Sam Shields will not be hitting the free agent market. According to a report from ESPN, the Green Bay Packers have re-signed the cornerback to a four-year, $39 million deal with a $12.5 million signing bonus. Shields, 26, has developed into the Packers top cover corner in his four years with the team. The former undrafted free agent tied a career-high with four interceptions last season. For his career he has 141 tackles and 13 interceptions. Oren Burks Jersey . LOUIS -- Known for his game-managing and defensive skills, Yadier Molina made another statement with his bat. JK Scott Packers Jersey . The Canadian defensive tackle suffered the injury on Monday and had tests done on Tuesday. He was a potential starter on the defensive line but head coach Mike OShea said he wasnt even thinking about the ratio when he got the news. http://www.officialpackersteamgears.com/...e-kizer-jersey/. The Vancouver coach and an announced sellout crowd of 18,910 watched in dismay as the Canucks lost 7-4 to the New York Islanders on Monday night by squandering a 3-0 lead in the third period. Tramon Williams Jersey . The Blue Jackets play Thursday night at New Jersey in their first game after the NHLs Olympic hiatus. A native of Trencin, Slovakia, Gaborik has represented his country at the 2006 and 2010 Olympics but was unable to play in Sochi because of his injury. Muhammad Wilkerson Packers Jersey . - Andrew McCutchen went 4 for 5 and finished a home run short of a cycle, and Jordy Mercer drove in a career-high four runs to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to an 8-2 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday.ST. LOUIS -- Jon Jay did not pick up a bat while missing five successive games with a sore wrist. Once he returned on Tuesday, the St. Louis outfielder quickly made up for lost time. Jay hit an RBI single with two outs in the eighth inning to break a tie and lead the Cardinals to a 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox in a battle between the two World Series teams from last fall. "It just felt great to be back out there," Jay said. "Even better to come through." The Cardinals won their third in a row and fourth in the last five. Boston has lost three in a row. Jay blooped a hit to left off reliever Junichi Tazawa (1-3) to bring in former Red Sox A.J. Pierzynski with the winning run. All-Star reliever Pat Neshek (5-0) picked up the win by striking out the side in the eighth. St. Louis closer Trevor Rosenthal recorded his NL-leading 35th save in 39 chances. "Today was a big day for us," St. Louis manager Mike Matheny said. "There were great at-bats from everybody." Especially Jay. "I didnt swing at all until today," Jay said. "But it feels good." St. Louis starter Lance Lynn gave up two runs on four hits over seven innings. Boston starter Rubby De La Rosa surrendered one run on six hits over six innings. Pierzynski started the winning rally with a two-out hit. He was signed by the Cardinals on July 26 after being released by the Red Sox on July 16. "Everyone wants me to say bad things about the Red Sox and Im not going to do that," Pierzynski said. "Im not bitter about what happened. It just didnt work. I dont have one hard feeling. The only thing is I didnt play well enough. I have nothing but respect for the organization and how they handled everything. I was proud to say I was a Red Sox." Oscar Taveras followed Pierzynskis hit with a single to set the stage for Jay..dddddddddddd "They did a good job of putting the bat on the ball," Boston manager John Farrell said of the Cardinals. "It seemed like Junichi had the eighth inning well in hand with two out, two strikes and nobody on. Three consecutive base hits and that was the difference." WHERE ARE THE CHAMPS? Only 13 players remain from the Red Sox 25-man roster that won the World Series last fall. Through trades and attrition, the average age of the team dropped from 31 on Opening Day, to 28 on Tuesday. KNUCKLEBALL MAN The Red Sox have recalled knuckleball specialist Steven Wright from Triple-A Pawtucket. Wright will be making his first stint on the roster this season after four appearances last year. WACHA ON WAY BACK St. Louis RHP Michael Wacha began throwing on flat ground Tuesday in hopes of returning to the starting rotation in early September. He has not pitched since June 17 with a stress reaction in his right shoulder. TRAINERS ROOM Red Sox: Newly acquired OF Allen Craig was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sore