NFL Nation reporters predict the outcomes and scores for Sundays and Mondays Week 7 games.GIANTS AT RAMS (IN LONDON)New York GiantsThe Giants are vulnerable away from home against strong defensive fronts. They compiled fewer?than 340 yards of total offense against the Vikings, Packers and Cowboys. This could be troublesome against a strong Rams defensive line?that is getting healthier. They keep a Giants offense that has been inconsistent this season -- and has a banged-up Odell Beckham Jr. -- quiet most of the afternoon in London. Rams 21, Giants 20. -- Jordan RaananLos Angeles RamsBeckham?is a nightmare matchup for the Rams, who are without their primary cornerback in Trumaine Johnson. But Beckham isnt fully healthy, and the Rams defensive line will benefit from the return of Robert Quinn. Offensively, the Rams have gotten better. And they should do enough against a unit that is allowing 363.7 yards per game. Theyll find a way to avoid a three-game losing streak. Rams 28, Giants 24. -- Alden Gonzalez Derek Stepan Jersey . 10 Texas Rangers jersey for one last time. Young formally announced his retirement Friday after returning to Rangers Ballpark, his baseball home for all but the last of his 13 major league seasons. Bobby Hull Jersey . Keith Tkachuk Jersey . Aduriz headed home Markel Susaetas cross in the sixth minute to open the scoring at San Mames Stadium. He bettered that with a long-range blast that went in off the goal frame in the 18th, and converted a penalty in the 72nd after Diego Mainz was sent off for fouling Aduriz with only the goalkeeper to beat. Anders Hedberg Jersey . The defence is doing its part, too. Drew Brees threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first half and the guys on the other side made sure that was enough, sending the Saints to a 17-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. The World Series will finish late Wednesday, bringing an end to one of the longest title droughts in sports. The Chicago Cubs are trying to win their first series since 1908, and the Cleveland Indians their first since 1948.They are playing Game 7 in Cleveland. Here are some other teams and players who had to wait a long time between major titles.BRITAIN WINS DAVIS CUPAndy Murray ended Britains wait for the Davis Cup at 79 years when his lob finished off Belgiums David Goffin in the final in Ghent a year ago. Murray, who became Britains first mens Wimbledon champion in 77 years, starred in its first Davis Cup triumph since Fred Perry and Bunny Austin beat Australia in the 1936 final, when King Edward VIII wore the crown.CHELSEAChelsea won at Bolton 2-0 to capture the English football title in 2005, 50 years after its first. In manager Jose Mourinhos maiden season, Chelsea won with three games to spare. The teams hallmark was defense and goalkeeper Petr Cech, who kept 25 clean sheets. They conceded only 15 goals, and lost just once.SPAINSpain won the 1964 European Championship on home soil, beating the Soviet Union in the final, then flattered to deceive on soccers biggest stages for 44 years until Euro 2008. Germany was outclassed 1-0 in the final, and Spain began its reign of football, also grabbing the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012.REAL MADRIDWhen Real Madrid upset Juventus 1-0 in the 1998 Champions League final in Amsterdam, it ended a 32-year drought in the competition it cherishes most.dddddddddddd Madrids players were past their prime, while Juventus tore up the league, including putting six goals past Monaco over two legs in the semifinals to reach its third straight final. Madrids win didnt help coach Jupp Heynckes, who was sacked eight days later.INDIAThe shock 1983 Cricket World Cup triumph boosted the sports appeal in India, but the national team wouldnt win another World Cup for 28 years. India was host in 2011 when it knocked out titleholder Australia in the quarterfinals, and archrival Pakistan in the semis. Before a home TV audience of 135 million, India chased down Sri Lankas 274 score in the final with 10 balls to spare.KEN ROSEWALLKen Rosewall was banned from the tennis Grand Slams in his prime for 11 years after becoming a professional in 1957, but remarkably remained injury-free after tennis opened up in 1968. He won the Australian Open 16 years after his last, the French Open 15 years after his last, and the U.S. Open 14 years after his last. Hed win the Australian again, and reach the Wimbledon and U.S. finals at age 39. ' ' '

SUNRISE, Fla. -- The Florida Panthers are off to a good start on improving their play in overtime.Vincent Trocheck scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift the Panthers to a 4-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night. The Panthers only won one of seven overtime games last season, but have beaten the Devils in the extra period twice this season. It was a great win for us tonight. I didnt think we played a great game, but we found a way, Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said.Trocheck poked in a rebound past Cory Schneider after his initial shot was blocked with 43.4 seconds left in overtime. There were three of us on the rush so they gave me the lane and I took the shot, Trocheck said. Schneider is a good goalie and made the first save, and then the puck came back to me and I put in the rebound.Denis Malgin and Aaron Ekblad also scored for the Panthers and James Reimer made 33 saves. Reimer started in place of Roberto Luongo, who has lost his last three starts.Pavel Zacha, PA Parenteau and Travis Zajac scored for the Devils and Schneider stopped 25 shots.Devils wing Taylor Hall had a point blank shot on a breakaway 37 seconds into overtime but Reimer stopped the shot.We had some chances. I had a breakaway, the puck wouldnt stop rolling. Id love to have that one back, Hall said.Zacha tied the score 3-all with 3:55 left in the third period. Zachas shot from the slot beat Reimer for his first NHL goal.It was a good feeling, at the moment, when it was 3-3, Zacha said. Id feel much better if we won the game. The teams traded goals 20 seconds apart early in the third.Trocheck extended the Panthers lead to 3-1 when he took a nice feed from Jaromir Jagr in the right circle and one-timed the puck past Schneider at 4:29.The Devils answered when Parenteau took a pass from John Moore in the right circle and beat Reimer to cut the deficit to 3-2.When you look at the baseball game (Wednesday) night, leads arent a for-sure thing, Reimer said. We battled hard and Troch came up with a big goal in OT.The Devils were behind 2-0 and 3-1 but took the game into overtime.I liked the fact that we were able to find a way to be able to come back and get a point, being down two, Devils coach John Hynes said. Theres lots of positives to be able to take out of that. The Devils closed to 2-1 on a power-play goal by Zajac, whose shot was blocked but deflected off the skate of Panthers defenseman Alex Petrovic and into the net with 1:56 left in the second. After going 0 for 7 on the power play in Tuesdays 2-1 loss to Boston, the Panthers converted on their first two opportunities. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Ekblad. Keith Yandle passed from the slot to Ekblad high in the left circle. Ekblads one-timer got by Schneider with 7:02 left in the first.Florida stretched its lead to 2-0 on Malgins power-play goal at 6:44 of the second. Malgins shot from low in the right circle went past Schneiders glove. The 19-year-old recorded his first NHL goal on Tuesday against Boston.Game notes Jagr played in his 1,640th NHL game, passing Dave Andreychuk and moving into sixth all-time on the league list. Next up: No. 5 Chris Chelios (1,651) and No. 4 Mark Recchi (1,652). The earliest Jagr could pass Gordie Howe (1,767) for the NHL record would be in the second half of the 2017-18 season. ... Gallant said C Nick Bjugstad (hand) and LW Jussi Jokinen (lower body) could be back with the team as early as next week. ... TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Jimbo Fisher lauded Florida State University President John Thrasher Tuesday for seeing the big picture the day after the school announced the coachs contract extension.Fisher, 77-17 in seven seasons at Florida State, signed a two-year extension that will keep him at the school through the 2024 season. It is the second time in two years Fisher has had his contract redone by Thrasher.Weve really built something really special and I want to continue it for a long time, Fisher said. I think President Thrasher has been awesome with that and seeing the big picture with everything that goes on. He loves it and understands what we do. We understand our importance to this university too and how we represent it and things that go on.Since Fisher took over the program in 2010 after the retirement of Bobby Bowden, Florida State has redone its practice fields, built an indoor facility, overhauled the locker room and added a players lounge.A bigger renovation of Doak Campbell Stadium is a long-term priority but something that is more immediate is adding new athlete dorms along with an athletics academic center. Thrasher said he is hopeful that he can begin adding private funding for that early next year and is hopefuul that more concrete plans can be finalized before the fall.ddddddddddddEven though he received plenty of questions from reporters about the opening at LSU after Les Miles was fired, Fisher said wasnt asked about it too many times from members of his coaching staff, players or potential recruits. The 10th-ranked Seminoles (9-3) wrapped up the first portion of practices for their Dec. 30 game against No. 6 Michigan in the Orange Bowl. The players are off until Saturday, when they will travel to South Florida and resume preparations.Fisher said he would have preferred spending Christmas in Tallahassee but that the timetable did not work out.Well practice a little bit on Christmas day then well have a dinner that night and everything together like a family and try to spend a lot of time with them, he said. We start school a little bit later than normal, (Jan. 9) so they get back a couple extra days for the holidays. Itll be good to be with them and everybody.---More AP college football: www.collegefootball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP-Top25---Follow Joe Reedy on Twitter at www.twitter.com/joereedy ' ' '

