MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- Martin Truex Jr. sits on the pole for the Sprint Cup race Sunday, and he represents a core of 32 drivers that fans should keep their eyes on in the opening race of the semifinal round at Martinsville Speedway. All the drivers who no longer have a shot at the Cup title have no reason to worry about making any enemies. Some drivers are racing for their jobs. Others are probably just angry they still arent in contention for the title when the Goodys 500 green flag drops.Truex leads them all in frustration after a blown engine at Talladega ruined his Chase hopes. The vibe is everybody kind of has a little chip on their shoulder, and I think everybody wants to make sure that they show the other teams in the garage that we were for real and we just want to show them that we think we should still be going, Truex said. But things happen and thats the way things go. Its racing.Guys are just working hard, they want to win races no matter where were at, no matter what the situation is and I kind of share that mindset with them moving forward.Starting beside Truex will be Chase driver Joey Logano and behind Truex will start Chase driver Jimmie Johnson. Then three more non-Chase drivers -- AJ Allmendinger, Chase Elliott and Tony Stewart -- hold starting spots four, five and six, ahead of a Joe Gibbs Racing trio of Chasers Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.Truex didnt join his Toyota brethren in advancing to this round.I thought about it every day and every night and I just kept telling myself to just go win Martinsville and I would feel a little bit better, Truex said. [Winning the pole] is the first step in that direction. It shouldnt be a surprise that those non-Chase drivers were fast, except for an upstart performance by Allmendinger in qualifying.Lets be honest, some of the fastest cars in this series got knocked out [from the Chase] last week, and it proves that with Truex getting the pole today, so obviously they have a fast race car, Logano said. Theyre all out there trying to win. Here are four other things (or people) to watch Sunday:Joey Logano finally getting a clock: Logano had won the pole for three consecutive Martinsville races entering this weekend but still seeks his first Martinsville win and the grandfather clock that goes to the victor. He will start on the front row but this time on the outside Sunday beside Truex.Just because Logano has won poles doesnt mean he has had great races at Martinsville. He led 108 laps on his way to finishing third in the March 2015 race and then had a dominating performance going when he led 207 laps before Matt Kenseth took him out a year ago.But in April, he started first and found himself a lap down early in the race. He rallied to finish 11th.We took off from the pole and we were down a lap before the first caution, so the goal is not to do that again, Logano said. I think we learned from that lesson, which is good. That happens a lot in this race.If you watch them all, is all of a sudden one car that you thought was really good in practice youre like, Wow, what happened to him on the long run, and as the race goes it seems like it kind of mellows back out.Jimmie Johnson and talk of 7: With nine wins at Martinsville and starting third, Johnson appears poised for another strong finish -- and a win would only send talk of his winning a seventh title into the stratosphere as he would have one of the four finalist berths at Homestead. The Hendrick Motorsports driver has finishes of 32nd, 35th, 12th and ninth in his past four starts at Martinsville. He only has two wins in his past 14 starts at the track. So Johnson wont think too much about No. 7. Not that he would anyway. This Chase has such a different feeling than Chases Ive won in the past -- I still feel like I have this massive hurdle to get over to get into the final four [finalists], Johnson said about thoughts of winning a seventh. With that in mind, I have not gone there [in my mind].My chances are a lot better than they were three weeks ago for sure, but this format just requires such a different mindset and a different way to make it to the Final Four to even have a shot at the championship.Brakes and breaks, bad ones, for Chase drivers: Brake failures and other mechanical issues can occur at Martinsville, especially on what will be a hot day -- in the low 80s -- for Martinsville this time of year. And then theres this thing called pit road, and penalties at Martinsville can be devastating as track position is key.Plus, the bad breaks might not even be self-inflicted. Ever try starting on the outside on a restart at Martinsville, especially near the end of the race?It aint pretty: Its a challenge to get down, Logano said. Ill be honest with you, its hard. ... Its going to be hard because everyone [on the inside] sees that opportunity. You see that gap and theyre like, Oh.? Theyre going to take it and theyre going to charge it in there and just try to keep you up there [on the outside] for the next corner and then obviously as youre two-wide what does that do??The gap behind that person closes up because youre going slower because youre two-wide and then that guy catches up and its like, Oh, were just stuck.Jeff Gordon: One Last Ride. Maybe: Saving the best for last, Gordon has nine career wins at Martinsville. This very well could be his last race. Remember the excitement of his win last year? The only thing that could top it would be a win, something he wished he could have done at Homestead to drop-the-mic but certainly not a bad way to go out.Gordon is driving in his final race as a substitute for Dale Earnhardt Jr. (concussion), and is driving a car prepared in the Hendrick 48-88 shop. During Gordons past five years as a full-time driver at Hendrick, his No. 24 cars were prepared in a shop shared with the Hendrick No. 5 car.I feel like my car feels very similar to a No. 24 car that Ive driven in the past, Gordon said. It has good comfort, good speed and is doing a lot of the things that I like. I have been joking this year about when like at Dover I get to drive a Jimmie Johnson/Chad Knaus [No. 48] car and set-up.I was looking forward to that. Same thing is the case here. ... I would love to get these guys a great finish if this is my last race. TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Philadelphia Flyers will try to get back on the winning track Friday when they meet at the Air Canada Centre. The Flyers (6-6-2) lost two in a row while the Maple Leafs (5-5-3) had a three-game winning streak interrupted Tuesday by a 7-0 collapse against the Los Angeles Kings. After losing 3-2 to the Detroit Red Wings Tuesday in a shootout, Brayden Schenn will return to the top line as a left winger Friday after playing three games as third-line center. It doesnt change what I try to do on the ice, Schenn said Thursday after the teams practice. It is what it is. Theyre looking for balance, looking for chemistry. Im the guy thats kind of been tossed around a little bit all over the place so far, but it doesnt bother me.By returning to the first line, he will be reunited with Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds. Hopefully we get er going early on and stay together for a period of time, Schenn said. The 25-year-old has nine points (including seven assists) in 11 games after being suspended for the first three games of the season.Ideally, Schenn would be stay on one line for an extended period.I really wanted to look at him up the middle, Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said of Schenns third-line stint. He was there for three games, and the first two games I thought he did a good job and our team played well. It wasnt a great performance (Tuesday) for (Schenn), but certainly it wasnt a great performance by our team in terms oof our overall play and energy.ddddddddddddchenn, Giroux and Simmonds were a good line late last season. They have some pretty good chemistry, and, yeah, in a perfect world, Id like to see that group stay together and rebuild the chemistry, Hakstol said. The coach said that goaltender Steve Mason will make his second consecutive start Friday. And Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said on Thursday after his teams practice that Frederik Andersen would be back in goal Friday despite being removed from the game Tuesday in the second period after allowing four goals on 26 shots.Babcock said his team is allowing too many shots on goal -- more than 40 against in three of the past four games.Weve got to play better without the puck, Babcock said. Weve got to be better in the faceoff circle. I really thought last game in particular there was no reason for us to give up what we did. It wasnt that type of game, we didnt have to do that. We got away from what were doing.Sometimes its nice when your goalie is able to steal you a game and we appreciate the fact but we dont want to play like that. As much as weve generated lots of O-zone opportunities and time and shots ourselves, the numbers verify that, weve given up too much. All you have to do is look at goals against (48). Thats why we work on it every day and will continue to work on it. ' ' '