ankle. He suffered the injury Friday while running to first on a ground out. OF Corey Brown was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket and in uniform for Tuesdays game. He was hitting .226 with 16 homers and 39 RBI. Shane Victorino underwent successful lumbar discectomy surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday. ON DECK St. Louis RHP Shelby Miller (8-8, 4.14) will face close friend Joe Kelly (2-2, 4.37) in the second game of the three-game series on Wednesday. Kelly, who spent two-plus seasons with the Cardinals, will be making his first start for the Red Sox since being acquired in a trade July 31. The two served as Best Man in each others weddings in the off season. "Its going to be strange," Kelly said. "There will be some emotions there." The two sent good luck text messages to each other on Tuesday. New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Forsetts career night helped propel the Baltimore Ravens to a 34-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday. Forsett finished with a career-high 182 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries for the Ravens (7-4), who moved into a three-way tie for second place in the AFC North behind the Bengals (7-3-1). Joe Flacco threw for 243 yards and a touchdown on 18-of-24 passing, Steve Smith made four catches for 89 yards and a touchdown and Torrey Smith hauled in five passes for 98 yards in the win. Drew Brees completed 35 of his 45 passes for 420 yards with three scores and an interception, and Jimmy Graham had two touchdowns to go with 47 yards on six catches for the Saints (4-7), who went 0-3 on a homestand for just the third time in franchise history (1967, 1997). Despite the loss, New Orleans is tied for first with Atlanta in the underwhelming NFC South. It is the first time in NFL history that a division leader is three games under .500. Trailing 17-14 at halftime, the Ravens took control with 13 straight points. After Justin Tuckers 31-yard field goal tied the game on Baltimores initial drive of the third quarter, Will Hill stepped in front of a pass intended for Graham, picking off Brees and taking the ball back for a 44-yard touchdown and a 24-17 Ravens lead with five minutes to play in the third. Tucker booted a 55-yard field goal to increase Baltimores advantage to 27-17 early in the fourth. Shayne Graham split the uprights from 34 yards out on New Orleans next possession. Forsett provided breathing room for Baltimore after emerging through a hole on the left side and taking the ball 20 yards for a 34-20 lead with 2:53 to play. Graham made a 2-yard leaping score just inside the goal line to get the Saints within one score with 40 seconds to play, but Baltimores Kamar Aiken recovered the onside kick to seal the win. Joe Morgan raced 67 yards down the left sideline off a reverse on just the Saints second play from scrimmage. Two plays later, Mark Ingram appeared to fumble the ball just short of the goal line, but it was ruled that he was down by contact upon further review. The Ravens defense still made a stop, however, as a leaping Ingram was stuffed short of the end zone on fourth down. Forsett bounced off a defender and took off for a 38-yard gain on Baltimores first play and Steve Smith moved the chains after hauling in a 14-yard pass on third down. After a face mask penalty moved the Ravens deep into their opponents territory, Smith caught Flaccos pass while falling just in bounds past cornerback Brian Dixon for an early lead. Morgans 62-yard catch placed the Saints deep in Ravens territory and two plays later, Graham tied the game with a 10-yard grab with 3:26 to play in the first quarter. On the ensuing drive, Steve Smith made another big play, this time a 40-yard grab to place Baltimore at the New Orleans 8, but Kyle Juszczyk fumbled the ball at the goal line. New Orleans next drive stalled at their own 26 and the Ravens marched 69 yards down the field in four plays. Forsett found the back of the end zone on a 13-yard scamper to give the Ravens a 14-7 lead with 9:08 left in the first half to cap a drive that was highlighted by Torrey Smiths 40-yard catch. Kenny Stills jumped up in the air and ripped the ball out of cornerback Danny Gorrers hands for a 33-yard catch down to the 5-yard line. Graham bobbled a pass in the end zone on third down as the visitors settled for a 20- yard Graham field goal. After a Baltimore punt, New Orleans got the ball