A dominant offensive display from Diamonds shooters Caitlyn Bassett and Caitlyn Thwaites has led the world champions to a 68-43 win over South Africa in their Netball Quad Series opener. The 193cm Bassett and 188cm Thwaites, playing a half each in Auckland, repeatedly employed their height and reach advantage over Proteas defender Phumza Maweni to good use.The pair scored a combined 51 points as Australia eased to victory over a valiant South Africa outfit, who bettered their 35-point thumping against the Diamonds in the World Cup.Goal attack Natalie Medhurst nailed a further 12 points before making way for debutant Stephanie Wood, who scored five. The world champions went on the offensive from the get-go, repeatedly hitting Bassett with passes over the top from midcourters Kim Ravaillion and the returning Madi Robinson.Bassett netted 16 of her 17 shots in the first quarter as the Diamonds raced to a nine-point lead.At the other end of the court, goalkeeper Sharni Layton ensured the absence of skipper Laura Geitz didnt impact too heavily on the side, marshalling from the back with authority and restricting limiting Proteas shooter Lenize Potgieter to eight points. The match followed a similar pattern in the second quarter, as the Diamonds put their foot down.Ravaillion and Robinson snared a combined 17 goal assists over the two quarters to take the Diamonds into the halftime break ahead 36-20.Coach Lisa Alexander rung in the changes at the halftime break, introducing April Brandley into the defence and young gun Liz Watson as centre.Bassett was also given a breather for the second half, swapped out for Thwaites after her 28-goal showing.A closer third quarter ensued, with the Proteas limiting the third-quarter tally to 14-10.Wood and fellow defensive debutant Kristiana Manua were both given their Diamonds debut in the fourth quarter as the Diamonds wound down the clock.Thwaites, 29, finished her half on the court with a perfect 23 points from 23 shots. LOUIS -- Alexander Steen scored a power-play goal with 59. OTTAWA -- The Ottawa Senators will try to build on one of the most emotional victories in franchise history when they play the first of 10 November home games on Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes at Canadian Tire Centre. They will attempt once again to rally around goalie Craig Anderson, whose wife Nicholle was recently diagnosed with cancer.Anderson left the team to be with Nicholle after shutting out the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 25 in the first of a three-game road trip to western Canada. When the Senators lost backup goalie Andrew Hammond to a groin injury on Oct. 28 in Calgary, Nicholle urged her husband to rejoin the team.Anderson arrived in time to pitch another shutout on Sunday, this time a 37-save performance against the Edmonton Oilers. At the end of the night, he broke into tears. He held a strong face, but you could still see the pain in his eyes, Senators captain Erik Karlsson said of Anderson, who was recognized on Monday as the NHLs first star of the week for stopping all 59 shots he faced. He came in here and led by example. He didnt say much, had the same routine, and showed what a true leader he is. He did a hell of a game and got us the two points.Senators coach Guy Boucher said he was left speechless by the character both his goalie and team showed against Edmonton. We love hockey, its a great game, Boucher told reporters Sunday. But there are things bigger, and there are a lot of people who showed that tonight. The Senators (5-3-0) will play host to the Hurricanes ((2-4-2) twice in November.dddddddddddd Last season, they were 1-0-2 against Carolina. The Hurricanes most recently lost 4-3 at home to the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday. Their 3.75 team goals-against average is fourth highest in the league. Were giving up too much, coach Bill Peters told the teams website. Its not a recipe for success, short term or long term. Our details arent very good. It compounds itself. Puck management is the biggest thing we have to address. After facing the Senators, the Hurricanes will be off until visiting the Nashville Predators on Saturday. Its been a tough start, but it will be nice to get a few practices in after a big game in Ottawa, hopefully a good win, center Jordan Staal told the Hurricanes website. Well continue to work on the things we need to work on to be a better team. While Hurricanes center Victor Rask has picked up at least one point in every game this season, Senators winger Mike Hoffman finally scored his first goal of the campaign in Edmonton.Hoffman has been Ottawas top marksman in each of the past two seasons.Coming in here and facing one of the best teams in the league was a big task for us, Hoffman said of the Edmonton game. We all wanted to play for (Anderson) and do everything we could. Its a tough situation. Hes a huge part of this team and for him to come in here and stand on his head like that ... were a family. Its been a disappointing season for the Tampa Bay Rays, who will finish last in the American League East for the first time since 2007.However, there have been some bright spots for the Rays this year, including Logan Forsythe, Evan Longoria, Brad Miller and Jake Odorizzi. So who has been their MVP? Cast your vote in the poll below (stats entering Friday). The Rays wrap up the regular season with a series against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park this weekend. Jaroslav Spacek Jersey . Tests earlier this week revealed a Grade 2 left hamstring strain for Sabathia, who was hurt in last Fridays start against San Francisco. Its an injury that will require about eight weeks to heal. He finished a disappointing campaign just 14-13 with a career-worst 4. Jim Schoenfeld Jersey . Belfort (24-10) needed just 77 seconds to down Henderson in the headlining bout of Saturdays "UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Henderson" event at Goiania Arena in Goiania, Brazil. The fight served as a rematch of the pairs 2006 meeting, which Henderson won by decision. https://www.cheapsabres.com/1703v-sam-reinhart-jersey-sabres.html . Brett Kulak and Jackson Houck of the Vancouver Giants were each charged with assault causing bodily harm on Aug. 18, according to the B.C. court services. Rasmus Dahlin Jersey . -- The St. Johns IceCaps weathered a wild first period with the help of goaltender Jussi Olkinuora, before finding offensive inroads in the second. Chris Drury Jersey .C. - The Carolina Hurricanes have placed backup goalie Anton Khudobin on injured reserve with an unspecified lower-body injury. Rutgers has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA accusing the football program of seven potential violations and charging it with failure to monitor, school president Robert Barchi announced Tuesday. In an open letter posted on Rutgers website, Barchi said the charges stemmed from an 18-month joint investigation between the school and the NCAA that mostly involved former head coach Kyle Flood. One of the allegations involves Flood contacting a professor over the academic status of former defensive back Nadir Barnwell. Flood was suspended for three games last season because of that meddling and was eventually fired.Flood was also charged with failing to promote an atmosphere of compliance in the football program and violating the principles of NCAA head coach responsibility legislation, both Level II NCAA infractions, meaning a significant breach of conduct.Other allegations include improper contact with a recruit in 2014 by a former football assistant; a lack of supervision of the teams host/hostess program from 2011-12 and in 2015 that led to improper contact with recruits; and a failure to follow proper procedures in the drug testing program, including not suspending players or notifying the athletic director after positive tests. With the exception of the improper contact in 2014, these were deemed Level II infractions. The NCAA alleged that between September 2011 and the fall of 2015, former sports medicine director Robert Monaco and Flood allowed 16 players who tested positive for banned substances to continue playing without any disciplinary measures. Monaco also