I think from watching a lot of film and getting the reps at practice

What have you seen that you trust after two weeks? Heres a few of mine: The Alabama defense, the right arm of Texas Tech quarterback Pat Mahomes and the jukes of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson.I trust that San Diego State senior running back?Donnel Pumphrey?and Florida State senior defensive end DeMarcus Walker, two of the seasons early stars, wont convince the underclassmen behind them to stay for their senior years. I trust that the state of Louisiana belongs to quarterback Danny Etling, at least until Mississippi State comes to Tiger Stadium on Saturday. And those Buckeyes look pretty salty, too. 1. As good as No. 10 Louisville looked at Syracuse on Friday night, and thats 845 yards and 62 points good, the Cardinals have until noon Saturday to figure how to keep two teams from beating them: No. 2 Florida State and, yes, Louisville. As hot as the Cardinals appear to be in their first two games, they committed three turnovers and dropped 11 passes in the element-free conditions of the Carrier Dome. They cant get away with that against the Seminoles. 2. TCU redshirt sophomore Kenny Hill is playing beyond his years, and Im not ready to trust him. At Texas A&M two years ago, Hill threw for 511 yards in his first college game. By November he had lost his starting job and served a two-game suspension; by May he had announced a transfer to TCU. Flash forward to Saturday when Hill threw for 377 yards and one touchdown and ran for 93 yards and two more scores against Arkansas. But he also drew an unsportsmanlike penalty with a throat-slash gesture that provided the Hogs with enough field position to score late and send the game into overtime, where Arkansas won 41-38. How good will Hill be when he grows up? 3. Speaking of the Razorbacks, you may have seen the note from Stats & Info that Arkansas now has beaten five ranked opponents since the beginning of the 2014 season, the most by any unranked FBS team. That sounds like an impressive number, and surely its better than beating none. But the full story is that (A) Arkansas has been unranked for a reason; (B) that reason being Arkansas also has lost eight games to ranked opponents in that time; when (C) the Hogs have been ranked in only two games, a win over UTEP and a loss to Toledo in 2015. They get another chance this week: No. 24 Arkansas plays Texas State. 4. Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy struck the right tone of disappointment and responsibility in the statement he released Sunday about the misapplied rule that allowed Central Michigan to beat the Cowboys 30-27. I was more intrigued by the statement of Oklahoma State athletic director Mike Holder. In my mind, it is incomprehensible that a mistake made after time had expired cannot be corrected, said Holder, the former mens golf coach who led the Cowboys to eight NCAA titles. In golf, the rulebook may be checked after play and the score adjusted to ensure that its correct. In football, Oklahoma State is left to take solace in the two-game suspensions of the MAC crew and the Big 12 replay officials who worked the game. 5. The good news is that Arizona State back Kalen Ballage scored eight touchdowns in the Sun Devils 68-55 point-athon. The slightly better news is that in Todd Grahams five seasons in Tempe, the Sun Devils have won 10 games in which they have allowed 30 points. The much worse news is that Arizona State has allowed at least 30 points 28 times in Grahams 55 games, and nine times since the beginning of the 2015 season. Lets compare apples to apples: In that same time frame, Oregon, which also runs an up-tempo offense, has allowed 30 points in 17 games (the Ducks won 11 of them). The Sun Devils are exciting. But when will Graham figure out that they cant outscore everyone? 6. So Army and Wake Forest are 2-0 (against FBS competition, mind you) and LSU and Oklahoma State are not. The Black Knights havent started out 2-0 since 1996, when they began 9-0 and finished 10-2 and No. 25 in the AP poll. Army has had only one winning season since. The Demon Deacons havent started 2-0 against FBS opponents since 2008, when they beat Baylor and Ole Miss. That was so long ago that Wake finished 8-5 and Baylor finished 4-8. 7. And a quick Following the Coaching Legend update: Virginia Tech has lost nine fumbles in its first two games under Justin Fuente. Thats two more than it lost all of last season. In fact, in five of the last 10 seasons under Frank Beamer, the Hokies lost fewer than nine fumbles. It probably doesnt make Fuente feel good to remember that his Memphis team last year also lost nine fumbles over the entire season. "As the football nature of things work, you always get hurt at the same position," said head coach Tim Burke. "Its the way it always works." Starting defensive tackles Bryant Turner and J.T. Gilmore remain out for Week 4 against the visiting Argonauts, as well as linebackers Rene Stephan and Jeremy McGee. Terrell Parker, the teams new starting weak-side linebacker, was lost to a torn ACL against the Tiger-Cats in Week 3. Ian Wild was activated off the practice roster and will slot in for Parker as well as for long-snapper Chris Cvetkovic who injured his calf in practice. "It definitely helps that you have one of the best defences in the CFL that youre playing on," said Wild, who enters his first professional game this week. "Youve just got to do your role. I think thats why our defence is so good, because everybody does their role and we play team defence." Some good news on the Blue and Gold injury front is the long-awaited return of strong-side linebacker Johnny Sears after recovering from offseason knee surgery. "Everything is feeling good right now so its about time to get back and let loose," said Sears, who thinks he and Wild will have a smooth transition into the starting lineup. "I think well be able to hit the ground running. I think it was difficult the first day at practice because new guys were getting in new positions but I think from watching a lot of film and getting the reps at practice — single reps for just us in particular — I think we should be fine." The most devastatingly hit position is the receiving corps — the same group quarterback Buck Pierce is having trouble utilizing consistently through the seasons first three weeks. SStarters Terrence Edwards (shoulder), Chris Matthews (back), and leading pass-catcher Cory Watson (hamstring) are all out, leaving backups Isaac Anderson, Doug Pierce, and Rory Kholert to fill in.dddddddddddd Third-year receivers Jade Etienne and Clarence Denmark round out the suddenly inexperienced group. But whoever is on the receiving end, it all starts with offensive leader Buck Pierce, who has taken an inordinate amount of sacks this season as offensive coordinator Gary Crowtons new system for 2013 works to keep him "protected" in the pocket. "Sometimes Buck has got to help us by getting rid of the ball," said Crowton. "I think Buck can do a little bit better job getting rid of that football and not take the sacks. Even though we gave up six sacks (against Hamilton), which were not happy with at all, I think the rest of the time we were passing we had a cleaner pocket. He has better vision and could see what he was looking at without a guy in his face when throwing the ball. That was positive. We just cant have those errors." But after another relatively uninspiring outing under Crowtons new system, the team plans to take the reins off Pierce in Week 4 and allow him to play his gunslinger-type game and work to extend plays outside of the pocket. "Until you really break out and have a great game and show everybody what you can do — we just havent done that this year, so those question marks are still kind of floating around." The nine-year veteran is clearly eager to show what he is capable of. "I love going against this type of defence," said Pierce on facing the Argonauts. "For the challenges that they pose, and I think weve got a good plan going in this week, so Im excited about it." "Ive always kind of related (Toronto defensive coordinator) Chris Jones as a guy that wants to go out there and brawl," added Pierce. "My mentality coming into this game is its going to be a fight. Its going to be a fight and Im ready for 12 rounds of it." ' ' '