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Milwaukee Brewers hoped they were getting a stolen base threat when they acquired infielder Jonathan Villar from the Houston Astros last November. It turns out they got a budding power hitter, too.Villar, the major leagues stolen base leader, hit his 17th and 18th home runs and had a career-high five RBI and Matt Garza beat his former team as the Brewers defeated the Texas Rangers 8-3 on Monday night.I dont think about that, Villar said of hitting homers. I need a base hit because I need more stolen bases.Villar has 59 steals, one more than the Cincinnati Reds Billy Hamilton. He would become the franchises third stolen base champion, joining Scott Podsednik in 2004 (70) and Tommy Harper in 1969 with the original expansion Seattle Pilots (a club-record 73).Villar said manager Craig Counsell has told him he could develop into a 30-homer hitter.Im surprised by how much weve already seen it, Counsell of Villars power. What hes doing is rare, for sure.Villar also doubled. He went into Mondays game having gone only 3 for 35 in his previous 11 games. The Brewers clinched fourth place in the NL Central.Garza (6-8) allowed three runs and six hits in six innings. GREEN BAY, Wis. -- With snow falling at Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers were back in their element. The Packers are back at .500 after beating Houston 21-13 on Sunday for their second straight win as they try to keep pace with Detroit in the NFC North.Aaron Rodgers threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, Jordy Nelson had 118 yards receiving and a score, and Green Bay pulled away from the Texans with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.Well, that was a good bad-weather win, coach Mike McCarthy said. A lot of fun to play in that type of atmosphere in Lambeau Field. The Packers (6-6) weathered wintry conditions, making just enough plays on the cold turf to even their record for the first time since they were 4-4 after losing to Indianapolis on Nov. 6. Theyre two games back of division-leading Detroit after the Lions beat New Orleans on Sunday.Brock Osweiler connected with DeAndre Hopkins for a 44-yard touchdown pass with 1:51 left to get within eight for Houston. Nick Novak missed the extra point, with footing slippery at Lambeau. The Texans (6-6) had one last shot after the Packers failed to run out the clock. But Osweilers last-ditch pass-and-lateral play from Houstons 12 with 4 seconds left failed, handing Houston its third straight loss.Theres not much a margin for error with our team, and weve got to do a better job in the fourth quarter, coach Bill OBrien said. The Texans are tied with idle Tennessee and a half-game ahead of Indianapolis, which plays the New York Jets on Monday night, for the AFC South lead.JUST JORDYThe Packers broke a 7-all tie when Rodgers found Nelson open in the end zone for a 32-yard touchdown pass with 12:42 left after Texans cornerback Charles James slipped on the turf.Nelson, who missed last season with a knee injury, finished with eight catches.I dont know how much more Jordy needs to prove, McCarthy said. Hes going through what every great player goes through in that first year back from major injury.QB COMPARISONRodgers was 20 of 30. He looked OK after being limited in practice with a left hamstring injury, taking off for a couple runs, though he didnt seem to have his usual mobility on the slippery turf.Rodgers didnt face much pressure in the first half against a Houston defense minus injured end Jadeveon Clowney. The Texans started getting more pressure on Rodgers in the second half.I dont know if you ever come out better than you did coming in, but I feel good about where Im at, Rodgers said. I had decent movement and didnt do anything to create a major setback.Osweiler has faced heat for the Texans offensive struggles this season. He was composed in the second half in leading Houston on 10-play, 63-yard drive that ended with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Griffin on fourth-and-1 to tie it at 7 with 7:32 left in the third quarter.Osweiler finished 22 of 35 for 202 yards. Were tired of being close, we really are as a team. Were all able to see it on the film every single week that were so close to turning that corner, Osweiler said. And if youre tired of seeing it, were tired of living it.SNOW DAYRandall Cobb had fun in the snow. The wide receiver did a snow angel in the end zone after a sliding, 9-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter that gave the Packers a 7-0 lead. In the third quarter, Ryan Griffin did a Lambeau Leap into the waiting arms of a group of Texans fans after his 6-yard touchdown catch on fourth-and-1 finished a 10-play, 63-yard drive to tie the game at 7.STILL GOINGJulius Peppers still packs a pass-rushing punch for the Packers. A sack of Osweiler on second-and-1 at the Houston 41 with 56 seconds left in the second quarter gave the 15-year veteran 142 1/2 for his career, snapping a tie for fifth on the career list with Michael Strahan. Chris Doleman is fourth on that list with 150 1/2.INJURY REPORTTexans: WR Braxton Miller left with a shoulder injury after being driven to the cold turf by safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the second quarter.Packers: LB Jake Ryan left for a few series in the first half after appearing to aggravate an ankle injury that kept him out the previous two weeks. ... LB Nick Perry, who leads the team with eight sacks, returned with his left hand heavily wrapped after missing most of the first half with the injury.---For more NFL coverage: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Koda Glover Nationals Jersey . Tres Barrera Nationals Jersey .Y. -- Canadas Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse have another World Cup gold medal after winning the two-women bobsled race on Saturday in Lake Placid, N. EAST LANSING, Mich. -- As a disappointing season winds down, Michigan State could use a few signs of hope for the future.Freshman Donnie Corley certainly qualifies.Corley has emerged as a two-way contributor for the Spartans, playing both wide receiver and defensive back in his first season at the college level. It may be too late for Michigan State to salvage much from the 2016 season, but Corley looks like someone who could make a major impact at the school in the years to come. Our idea is to make sure that he is thoroughly exhausted at the end of the football game, coach Mark Dantonio said. Thats the plan. Its no huge surprise that Corley has been able to play right away. Both Rivals and Scout listed him as a four-star recruit, and as a senior at Martin Luther King H.S. in Detroit, Corley had 59 receptions and 10 interceptions. The Spartans (3-7, 1-6, Big Ten) needed to replace several key players from last year, and Corley immediately made his presence felt. In Michigan States second game of the season at Notre Dame, he caught four passes for 88 yards, including a leaping touchdown grab that turned out to be one of the highlights of the season for the Spartans.Corley is now third on the team with 27 receptions, and hes been able to help the defensive backfield as well.We recruited Donnie with the idea that he could play both, and we want to make that happen. Hes skilled enough to do that, Dantonio said. Hes a big athletic guy with ball judgment, he can tackle in space.Part of the reason Corley has played on defense is because the Spartans needed help in the secondary, but his ability to juggle multiple roles as a freshman has been impressive. Its been kind of hard. During the game, adjustments they make on the sidelines, I cant really be there, Corley said. IIm over here with the defense while the offense is making adjustments on the sideline.dddddddddddd Things like that, its kind of hard. The Spartans would be delighted if Corley can develop into the type of two-way threat who make a game-changing play at any time -- like rival Michigan has with Jabrill Peppers. With Michigan State set to host No. 2 Ohio State (9-1, 6-1) this weekend, Dantonio talked a bit Tuesday about the way Chris Gamble used to play both ways for the Buckeyes.Dantonio coached Gamble when he was an assistant at Ohio State over a decade ago.He played six games, I think, where he played over 100 plays. So its doable, Dantonio said. But, you know, whether we get to that extent or not will depend on other people and other personnel, recruiting, and how people and players develop and those type of things.Corley is starting down the path toward becoming a dynamic two-way star, and the experience hes gaining as a freshman could pay major dividends as Michigan State tries to rebound from a season in which little has gone right.Coach D always used to tell (me), `You might play both ways, Corley said. But he always told me that offense would probably be the first thing, then once I learned it, he would try and switch it. I didnt really think that I would learn it that fast and that it would happen that fast. I didnt think it would happen in the first year.Game notes Dantonio said injured DL Malik McDowells status remains uncertain this week. He missed last weekends win over Rutgers.---For more college football: http://collegefootball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP-Top25---Follow Noah Trister at www.Twitter.com/noahtrister ' ' '

BUFFALO -- Hue Jackson is pondering a quarterback change for when his winless?Cleveland Browns play the San Diego Chargers on Saturday.Everythings gonna be on the table, the coach said after a 33-13 loss to the Bills. I think Im going to take a look at everything. That includes replacing Robert Griffin III, who has started the past two games. The Browns are fighting so hard to avoid a winless season that they might make a change for Week 16 while they try to assess whether they should commit to Griffin again in 2017.I just have to, Jackson said of considering a change. Again, I think I owe these guys the best opportunity to win, in the locker room. For the effort theyre giving me, I got to give back to them as a leader. I got to make sure that Im putting the right people out there for them. The Browns will be off Monday, so Jackson likely wont make a decision known until Tuesday. He said he will spend Monday reviewing the tape of Sundays loss.Thats up to Coach, Griffin said. He wears the HC hat for a reason. I felt like I came out and played better this game, but we didnt win the game, and thats what it comes down to. So whatever Coach decides, thats his decision, and were all going to roll with it.If there is a change, it would be the seventh time this season the Browns have changed quarterbacks between games, either due to performance or injury.?The question is whether going back to Cody Kessler or Josh McCown might spell the end of Griffins days in Cleveland. If hes pulled after two games back from a broken bone in his shoulder, it would be tough for the Browns to commit to him in 2017.Griffin was the teams preferred option at quarterback when the season began. He started the opener, was injured, then started a 23-10 loss to Cincinnati?and Sundays loss to Buffalo.Everybodys in play, Jackson said of a possible change. Absolutely.Discussion of a possible