failed to notify the athletic director of several positive tests, the NCAA said, and at least two players were not told that they had tested positive. Monaco did not identify additional positive tests by 18 players as additional violations of the schools drug policy, according to the report.dddddddddddd.The accused former football assistant is Darrell Wilson, former defensive backs coach who is alleged to have a several-minute conversation in a hallway with a recruit during an impermissible contact period. Wilson later provided false or misleading information to NCAA investigators about the contact, according to the allegations. The contact was deemed Level III (breach of contact) and the latter determined to be Level II.The NCAA alleged that Flood did not demonstrate that he promoted an atmosphere for compliance or monitored his staff within the football program.Barchi said Rutgers is fully cooperating with the NCAA and has already taken many corrective measures, including the suspension and firing of Flood, as well as dismissing the former assistant coach, two hostesses and former athletic director Julie Hermann. Patrick Hobbs took over the athletic department in November 2015.In addition, Barchi said the school instituted a new drug testing policy in August and hired a new chief medical officer to oversee it in 2016.Despite my disappointment over these allegations, I believe we are a stronger university because of our immediate and transparent response to them, Barchi wrote, and you have my word that we will continue to strive for excellence with integrity.Rutgers senior vice president of external affairs Pete McDonough said he doesnt believe the school is considering any further self-imposed penalties at this point. The school is still going through the official notice from the NCAA.I dont think there is any consideration to do anything other than digest what we have at the moment, McDonough said.Information from ESPNs Dan Murphy was used in this report. The Tennessee Titans are making believers out of lots of folks. The idea that they could win the AFC South is very much alive after their victory over Denver.Should the Titans come out of Kansas City with another win on Sunday, the question might become are they good enough to not only make the playoffs, but do damage there? With Marcus Mariota showing franchise-quarterback temperament and skills, DeMarco Murray leading a powerful running game behind an improving line, and a stingy run defense, Tennessee seems to be arriving a year early as a contender.Well continue to grow, Mariota says. Theres always areas to improve, but I think its fun to be around a group thats growing and learning at the same time. You can see the confidence throughout the locker room. That confidence has led to a 7-6 record -- Tennessee has won three of four -- and a meaningful final month of the year. Its a fun atmosphere to be a part of. This is what you work all year for is to have an opportunity in December to make a run at the playoffs, Mariota adds. Not only are the Chiefs (10-3) a factor in the AFC West, they could secure a playoff berth with a win and both Miami and Denver either losing or tying, or Denver and Baltimore or Pittsburgh losing.Coach Andy Reids eyes are focused only on the Titans, who knocked off defending Super Bowl champion Denver last week.Theyre hotter than a firecracker right now, Reid says. They play hard, they know what theyre doing. Their defense, Dick LeBeau is a Hall of Famer as a coach and a player. Hes very good at what he does, and the guys look like they believe in what theyre doing.Reid can tie Bill Parcells (183) for 10th on the NFL wins list. The action began Thursday night with Russell Wilson throwing three touchdown passes and Seattle beating Los Angeles 24-3 to win the NFC West title.Wilson was 19 of 26 for 229 yards, and Tyler Lockett had 130 yards receiving with a 57-yard scoring catch. Seattle (9-4-1) claimed its third NFC West title in four seasons, assuring itself of at least one home game in the playoffs.A tumultuous few days for the Rams (4-10) after the firing of Jeff Fisher as head coach culminated in their fifth straight loss and first under interim coach John Fassel. On Saturday night, Matt Moore threw four touchdown passes in his first game as Ryan Tannehills replacement to help Mimai rout the New York Jets 34-13.In his first start since Jan. 1, 2012 -- a Dolphins victory over the Jets, with current New York coach Todd Bowles serving as interim Miami coach -- Moore picked apart the mistake-prone hosts. The Dolphins (9-5) clinched their first winning season since 2008. The Jets are 4-10.Tampa Bay (8-5) at Dallas (11-2)This game was flexed to prime time and with good reason. Yes, the Cowboys had their 11-game win streak snapped by the Giants, the only team to beat them in 2016, but they still have the NFC East and the overall top seed in the conference in sight. The division belongs to Dallas if it wins and the Giants dont, or it ties and the Giants lose. Home-field advantage comes if the Cowboys win and the Giants tie the Lions.Tampa has won five straight; the previous time that happened, the Bucs won the NFL title in 2002. They have an NFL-high 10 interceptions in those five games. On offense, Jameis Winston to Mike Evans has been a top combination, and Doug Martin is averaging 102 yards from scrimmage in his past 13 road games.Yes, the Bucs might have the players to match up with Dallas star rookies, RB Ezekiel Elliott, the NFLs leading rusher, and QB Zak Prescott .Detroit (9-4) at New York Giants (9-4)Two more teams in the heart of the NFC chase, though the Lions are in a stronger spot. They lead the North and can secure a position if they win and the Packers dont, or if they tie and both the Packers and Vikings lose.A playoff berth is within a long reach for the Giants. They must win and have Washington lose, Minnesota and Green Bay both lose or tie. They still can grab the NFC East if they stay hot and Dallas slumps. If this one is close, as it figures to be -- both teams rarely have lopsided contests, with Detroit winning eight times despite trailing in the fourth period -- watch out for Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. His game-breaking skills were on display in the 10-7 victory over Dallas last Sunday night.Oakland (10-3) at San Diego (5-8)OK, Raiders fans, here are some words youve been waiting to hear since Rich Gannon took you to the Super Bowl in 2002: Oakland makes the playoffs with a win.Tied for the lead in the AFC West (Kansas City holds the tiebreaker), the Raiders also can get in without a win, but that requires lots of help.San Diego is playing out the string, perhaps on the field for the penultimate time in Qualcomm Stadium. The Chargers soon must exercise their option to move to Los Angeles, and any stadium deals to remain in San Diego appear to be a long shot.New England (11-2) at Denver (8-5)As usual, the Patriots are pushing for the AFCs best record. With a win they would become the first team in NFL history with eight consecutive division titles. While they cant clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs this weekend, they could grab the East simply by Miami not beating the Jets. A first-round bye comes with a Patriots win, too.Denver has not been one of Tom Bradys favorite places. The Broncos are the only team Brady has a losing record against: 6-9, 2-7 in Denver, including two losses last season, the second for the AFC championship. And the Broncos still have that strong defense. But Denvers offense has sputtered badly and cant afford a shootout with New England. For the Broncos to have a chance to repeat as champs, they must negotiate the toughest closing trio of opponents: New England, Kansas City and Oakland.Green Bay (7-6) at Chicago (3-10)Pro footballs longest rivalry could be deadlocked if Green Bay wins and keeps its playoff hopes breathing. Chicago leads 94-93-6, but the Packers have won six in a row at Soldier Field. Their defense has come alive in a three-game win streak that revitalized Cheeseheads everywhere.Aaron Rodgers is 14-4 against the Bears, including postseason. He leads the NFL with 32 TD passes, but hurt his right calf last week and missed some practice time. The Bears get back WR Alshon Jeffery from a four-game suspension for violating the leagues policy against performance enhancers.Indianapolis (6-7) at Minnesota (7-6)After falling at home to Houston in a first-place matchup, the Colts stagger into Minnesota, where the Vikings are barely in contention as well.Colts RB Frank Gore needs 77 yards from scrimmage to pass Tony Dorsett for 10th on the career list.Adrian Peterson told Dash Radio on Friday that he plans to return to the Minnesota Vikings backfield after missing 11 games with a torn meniscus in his right knee. Peterson had targeted next week against Green Bay for his return.Jacksonville (2-11) at Houston (7-6)Houston is tied with Tennessee for the AFC South lead. Its defense has made the difference recently, which is impressive considering its star player, J.J. Watt, has been sidelined for months. The Jaguars have lost eight straight, while Houston has won nine in a row in the division. Mismatch?San Francisco (1-12) at Atlanta (8-5)Doesnt look as if we need the question mark after mismatch for this one.The 49ers blew a big lead to the Jets, of all opponents, and havent won since their opener. Their defense is a sieve and now they take on Atlantas high-powered offense.Sure, the 49ers have won the past three games in this series, but those were different teams, different times.Falcons QB Matt Ryan is having his best season and Atlanta hopes to have back top receivers Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu.Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley is tied for the NFL lead with 13+ sacks and leads with six forced fumbles.Pittsburgh (8-5) at Cincinnati (5-7-1)The Bengals advertised tickets available for this one, so look for thousands of Terrible Towels to wave at Paul Brown Stadium. The Steelers feel comfortable there anyway, having taken the past three and six of seven, including that 18-16 wild-card playoff last January when penalties on Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict and CB Adam Pacman Jones set up Pittsburghs winning field goal in the final seconds.Pittsburghs offense is in gear behind RB LeVeon Bell, who set a club record with 236 yards rushing last week at Buffalo. WR Antonio Brown needs seven catches for a fourth straight season with 100, while Ben Roethlisberger and Brown have combined for 49 TDs, tied with Terry Bradshaw and Lynn Swann for the most in team history.Philadelphia (5-8) at Baltimore (7-6)Baltimore cant afford to stumble here and have a reasonable shot at the postseason. The Eagles are 1-6 on the road, with six losses in a row. Baltimore has the NFLs best defense in home games, allowing an average of 250.6 yards and 13.1 points.Perfection didnt suit Ravens placekicker Justin Tucker, who had a field goal blocked in the loss to New England, his first miss of any kind this season.Carolina (5-8) at Washington (7-5-1), Monday nightCornerback Josh Normans chance to meet up with the team that franchise-tagged him, then removed it and allowed him to head to the nations capital.Carolina has won four straight in the series. Washington struggles against tight ends, so watch for Panthers standout Greg Olsen.Redskins LB Ryan Kerrigan has 11 sacks and presents a major threat to Cam Newton.Cleveland (0-13) at Buffalo (6-7)Ah, yes, the winless Browns. Only three teams have gone 0-14. Cleveland hasnt tasted victory in a calendar year. Not to be outdone in the grand scheme of failure the Bills have lost two straight and are in jeopardy of extending the NFLs longest active playoff drought to 17 seasons -- the worst since New Orleans ended a 20-year streak in 1987.New Orleans (5-8) at Arizona (5-7-1)Few teams have been more disappointing this season than the Cardinals, who played for the NFC title in January. They play out the string now, with only RB David Johnsons accomplishments worth noting. He joined Edgerrin James as the only players to have at least 100 yards from scrimmage in the first 13 games of a season. No one has done it for the first 14.New Orleans and Jacksonville are the only teams not to have a winning record at any point in the past three seasons. Punishing Semi Radradra for breaking his Parramatta contract would smack of double standards, Wayne Bennett says. The master coach said it would be unfair if Radradra was penalised by the same NRL club that this year offloaded two contracted players to clear salary cap space and ensure they could play for points.Parramatta are sweating on Radradra to return from his native Fiji ahead of Saturdays NRL clash with Cronulla after giving him personal leave to visit his unwell father. It has fuelled rumours that the Test winger will switch to European rugby. His future has been further complicated by news his former partner applied for an interim apprehended violence order, claiming he had assaulted her on three occasions between September 2014 and April 2015.Eels great Peter Sterling said there must be consequences if Radradra did not see out his contract which expires at the end of the 2017 season. But Bennett said those calling for Radradra to be punished had short memories. He could not see a difference between Jarryd Hayne leaving for the NFL or Sonny Bill Williams abrupt 2008 switch to rugby.Asked if it would be ridiculous to ban Radradra, Bennett said: Of course it would be - they didnt ban Sonny Bill. And there have been others.Jarryd Hayne was under contract with Parramatta when he left, and we all applauded what he did.Contracts are a two way thing, the employee has some rights too.Parramatta will reportedly seek $7000,000 - including $200,000 for damaging the Eels brand - in compensation from Radradra if he walks.ddddddddddddBennett said any talk of penalties from Parramatta was a bit rich after they offloaded contracted duo Nathan Peats and Ryan Morgan to clear salary cap space this year.Youve seen Parramatta move on players quickly - they all had contracts too, he said. When it goes the other way and the player doesnt want to fulfil his part of the contract we all cry poor.I have always seen a great unfairness in all that.Former Queensland playmaker Ben Ikin said the Eels reported demands were almost laughable. This is the same club through...the mismanagement of their salary cap forced Nathan Peats out of his contract...to move his family interstate (to Gold Coast and) Ryan Morgan had to shift to Melbourne, Ikin told Fox Sports NRL 360 TV show. That they (now) want money for contract dollars yet to be earned by Semi and (for) damage to their brand. You could not do any more damage to the Parramatta Eels brand.Meanwhile, Radradras sister Vaseva Waqavatu said the Test winger had been upset by the recent domestic violence claims. He said it was all bulls**t and made-up stories - we dont believe he could do something so common, Waqavatu told News Corp. The matter is listed for Parramatta court on Tuesday. MUNICH -- Bayern Munich dispelled any doubts about its commitment by ending a three-match winless run with a comfortable 4-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday.Bayern wobbled briefly after PSV had cut the deficit to 2-1 but quickly restored its dominance to extend its Champions League home record of 14 consecutive wins. PSV lost after a 21-match unbeaten run away from home in all competitions.Thomas Mueller opened the scoring in the 13th, Joshua Kimmich doubled the lead in the 21st, before Luciano Narsingh pulled one back for the visiting team in the 43rd with its first shot at goal.Robert Lewandowski scored in the 59th, just as PSV seemed to be making a comeback and Arjen Robben got the insurance in the 84th.Bayern now has six points in Group D, while Atletico Madrid, which won 1-0 in Rostov, has nine. PSV and FC Rostov are both one point each. The win puts Bayern back on course for a place in the last 16 following its defeat at Madrid. After that loss, Bayern drew its next two Bundesliga matches, leading club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to question the players attitude.Carlo Ancelottis team quickly seized control and nearly monopolized possession in the first half. But Bayerns defense showed some weaknesses when PSV stepped up the pace after its goal.We played with high intensity from the start, Ancelotti said. It was a good reaction, although we had some problems at the end of the first half and at the start of the second. But we took the match very seriously and professionally. With critics saying he had given his players too much freedom, Ancelotti took them to a hotel the night before the match for the first time before a home game.Mueller opened the scoring after Robbens quickly taken corner, before PSVs defense had the time to settle. Robben played the ball to Mueller at the near post, his first attempt was stopped by Jeroen Zoet, but Mueller got the rebound, moved the ball to his left foot and fired into the roof of the net.Kimmich doubled the lead after another run down the left by David Alaba. His cross was deflected by Joshua Brenet and Kimmich at far post headed from close range for his seventh goal of the season and third in the Champions League.Earlier, another cross from Alaba hit Hector Moreno and bounced off the post.PSV got back into the match briefly after its counterattacking goal. Gaston Pereiro sent a through ball for Narsingh, who unleashed a fierce shot. Manuel Neuer got his finger tips on the ball but could not prevent it from bouncing inside of the far post into the net.Lewandowski shot wide after good pass from Thiago Alcantara at the start of the second half and Luuk de Jong went close for PSV with a header.Pereiro then had a volley shot saved by Neuer, while Zoet foiled Kimmich.Bayern ended PSVs hopes when Lewandowski made it 3-1. Robben shook off two players, cut inside from the right and shot on target. Zoet could only parry the shot and Lewandowski pounced to head in. Lewandowski has 15 goals in his last 14 games for club and country.Mueller then shot straight at Zoet, who also stopped an effort by Robben.De Jong tussled with Mats Hummels in the 69th but did not get a penalty call. MINNEAPOLIS -- David Ortiz insists he isnt trying to do anything special to show the Minnesota Twins they made a big mistake by letting him go in 2002. It just looks that way every time he crushes another ball into the Target Field seats. Ortiz homered twice and drove in six runs to torment