Who: SK Telecom T1 (South Korea, 8-2) vs. ROX Tigers (South Korea, 8-3) When: Friday, Oct. 21 at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT Where: Madison Square Garden in New York City, New YorkWhats at stakeWould it be too hyperbolic to say this means everything (and maybe even more)? These two teams have been the center of the professional scene for two years now, and Fridays semifinal will be the most anticipated match in Worlds history. While 2014s semifinal match between sister teams Samsung Blue and Samsung White was an equally intriguing story (they were the two favorites to win the Summoners Cup), SKT and the Tigers have had an ongoing feud for more than 600 days at this point.Last year, SKT T1 defeated ROX -- then known as the KOO Tigers -- in the Summoners Cup Final to win its second title and define itself as the first international dynasty in League of Legends. Since then, KOO has upgraded its roster, won the most recent domestic league in South Korea and rolled through the quarterfinal stage, brushing aside the Chinese champion EDward Gaming. The only accomplishments left to cross off are to raise the Summoners Cup -- and maybe even more importantly -- defeat and eliminate the team that has haunted them for the past two years.SKT has a 3-0 record against ROX Tigers in best-of-five matchups, and this Sundays semifinal will be the first time the two arent meeting in a bracket final. The ROX Tigers mightve won South Koreas Champions league in the summer split of this year, but that was only after KT Rolster eliminated SKT T1 in the semifinals.Inside the hallowed halls of New Yorks Madison Square Garden, this could be the final chance for the Tigers to rewrite the wrongs of the past. Song Smeb Kyung-ho has made it clear that he wants the title of best in the world and the only way the ace top laner will ever fully receive that honor is if he defeats the games greatest player, SKT T1s two-time world champion, Lee Faker Sang-hyeok.A loss for SKT, while prolific, would not break the organization. It has two world titles, five domestic crowns and countless other accolades. A semifinal loss would just push Faker and the rest of the roster to grow stronger in the offseason.A loss for ROX, its fourth straight to SKT in a major best-of-five series and second-straight elimination from Worlds, could be the final blow that breaks apart the second-best team in the world. It has been given chance after chance to prove itself versus SKT; even when its been in better form, the Tigers havent been able to bring SKT to a fifth game. On Sunday, forcing them to a fifth game wont be enough -- there are no moral victories here for the Tigers. They have to win.Matchup to Watch: Kang Blank Sun-gu (SKT) vs. Han Peanut Wang-ho (ROX)A matchup between the newest members on each roster could be the deciding factor in this two-year feud. The two players, while similar in terms of mechanics, have almost inverse narratives going into the semifinal. Blank is a player that has lower lows than Peanut and has been a lot more inconsistent throughout the domestic campaign, and yet, hes constantly come up big when SKT has needed him the most. Peanut, on the other hand, is the exact opposite: Hes been the best jungler in matches where ROX is favored, but hes also had blunders in big matches.Blank and Peanut both had strong quarterfinal performances, but the loser of Fridays semifinal will have their run cut short. Blank has said throughout the tournament that the tough criticism thrown at him by the media throughout the year hasnt hurt him but actually made him stronger, and Peanut is as confident as they come.Faker and Smeb will be the two names you hear the most in this titanic clash of the worlds best; however, its the men in the jungle protecting them who might tip the scale. Air Jordan Outlet . Darren Helm scored on Detroits sixth attempt in the shootout and then Jonas Gustavsson stopped Andrew Shaws shot, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night. To the surprise of many, it isnt the Wolverines but their in-state rivals the Michigan State Spartans. Cheap Retro Jordan .H. -- Matt Kenseth made it 2 for 2 in the Chase, holding off teammate Kyle Busch to win Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Air Jordan 19 For Sale . -- When the Florida Panthers fell behind by two goals in the first period to the top team in the NHL, it appeared they were on their way to yet another loss. Two-time Paralympic cycling gold medallist Michael Gallagher has been banned from the Rio Games after being handed a provisional doping suspension. The 37-year-old Australian returned a positive sample to erythropoietin (EPO) at an out-of-competition test at a training camp in July in Italy. The test was coordinated by ASADA as part of a comprehensive pre-Rio anti-doping program to ensure the integrity of the Australian Paralympic team, ASADA said on Friday in a statement. The provisional suspension is effective immediately and means Mr Gallagher will not compete at the Paralympics in Rio.Gallagher - who is a C5 classified athlete - won gold in the individual pursuit at the 2008 and 2012 Paralympics.Cycling Australia (CA) CEO Nick Greenn was informed on Friday of Gallaghers doping ban.ddddddddddddGreen said CA fully supported the rigorous testing done by ASADA and the decision by the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) to ban Gallagher from the Games which start on September 7.Gallaghers ban was announced just a few hours after an Australian team numbering more than 170 athletes flew out of Sydney. The APC fiercely supports the fight against doping in sport and this is a reminder to all athletes that they will be caught if they do not comply with the rules, regardless of intent, team chef de mission Kate McLoughlin said in a statement. Michael Cheika insists he is not cheapening the Australian jersey by including Marika Koroibete in his European tour squad before the NRL convert has played a single rugby match at home.Reaction to Koroibetes selection in the 32-man touring group has been mixed but Cheika reckons it was a perfectly logical thing to do, saying it would allow him an up-close look at the Fijian flyer. He has been identified as a long-term Wallaby - ahead of his Super Rugby debut next year with the Melbourne Rebels. No ones getting a jersey for free - no one has and no one ever will, Cheika told reporters on Wednesday in a conference call.Ill look at him at training. Hes obviously a fine player and a profile of out-and-out speed, a linebreaker, a guy whos got a bit of X-factor.Hes got runs on the board - yes, in another code, but hes grown up playing rugby. Its not like he doesnt know the game.