change came after Jackson and Griffin both said he took positive steps from the previous game against the Bengals. But Jackson tempered the remark by saying the quarterback play is still not where we need to be.Griffin was sacked five times and got little done from the pocket. His effectiveness in the second half came when he scrambled, once for an 18-yard touchdown. In two games, Griffin has guided the Browns to 23 points -- 10 fewer than the Bills scored in one game Sunday. He completed 12 of 28 passes against the Bengals, 17-of-28 against Buffalo. But even those numbers are deceiving. In the final two minutes of both games, with the outcome determined, Griffin was able to add to his stats, completing 7 of 9 passes for 50 yards.Take those away, and Griffin is 22-for-47 passing (46.8 percent) for 244 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Both of the touchdowns the Browns scored the past two games came on his runs. The Browns went to quick throws early Sunday, and Griffin was 5-for-6 after one quarter. He then had a stretch where he went 6-for-15 and ran more because, he said, the offense needed a spark. We look like we have a rhythm, and then theres no rhythm, Jackson said. It disappears and sometimes we dont get it back. Air Max 270 Nere Scontate . Thats about all he can do right now, so hes trying not to think about when he might be able to play again for the Los Angeles Lakers. Vapormax Flyknit Scontate . R.J. Jeff Green scored 13 points and Kris Humphries 12 for the Celtics, who nearly blew an 18-point, second-half lead. Sullingers 20-20 was the first by a Celtics player since Kevin Garnetts first game in Boston in 2007. Garnett was dealt -- along with Paul Pierce -- to Brooklyn during the off-season. Air Max 95 Donna Scontate . Brazilian national coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that the veteran goalkeeper is set to join Toronto on loan, saying it will help him be ready for the World Cup. SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Radio announcer Kevin Harlan used a fan who ran onto the field to spice up his call of Monday nights game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers, offering spirited play-by-play commentary as security chased down the fan.The Westwood One announcer enthusiastically jumped into action when the fan ran onto the field with the 49ers holding a 21-0 lead in the fourth quarter, calling out the fans movements like he would a long touchdown run before finishing with they tackle him at the 40-yard line when security finally caught up.Referring to the 49ers blowout, Harlan called the moment the most exciting thing to happen tonight. The announcer may be right. EDMONTON, Alberta -- Patrik Laine has scored a lot of big goals in his first NHL season, including a few game-winners.His latest was anything but.Laine shot the puck into his own net midway through the third period, costing the Winnipeg Jets in a 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night.Edmontons Mark Letestu was credited with his second goal of the game when Laine fired the rebound of Letestus slap shot directly into his own wide-open cage.I think everybody saw what happened. Thats my comments, said the Finnish rookie, who has 17 goals in his first 32 NHL games. It was just a bad position for me. An unfortunate goal.Captain Blake Wheeler put an arm around Laine to console him when he returned to the bench.Hes 18 years old. He feels terrible, Wheeler said. These things happen. Ive done it many times.Oscar Klefbom also scored and Cam Talbot made 29 saves for the Oilers.Mathieu Perreault and Chris Thorburn had goals for the Jets, who have now lost four straight games. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 27 shots.Winnipeg started the scoring with 5:10 left in the first period. Bryan Littles tip went off the post, but Perreault got two whacks at it, eventually sweeping it in past Talbot.Edmonton came close late in the first on a power play, but Jordan Eberles one-timer hit the crossbar behind Hellebuyck. The Oilers tied the game about two minutes into the second period when a huge rebound from Tyler Pitlicks shot came to Klefbom, who hammered in his fifth of the season.Winnipeg regained the lead with 8 minutes to play in the second when Thorburn scored on a nice feed in front from Marko Dano.Edmontoon appeared to pull even again two minutes later, but Zack Kassians breakaway goal was overturned for offsides on review.ddddddddddddhe Oilers made it 2-2 2:28 into the third period on the power play when Connor McDavid set up Letestu for a goal in front. That set up Edmontons fortunate break, when Laine one-timed the puck with some authority into his own cage. Laine appeared surprised when the rebound of Letestus shot came his way, quickly putting a second hand on his stick and smacking at the puck, possibly in an attempt to clear it out of the zone.Every guy in the National Hockey Leagues got a goal like that, Winnipeg coach Paul Maurice said. Every defenseman, it goes in off them, so he has a story to tell.Five of Letestus six goals this season have come against Winnipeg.I cant really explain it, Letestu said. The puck just goes in on certain nights. I think its just coincidental that its been against this team. A really lucky third goal and on the power play, Connor (McDavid) finds me in a good spot.Game notes It was the third and final meeting between the two teams this season. The Oilers won both previous games in Winnipeg, shutting out the Jets 3-0 at the Heritage Classic in October, and then won the second game 6-3 to start December. ... Winnipegs Brandon Tanev leads all NHL rookies in hits, coming into the contest with 74 in 30 games.UP NEXTJets: Are off until Thursday night, when they host Florida.Oilers: Remain at home to play Columbus on Tuesday night. Nottinghamshire 340 for 7 (Wessels 114, Read 59) beat Derbyshire 275 (Slater 51, Gurney 3-47) by 65 runsScorecard A century from Riki Wessels helped Nottinghamshire to a 65-run victory over Derbyshire in their Royal London Cup meeting at Welbeck.Wessels hit 114 and Chris Read added 59 as Notts scored 340 for seven after being put in. Shiv Thakor was the most successful Falcons bowler but his three wickets cost 78 runs and came off only eight overs.Ben Slater made 51 at the start of Derbyshires reply and Matt Critchley plundered three sixes in a late cameo of 43 as Derbyshire reached 245 before being bowled out in 45.1 overs, leaving Notts to celebrate victory in front of a crowd of 4649.Michael Lumb, with 422 runs already gathered in this seasons competition after scoring three centuries from three visits to the crease, fell for only 15 at the start of the day. When Thakor followed up that dismissal with the wicket of Greg Smith, one over later, Notts had slipped to 48 for 2 but that was the last Derbyshire success for 13 overs as Wessels and Brendan Taylor rattled up a third wicket stand of 122.Wessels took 19 off an over from Thakor and then reached his fourth one-day century from 80 balls, having hit 16 fours and three sixes. He perished when miscuing an attempted reverse sweep off Critchley and Taylor followed in the next over, for 44.Samit Patels 31 and 28 from Dan Christian set the hosts up for a big finish and it was applied by Read and Steven Mullaney.Read hit three sixes in his 39-ball innings and Mullaney hit three in a row off Ben Cotton on his way to 39 not out. There was even time at the end for Englands newest cap Jake Ball, playing on his home club ground, to strike the biggest blow of the day as he thumped Thakor back over his head and out of the ground. Notts tally of 340 was the most they had ever scored in a one-day match against their local rivals. In pursuit of potentially their most successful run chase, Derbyshire lost Wes Durston, their captain, for only 6. Slater rattled along, scoring 40 of the first 51 runs but edged behind one ball after reaching a 48-ball half-century.Christian, who took 5 for 40 when Notts used the picturesque club ground for the first time last season, removed Wayne Madsen and when Hamish Rutherford edged Luke Fletcher behind the visitors had slid to 103 for 4.Thakor and Neil Broom rallied with a stand of 47 but Mullaney nipped them both out in quick succession; Thakor bowled for 29 and Broom was scooped up by a diving catch from Ball for 25.Critchley, batting at No. 8 in the order, showed some much-needed fight and he was joined by Harvey Hosein in a ninth wicket stand of 63. Gurney, who took 3 for 47, closed out the innings by catching Tony Palladino off his own bowling. Fake Vans Slip-on . American Kevin Streelman was in second place after shooting a 69. CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Alejandro Bennifield threw four touchdown passes in the first half and ran for another score and Chattanooga rolled to a 52-31 victory over Mercer on Saturday. The Mocs (6-0, 4-0 Southern Conference) are off to their best start since 1968.Derrick Craine ran for 160 yards on 17 carries, including a 54-yard score early in the second quarter. Bennifield was 23 for 32 passing for 258 yards, and connected with four receivers for TDs. Xavier Borishade and C.J. IRVINE, Calif. -- On the night before the Los Angeles Rams first public practice of training camp, coach Jeff Fisher warned his players to be prepared for a crazy welcome. The Rams still were impressed Saturday when thousands of screaming, chanting fans showed up to herald the start of a new era.I didnt know it was going to be like that, running back Todd Gurley said. It was pretty cool to have everybody come out.The Rams went through a long workout in front of fans who gathered hours early at UC Irvine and hung out until the late afternoon in the breezy Orange County heat. The school and the Rams counted 10,112 fans in attendance. They filled three large bleachers and a stretch of upscale tents surrounding the teams two practice fields, and others walked through a small fair behind the stands featuring food, games and merchandise in both the Rams current colors and the traditional LA blue and yellow-gold.Southern California has regained its appetite for the NFL after a 21-year absence, and the Rams fans showed up in force for the latest in a series of