his former team once again, leading the Boston Red Sox to a 12-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday night. "It used to be," Ortiz said when asked if there was extra motivation when he played the Twins. "Not anymore. I just go about my business. I try to hit the moon every time I go to hit anywhere. Its not new." Dustin Pedroia had two hits, two walks and an RBI, extending his hitting streak to 10 games. Daniel Nava also went deep for the Red Sox, who have won four straight following a slide in which they had lost 10 of 14. Scott Diamond (3-4) gave up six runs on eight hits and walked three in 4 1-3 innings for the Twins, who have lost four in a row to fall into last place in the AL Central. Pedro Florimon had two hits and two RBIs and Joe Mauer extended his hitting streak to 15 games with two hits. Craig Breslow (1-0) pitched 1 2-3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. Ortiz also had a single and a walk, raising his batting average to .362 in a game that lasted 3 hours, 53 minutes. "His performance is as good as youre going to find in the league right now," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. Twins general manager Terry Ryan has long been one of the most respected executives in the game. But one of his biggest mistakes came in 2002 when he released Ortiz, who had just appeared to start putting things together in his sixth big league season. The move is still haunting Ryan and the Twins 11 years later. Ortiz signed with the Red Sox, and promptly blossomed into one of the most feared hitters in the American League, a central figure in Bostons two World Series championships and the kind of slugger the Twins have been searching for ever since. He wears No. 34 in honour of the late Kirby Puckett and seems to take particular delight in hammering his former team. Ortiz is 19 for 37 with five homers and 16 RBIs at Target Field. "The one guy we say dont let beat us is David Ortiz," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said.dddddddddddd "Theyve got a lot of really good hitters over there, but we told them to stay away from this guy, dont give in to him. And he keeps sending souvenirs." Diamond laboured from the start, falling behind 3-0 after 19 pitches. Ortiz jumped on a flat slider and drove it into the seats in right-centre field for his sixth homer of the season. Red Sox starter Ryan Dempster wasnt much better. He walked four hitters in the second and third innings to load the bases in both frames, but the right-hander got Mauer to chase a breaking ball down and away to escape in the second and then got Aaron Hicks to fly out to deep right field to end the third. Dempster needed a staggering 127 pitches to get through just 4 2-3 innings. He gave up five runs on eight hits and walked six. "I just couldnt get consistency with any of my pitches," Dempster said. "I kept missing away with it. I really didnt have any of my pitches tonight." Down 7-5 in the sixth, the Twins loaded the bases again. But Pedroia made a nifty over-the-shoulder catch in shallow right field, then whirled and easily threw out Ryan Doumit at home on a major base-running blunder. Ortiz and Nava busted the game open with two-run homers in the seventh, giving Ortiz his 40th career multi-homer game. "Hes swinging the bat great right now," Pedroia said. "Everything he hits is hard. He looks great up there." NOTES: The Red Sox played without OFs Shane Victorino and Stephen Drew because of back injuries. Farrell said both were hopeful of playing on Sunday. ... Mauer returned to the lineup after missing Friday night with a stiff back. ... Diamond and Dempster were facing each other for the second time this season, becoming the first pair of Canadian starters to meet more than once in a season since at least 1920, according to the Red Sox. ... The Twins will send LHP Pedro Hernandez (2-0, 5.79) to the mound on Sunday for the finale against Boston RHP John Lackey (1-4, 4.05). Lackey is looking to bounce back from a poor start against Tampa Bay, when he gave up five runs in 4 1-3 innings. ' ' '

We analyse the key talking points and questions to look out for in the Premier League on Sunday. After Saturdays action it is a truly super Sunday with five games across the day, with the north London derby getting the action underway at midday, two games at 2.15pm - with Liverpool v Watford live on Nissan Super Sunday - and Manchester United travelling to Swansea at 3pm. Football Score Centre app Sky Sports customers can watch Premier League goals and highlights every weekend at no extra cost It is all rounded off with Premier League champions Leicester hosting Midlands rivals West Brom at 4.30pm also live on Sky Sports with each game on Sunday featuring in-game clips of goals and incidents as well as half-time and full-time highlights. Its set to be a busy one and we look at the questions ahead of Sundays fixtures... Watch a preview of Sundays Premier League fixtures including Arsenal v Tottenham, Liverpool v Watford and Swansea v Manchester United. Can Spurs discover their scoring touch in the north London derby? (Arsenal v Tottenham - Sunday, 12pm)While questions over Arsenals longevity and ability to go the distance will remain whether they win, lose or draw this weekend, Spurs need to silence some of the doubts surrounding them. These have intensified in recent weeks after three successive league draws, in which two goals have been scored in the absence of the injured Harry Kane. Sunderland 1-4 Arsenal Vincent Janssen might have got his first league goal against Leicester last time out, but that was from the penalty spot, and collectively Spurs are not scoring enough.Heung-Min Sons goals have dried up after four in three league matches, Erik Lamela has not scored in the league since opening day, and Christian Eriksen is yet to find the net. The rise of Son We chart the journey of Heung-Min Son from South Korea to Tottenham via Germany... With Mauricio Pochettino saying Kane is a maybe to face Arsenal on Sunday, Spurs might again have to look for goals elsewhere. If they cant find them, they could find themselves six points off the Premier League pace-setters by the end of the weekend. How does Mike Phelan stop the slide? (Hull v Southampton - Sunday, 2.15pm)Short on fit players, short on positive results, shorter on the coaching staff after Gary Walshs departure to Aston Villa - things arent exactly looking bright for Hull right now. Watford 1-0 Hull They have lost six straight Premier League games and another defeat this Sunday would put the club in their worst run of form at any level since 1980.In terms of scorelines they have shown marginal improvement in recent weeks, following their 6-1 thrashing at Bournemouth with a 2-0 defeat to Stoke and then a 1-0 loss to Watford.Defender Harry Maguire said this week that its about momentum and Hull need to get something on the board. Southampton have generally performed well under Claude Puel so far this season If Mike Phelan is setting objectives, a clean sheet might be near the top. Hull have kept just one this season, but if they can shut out Southampton it would provide something to build on ahead of a potentially crucial run of fixtures that sees them face Sunderland, West Brom, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and West Ham.Will the Reds defence make their case? (Liverpool v Watford- Sunday, 12.15pm live on Nissan Super Sunday) Crystal Palace 2-4 Liverpool Described on Monday Night Football as the real deal by Jamie Carragher, Liverpool are on a roll. But even with five wins and a draw from their last six matches, there are still question marks over the defence, which has let in more goals than any other side in the top six. Watch NOW TV Watch Sky Sports for just £6.99. No contract. They have also kept just one clean sheet this season, and hardly covered themselves in glory in last weekends win at Crystal Palace. Liverpool vs Watford November 6, 2016, 1:30pm Live on Get Sky Sports Get a Sky Sports pass Goalkeeper Loris Karius has been trying to familiarise himself with the physical side of the game by training with rugby pads, but what can the defence do?Jurgen Klopp has vowed to sort it out, and the return of James Milner should be a boost. If Klopp can fix the issues at the back then Liverpool really could be rolling.Could this be a confidence-boosting fixture, but for who? (Swansea v Man Utd - Sunday, 3pm) Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo believes the club are heading in the right direction after keeping back-to-back clean sheets What happened to the honeymoon period? Jose Mourinhos was short and sweet at Manchester United; Bob Bradleys has been non-existent at Swansea. The American has taken charge of three games, picking up just one point in a home draw with Watford. After defeat at Stoke on Monday, Bradley admitted confidence is low and the only way to improve a concerning situation is to start getting results. Le Tiss Premier League verdict Matt Le Tissier gives his Premier League review, picking his stars, champions & bottom three United are not in a totally dissimilar position. Their form as of late has been stuttering, with two wins, three draws and a loss in their last six matches. Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears to epitomise their problems with his crisis of confidence, having somehow failed to end his scoring drought against Burnley and now without a goal in nine hours. If confidence is key, who can seize the initiative on Sunday? Will the Foxes continue their strong home form? (Leicester v West Brom - Sunday, 4.30pm live on Nissan Super Sunday) Tottenham 1-1 Leicester Has the Champions League had a negative impact on Leicester this season? The results dont seem to suggest so, with three wins from three matches immediately after playing in Europe.Perhaps crucially, on each occasion after a European exertion they have been playing at home, as they are this weekend. Leicester vs W Brom November 6, 2016, 4:15pm Live on Get Sky Sports Get a Sky Sports pass Their struggles on the road have been well documented - one point from five games, and that coming against Spurs last Saturday - but at the King Power they have been a different animal.Their form at home is among the best in the league, with three wins, two draws, eight goals scored and just two conceded. India 319 for 4 (Vijay 126, Pujara 124) trail England 537 by 218 runsScorecard and ball-by-ball detailsCheered on by his passionate but impassive father and his much more demonstrative wife, Cheteshwar Pujara scored an emotional century in the debut Test for his home ground of Rajkot. M Vijay complemented him with a more temperate defensive display of 126 off 301 balls to take India closer to safety after they had conceded 537 in five sessions on a pitch expected to become difficult as the game progressed. The 209-run partnership between Vijay and Pujara made them the most prolific duo for India since the start of 2010.The pitch didnt deteriorate as much as expected, but to look at scores of 537 and 319 for 4 and conclude that it was a featherbed that produced boring cricket will be a disservice to the batsmen and bowlers who showed a lot of discipline and persistence. There was turn on offer but not variable, and there was a bare patch on a good length for seamers to work with. While for most periods of the day the Englands bowlers kept the batsmen honest without necessarily threatening them, they will be disappointed the quicks failed to generate reverse and the spinners got cut and pulled regularly. There was always something to work with, but whenever the bowlers got it right, Vijay and Pujara, who came together when Gautam Gambhirs feet got him into a messy tangle to the seventh ball of the day, worked hard to thwart them. Especially while having to go through almost scoreless periods against the seam of Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad. In the first session Woakes tested them with a five-over spell of six runs and three body blows for Pujara. In the second session Broad went 5-4-1-0, targeting that bare patch just short of a driving length. In the final session Broad and Ben Stokes asked questions with the new ball.During the Woakes spell in the morning, 14 runs came in 10 overs. While Broad charged in mid-afternoon, 10 overs yielded 18 runs and a chance shelled by debutant by Haseeb Hameed at short cover. Unlike Pujara, Vijay had driven on the up to a ball that landed in that dry patch, and was reprieved on 66. India then welcomed DRS when Pujara successfully reviewed an lbw call when on 86, with extra bounce helping overturn the on-field decision. While England didnt give the batsmen much to work with, the batsmen were good enough to recognise spells of play they could exploit. Scoring happened in spurts. Pujara came out and attacked Moeen Ali - out twice to the offspinner in 53 balls before this Test, he used his feet to disrupt his length. India had added 41 in nine overs to their overnight 63 in this period as Pujara raced away to 25 off 29.Then came Woakes. He didnt just bowl short at Pujara, he bowled an excellent line, straight at his lid. Pujara, committing to the front foot almost every delivery, kept taking his eye off the ball while trying to sway. To his credit, Pujara never threw his hands up in self-defence, which would have brought the glove or the edge into play. Arvind Pujara, his father who was a wicketkeeper for Saurashtra, watched on without emotion. Puja, his wife, looked concerned. Pujara scored 6 off 32 in these 10 overs. Once Woakes was done, England went to the man who makes things happen for them. This follow-up after that stranglehold was crucial with half an hour to go to lunch. Stokes, though, began with a half-volley second ball. Pujaras intent meant he was on to it to drive it to the cover point boundary. Then a straight ball was glanced away, and Pujara had found his flow again. From 118 for 1, India added 44 in this period of eight overs to own the session. In the space of 25 balls, Pujara hit six boundaries to double his score of 31.Vijay at the other end had his own flow. For long periods of time you only noticed him when a possible two was kept to one because Pujara is not the quickest runner. Otherwise he would be leaving balls outside off, defending those at the stumps, and taking ones or twos only when they were too short or too straight. Vijay was there for his partner, though. After Pujara had been hit for the third time, he got right behind a ball in defence. At the non-strikers end, Vijays bat went in the air, and the glove knocked it in applause, reassuring his partner that he just needed to get through that period of play. This amount of concentration can be exhausting especially when you are going at a little better than a run every three balls like Vijay was. Vijay, though, had one tool at his disposal: the lofted shot against the spinners. Every now and then, without any rhyme or reason, never ostensibly looking for a release, he would step out to spinners and languidly chip them back over their head. He attempted it six times, hitting two sixes each off Moeen And Zafar Ansari, and a four each off Ansari and Adil Rashid. Those 32 runs were the lubricant for his innings, the final session of which he spent hobbling after being hit in the knee. There was no spurt in the middle session in which 66 runs came. The drama in the middle session belonged to the Pujara family. Ansaris reintroduction brought the first bit of natural variation. Pujara was caught right in front, but given the bounce in the pitch - earlier a Rashid googly had failed to draw an lbw verdict because of that reason - and also with the reviews to be reset in 10 overs, he challenged the decision. Finally Arvind showed emotion, that of visible relief as his son, whose cricket has been his preoccupation for more than a decade, was allowed to go for the 14 runs needed to bring up his century.Pujara gave everybody a nervous few minutes, spending eight balls on 99 before coming back after tea to score the 100th run. Then, against the run of play, Pujara steered the first ball of a new Stokes spell straight to first slip to be dismissed for 124. England still had an hour and a half to make further inroads. The plans and their execution was spot-on. The seamers bowled consistently around the sixth stump to Kohli, but the India captain seemed determined to not go after them even if it meant scoring just 1 run off the first 16 balls he faced. If there was one criticism of Vijays batting and Cooks captaincy, it revolved around Rashid. Cook underused his most threatening spinner of the day, and Vijay - for some strange reason, despite being such a good player of spin - played the wrong uns off the pitch. In what turned out to be the penultimate over of the day, Rashid got Vijay caught at short leg with a googly followed by Ansari snaring the nightwatchman Amit Mishra. Not that it mattered now, but India ended the day 19 runs short of avoiding the follow-on. President-elect Donald Trump met Tuesday with several black celebrities, including rap mogul and possible future presidential candidate Kanye West, to talk about some of the issues facing inner city African-Americans.I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future president if we truly want change, West later said in a tweet.Trump met with West, former NFL linebacker Ray Lewis and NFL icon and civil rights leader Jim Brown, along with longtime Trump backer Omarosa Manigault, at Trump Tower in New York City on Tuesday. West refused to comment with reporters after the meeting, instead saying only I just want to take a picture right now as he posed for pictures with Trump.A few minutes later, West tweeted from his (at)kanyewest account that he met with Trump to discuss multicultural issues including bullying, education and violence in Chicago.West announced last year at the Video Music Awards that he would run for president in 2020. That means he would face Trump if the president-elect seeks a second term. After meeting with Trump, West hashtagged a tweet (hash)2024, the first time someone would be able to run for president outside of a possible two-term Trump presidency. This all comes as civil rights leaders have been asking for a meeting with Trump to discuss his upcoming administrations positions on issues like housing and urban renewal. The Rev. Jesse Jackson and other civil rights leaders last week wrote Trump to ask for a meeting to discuss urban policies, and to hold a White House conference on violence. It was not immediately known whether