(But) hes not going to be jettisoned in there and start from game one. Theres a definite plan in what were doing.Cheika indicated Australias mid-week clash with the French Barbarians - a non-cap game to be played on November 24 in Bordeaux - would be the ideal opportunity to blood Koroibete.Ive had a few discussions with him and met with him a couple of times about game knowledge, he said.Hes still very, very well aware of what goes on in rugby and understands the dynamics of the game.Koroibete is one of three uncapped players in the squad, along with hooker Tolu Latu and utility back Kyle Godwin.Cheika said he had spoken to two-Test winger Luke Morahan, the unlucky man seemingly bumped out of the Wallaby reckoning by Koroibetes arrival.Yes, he would have been disappointed for sure, but Im looking to grow the amount of depth of players that we have and (Koroibete) is one of the players that are on this tour who will help us in doing that, he said.Meanwhile, Cheika admits he will have a fight on his hands to ensure in-form halfback Will Genia is available for Australias full tour. The first Test against Wales and the last Test against England dont fall inside World Rugbys regulation nine window, meaning Cheika will need to negotiate carefully with French club Stade Francais.I see that the English clubs have released the Welsh players, they (decided) as a whole to release them as a block. Im hoping Ill get the same reaction from the president of Stade Francais but you never know, he said. Darrell Brown Jersey Signed . 31, the CFL club announced Monday. COLLEGE FOOTBALLIn another step toward redefining the amateur status of college athletes, Northwestern has agreed to drop social media restrictions placed on football players after a complaint about the team handbook was filed with the National Labor Relations Board.ESPN first reported the complaint was withdrawn in September after Northwestern agreed to modify its rules. The NLRBs advisory memo states the scholarship football players are assumed to be statutory employees and that certain team rules were unlawful. That could affect players at the other 16 private schools that compete in FBS.A group of former Northwestern players, led by an advocacy group for college athletes, failed last year in its attempt to gain the right to unionize the team from the NLRB, although the door was left open for other changes when the board said the players should be treated as employees. The board has no jurisdiction over public institutions, which include the vast majority of colleges and universities in Division I.DERRICK ROSE LAWSUITLOS ANGELES -- The night after Derrick Rose and two of his friends had sex with his ex-girlfriend, he had a hunch she was going to claim they raped her, the NBA star testified Tuesday.Rose said he became suspicious of the woman when she texted later the same day of the alleged early morning attack in August 2013 to say how inebriated she had been and to describe burns she claimed she got on her hands from a fire pit outside his Beverly Hills house. Rose said he believed she was sober and never witnessed any burns the night before. It looked like a setup, Rose said. It turned out to be what I thought.Rose testified for a second day in the $21.5 million lawsuit that claims he and his friends had sex without the womans consent when she was incapacitated from drinking and, possibly, drugs. The woman claims the three entered her apartment and had sex with her while she was blacked out after drinking tequila at Roses rental house earlier and other booze she had before she got there.PRO HOCKEYNEW YORK -- The NHL is adding a staff of spotters to better help identify players who may have sustained a concussion and have them removed from games for evaluation. In an enhancement of its concussion protocol, the league announced the spotters will monitor all game broadcasts from the NHLs headquarters in New York. The policy first went into effect during the World Cup of Hockey tournament last month.BASEBALLATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves named Brian Snitker manager, rewarding him for reversing the teams direction in his role as interim manager this season. The Braves finished last in the NL East but won 20 of their last 30 games under Snitker, who was named interim manager on May 17 after Fredi Gonzalez was fired. Snitker had a 59-65 record, including 37-35 after the All-Star break.Despite the strong finish under Snitker, the Braves also interviewed former managers Bud Black and Ron Washington.Washington was named the Braves third-base coach and Chuck Hernandez was named pitching coach. Snitkers staff also includes bench coach Terry Pendleton, first base coach Eddie Perez, hitting coach Kevin Seitzer, assistant hitting coach Jose Castro and bullpen coach Marty Reed.Snitker, 61, was not given much long-term security. Tebow stayed with Berry for 15 to 20 minutes until paramedics took him from the stadium, praying for Berry while placing a hand on his leg.The 30-year-old Berry said he was OK at home in nearby Avondale after being released from the hospital.Berry said he doesnt remember much after the seizure, except that he told the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner that he cheered for Georgia -- an SEC rival of Tebows Florida Gators.OLYMPICSROME -- Italy suspended Romes bid for the 2024 Olympics, forced to pull the plug because of the staunch opposition of the citys mayor.Italian Olympic Committee president Giovanni Malago said that he had written to the IOC announcing the decision to interrupt the candidacy. While the letter left open a small possibility for a revival of the bid if there is a change in city government, Malago didnt hold out much hope. The move comes after Romes city council voted last month to withdraw support of the bid on the recommendation of Mayor Virginia Raggi. If James Tedesco doesnt know where he is running when he has the Steeden, how the hell are NRL defences supposed to?Thats the question Wests Tigers rivals will be asking themselves after superstar fullback Tedesco scored one of the tries of the season in the 26-14 upset win over North Queensland at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.Tedesco beat 10, yes 10, defenders on the way to the tryline at the southern end of the iconic suburban venue to seal the Tigers 10th win of the year just before fulltime. On a day in which Jarryd Hayne returned to the NRL, Tedescos try revived memories of the ex-Parramatta star in his heyday. And Tedesco was meant to be taking a field goal, which is about the only thing he cant do on a rugby league field.I said to Mitch (Moses) I would just be an option outside him, he threw me the ball and I was not confident taking a field goal, so I just thought I would run it, Tedesco said.I dont know how I got there in the end, I was just trying to get there. The boys say they try and support me but they dont know where I am running. I dont know where I am running either. I just found myself near the line. I was pretty lucky to get there.I sort of slid and they sort of dragged me over so I didnt really know if I got there in the end.Tigers coach Jason Taylor said in the post-match press conference he still couldnt believe Tedesco scored the try.As it was the NSW fullback was making up for an earlier error and was even concerned his late lunge at the line could have lost the Tigers victory.Mitchell wanted to go the set before but I threw a pass (from dummy-half) over his head, Tedesco said.We ended