Skateboarding icon Tony Hawk thinks his sport will give the Olympics a big lift if its added to the 2020 Tokyo Games.There are more participants in skateboarding than most sports so I feel like they (the Olympics) need our credibility and they need our excitement level in their Summer Games, Hawk said.On Aug. 3, the International Olympic Committee intends to vote on whether skateboarding -- as part of a five-sport package -- will be on the program in Tokyo. The other sports are karate, sports climbing, surfing and baseball/softball. The plan for now is to approve all of them or none of them.Obviously skateboarding has a really strong connection with the youth and a great youth appeal and a passionate following so this is hugely exciting and we think a great proposal for us to take to the IOC session, IOC sports director Kit McConnell said.With skateboarding already thriving outside the Olympics, Hawk said the sport could catch on with worldwide viewers as snowboarding did in the Winter Olympics when Shaun White started to compete in the halfpipe event.In the beginning, snowboarding was felt more chastised than embraced and eventually it became the highlight of the Winter Games, Hawk said. In the first session, soon after drinks, with India already two down, they gave England the chance to break their partnership not once but twice in a single over.First, Kohli nudged to the right of Joe Root at midwicket and called for a single that probably wasnt on. Pujara, who isnt the quickest across 22 yards, had to put in a big dive despite the throw being a bit wayward. A ball later, Kohli refused a second run after Pujaras dab to point had been parried by the fielder Stuart Broad towards the man rushing in from sweeper cover. DraftKings and FanDuel insist their decision to join forces will benefit players, but the daily fantasy community is concerned about the merger of its two largest operators and is especially fearful that the sites commission fees will increase.The companies announced the agreement to merge Friday morning. Both sites will continue to operate under their existing brands through the 2017 NFL season, and for now players should not expect to see significant changes until the deal is finalized. But players are worried fees will increase to a point where the game may become unbeatable down the road.DraftKings CEO Jason Robins, who will be the joint companys chief executive officer, said he has heard the players concerns, but doesnt believe the merger will have an impact on commission fees.The commission will absolutely not increase as a result of this merger, said Robins in a Friday call with ESPN.