Trump would be meeting with civil rights leaders. Meeting with black celebrities -- especially West -- is not going to give Trump much credibility among black voters, said Leah Wright Rigueur, a professor of public policy at Harvard Universitys Kennedy School of Government.Exit polls showed only about 8 percent of black voters backed Trump. While Trump may see this as establishing a level of legitimacy, it does nothing to validate him among black audiences. Kanyes recent views are outside the mainstream of black political thought, as are Donald Trump, she said. If anything, the association only serves to weaken Kanyes standing, particularly since Kanye has been silent on issues like economic inequality, joblessness, criminal justice reform and Black Lives Matter.Brown and Lewis said they talked with Trump about the new administration partnering with Browns Amer-I-Can outreach program, which aims to teach life skills to young people from poor backgrounds. The full governmental involvement of President Barack Obamas signature program, My Brothers Keeper, which is designed to improve the lives of boys and young men of color, will likely come to an official end at the conclusion of his presidency.Brown said he didnt vote for Trump. But we couldnt have had a better meeting, said Brown, a three-time MVP who retired from football to pursue an acting career and crusade for racial justice. The graciousness, the intelligence, the reception we got was fantastic.Lewis, a former Super Bowl MVP, said on Twitter that wherever Papa JB asks me to go I go. His vision is beyond platforms. After the meeting, Lewis praised the Amer-I-Can program, saying because of it we have 30,000-40,000 former gang members whove changed their lives. If they can partner with the Trump administration, forget black or white. Black or white is irrelevant, Lewis said. The bottom line is job creation and economic development in these urban areas to change the whole scheme of what our kids see. RIO DE JANEIRO -- The golden drought is over for France in fencing. One of the sports traditional powers won its first fencing gold medal since 2008, easily defeating Italy 45-31 in the mens team epee final on Sunday at the Rio de Janiero Olympics.Yannick Borel wrapped the match up for France with a quick touch of opponent Marco Fichera. Borel ripped off his mask and let out a scream to celebrate.Eight years is a long time for France to go without an Olympic fencing gold.Just the happiest moment in my fencing life, said Borel, a grin running from ear to ear. You want to share this with your friends. They are screaming, you are screaming, too.Until Sunday, the French team overall managed just a silver and bronze in fencing in Rio. They were left off the podium entirely at the 2012 London Games. The shutout ended with a resounding victory at Carioca Arena 3.Hungary won the bronze after beating Ukraine 39-37.In the final, Borel seemed to let out eight years of frustration for French fencers with a yell in the direction of vocal fans waving the French flag and his teammates.Later, Borel locked arms with teammates Daniel Jarent and Jean-Michel Lucenay, and the team jumped up and down in unison under the spotlights on the piste. Dance music filled the dimly-lit arena before the medal ceremony. There was much to celebrate foor France, which was ranked first in the world in mens epee.dddddddddddd The event wasnt contested in London, but France had won the previous two golds in mens epee, in Beijing in 2008 and Athens in 2004.Still, a victory on Sunday wasnt a lock, not against the third-ranked team in the world. Italys team included Enrico Garozzo, ranked second in the world. We came as a favorite, and they did their job with their performances here, France coach Hughes Obry said through an interpreter about his team. This is such a relief for them.Obry took over the program after London. Getting the team back to the top required tough training every day, he recounted.Once Borel got to Rio, he focused only on looking ahead.Today, I didnt look back, Borel said. I did this, and London is far away for me.France became the third country to win three straight golds in the mens team epee event, following Italy and Hungary. It was Frances ninth Olympic title in the event, breaking a tie with Italy for most golds.Mens team epee wasnt an event in 2012 because the sports international governing body has been rotating two team events out of the Olympics since Beijing.---Online:AP Summer Games: http://summergames.ap.org/ ' ' '

RIO DE JANEIRO -- The head of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics says the worlds top four male golfers have withdrawn from the games because there is no money to be won -- not because of the Zika virus. They tried to blame Zika, but the media have shown that they are not coming because theres no prize money, Rio organizing committee President Carlos Nuzman said Saturday, speaking with the games set to open in just under three weeks.Jordan Spieth withdrew this week from the Olympics, citing Zika. He joined Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, and Rory McIlroy in also saying Zika was the main reason for skipping the first Olympic golf tournament in 112 years.Their absence could be a setback for golfs future in the Olympics. IOC President Thomas Bach has said that golfs future may rest on its ability to get top players to show up.Golf is guaranteed a spot in the Tokyo Olympics in four years, but could be vulnerable after that.Zika is much worse in Florida than in Brazil, and golfers are playing in Florida, Nuzman said.Male golfers have also cited security worries, and some have complained that Olympic golf has been wedged into an already crowded tour schedule.Rio has myriad Olympic problems: Zika, security concerns, severe water pollution and sluggish ticket sales.Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes warned in the wake of the attack Thursday in Nice, France, that fans in Rio could face more checks, more roadblocks and more delays.Probably the security forces are going to demand more blockades, more inconvenient things, Paes said.Nuzman, speaking at a debate sponsored by a local magazine, seemed to be bracing for small crowds at some Olympic venues. Organizers says about 70 percent of tickets have been sold.I dont think we need too much public, he said, adding that smaller venues could save money.Television does an extraordinary job, with cameras everywhere, he added. Nobody can walk a step without a camera filming it.Nuzman also said he expected Rios suspended drug-testing lab to be ready when the games open Aug. 5. He expected the World Anti-Doping Agency to give its approval in a few days. The suspension has been an embarrassment for local organizers and a headache for the International Olympic Committee, which could be forced to send blood and urine samples abroad for testing if the lab remains closed.---SNTV producer Filipe de Almeida contributed to this report.---Stephen Wade on Twitter: http://twitter.com/StephenWadeAP .His work can be found at http://bigstory.ap.org/content/stephen-wade Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Italia . It is all about levels and progressing, said Lopez, 26. Roman is a very good fighter and Im ready for a tough fight. Hes progressed a lot. Hes a good puncher, counterpuncher, and works the body. But Im ready for whatever he brings. A win would be huge (because) it puts me in contention to fight a world champion.Roman, also 26, has won 13 fights in a row since an eight-round decision loss in 2013.Ive been extremely active over the last few years and now all the hard work is starting to pay off, Roma said. This is a tremendous opportunity and the type of fight Ive been preparing for. Adam Lopez is a great fighter, and hes highly ranked just like me. I was at Ellis last fight, and I saw an average fighter compared to the guys Ive fought. Hes solid, throws nice, short punches, but runs out of gas.Chicago junior welterweight Kenneth Sims Jr. (10-0, 3 KOs), 22, a 2013 U.S. national amateur champion, will take on Wellington Romero (12-0-1, 6 KOs), a 2012 Olympian from the Dominican Republic. This is the biggest fight of my career, said Sims, who will be boxing in his first scheduled eight-round bout. I will be prepared for anything that I have to do. Ive seen videos of Romero and I know he is a good fighter. I fought world champions in the amateurs so its not a big deal to fight him. I need to take care of business and get my win on national television. Its as simple as that.Sims was a main sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao when Pacquiao was getting set to fight Floyd Mayweather in their 2015 megafight. He also served as a Mayweather sparring partner when he was preparing for his retirement fight against Andre Berto later in 2015. In the 2012 Olympics, Romero, 25, lost to eventual gold medalist Vasyl Lomachenko.Im looking forward to introducing myself to the American public, Romero said. CHICAGO -- Anthony Rizzo caught the ball for the final out and Wrigley Field erupted.Im sleeping with this thing tonight, the Chicago Cubs first baseman told the pulsating crowd moments later, kissing the prized souvenir. Are you kidding me? Were going to the World Series.Cubs ... World Series? Yes, the Cubbies!Next