up getting a repeat set, we were lucky.I was pretty worried if it was double movement then they would get a penalty and they would be down our end.In the end they have (awarded) the try. To do that tonight it will give us a massive boost heading into the end of the season. Tom Seaver Jersey . A lawyer for MLB, Matthew Menchel, confirmed Wednesday the league dropped its case against Biogenesis of America, its owner Anthony Bosch and several other individuals. The lawsuit had accused Biogenesis and Bosch of conspiring with players to violate their contracts by providing them with banned performance-enhancing substances. PASADENA, Calif. -- Kennedy Polamalu is UCLAs offensive coordinator, but he still looks and thinks about the game from the vantage point of a fullback.Polamalu seemed pained when the Bruins attempted 70 passes against Utah and has been frustrated for months by a ground game that ranks among the nations worst, so he opened up competition at running back this week and hoped for a response. It wasnt perfect, but Polamalu got one.Bolu Olorunfunmi rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown, Jalen Starks ran for two touchdowns, and UCLA used its second-best rushing performance of the season to hold off Oregon State 38-24 on Saturday night.Randall Goforth returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown and Mike Fafaul threw for 281 yards and one interception as UCLA (4-6, 2-5 Pac-12) snapped a four-game losing streak. Its good to get a win, UCLA coach Jim Mora said. They have been hard to come by this year.Artavis Pierce had 73 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Oregon State (2-6, 1-6 Pac 12). The Beavers are 1-15 in conference games under second-year coach Gary Andersen.UCLA rushed for 163 yards, its best outing since running for 125 yards against Arizona in October. Olorunfunmi, Soso Jamabo, Brandon Stephens and Nate Starks each had 4 yards or more per carry, a major improvement for a group that had been averaging 2.6 yardsThe only one who didnt was Starks, the 255-pound freshman that Polamalu called a big bull. Polamalu wouldnt single out Starks as his favorite and said seeing the bruising back in action brings a smile to my face.I thought as a group they stayed together, Polamalu said. They didnt complain and were helping each other on the sideline, so I thought that was pretty cool.It wasnt always pretty. Jamabo fumbled on UCLAs second play from scrimmage, and Pierce scored on a 1-yard touchdown run two plays later to give Oregon State the early 7-0 lead.Fafaul threw a 48-yard pass to Jordan Lasley that helped set up Olorunfunmis TD to make it 7-7. Starks ran for a touchdown and Lasley scored off a blocked punt to give UCLAA a 21-7 lead.dddddddddddd Pierce scored on another short touchdown run midway through the second quarter to pull Oregon State to 21-14.Oregon State was opportunistic, keeping the game in doubt until the final two minutes when Goforth picked off Marcus McMaryion and scored. McMaryion was 22 of 33 for 232 yards.I just wish he had put the ball away until he got into the end zone, UCLA defensive coordinator Tom Bradley said. Im a fan of that.Manase Hungalu recovered two fumbles, including one he returned 40 yards for a touchdown, pulling the Beavers to 24-21 in the third quarter. Hungalu also had an interception, returning it 37 yards out of the end zone to stall a Bruin drive early in the fourth quarter. We come out every week and we expect to win, nothing less, Hungalu said. I think we just need to realize that it takes every quarter and every single play. We cant take a play off or take a break on one of the plays.UCLA gained 30 yards off penalties on the ensuing possession. Safety Jalen Moore was ejected for targeting and linebacker Kyle Haley grabbed receiver Theo Howards face mask, setting up Starks second TD run that made it 31-21.THE TAKEAWAYOregon State: The Beavers are taking steps forward. The defense and special teams were mostly solid, but the offense was sluggish without running back Ryan Nall, who is out with a foot injury. Still, this rebuilding project might be ahead of schedule. Oregon State has played four conference games decided by one score this season.UCLA: The Bruins have a path to a bowl game, but its slim. UCLA must upset a white-hot Southern California team that just shut down Washington in Seattle, and knock off California in Berkeley to get to six wins. If UCLA remains utterly one-dimensional on offense, attempting 48 passes to 29 runs, those hopes will be extinguished next week.UP NEXTOregon State hosts Arizona on Saturday.UCLA hosts crosstown rival USC on Saturday. The Vikings announced Thursday that Priefer will be one of seven holdovers from the previous staff, along with offensive line coach Jeff Davidson, wide receivers coach George Stewart and others. The showiest items on Calgarys lot were forwards Mike Cammalleri and Lee Stempniak. Both will be unrestricted free agents this summer. Hunter Dozier Jersey .05 million next season unless Graham and the Saints subsequently agree on a long-term deal. The designation was released Monday after the deadline passed for NFL teams to use franchise or transition tags on players becoming free agents. Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin is staying mum when it comes to updating the status of injured Aggies defensive end Myles Garrett, receivers Speedy Noil and Ricky Seals-Jones and offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor. All four missed a win over South Carolina last week that leaves the eighth-ranked Aggies 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Southeastern Conference. Texas A&M plays host to ninth-ranked Tennessee (5-0, 2-0) in a nationally telecast (CBS) game at 3:30 p.m. EDT Saturday at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas.Sumlin didnt hold back when it came to praising the Vols, who scored on a Hail Mary as time ran out last week to get by Georgia 34-31 just a week after rallying from an 18-point deficit to whip Florida 38-28.The Vols have trailed in four of their first five games and needed overtime to get by Appalachian State in their opener. This is a team that on paper if you dont watch it youll say theyve gotten lucky, Sumlin said of the Vols. They havent gotten lucky. They have a veteran quarterback (senior Joshua Dobbs) that is No. 1 in this league in points responsible for, whether hes throwing it, whether hes running it, whatever hes doing, hes the No. 1 guy creating those points in this league. That No. 1 gives you a chance to win these types of games. Hes been through it before.Dobbs, Sumlin continued, has played in a number of different stadiums and before big crowds, including before a college-football-record crowd of 156,990 for the Battle of Bristol against Virginia Tech at Bristol Motor Speedway.Basically he has been through about all you can expect, plus he has quarterbacked the Vols to 11 consecutive victories, their longest winning streak since Tennessee won 14 in a row by taking the opener in 1999 after a 13-0 season in 1998.Dobbs has rushed for 267 yards and five touchdowns and passed for 13 touchdowns, the last a launch of a 43-yard pass to the end zone to Jauan Jennings as time ran out at Georgia. So hes going to come in here and hes seen all this, Sumlin said. Because of that, that creates confidence in a football team has a really good defense with high-level athletess with a lot of speed.dddddddddddd Theyre one of the top special teams teams in this league. Great