welcome-home moments culminating in the home opener at the Coliseum on Sept. 18.It was great, Fisher said. We gathered (the players) up right before we got started, just to calm them down. When the atmosphere is the way it was, and the environment and the fans and the support, theres a tendency to go a little bit quicker earlier than you should in practice. We wanted to make sure they got warmed up.While fans came from all over the Southland for the first of many open practices, Orange County has particularly deep ties to the Rams. The team moved from the Coliseum in 1980 to play its final 15 seasons at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, with Eric Dickerson setting the NFLs single-season rushing record there on Dec. 9, 1984.The Rams trained at UC Irvine for three of their final four seasons in Anaheim, including their final camp in 1994 before the move to St. Louis. They used the same fields and the same locker room as the current Rams, who will be on campus for five weeks while their permanent in-season training complex is completed in Thousand Oaks.Fisher was the Rams defensive coordinator in 1991 when they held camp in Irvine.Personally, Im excited to be back, Fisher said. Its 1991 since I was on this campus. Trees are much taller. Things look different, but its certainly great to be back. While they have thousands of fans who never left them, the Rams also have a novelty factor that has long since evaporated in St. Louis.Los Angeles fans havent been worn down by the Rams 11-year playoff drought and 12 consecutive non-winning seasons. They didnt see Marc Bulger, Sam Bradford, Nick Foles and all of the other quarterbacks who tried and failed to coax consistent success out of the club. But with No. 1 draft pick Jared Goff taking snaps under the California sun, the Rams looked and felt renewed. There were a lot of people out there, Goff said. The music was bumping, and people were excited. Were starting the real season now, so youve got to get the jitters out and get comfortable.Game notes Tre Mason was placed on the Did Not Report list, and Fisher revealed that the backup running back has refused to speak with him or the Rams during an offseason of legal troubles. Mason, who rushed for 207 yards last season, was arrested in Florida in March on suspicion of reckless driving, marijuana possession and other charges. I havent personally spoken with Tre since the season ended, Fisher said. I tried numerous times to reach him. Tre has made a decision not to communicate with us, not to talk. Not talking to his teammates. Right now were more concerned about Tre Masons well-being than we are his football career. ... S T.J. McDonald rejoined the Rams after missing much of their offseason workouts. The USC product was arrested in May in Woodland Hills on suspicion of driving under the influence of a substance other than alcohol. He didnt provide an update on his legal status, calling his incident an accident. ... Its something that Ive put behind me. Im definitely in a good place right now. ... Promising RT Rob Havenstein is on the physically unable to perform list with a foot injury. Fisher said hell need maybe a few weeks before returning.---Online:AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and AP NFL Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/AP-NFL---Follow Greg Beacham at www.twitter.com/gregbeacham Kyrie Irving Jersey .J. -- Josh Cribbs was in the Pro Bowl in February and out of a job six months later. "It doesnt get any better than that," Giambi said. "Im speechless." The Indians are roaring toward October. Giambi belted a two-run, pinch-hit homer with two outs in the ninth inning to give Cleveland a shocking 5-4 win over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night, keeping the Indians up with the lead pack in the AL wild-card race. As we do each Sunday, we recap the weeks winners and losers from a fantasy perspective, complete with applicable game and historical data. Check back after the conclusion of the 1 and 4 p.m. ET games (and, when applicable, Sunday Night Football) for our picks of the weeks best and worst.WinnersEzekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys: What a day! Elliotts 32-yard touchdown with nine seconds remaining didnt just give his Cowboys a comeback win, it pushed his fantasy point total to 38, by far the most by any player in Week 10 (through the 4 p.m. ET games). It also had him only two shy of becoming the 17th instance of a rookie running back reaching 40 fantasy points; Elliotts 38 rank tied for 20th on the list.More importantly, it increased Elliotts season fantasy point total to 176 through his first nine career games, which is the fourth-most by any running back through that many contests. Here are the top 10:Of course, you all obviously saw this coming, as Elliott was the most-started player at any position in ESPN leagues (99.8 percent) in Week 10.Ryan Mathews, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Who saw this one coming? After Darren Sproles totaled 28 rushing attempts to Mathews nine the past two weeks, ESPN fantasy owners started Sproles (59.6 percent) in nearly three times as many leagues as Mathews (18.4 percent) on Sunday. Mathews, however, delivered 27 fantasy points to Sproles seven and earned the No. 2 spot among running backs for the week (through the 4 p.m. ET games). That represents the second-best single-game effort of his career, behind his 31 in 2010 Week 17.Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense: Talk about the unexpected; the opposing Chicago Bears were actually favored in this one (by 0.5 points in our Pigskin Pick em). The Buccaneers were firmly in command, however, as they forced three Jay Cutler turnovers en route to a 25-point fantasy day for their D/ST. It was the teams best fantasy effort in nearly nine years; the Buccaneers last scored that many or more fantasy points in Week 15 (28) of 2007.Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans: Hes feasting upon a favorable portion of his schedule -- @MIA, CLE, IND, JAC, @SD, GB -- but Mariotas recent success warrants a Winners nod nevertheless. His 27 fantasy points were second-most among quarterbacks (through the 4 p.m. ET games) and gave him 144 during the aforementioned six-week span, easily the most by any player at any position in that time. Remarkably, fantasy owners have been lagging significantly behind this trend, as Mariotas 36.6 start percentage in ESPN leagues on Sunday ranked him outside the 10 (and, in fact, also outside the top 12) most popular starting quarterbacks for the week, and it was only his second-highest start percentage during said six-week span (40.9 percent, Week 9).Sundays game gave Mariota 187 fantasy points through 10 games, which puts him on pace for 299.2 by seasons end. Should he pick up the pace and reach the 300-point threshold, hed join an exclusive group of only five players to get there in a season in advance of his 23rd birthday: Dan Marino (353, 1984), Cam Newton (352, 2011), Eric Dickerson (329, 1983), Edgerrin James (315, 2000) and Robert Griffin (303, 2012). Mariota now has 385 fantasy points through his first 22 NFL games, which ranks ninth in history through that many contests.DeMarco Murray, RB, Titans: Perhaps Murrays accomplishments were even more impressive from a historic perspective, however. By scoring 25 fantasy points on Sunday, Murray managed his 10th consecutive game with at least 12 to begin the season, joining Larry Brown (1972) and O.J. Simpson (1975) as the only players since 1960 to manage at least that many points in their first 10 team games of a season.Murray also moved -- temporarily, in all likelihood -- into the scoring lead among running backs with the effort, as he now has 173 for the season. For reference, he had 175 fantasy points through 10 team games during his outstanding 2014 for the Dallas Cowboys; he had 107 in his final six contests for 282 at seasons end.Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers: He was heavily started, active in 96.6 percent of ESPN leagues, but his 26 fantasy points were plenty to earn him a spot here. Sundays game represented the 36th time in Rodgers career that he managed at least 25, putting him behind only Drew Brees (46), Peyton Manning (43) and Tom Brady (36) on that all-time list.Allen Robinson, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars:?After he scored 18 fantasy points, his fantasy owners were surely asking, Where has this been all season? This was the first time in 2016 that Robinson has managed more than seven catches or 100 receiving yards, and it was his best individual fantasy performance since his 21 in 2015 Week 16. Unfortunately, a decent percentage of his owners missed out on the performance, as he was started in only 74.3 percent of ESPN leagues, his lowest rate all season.Delanie Walker, TE, Titans: Mariotas hot streak has coincided (unsurprisingly) with Walkers uptick in fantasy production, as his 18 points Sunday represented a new season high and gave him four double-digit performances in his past six games. He is now on pace for 134 fantasy points using standard scoring and 202 using PPR, which puts him within range of his 143 and 237 of 2015.Cameron Brate, TE, Buccaneers: For the second consecutive week, Brate scored double-digit fantasy poiints, and his 14 gave him 63 for the season and -- at least temporarily (though also likely come weeks end) -- earned him a place among the top 10 scorers at his position for the season.dddddddddddd His start percentage actually dipped this week, though, to 17.9 percent of ESPN leagues.Tyrell Williams, WR, San Diego Chargers: Though his clutch, fourth-quarter touchdown was quickly overshadowed in a heartbreaking loss for the Chargers, Williams score gave him 18 fantasy points and put him in a tie for second place in WR scoring this week . He set a single-game career high with this effort and it was his fourth double-digit performance in his past six games.Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys: Though his 18 fantasy points earned him a mere share of eighth place among quarterbacks for the week (that through the 4 p.m. ET games) -- and keep in mind that five quarterbacks managed 18 -- Prescotts consistency does warrant a mention. This was his eighth consecutive game of 15 fantasy points or more, which is the longest streak by any rookie quarterback since at least 1950; Prescott, in fact, has had at least 17 in all eight of those games.LeVeon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers: His 24 fantasy points, remarkably, matched his fourth-best single-game total, and represented his most in a single game since 2014 Week 14 (41).Colin Kaepernick, QB, San Francisco 49ers: His was yet another unexpected occurrence, as he had 23 fantasy points, easily the most by any individual quarterback against the Arizona Cardinals this season. Fantasy owners showed their doubts about the matchup by starting him in only 3.0 percent of ESPN leagues.LosersMichael Thomas, WR, New Orleans Saints: On the heels of his single-game-best 19 fantasy points in Week 9, Thomas posted a zero-point stinker on Sunday, fueled primarily by two lost fumbles. They were the first two fumbles of any kind (recovered or not) in his nine-game career. He was started in 46.7 percent of ESPN leagues, which places him among the 30 most-started wide receivers, and while much of the blame could be attributed to the brutal matchup against the Denver Broncos, that fellow Saints wide receivers Willie Snead (16 fantasy points) and Brandin Cooks (15) easily outscored him was surely a frustration to those who risked using Thomas.A lone bright spot for Thomas: His six targets trailed only Sneads seven among all Saints players (any position), though its difficult to get a read on what the fumbles might do to his target share come Week 11, as both occurred during the fourth quarter. Cooks did get three of Drew Brees four looks in the Saints final drive after Thomas second fumble (Ingram got the fourth).Carlos Hyde, RB, 49ers: Though fantasy owners were somewhat prepared for a lackluster Hyde game -- he was started in only 35.6 percent of ESPN leagues -- his one-point performance did let down a fair share of teams. It was his worst single-game score since 2014 Week 14 (0), and it was only the second time in his career that he managed a score that low in a game in which he had double-digit carries (he also had one fantasy point, on 11 carries, in 2014 Week 6).Zach Miller, TE, Bears: While across the field the aforementioned Brate excelled, Miller was a big disappointment facing the more favorable matchup on paper. Fantasy owners started Miller in 43.6 percent of ESPN leagues, but Miller delivered just three fantasy points on his seven targets, which marked the fourth time this season that he had been held to that few.Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs: He was the third most-started tight end in ESPN leagues, active in 83.9 percent, but he scored only five fantasy points on his six targets while facing an extremely favorable matchup. Kelce has now been held to five fantasy points or fewer in five games -- and four of his past five -- this season.Brandon Marshall, WR, New York Jets: The Jets late change from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Bryce Petty at quarterback was expected to have an adverse impact upon Marshalls fantasy production, but a one-point game on six targets was beneath even the most pessimistic projections. It was Marshalls lowest fantasy point total since 2014 Week 3 (0), and it was his fifth game (out of 10) this season with fewer than six fantasy points. In 2015, Marshall never scored fewer than six in a game all season.Alshon Jeffery, WR, Bears: He was started in 88.2 percent of ESPN leagues, ninth among wide receivers, but managed a mere four fantasy points on nine targets despite his matchup against a Buccaneers team that, entering the week, had afforded the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Jeffery has now been limited to single digits in seven of his nine games in 2016.Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams: What a letdown of a season Gurley has endured. He scored just six fantasy points Sunday, the second consecutive week and fourth this season that he was held to that few or fewer. Twenty-three running backs, as of the conclusion of the 1 p.m. ET games, had outscored Gurleys 79 fantasy points for the season. That puts him on pace for 140 fantasy points come seasons end, which would be 36 fewer than he had in 2015 (176), and bear in mind that he missed three games during that rookie campaign. ' ' '

Mohammad Irfan has been ruled out of the remainder of the England tour after suffering cramps during his comeback match in the fourth ODI at Headingley. Hasan Ali will replace him in the T20 squad.A statement from the PCB said that Irfans cramp began in his hamstrings before developing in both his right and left calf and that he will be sent back to the National Cricket Academy to work on his fitness.Irfan, who was called into the squad after Mohammad Hafeez was ruled out, had started promisingly on his return, removing Alex Hales and Jason Roy during a lively five-over opening spell, and also troubled Eoin Morgan. After spending time off the field he tried to bowl again for the 42nd over of the innings but could only manage one delivery, a wide that did not touch the pitch, before walking off again.Mickey Arthur, the Pakistan coach, did not hide his frustrations in the dressing room but later defended Irfans call-up despite his very limited recent cricket, insisting that checks and balances had been in place.Shortly before the news of Irfans withdrawal was confirmed Azhar Mahmood, Pakistans bowling coach, said it had to be acknowledged that Irfans size made him a unique case.Definitely Mickey was unhappy and as bowling coach I was unhappy as well. We had a chance to win that game the other day, Mahmood said. Unfortunately, everyone gets cramp. He is a big guy and his body is totally different to a normal human. But he got cramps.Mahmood, who took on his current role at the start of this series, replacing Mushtaq Ahmed who had been bowling coach for the Test series, defended Pakistans attack and said he had seen improvement after they conceded the world record 444 for at Trent Bridge. They bowled really well [at Headingley] and if Irfan wasnt getting cramps, it was a different ball game. Definitely, we didnt bowl well enough in Nottingham. If you see Trent Bridge, every score is at least 381 in the last 50 over-games. Unfortunately we didnt bowl well, but we are working hard on our skills, our line and length and all disciplines. We didnt bowl any no-balls in the last game, we bowled five beforehand so this is a positive and we have a young guy, Hasan Ali, who is promising. He has shown some grit and we see Umar Gul is back. He didnt bowl well in Southampton but he has come back - its totally different when you are playing in a match and in a tough situation. Under pressure, you do different things, you know. Vernon Wells Blue Jays Jersey . Tevez, who has had conflicts with coaches in the past, has not been called up since Sabella was named coach in 2011. LOS ANGELES -- Howard Bingham, longtime personal photographer, confidant and perhaps the closest friend of boxing great Muhammad Ali, has died at age 77.Harlan Werner, Binghams agent and longtime friend, told The Associated Press the photographer died Thursday. No cause of death was given, but another friend, sportswriter Mohammed Mubarak, said Bingham had been in failing health in recent months after undergoing two surgeries.During a friendship that spanned more than half a century, Bingham took literally hundreds of thousands of photos of Ali that ranged from the three-time world heavyweight champions many ring triumphs to quiet day-to-day moments with his family. He captured the young, handsome champion preparing for his first heavyweight championship fight against Sonny Liston in 1964 and, years later, the aging Ali, hands shaking from Parkinsons disease, preparing to light the flame opening the 1996 Olympic Games. He photographed Ali greeting everyone from former President Bill Clinton to South African President Nelson Mandela to black Muslim leader Malcolm X. And he was there with his camera when throngs of awe-struck fans surrounded the champ on the street.Although known largely as Alis photographer, Bingham also had a distinguished career as a freelancer. He photographed the 1967 race riots in Detroit and was at Chicagos Democratic National Convention in 1968 when violence exploded between protesters and police. In the 1960s he developed enough trust with the fledgling Black Panther Party that its members gave him free reign to photograph them -- and their weapons stash -- for a feature Life magazine had planned. After the story was not published -- They got scared, he later told the Los Angeles Times -- he included the photos in his 2009 book, Howard L. Binghams Black Panthers 1968.He was one of the greatest storytellers of our time, said Werner.ddddddddddddYou look at the history in his photos. And the photos themselves, theyre just amazing. The public has never seen some of the best of Ali, Werner added, because the unfailingly modest Bingham never wanted people to think he was cashing in on their friendship. But he did publish a book including some of them in the acclaimed 1993 photo memoir, Muhammad Ali: A Thirty-Year Journey.Bingham started off his career in 1962 as a fledgling photographer for the small African-American Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper, and was assigned to cover a fight by an up-and-coming young boxer then known as Cassius Clay.He would tell Ali years later he had no idea who he had been sent to photograph, but when he saw him and his brother wandering around downtown after the fight he offered to show them around. Later, he invited them to his mothers house for dinner. It was the beginning of a friendship that would endure until Alis death in June. The eldest of seven siblings, Bingham was born in Mississippi on May 29, 1939, and moved to Los Angeles as a child. He eventually enrolled in Compton Community College, where he failed a photography class. He blamed it on spending too much time having fun and not enough studying. But he applied to be a photographer at the Sentinel a few years later and, after repeated inquiries, he was finally hired.I went off on jobs, came back with underexposed film, blurred film, no film -- and I always had an excuse for what went wrong, he told the Times.Eventually he learned enough about photography on the job to land the Ali assignment.Bingham is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and son, Dustin. Another son, Damon, preceded him in death. ' ' '