up, Game 1 in Cleveland. With fans chanting, singing and waving those Ws, shaking the century-old ballpark and jamming the streets of Wrigleyville, the Cubs celebrated a moment many of their faithful wondered whether they would ever see.Kyle Hendricks outpitched Clayton Kershaw, Rizzo and Willson Contreras homered early and the Cubs took their first pennant since 1945, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-0 Saturday night to win the NL Championship Series in six games.Listen to them. Outside before the game was crazy. Inside the game was crazy, Cubs pitcher Jon Lester said. These guys have done nothing but support us from Day One. Its been unbelievable to be here and be part of this. Words cant really describe where Im at right now, he said.Cursed by a Billy Goat, bedeviled by Bartman and crushed by decades of disappointment, those Lovable Losers now have a chance to win it all.Trying to win their first crown since 1908, manager Joe Maddons team opens the World Series against Cleveland on Tuesday night. The Indians havent won it all since 1948 -- Cleveland and Cubs have the two longest title waits in the majors. This city deserves it so much, Rizzo said. We got four more big ones to go, but were going to enjoy this. Were going to the World Series. I cant even believe that.All-everything Javier Baez and Lester shared the NLCS MVP. Baez hit .318, drove in five runs and made several sharp plays at second base. Lester, a former World Series champion in Boston, was 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA in two starts against the Dodgers. The drought ended when Aroldis Chapman got Yasiel Puig to ground into a double play , setting off a wild celebration. And if they bring home the elusive championship?I may make the `W a tattoo, said chairman Tom Ricketts , who once lived across the street and met his wife in the bleachers.Deemed World Series favorites since opening day, the Cubs topped the majors with 103 wins to win the NL Central, then beat the Giants and Dodgers in the playoffs. The Cubs overcame a 2-1 deficit against the Dodgers and won their 17th pennant. They had not earned a World Series trip since winning a doubleheader opener 4-3 at Pittsburgh on Sept. 29, 1945, to clinch the pennant on the next-to-last day of the season. The eternal wait till next year is over. No more dwelling on a history of failure -- the future is now. Were too young. We dont care about it, star slugger Kris Bryant said. We dont look into it. This is a new team, this is a completely different time of our lives. Were enjoying it and our works just getting started.Hendricks pitched two-hit ball for 7 1/3 innings . Chapman took over and closed with hitless relief, then threw both arms in the air as he was mobbed by teammates and coaches. The Dodgers sent the minimum 27 batters to the plate and no one got past first base. The Cubs shook off back-to-back shutout losses earlier in this series by pounding the Dodgers for 23 runs to win the final three games. And they were in no way overwhelmed by the moment on Saturday, putting aside previous frustration. In the 1945 Series, the Billy Goat Curse supposedly began when a tavern owner wasnt allowed to bring his goat to Wrigley. In 2003, the Cubs lost the final three games of the NLCS to Florida, punctuated with a Game 6 defeat when fan Steve Bartman deflected a foul ball.Even as recently as 2012, the Cubs lost 101 times. This time, no such ill luck.Bryant had an RBI single and scored in a two-run first . Dexter Fowler added two hits, drove in a run and scored one.Contreras led off the fourth with a homer.Rizzo continued his resurgence with a solo drive in the fifth. That was plenty for Hendricks, the major league ERA leader.Hendricks left to a standing ovation after Josh Reddick singled with one out in the eighth. The only other hit Hendricks allowed was a single by Andrew Toles on the games first pitch.Kershaw, dominant in Game 2, gave up five runs and seven hits before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth. He fell to 4-7 in the postseason. This day is never fun, the ending of a season, Kershaw said. The Dodgers havent been to the World Series since winning in 1988.Pitching on five days rest, Kershaw needed 30 pitches to get through the first. Fowler led off with a double against the three-time NL Cy Young Award winner, and Bryants single had the crowd shaking the 102-year-old ballpark.Fans had more to cheer when left fielder Andrew Toles dropped Rizzos fly, putting runners on second and third, and Ben Zobrist made it 2-0 a sacrifice fly.The Cubs added a run in the second when Addison Russell doubled to deep left and scored on a two-out single by Fowler.LINEUP SHUFFLEMaddon benched slumping right fielder Jason Heyward in favor of Albert Almora Jr.Kershaws pitching, so I wanted to get one more right-handed bat in the lineup, and also with Albert I dont feel like were losing anything on defense, Maddon said. I know Jasons a Gold Glover, but I think Albert, given an opportunity to play often enough would be considered a Gold Glove-caliber outfielder, too.Heyward was 2 for 28 in the playoffs -- 1 for 16 in the NLCS.SEENKerry Wood, wearing a Ron Santo jersey, threw out the first pitch and actor Jim Belushi delivered the Play Ball! call before the game. Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder and actor John Cusack were also in attendance. And Bulls great Scottie Pippen led the seventh-inning stretch. Deon Yelder Jersey . Scott Kazmir allowed four hits in seven shutout innings, Michael Brantley hit a two-run homer in a three-run first inning and the Indians maintained their hold on an AL wild-card spot with a 4-1 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. WINNIPEG -- He may sit on the bench but the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed a 20-year-old junior football receiver for their game Friday night against the Toronto Argonauts. Its a Cinderella story for Brett Carter but also a sign of how banged up the Winnipeg receiving corps is right now. "I cant put it into words," said a grinning Carter. "Its unreal. Im so thankful for the opportunity." And Bombers coach Tim Burke says Carter should be ready for anything. "He might get his chance to get out there and play in a CFL game," he said. Carter will back up slotback Jade Etienne while Rory Kohlert will move from that spot to fill Cory Watsons position. Watson is expected to be gone two-to-four weeks with a hamstring injury. "I think Rory Kohlert will do a great job running routes," said Burke. "Well have to find a different way to block . . but well be fine." Argos coach Scott Milanovich isnt concerned about Winnipegs woes. "Ive got my own problems," he said. "This really is a new team." The Argos will be trying out a new receiver as well Friday in John Chiles. "Were excited to see what he can do," said Milanovich. Theres a lot on the line for both Winnipeg and Toronto as all four teams in the East Division head into action with underwhelming 1-2 records. "Would we like to be 3-0, yeah," said Argos receiver/kick-returner Chad Owens. "But were just going to continue to work. Its a very long season." Quarterback Ricky Ray said the Argos can certainly help themselves with a win but added that wont be easy against a Winnipeg defence thats recorded a league-leading 18 sacks. "You watch film and they can get after the quarterback," he said. The loss of Watson certainly complicates matters for the Bombers. Not only is he their leading receiver and best blocker at that position, but as a Canadian hes also a ratio changer. With Chris Matthews and Terrence Edwards also out, import Doug Pierce is getting another chance to start at receiver. And hes excited about that after spending most of his year and aa bit with the Bombers as a backup.dddddddddddd "Ive been ready to go since last year, the end of the season, but a little extra work never hurt anybody," he said after Thursdays walkthrough. Burke said he apologized to safety Dan West after re-examining his hit on Watson that injured the receiver on the final play of Wednesdays practice. Shortly after Watson was hurt, Burke vented about West shoving the receiver out of bounds but added Thursday that Watson wasnt without blame. "You never should say anything until after youve watched the video," Burke said. "I apologized to Dan for making him the villain. . . Cory had a part in it. "He shouldnt have stiff-armed Dan." Watson caught a long pass and stiff-armed West on the helmet before being pushed out of bounds and falling to the ground. Carter, 20, attended Winnipegs training camp and appeared in both exhibition games before being released. He continued practising with the Bombers as a territorial exemption and was expecting to do so until the start of the Winnipeg Rifles junior season next month before signing with the CFL club. The Bombers have been impressed with his enthusiasm and ability. "What a great moment for him and Im excited," said quarterback Buck Pierce. "Were proud of him and we know that he can play." Pierce says hes excited at the prospect of facing Torontos defence. The unit has struggled -- allowing 32 points and 162 yards rushing per game, both league highs -- but Pierce is expecting an aggressive gameplan from Argos defensive co-ordinator Chris Jones.