kickoff returns. Great speed across the field. When you have a team like that, youre explosive. When you combine that with a quarterback whos been there and done that and seen that, youre a confident unit.So we have a huge challenge this weekend.Tennessee coach Butch Jones can make the same claim about the challenge of facing Texas A&M.The Aggies survived an overtime scare from UCLA in the season opener but have rolled to double-digit victories since. Even without the four injured starters, they had things under control in beating South Carolina 24-13 last week.Quarterback Trevor Knight, the Oklahoma transfer, hasnt been the most accurate of passers (54.1 percent), but he still has been a catalyst for an offense that is spewing out 521 yards rushing and passing a game.Knight is the second-leading rusher on the team with 392 yards behind the 487 of freshman running back Trayveon Williams. Knight has scored six rushing touchdowns, the most on the team, to go with his seven touchdown passes.I think Trevor Knight has really changed their offense, Jones said. Hes managing their offense. He can hurt you with his arm. He can hurt you with his legs.Theyre just a complete football team. The Aggies will be going for their first 6-0 start since the 1994 team won its first seven games before tying SMU.This is the third consecutive season Texas A&M has started on a five-game winning streak, and the losses in October to end that success has been the subject of some talk in Aggieland. Sumlin dismissed the notion that a similar result would have any particular significance. If we lose this week, its not indicative of anything, Sumlin said. Our seasons not over. Were playing good football. This team has done a great job of focusing on the little things from day to day. Weve gotten great leadership from our coaching staff, assistant coaches, and internally from our team. ' ' '

CHICAGO -- The Cincinnati Reds are banking on big things from Cody Reed and theyre willing to wait out a rough start to his career.Reed struggled through four innings and the Reds lost for the 11th time in 13 games, falling 10-4 to the Chicago Cubs on Monday. The Reds fired pitching coach Mark Riggins in an effort to shake up a staff with the majors worst ERA, then continued their slide.Zack Cozart and Eugenio Suarez hit back-to-back home runs for Cincinnati in the seventh inning. But the Reds committed two errors and Reed (0-3) struggled again on the mound. The left-hander gave up eight runs -- four earned -- and five hits in four innings after getting pounded at home by the Cubs last week. He also walked three and hit two batters with pitches as his ERA remained 9.00 after four career starts.I dont think its mechanical, Reed said. I just think its probably between the ears a little bit. Im frustrated with myself, but you cant stay frustrated. Youve got to put stuff like this behind you. Ive had four bad starts and I just have to think the fifth will be better.Cubs slugger Kris Bryant hit his NL-best 24th home run before leaving with a bruised leg. Willson Contreras and Addison Russell also went deep for Chicago.Playing the NL Centrals last-place team was just what the major league-leading Cubs needed after getting outscored 32-11 in a four-game sweep by the Mets in New York. The power of 24 hours, manager Joe Maddon said. We had a tough stay in New York City.It looked a whole lot easier against a Reds team that could challenge the franchise record of 101 losses.Bryant hit a two-run shot in the second inning and scored three times before exiting with a bruised lower left leg in the fifth. He was hurt making a catch in left field when center fielder Albert Almora Jr. ran into him.Matt Szczur batted for Bryant in the bottom of the fifth. Bryant would have stayed in had the game been closer and should be fine for Tuesday, Maddon said.Almora said he didnt hear Bryant calling for the ball and took responsibility for the collision.I came in after the game and I tried to find him, Almora said. Hes doing all right. I gave him like 15,000 hugs.Contreras capped a three-run second with a solo drive off Reed that made it 6-0. Russell drove in three runs and scored two.Kyle Hendricks (7-6) gave up an unearned run and four hits in 5 1/3 innings as the Cubs started a four-game homestand on a winning note after going 4-7 on their longest trip of the season.GOING DEEPThe Cubs, who swept three games in Cincinnati last week, scored three runs in each of the first two innings.Bryants towering drive to center in the second left him two homers shy of his total last season on the way to winning the NL Rookie of the Year award. He connected after going deep six times during the 11-game trip.Contreras homer to left was his fifth since being called up from Triple-A on June 17.IN ORDERChicago OF Jason Heyward responded with a solid day at the plate after being dropped from second to sixth in the batting order. He had a two-run double and finished with two hits.TRAINERS ROOMReds: Manager Bryan Price said he hopes to have RHP Jumbo Diaz (sore right ankle) available on Tuesday. The swellings out and its still tender to the touch, Price said before the game. I dont really need him today.Cubs: OF Dexter Fowler (strained right hamstring) said he is feeling better but is not sure if he will return before the All-Star break. He was eligible to come off the disabled list Monday. Maddon did not rule out the possibility that Fowlers first game back could be the All-Star Game.UP NEXTRHP John Lackey (7-4, 3.27 ERA) looks to get back to winning for Chicago, while Reds LHP Brandon Finnegan (3-7, 4.48) tries to bounce back from the shortest start of his career. Lackey is 0-2 in his past four starts, though he pitched into the seventh in a no-decision against the Mets last week. Finnegan gave up eight runs in 2 1/3 innings against Washington. Match factsNovember 25-29, 2016 Start time 1100 local (2200 GMT)Big PictureWhile tawny Asian pitches can still prompt outrage and consternation, tracks coloured a lurid, nausea-inducing green have quietly become a New Zealand trademark. The response from most touring sides has been perfectly even-handed. These are their home conditions, is the consensus. We just have to play on what we get.On the eve of the Test, Hamiltons track has as much grass as the pitch did in Christchurch, and as the air is warmer up north, the ball may swing more here, as well as seam. Word around the ground is that the toss may also prove significant; teams that have won it in the last four Tests have inserted the opposition. They have always wound up victorious. It is the batting that gave Pakistan most cause for concern in Christchurch and, as can often be the case with batsmen in unfamiliar conditions, they veered between extreme approaches - too loose in the first innings, too tight in the second. Now they are preaching the get runs, before the good ball gets you philosophy that has recently found credence on tough tracks. They will also want to take the game deep - it is legspinner Yasir Shah who has most consistently wrenched matches open for them, and it is the quality of his spin that marks the visitors clearest advantage over New Zealand. The hosts are without Trent Boult for the first time in over three years, but have the firepower of Matt Henry sliding in to replace him. With a win behind them, and a damp surface underfoot again, banished is talk of the dusty whitewash in India, even if the batsmen havent all reclaimed their form just yet. They remain wary of Pakistans propensity