The season isnt even a month old and already it seems we may have seen the full range of fantasy value for Klay Thompson and Bradley Beal. Both of the shooting guards have overcome ice cold starts to put up huge numbers over the past week, moving up this weeks rankings. At his worst just a few weeks ago, Thompson looked like an afterthought in the Golden State Warriors offense, camping out in the corner while Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green handled the ball the majority of the time. When the ball finally came to him, his jumper was as off as weve ever seen it in the pros. That all changed on Nov. 7, when Thompson shot 11-for-20 from the field and finished with 24 points in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Since that game, he has made at least three 3-pointers in seven straight games and scored at least 20 points in five of those. More importantly, that golden jumper is back, and Thompson has shot more than 50 percent from the field in all but one game since beating the Pelicans.Thompson jumps from No. 36 to 23 in the rankings. Then theres Beal, the Washington Wizards guard, who I cut in my home league last week while Beal was out of the lineup nursing another injury. Time will tell if the oft-injured 2-guard can stay on the court, but you have to give him credit for the way he has played since returning. Beal eased his way back with 18 points in 29 minutes against the New York Knicks on Thursday before going for 34 points against the Miami Heat and setting a career-high on Monday with 42 points against the Phoenix Suns. Also encouraging is the fact that he was able to log 40 minutes in each game. On top of that, Beal connected on 9-21 3s in those last two games, and anytime Beal shoots like that and shows such aggressiveness on the offensive end he becomes a much more valuable fantasy player.Listed all the way down at No. 89 while out of the lineup last week, Beal makes the jump up to 65, between Jabari Parker and Harrison Barnes.Another notable to rise in this weeks standings is C.J. McCollum (20), who was too low at 29 last week and continues to scorch the nets from long range. Weve made the proper adjustment. McCollum is shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 45.9 percent from 3-point land this season, which makes him all the more valuable at a position like shooting guard in which efficiency is often hard to find.Al Horford returned from an extended absence following a concussion he suffered in practice and averaged 19 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.5 steals and 3 blocks in his first two games. He averaged 35 minutes in those games, and both came against defensive-minded coaches (Tom Thibodeau and Stan Van Gundy), which is also encouraging. Horford moves up 10 spots from No. 43 to 33.Jrue Holiday also looked strong in his first few games of the season, warranting a climb from No. 76 to 56. The Pelicans veteran point guard averaged 21.5 points and 8 assists in only 26.5 minutes per game against Portland and Charlotte. Its safe to say hes already back to his normal value after missing all of training camp and the first three weeks of the season to tend to his wife following her brain surgery. On the other side, Denver big men Nikola Jokic (from No. 79 to 117) and Jusuf Nurkic (from No. 55 to 94) represent two of the biggest fallers this week. Both young Nuggets have loads of talent, but as long as they are playing only 22 minutes a night, neither is going to make a consistent fantasy impact. Just make sure you realize that if you drop or trade them now, youre selling low.Nerlens Noel (141) is still a few weeks away from returning to the court and even when he does, hell have to battle for minutes with Dario Saric, Ersan Ilyasova and eventually Ben Simmons. He isnt the same fantasy player on this seasons team as he was in previous years, and might strictly be a streamer.J.J. Barea falls out of the Top 150 following the news that hell be sidelined up to six weeks due to a calf injury. If you have an IR spot, hes worth stashing, but otherwise hes not worth waiting around for if it means sacrificing a roster spot for a month and a half.Lastly, theres Chandler Parsons, who hasnt played well in the six games he has appeared in this season (21 MPG, 7.7 PPG, 3 RPG, 39.1 FG%) and now will miss the next two weeks after being diagnosed with a bone bruise in his left knee. He falls all the way to No. 134 this week. Here is the full rundown of the rest of the updated Top 150: Oscar Gamble Jersey . -- On the field, it was business as usual for Jameis Winston and No. Pedro Cerrano Indians Jersey .J. MONTREAL -- The Montreal Canadiens own the NHLs best record, but they arent playing at peak performance ahead of battle with the long-time rival Boston Bruins on Tuesday at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens (10-1-1) won the teams first meeting on Oct. 22 in Boston, in the middle of their 9-0-1 run to start the season.Recently, however, Montreals play started to tail off. In addition to allowing 14 goals in the past two games -- a 10-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday and a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday -- the Habs are also seeing their shots against rising considerably.Montreal has allowed at least 35 shots on goal in four straight -- including at least 40 in two of those games -- and more than 30 in each of the past five games.Despite the high volume of rubber his goaltenders are facing, Canadiens coach Michel Therrien isnt overly concerned.I remember last year, there was a stretch in December where we were outshooting our opponents 40, 42 to 20, 19, 17, and we were losing 3-(1) or 4-1, Therrien said. There was panic across the province. That year, we had a good start. Lately, weve been giving up more shots, but these are things that will correct themselves. Am I worried? No.Therrien acknowledged the team does have things to work on. And while he didnt specify, discipline and the penalty kill are certainly areas Montreal would like to get back on track. Penalized five times in each of the last three games, the Canadiens saw their penalty kill take a hit in their past two outings, allowing four power-play goals against the Blue Jackets and another two to Philadelphia. That potentially is good news for the Bruins, who finally got their power play clicking in their 4-0 win over the Sabres on Monday. Boston (7-5-0) went 3-for-8 on the man advantage against Buffalo; the Bruins were 3-for-38 heading into that contest and had allowed as many short-handed goals as they had scored power-play goals. One of those short-handed tallies came in the previous meeting against Montreal.A little practice (in the morning skate) and obviously some pride in making sure that they were the difference-makers instead of ending up on the negative side, Bruins coach Claude Julien said of his power-play units following the win.The Bruins also are keeping opposing goaltenders busy of late. While averaging 27.5 shots on goal per game overall, Boston has picked it up recently, surpassing the 30-shot mark in four of its past five games.Julien wouldnt confirm who his starting goalie would be against the Canadiens. On Monday, Tuukka Rask started his fifth straight game since returning from injury, and he made 32 saves to blank the Sabres. Rask, who was out when Montreal played at Boston, is 5-15-3 with a 2.69 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage lifetime against the Canadiens. Its one of those games I dont think any player really wants to miss because its a big rivalry and theyre a great team, the netminder said when asked if he would play Tuesday, adding that the decision isnt up to him. Definitely dont want to miss that, but well see.If not Rask, rookie goaltender Zane McIntyre would be eyeing his first career win in his second NHL start. Fake NBA Jerseys . OKLAHOMA CITY -- After starting the season with a 6-1 record, the Oklahoma City Thunder were being looked at as the surprise team in the NBA. A week later, the Thunder are in a tailspin, riding a four-game losing streak. That is the situation that awaits the Thunder (6-5) when they play host to the Houston Rockets (6-4) on Wednesday night at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. The latest loss came Monday night when Thunder traveled to Detroit on the second night of a back-to-back. Near the end of the first quarter and the start of the second, Oklahoma City allowed the Pistons to go on a 23-6 run. It was an uphill battle from that point on, and Detroit emerged with a 104-88 victory.Defensively we started with really good energy, Thunder coach Billy Donovan said. In fairness to our guys, you can always expect on a back-to-back that youre going to be a bit leg weary. Generally thats going to affect your offense. Sometimes on back-to-backs you cant put stock or onus on having a great offensive output, but you have to hang your hat on your defense.Oklahoma Citys defense is getting precipitately worse, but it hasnt just been against teams such as the Golden State Warriors or Los Angeles Clippers. The Thunders last two defeats came at the hands of the Orlando Magic and Detroit, clubs that rank in the bottom seven in the NBA in scoring. Each team managed to score over a 100 against the Thunder. Were one of the top teams in the league when we play defensively, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook told The Oklahoman. So Im not really worried about whos playing and whos not.Having issues with defense, however, is not a good problem to have with the Rockets in town. Houston is 10th in the league in scoring at 107.8 points per game and fifth in 3-point shooting at 37 percent.Houston has noot had a problem putting up points this season.dddddddddddd The Rockets are coming off a 115-88 