to work out foreign conditions, and hit back after losses, but will be happier with the forecast than the visitors. Rain is expected on the first day, and may continue, in patches, all through the weekend. Less sunshine, means less evaporation, means less turn off the pitch for Yasir.Form guide(last five completed matches, most recent first)? New Zealand: WLLLLPakistan: LLWWWIn the spotlightTim Macintosh, Jamie How, Peter Ingram, Martin Guptill, Hamish Rutherford, Michael Papps, Craig Cumming - just pick any Anglo-Saxon first name and there will have been a modest New Zealand opener that answered to it, over the last ten years. The latest man to take guard is Gujarat-born Jeet Raval. Stylish and composed in his debut outing, and emerging with the highest match aggregate on a difficult pitch, Raval knows Pakistan will have better plans for him in this Test. If he is effective again in Hamilton, he will raise hopes that he can break the great New Zealand openers cuurse.dddddddddddd. With long-term collaborator Misbah-ul-Haq now out of the picture, the middle-order batting/recovery responsibilities fall heavily on the shoulders of Younis Khan. There are mild whispers he is no longer his old self on sporting pitches, but surely this is premature; the man has scores of 218 and 127 and 51 in his last seven innings. Nevertheless, such is life in international sport when you reach a certain age. Pakistan will look to him for leadership in this match. After three consecutive single-figure scores, Younis will want a big score more than anyone.Teams newsIn addition to Henry, Mitchell Santner appears likely to play - displacing Todd Astle. The top order will likely remain unchanged after Ross Taylor was cleared to play.New Zealand (probable) 1. Jeet Raval, 2 Tom Latham, 3 Kane Williamson (capt.), 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Henry Nicholls, 6 Colin de Grandhomme, 7 BJ Watling (wk), 8 Mitchell Santner, 9 Tim Southee, 10 Neil Wagner, 11 Matt HenryOn a spicy surface, Pakistan have hinted they prefer Mohammad Rizwan over Sharjeel Khan. As a bonus, Rizwan can also fit into the middle order without causing changes elsewhere. Rahat Ali took 4 for 62 in the first innings at Christchurch, but looks likeliest to miss out if Wahab Riaz enters the fray.Pakistan (probable) 1 Sami Aslam, 2 Azhar Ali (capt.), 3 Babar Azam, 4 Younis Khan, 5 Mohammad Rizwan, 6 Asad Shafiq, 7 Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), 8 Wahab Riaz, 9 Yasir Shah, 10 Mohammad Amir, 11 Sohail KhanPitch and conditionsGreen and damp on this occasion, Hamilton has seen bounce, turn, reverse swing and conventional swing, at different points over the past few years, so it is difficult to know what to expect. Unless rain washes out several sessions, a result appears likely, though.Stats and triviaUntil this match, Trent Boult had not missed a New Zealand Test since early 2012 - he had played in 44 on the trot.New Zealand have lost three of their last five Tests at Seddon Park - they beat West Indies and Sri Lanka, and lost to Australia, Pakistan and South AfricaMohammad Amirs 3 for 43 in the first innings at Hagley Oval was his best analysis since his return from suspension.Pakistan have not lost a series since August 2014, when they were defeated 0-2 in Sri Lanka?QuotesI think it will swing more in Hamilton than in Christchurch, with the humidity.New Zealand batsman Ross TaylorYounis has gone through a lot of times in his career like this - when he hasnt scored runs in the first match, but he always bounces back.Pakistan batsman Asad Shafiq ' ' '

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee and Appalachian State open the season Thursday attempting to build on the momentum each team established late last year. The ninth-ranked Volunteers open the year with their highest Top 25 position since October 2006 after winning its final six games last season. Defending national champion Alabama and San Diego State are the only Football Bowl Subdivision teams with longer active winning streaks.Appalachian State is coming off an 11-2 season in which it won it last four games. Now both teams try to continue those surges even after the natural roster turnover that occurs with each offseason.Id say more than momentum, it builds confidence, Tennessee coach Butch Jones said. Our players expect to win. They understand the investment it takes to win.So do the Mountaineers.Appalachian State has won 17 of its last 19 game and has a veteran offensive backfield featuring quarterback Taylor Lamb and running back Marcus Cox. The Mountaineers are relative FBS newcomers who made their first bowl appearance last season and beat Ohio 31-29 in the Camellia Bowl. But they face a much tougher test Thursday, nine years to the day after they upset Michigan in one of college footballs greatest upsets ever. Appalachian State coach Scott Satterfield has compared Tennessee to the Clemson team that beat the Mountaineers 41-10 last season and went on to reach the College Football Playoff championship game. They have everything in place and, in my opinion, starting the season, theyre ahead of where Clemson was last year, Satterfield said. This represents the third straight year in which Tennessee has opened by facing a team from outside the Power Five conferences that had won a bowl game the previous season. Tennessee beat Utah State 38-7 in its 2014 opener and defeated Bowling Green 59-30 to start the 2015 season.Tennessee only led Bowling Green 35-27 early in the third quarter before pulling away down the stretch.I feel like it was a lesson learned, Tennessee linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. said. This year we want to focus on being the best we can every week. .... Appalachian State was an 11-2 team last year, and we really need to focus on them.---Here are some things to watch when Tennessee hosts Appalachian State.SOLID RUNNING GAMES: Both teams return 1,000-yard rushers from last season. Cox has run for over 1,200 yards each of the last three seasons, including a 1,423-yard performance last season. Cox ran for 103 yards against Clemson a year ago. Tennessees Jalen Hurd rushed for 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. The Vols have other running threats as well. Alvin Kamara ran for 698 yards and seven touchdowns last season. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs ran for 671 yards and 11 touchdowns.MORE HAPPY RETURNS?: Tennessee returns the nations top kickoff returner and punt returner from last season. Evan Berry scored on three of his 21 kickoff returns last season and averaged 38.3 yards per attempt. Cam Sutton scored on two of his 25 punt returns and averaged 18.7 yards per attempt. Kamara also scored on a punt return last season. Tennessees six combined touchdowns on kickoff and punt returns were the most of any FBS team since North Carolina had seven in 2013.RED-ZONE ISSUES: Appalachian State returns eight starters from a defense that was particularly stingy in the red zone last season. Appalachian State allowed opponents to score on just 63.6 percent of their drives inside the Mountaineers 20-yard line last season. Appalachian State gave up touchdowns on only 25 percent of opponents red-zone possessions. No other FBS team gave up such a low percentage of touchdowns on red-zone drives.PROTECTING LAMB: The Mountaineers chances of staying competitive could depend on whether they give Lamb enough time to throw. Appalachian State returns three starters from an offensive line that allowed only 11 sacks last season. Tennessees pass rush features Derek Barnett, who has recorded 10 sacks each of the last two seasons.VOLS NEW DEFENSE: Thursdays game marks the debut performance for new Tennessee defensive coordinator Bob Shoop, who held the same position at Vanderbilt from 2011-13 and at Penn State from 2014-15. Shoop takes over for John Jancek, who is now the South Florida safeties coach.---AP college football website: www.collegefootball.ap.org Gus Mancuso Jersey ., and Rudi Swiegers of Kipling, Sask., took sixth spot on Saturday in pairs at the NHK Trophy ISU Grand Prix figure skating competition. Aaron Harrison scored a 22 points for Kentucky (6-1), which has won four in a row following a Nov. 12 loss to current No. 1 Michigan State. Julius Randle overcame a scoreless first half and added his sixth double-double in as many games with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jeffrey Leonard Jersey . Numbers Game looks into the Canadiens securing the services of Thomas Vanek in a trade with the New York Islanders. The Canadiens Get: LW Thomas Vanek and a conditional fifth-round pick. Johnnie Lemaster Jersey . In Europe, top teams seem to be largely happy with their squads after spending nearly $1 billion in the off-season. And although English league clubs are unlikely to splash cash in January, Arsenal and Chelsea could be tempted to strengthen their squads with new strikers.KAZAN, Russia -- Kimberly Hyacinthe earned Canadas first gold at the 2013 World University Games by winning the womens 200 metres final on Wednesday. The Terrebonne, Que., native finished first with a personal-best time of 22.78 seconds on a four-medal day for Canada. Ellie Black, a 2012 Olympian from Halifax, collected two medals in womens artistic gymnastics with a silver in the floor final and bronze on the beam. Before Blacks performance, Canadas only FISU Games medal in womens artistic gymnastics was a third-place finish by Anita Botnen at the beam 30 years ago in Edmonton. Canadian women had not competed in the sport at the Universiade since 1999. "Its incredible and Im so happy," Black. "In my vault final, I didnt medal but that was still the highlight because Ive landed one vault Ive never competed before. This has been amazing to represent Canada so well. I am so proud and to bring home medals is incredible." The bronze medal-winning womens relay touched the wall in 3:40.71. Russian took the gold in a Universiade record time of 3:38.15 with the U.S. just 0.45 behind. "I think the goal of the whole day was to medal," said MacLean, a 2012 Olympian. "Its great to bring home a medal on the first night and get the ball rolling ffor Team Canadas success at this meet.dddddddddddd "Going into the next few days I think people are excited. Were capable of being up there with the rest of the world and we are going to be a force to reckon with the rest of the week." In mens soccer, a penalty goal by captain Robbie Murphy of Ottawa in the 59th minute gave Canada a 1-1 draw with powerhouse Brazil. The Canucks (1-0-2) end pool play in second place in their group and face host Russia Friday in the quarters. Canada had advanced to the playoffs only once in the past in mens soccer at the FISU Games, finishing fourth in 2007 in Bangkok. In womens water polo, the Canadians (2-1) beat Japan 13-7 to end the preliminary round in second place. They face France Friday in the quarter-finals. Shae Fournier of Winnipeg, Kelly McKee of Calgary and Alexa Tielmann of Abbotsford, B.C., all registered hat tricks against the Japanese side. In womens basketball, despite a second loss in three pool matches, this time 72-67 to Taiwan, Canada advanced to the Final Eight thanks to an upset win by Japan over Ukraine. The red and white battles undefeated Australia (3-0) Friday. Rachelle Coward of Dartmouth, N.S., led the way with 13 points for the Canadians, who were down by as much as 28 in the third quarter before mounting a furious comeback. Jay Trianos mens basketball squad was also victorious on Wednesday, moving to 3-0 thanks to a come-from-behind 92-83 victory over Australia. Canada can clinch a spot in the quarter-finals Thursday against the Czech Republic. Brady Heslip of Burlington, Ont., was the top scorer for the third consecutive match with 18 points. Meanwhile, Canada lost in womens volleyball, a straight-setter against Brazil, and in mens water polo, 13-4 to Hungary. The Canadian women had already clinched their spot in the volleyball quarter-finals on Tuesday. They will open the Round of 8 Friday against Thailand. In beach volleyball, Canada continued to impress in both womens and mens. The undefeated duo of Melissa Humana-Paredes of Toronto and Taylor Pischke of Winnipeg beat Germany to advance to the quarters, where they play a team from Poland Thursday. On the mens side, Grant OGorman of Toronto and Samuel Pedlow of Barrie, Ont., dropped their final preliminary match 2-0 to Germany but rebounded with a 2-0 win over France in their first playoff contest. BOSTON -- The Tigers expected they would need a lot of runs to keep pace with Bostons potent offense that underwhelmed in Detroits series-opening victory. What the Tigers didnt anticipate was being gifted the game-deciding run on a night when the margin of error was small for both teams.Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run home run, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Tyler Collins each had a pair of RBI and the Tigers roughed up knuckleballer Steven Wright to beat the Red Sox 9-8 on Tuesday night. With the game tied in the sixth, Collins drew a bases-loaded two-out walk, which allowed Justin Upton to score the decisive run.Detroit and Boston combined for 22 hits as both starting pitchers struggled to string together outs throughout the evening. With all the offense from both sides, its kind of ironic that a walk is the difference, Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said.Saltalamacchia, a switch-hitter, had three hits after choosing to hit right handed against Wright. It was the first time hes hit from that side of the plate against a right-handed pitcher in his major league career. Not since Little League, he said with a chuckle.Alex Wilson (1-0) got the victory, and Francisco Rodriguez closed for his 29th save. Detroit won the series opener 4-2 on Monday night.David Ortiz had a three-run home run, but Bostons offense didnt have enough to offset a rare poor outing by Wright, who gave up nine hits and eight runs over 4 2/3 innings. Wright was leading the AL in ERA entering Tuesday. Its tough to keep asking the offense to keep carrying us like that, Wright said.Robbie Ross Jr. (1-2) got the loss.Detroit scored early for the second straight night, this time taking the lead on Cabreras 20th homer of the season. That was followed by RBI singles from Collins and Jose Iglesias in the second inning that made it 4-0.Detroit starter Mike Pelfrey was solid the first time through the order but lost some of his early command the second time around. It started in the third when Boston nearly erased Detroits lead with one big swing by Ortiz. With Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts aboard, Ortiz connected on a 3-2 pitch from Pelfrey to drive his 25th of the season over the right-field wall. The Red Sox took the lead back an inning later on an RBI groundout by Brock Hoolt and an RBI double by Betts.ddddddddddddhe Tigers continued to get hits against Wright and went back up 8-5 thanks a four-run fifth inning.Boston kept chipping