plastering of the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.I thought they came out with the right intensity, they came out the way they should have, Rockets coach Mike DAntoni said. We talked about it and came out in the second half the way we should have. That way we got some good rest. I saw a lot of good things. The Rockets might get even stronger Wednesday with the possible return of guard Patrick Beverley, who has been out since the preseason after undergoing left knee surgery.Beverley and the Thunder have a history that goes back to when he crashed into Westbrooks knee during the 2013 postseason. Westbrook ended up with a torn meniscus that cost him the rest of the postseason. Thunder fans catapulted Beverley to the top of their most hated list, which he has held onto since then.Against the 76ers, Rockets guard James Harden posted 33 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. He is now one of only three players in history to average at least 30 points and 10 assists through 10 games. Harden was also named Western Conference Player of the Week. However, Harden seems to be more focused on making sure his team plays the right way. Were getting better game by game, and defensively were getting better and offensively has been better, too, Harden told ESPN.com. We take it one game at a time. These next three games will be extremely tough; well be all right as long as we continue to do the things weve been working on.Asked his assessment of the Thunder in the wake of Kevin Durant exit in free agency, Harden said, Its Russ. Its Russ, and its a one-man show. ' ' '

RICHMOND, Va. -- It was yet another Denny Hamlin runaway for Joe Gibbs Racing on Saturday night in what turned out to be an anticlimactic end to NASCARs regular season. The fireworks came off the track at Richmond International Raceway, where Ryan Newman angrily chided former boss Tony Stewart after an accident between the two officially ended Newmans chances to make the playoffs. The verbal beat down from Newman came with 37 laps left, before Hamlin finished off his third career Sprint Cup win at his home track while giving JGR its third consecutive victory at the track and ninth in the last 15 races.Newman called Stewart bipolar, said the retiring race car driver had anger issues, and all but outright referenced the 2014 incident in which Stewart fatally struck a sprint car driver.I guess he thought he was in a sprint car again and didnt know how to control his anger, Newman said after the two made contact three times before finally wrecking. Dylan Lupton couldnt avoid the accident and his car ended up wedged between the wall and on top of Newmans car when the crashing finally ceased. The wreckage caused a stoppage of just over 20 minutes and sent Newmans temperature soaring. Newmans team was penalized 15 points this week by NASCAR for failing post-race inspection at Darlington, and the punishment made his task of trying to race his way into the Chase extremely difficult. But few expected him to be so harsh toward Stewart, who employed Newman for five years until Newman was let go from Stewart-Haas Racing at the end of the 2013 season.Just disappointing that you have somebody old like that that should be retired the way he drives. Its just ridiculous, Newman said. I dont think there was any reason other than him just being bipolar and having anger issues. Google Tony Stewart, youll see all kinds of things hes done. Look it up on YouTube, everything else. Quite the guy.Stewart is retiring at the end of the season and already had his spot in the Chase secure headed into Richmond. There were three spots available in the Chase at the start of the night, but Newman was going to need a near-miracle.He didnt get it, and the remaining playoff positions in the 16-driver field went to rookie Chase Elliott, Austin Dillon and Jamie McMurray. Chris Buescher also made the Chase by virtue of his win at a rain-shortened race and by maintaining a spot in the top 30 in points. The rest of the Chase field is made up of the other 12 race winners this season.JIMMIES LONG NIGHT: Six-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson didnt appear to be Chase ready in the final tuneup. He had a tire go down, hit the wall, and his crew had an uncontrolled tire on pit road during Johnsons 11th-place finish. Although he has two wins this year, hes at career lows in nearly every category, including laps led.BUSTED BLANEY: It was a short night for Ryan Blaney, who guessed stubbornness was to blame for an accident just 11 laps into the race. Blaney made contact with Trevor Bayne that caused a flat tire and sent Blaney into the wall. He was baffled because he thought he was clear of Bayne, but figured Bayne thought otherwise and neither driver would yield.I should know better than that, Blaney said. We didnt even give ourselves a shot at it, that is something I will have regret about.UP NEXT: The opening race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship on Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway. The field starts with 16 drivers, which will be whittled down over nine rounds to create a final four to race for the title Nov. 20 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. China NFL Jerseys . The pace was so easy, I thought people would just come with me.I felt good and was comfortable with the pace I was going, but I knew I had the best in the world behind me and I knew they would catch me, but I just tried to hold on.I dropped down to ninth at one point, but I thought, screw this, Ive not led the race for this long to finish outside the top eight, and just went for it.I cant be disappointed with sixth place at the Olympics, but I could have done better.Irelands Alex Wright finished 46th in 1:25:25. LOS ANGELES -- Dan Ugglas batting average is the last thing on his mind. The slugging second baseman prefers to concentrate on home runs, RBIs and the Atlanta Braves comfortable lead atop the NL East. Uggla had two homers and four RBIs in an 8-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. It was the 18th multihomer game for the three-time All-Star and his second this year. Since the start of the 2006 season, his first in the majors, Uggla leads all players at his position with 222 home runs -- 42 more than Yankees slugger Robinson Cano. He entered this four-game series hitting .183. "The batting average is what it is," Uggla said. "I mean, it aint the first time Ive hit .180, .170, .160, whatever. But I throw those numbers out the door. The way I look at it, were eight games up right now -- and thats without me doing anything at all. But I know what Im capable of doing. And if I can be more consistent and help these guys out by driving in some runs, thats all that matters. "You always want to feel like you matter and feel like you were a factor. There were a lot of times this year where I didnt. So to get some homers and drive in some runs feels good," he added. Freddie Freeman drove in three runs with a double and Mike Minor kept the Braves rotation rolling with six solid innings. Atlanta had an eight-game lead over second-place Washington -- the largest of any division leader -- pending the nightcap of the Nationals doubleheader against Minnesota. The Braves, who won the season series 5-2, grabbed a 4-1 lead with four runs in the third against rookie Matt Magill (0-2). All of them were unearned because of an error by three-time Gold Glove first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, who fielded Justin Uptons dribbler a few feet from the foul line and dropped the ball while making a hurried attempt to tag him. It was his seventh error, two more than he had last season. Freemans single loaded the bases, and Evan Gattis followed with a sacrifice fly before Uggla drove a 2-1 pitch into the Dodgers bullpen in left field. He led off the fifth against Ronald Belisario with his 13th of the season and third in two days. "Hes a veteran player, hes been around a while and hes seen every kind of pitch. So nothing can fool him," Magill said. "But if you dont have good command, you cant get anybody out." Minor (8-2) allowed a run and six hits, struck out six and walked three while helping the Braves gain a split of the four-game series. The left-hander is 5-0 with a 1.76 ERA over his last seven starts. Atlantas rotation has yielded four runs in 37 1-3 innings spanning the teams last six games. The stretch includes eight innings of one-hit ball by rookie Julio Teheran -- who came within four outs of a no-hitter on Wednesday against Pittsburgh -- and back-to-back starts by Tim Hudson and Paul Maholm in which each allowed one run in Braves losses. "Its just a friendly competition among everybody. You always want to top the guy before you," Minor said. Magill was charged with seven runs -- three earned -- and four hits over 3 2-3 innings in his sixth major league start, none of which the Dodgers have won. The 23-year-old right-hander from Simi Valley issued six walks, giving him 28 in 27 2-3 innings and a 6.51 ERA. He was recalled Sunday from Triple-A Albuquerque to fill in for Ted Lilly, who wasnt able to pitch because of a neck sprain and was placed on the disabled list for the third time this season. "Its tough not being able to have a set schedule and not being able to pitch every five days," said Magill, who gave up nine walks last Sunday at Colorado in a 7-2 loss. "But when they need you here, youve got to make sacrifices and still be able to compete. Thats why its so frustrating, because Im not giving myself a chance to win games. I know in my head I can do it, but my bodys just not hooking up right now the way I want it to and my fastball command hasnt been there." Atlanta increased the margin to 7-1 in the fourth when Magill loaded the bases with his second walk of the inning and gave up Freemans three-run double just beyond the outstretched glove of centre fielder Skip Schumaker after getting a visit from pitching coach Rick Honeycutt. "When youve got bases loaded and two outs, you just want to try and get at least one more run," said Freeman, second in the NL in hitting with runners in scoring position. "Im not trying to do anything differently with guys on base. I just