away and used Jackie Bradley Jr.s home run and RBI by Dustin Pedroia and Bogaerts to tie it in the sixth.TRAINERS ROOMTigers: OF J.D. The MLB Network analyst made the rounds in the Red Sox clubhouse Tuesday and said he can empathize with what David Price is experiencing this year. Its his first year on a team that holds a lot of expectations, Martinez said. To be honest, I think hes going be all right. Its just a matter of making adjustments and making them as quickly as possible.UP NEXTTigers: RHP Michael Fulmer (9-2, 2.41 ERA) makes his 16th start of the year in Wednesdays series finale. It will be his first career start against the Red Sox. Lewis Hamilton says he will be interested to see who puts themselves forward to be his teammate at Mercedes next season. After Nico Rosberg shocked the motor racing world with the news of his retirement following his title success this year, Mercedes is set to start the search for his replacement on Monday. Niki Lauda has revealed that several drivers have been in touch about the vacant seat, but no names have been formally linked to the team beyond speculation in the press.Asked if he had any words advice for potential candidates, Hamilton joked: If you cant stand the heat, dont come! No, its a great environment. When youre in the Mercedes family its a beautiful place to be. Its probably the only team where you are a part of the family, I would imagine. If you drive for Mercedes you generally are a part of Mercedes for life, unless you burn that bridge and go somewhere else.So I would just say for a driver thats coming, theres nothing to be afraid of in respect to being a part of this great team. Im interested to see who would want to be my team-mate and Id respect anyone who would want to.Hamilton says he is not fussed about being a part of the selection process, but believes some drivers would be a better fit than others.Honestly I really dont care, but I guess Id have to think that if they want to talk to me they can talk to me about it. Ultimately, it would have to be someone who would work well in the team. There will be stronger characters and less-strong characters who will be able to deal with the competition or not be able to deal with the competition. Some drivers who would take alternative routes to be able to deal with the competition. There will be a good and bad one out there for sure. Id be more than happy to help with that analysis.Hamilton and Rosberg experienced several tense moments during their time as teammates at Mercedes, but the three-time world champion is confident he will finish ahead of anyone he is paired with next season.Ive never needed a teammate to be able to push me, but the better the driver the better it is for me when I finish ahead of him. You need someone with good values to represent the team in a positive way, a good work ethic and consistency so we can win the constructors championship.Daniel [Ricciardo] and [Max] Verstappen are very very consistent [for Red Bull] so in terms of challenging for constructors titles, which is the teams first goal, we need to make sure its equally as consistent as we were before. Four-time major champion Rory McIlroy looks set to compete at this summers Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro after having his mind put at ease over the potential threat of the Zika virus. World No 3 McIlroy is expected to represent Ireland in Brazil as golf returns to the Olympic schedule for the first time since 1904.However, last month McIlroy revealed that he still had concerns over competing - citing the ongoing Zika epidemic as a potential deterrent. The 27-year-old recently became engaged to fiance Erica Stoll and was considering withdrawing from the competition as the Zika virus has been linked to birth defects in new-born babies.Former Masters and US PGA champion Vijay Singh and Australian golfer Marc Leishman have already signalled their intention to miss the games. McIlroy is set to represent Ireland at the Olympics But McIlroy now looks set to compete after having his concerns eased by health professionals. Ive sought out some advice and I had two dead shoulders for about four days last week because I got my shots and whatever I needed to get for going down there, McIlroy told a press conference on Wednesday.Obviously, theres no vaccination for Zika. I think what the health experts are really worried about, its not the individual cases. Fijian Vijay Singh has signalled his intention to miss the games due to the virus Its the fact that 500,000 people go to Rio and they spend three weeks at the Games, they go back out of Rio and some might have contracted Zika and dont know about it, and then all of a sudden instead of it being this virus thats contained in a certain part of the world, its now a global epidemic. And I think thats the real concern. So for me to go down there, even if I was to get Zika, its six months and its a virus and it works its way out of your system. And its nice that we can come back, and [if you] feel like youve had some of the symptoms down there, you can get tested for it, and its either a yes or a no youve had it. Masters champion Danny Willett is yet to decide on his participation in Brazil Im ready to play. I feel like the advice Ive sought out over the past 10 days has put my mind at ease and makes me more comfortable going down there knowing that, even if I do contract Zika, its not the end of the world. It takes six months to pass through your system and youre fine. Hawkins, who turns 41 in December, will compete with Rex Brothers for the closers role at spring training. St George Illawarra coach Paul McGregor has confirmed rookie Drew Hutchison will go back to reserve grade and veteran Benji Marshall will be granted a farewell on Saturday.A controversial call-up to the NRL following the axing of Marshall last week, Hutchison was solid in a try-scoring season debut in Mondays loss to Parramatta.McGregor was keen to see how his 21-year-old project would handle the step-up in competition, however his highlights reel will show plenty of his touches came behind a badly beaten forward pack. And while Hutchison put his 95-kilogram frame to good use with a powerful individual try from close range in the first half, McGregor believes he learnt how much more improvement is required. It was good for Drewy to get a game. He knows how hard it is and how much work he needs to do, and hes got plenty of time to do that before next season, McGregor said.Hes a bit tired in the shed there, as expected. He played 80 minutes and hasnt played it for quite some time.Hes only young. Hell work hard in tthe pre-season and get plenty of opportunity going forward.dddddddddddd.Dragons captain Gareth Widdop liked what he saw from his possible future halves partner, especially given they had planned to give him the lions share of the general play kicking. You want to back his ability and hes a great kicker of the football, Widdop said.I think we saw tonight a few good kicks from Drew. And we like to use peoples strengths. Youve got to back yourself and he did that.Former Kangaroos and NSW State of Origin No.7 Andrew Johns said it was too early to tell whether Hutchison had what it takes to become an established halfback.Hes a steady player. To me he doesnt look like a halfback. He looks like a back-rower. Hes done some nice things, but moving forward its up to him how hard he works, Johns told Triple M.The Dragons play their final game of the regular season against Newcastle on Saturday. ' ' '