try to hit the ball hard every single at-bat, and for some reason they seem to fall with people on. I was fortunate to get one in the gap and luckily he didnt make that play. Its always nice to kind of blow it open a little bit and let Mike settle in." Los Angeles loaded the bases with none out in the first on the first of three hits by electrifying rookie Yasiel Puig, a bunt single by Nick Punto and a walk to Gonzalez. Puig was forced at the plate on a grounder and Luis Cruz struck out, but Schumaker drove in Punto with an infield single. That extended his career-high hitting streak to 15 games, the longest by a Dodgers player this season. NOTES: Puig completed his first week in the majors with 13 hits in 28 at-bats, four homers and 10 RBIs in seven games. ... Minor is 13-2 with a 2.33 ERA in his last 20 starts, a stretch that began after his 5-0 loss to the Dodgers on Aug. 19. ... Schumaker started in CF for the seventh time this season, with Andre Ethier getting the day off and Matt Kemp still on the DL. Adam Wainwright Jersey . Liverpool owner John Henry says fan protests against ticket prices are causing the club to reassess plans to further redevelop Anfield.Henrys Fenway Sports Group apologized to fans earlier this year and reversed planned rises in ticket prices after a walkout during a game. But having funded the redevelopment of Liverpools main stand over the last year, the next phase of the expansion program might not make economic sense if the club cant recoup the construction cost. The Anfield Road stand had been next in line for rebuilding at the 54,000-capacity Anfield.I dont know if there is a next step because ticket prices are an issue in England, Henry said. That may foreclose further expansion. Well have to see.Henry was speaking Tuesday at Yankee Stadium where his baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, was playing the New York Yankees.Liverpool has opened its first full season with Juergen Klopp in charge by winning four of its six Premier League games. The German signed a contract extension in July through 2022.He was a perfect fit for Liverpool, for the culture of the club, for the supporters, for the kind of team that we were trying to build, Henry said. We couldnt have asked for a better fit. With no European matches this season, Liverpool is chasing a top-four finish to return to the Champions LLeague.ddddddddddddrom the 2018-19 season, entry into the Champions League group stage is easier for English clubs with the Premier Leagues fourth-place team no longer having to go through a playoff. The market pool system, which steers UEFA prize money to clubs in England, Germany, and Italy, where the broadcasting deals are bigger, will be changed to reward better historical results in the competition. That should help Liverpool as a five-time European champion but see income drop for Manchester City, which has never won the continents top prize. The Champions League changes were agreed by a small number of club officials and UEFA, with the rest of Europe not knowing the outcome until the announcement in August.Henry said he was aware of other teams in England obviously not happy with the UEFA deal. The changes werent really discussed with us, they were implemented essentially. They unilaterally made changes to the market pool and there should have been I think more discussion. But I can tell you that the (Premier League) owners were not happy ... at least among the clubs that I speak with.---AP Sports Writer Ronald Blum in New York contributed to this report. ' ' '

Fabian Cancellara rolled back the years to win a second Olympic time trial gold on Wednesday as Chris Froome had to settle for bronze in Rio.Froome was bidding to emulate Sir Bradley Wiggins by winning the Tour and Olympic gold in the same year, after taking time trial bronze behind his compatriot four years ago.Wiggins won London 2012 gold 10 days after becoming the first British winner of the Tour, while Froome was in action 17 days after riding into Paris in the yellow jersey for a third time. But Cancellara, in his final season and winner of Olympic gold in Beijing eight years ago, had other ideas. The 35-year-old Swiss, who won the last of his four world titles in 2010, completed the 54.5-kilometres course in one hour 12 minutes 15.42 seconds.Froome finished in 1hr 13mins 17.54secs to place third, behind Tom Dumoulin of Holland, who took silver in 1:13:02.83.Froome had taken the sole British place, until Geraint Thomas late inclusion following a spate of crashes in last Saturdays road race prompted the withdrawals of Australias Richie Porte and Vincenzo Nibali of Italy. Thomas finished ninth in 1:14:52.85.Dumoulin, who won two stages of the Tour, but also suffered a fractured wrist, quit the road race almost as soon as it had started to save himself for the time-trial. Rohan Dennis of Australia was another contender. The course, featuring two laps of the undulating Grumari circuit, was a challenging one which was expected to suit Froome. But Cancellara had other ideas, storming to a farewell gold by 47 seconds from Dumoulin, with Froome more than a minute behind. It was a day for veterans as Kristin Armstrong, who is 43 on Thursday, won the womens time-trial for a third time. After starting her new partnership with Barbora Strycova of the Czech Republic on a winning note by clinching the Cincinnati Open on Sunday, Sania Mirza has said that she has no regrets anymore about having failed to win an Olympic medal in Rio last week.Sania, who lost the bronze medal play-off in the company of Rohan Bopanna to Radek Stepanek and Lucie Hradecká, left Rio in tears, but has bounced back strongly by claiming her sixth title of the year.Speaking exclusively to ESPN from Cincinnati, Sania admitted that while the loss was extremely shattering she is very proud to have responded to the emotional turmoil by producing some high quality tennis in the course of the week.I dont believe in regrets, Sania said. As an athlete I cant harp on about whether I made that forehand or someone made a serve or we would have won the match, thats not how sport works. In sports it is just about trying and fighting. Some days you fight and fail and some days you succeed and thats why sport is a great leveler. Was it disappointing and extremely shattering? Of course it was, but does that mean my world is over, no of course not. Of course I would have liked to win a medal, its really unfortunate it didnt happen. We tried our best thats all we can do but people have to take things in perspective and understand that we were fourth best in the world. I understand you dont win a medal for that but I will take that, Id rather be the fourth best than the 100th best. The final in Cincinnati also provided an additional sub-plot with Sania overcoming former partner Martina Hingis, who played with American Coco Vandeweghe, 7-5, 6-4 in a tightly contested final.Sania and Hingis had announced the break-up of their hugely successful combination during the Rio Olympics after a string of below-par performances. While not wanting to dwell on the reasons behind their split other than reiterating what was said in their official statement at the time, Sania did concede that playing against Hingis was not the easiest situation. We played each other in the final, which is of course the best time to play each other, she said. It was not the easiest situation, it is a bit weird. There are nerves but at the end of the day we are tennis players and we have to try and win and do our best and we both tried to do the same thing. We had a great partnership but it was time to move on and we have moved on. Weve both had a great tournament. I have to look forward and I have to focus all my energy on this partnership which is obviously doing great. Not surprisinglyy, Sania was all praise for 30-year old Strycova, who like her plays right-handed with a double-handed backhand.dddddddddddd Sania said Strycova was a great fighter and as an example, pointed to the final itself where they were trailing 1-5, 15-40 in the first set before storming back to clinch the next six games to pocket the set.We are really happy, it was a new partnership and we are obviously very happy and excited to have started this way and winning one of the big tournaments of the year, she said. We had a really tough draw. We have beaten some big teams and for us it has been an amazing week.As professional athletes you have to first see whether you match each other on the court, which is what I thought which is why I approached her to play when that split had happened. Obviously I was right because our playing styles compliment each other. We are similar personalities and we will get to know each other better in the course of time. We fight for every point.Strycova and Sania now head to New Haven for their last build-up tournament before the US Open in September. Sania won the final Grand slam of the year in 2015 with Hingis as part of a dream run that saw them construct a 41-match winning streak. Sania is hoping to go from strength to strength with Strycova on her most preferred playing surface - hard courts - for the remainder of the season. We play 25 weeks a year and we cant peak on all those weeks, she said. We are going to have times when are going to play our best and lose and sometimes not play our best and still win. Thats why longevity counts in tennis and sport.Consistent performances matter, its not a flash in the pan of one odd tournament. I have won six tournaments this year and played a bunch of finals which is huge already for this year. The hard courts are my favourite surface. I am looking forward to the next few weeks. I am not going to put any added pressure on myself that this what I need to do or should do.While Sania has turned to a new womens doubles partner, she is not changing course in the mixed doubles, where she will continue to team up with Ivan Dodig, with who she has played the first three Grand Slams of the year.Although Sania spoke warmly of her friendship and understanding with Bopanna in Rio, she says that she remains committed to the partnership with the Croat and the prospect of an all Indian pairing is not on the cards in the immediate future.