back with just under two minutes left in the first half. Marques Colston caught a deep pass over the middle for a 19-yard pickup before grabbing a pass in between two defenders for a 26-yard score and a 17-14 lead heading into the break. Game Notes Baltimore swept the NFC South this season ... The Ravens lead the all-time series 5-1 and have won three straight ... Forsett joins Dallas DeMarco Murray and Pittsburghs Antonio Brown as the only players with at least 65 total yards in every game this season ... The Ravens have won six straight games against NFC opponents ... Colston finished with 82 yards on four catches and Stills had eight grabs for 98 yards. DETROIT -- John Lackey figured there would be no margin for error. So when Justin Verlander began overpowering the Boston lineup, Lackey did his best to match him, out for out. "I knew I was going to have to pitch pretty good today," Lackey said. "Hes having a great career, great season, great post-season. The guys came through." Lackey edged Verlander in the latest duel of these pitching-rich playoffs, and Bostons bullpen shut down Detroits big boppers with the game on the line to lift the Red Sox over the Tigers 1-0 Tuesday for a 2-1 advantage in the American League championship series. Mike Napoli homered off Verlander in the seventh inning, and Detroits best chance to rally fell short in the eighth when Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder struck out with runners at the corners. "The runs are pretty stingy," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. "This is what its about in post-season, is good pitching." Despite three straight gems by their starters, the Tigers suddenly trail in a best-of-seven series they initially appeared to control. Game 4 is Wednesday night at Comerica Park, with Jake Peavy scheduled to start for the Red Sox against Doug Fister. Peavy set the tone Tuesday during a pregame news conference, when he sounded miffed that so much of the attention was focused on Verlander before Game 3. "Its been funny for me to watch all the coverage of the game coming in," Peavy said. "Almost like we didnt have a starter going today. Our starter is pretty good, too." So the Tigers arent the only team in this ALCS with good starting pitching. That was evident after Lackey allowed four hits in 6 2-3 innings, striking out eight without a walk in a game that was delayed 17 minutes in the second inning because lights on the stadium towers went out. It was the second 1-0 game in this matchup between the highest-scoring teams in the majors. Dominant pitching has been a running theme throughout these playoffs, which have included four 1-0 scores and seven shutouts. The Red Sox are now two wins from an American League pennant after overcoming each of Detroits biggest stars. Max Scherzer started Game 2 for the Tigers and was terrific, but Boston rallied from a five-run deficit against the Detroit bullpen to even the series. Then on Tuesday, Boston came away with a win in Detroit against Verlander, and when Cabrera and Fielder came up in the eighth, the Red Sox held on. Cabrera, who failed to reach base for the first time in 32 post-season games for the Tigers, never looked comfortable against Junichi Tazawa, swinging and missing at the first two offerings and eventually chasing an outside pitch for strike three. "To me, I (got) myself out. I was swinging at a lot of balls out of the strike zone," said Cabrera, who has been banged up for a couple of months but homered in Game 2. "When you swing at balls, youre not able to have success." Fielder looked even more overmatched against Koji Uehara, striking out on three pitches. Uehara also worked the ninth for a save, ensuring that Lackeys fine performance wouldnt go to waste. Lackey pitched poorly his first two seasons in Boston after signing an $82.5 million, five-year contract in December 2009. Then he missed all of 2012 following elbow ligament-replacement surgery. Hes been better this season, and he kept the defending AL champions off balance Tuesday by effectively changing speeds. Napolis first at-bat in the majors was against Verlander on May 4, 2006, at Comerica Park. He homered then, too. "Hes tough. He was on his game tonight. He was keeping all of us off balance," said Napoli, who rubbed his bat on teammate Jonny Gomes beard before going up to the plate. "I got to a 3-2 count and put a good swing on a pitch, was able to drive it." Detroits three starters in the ALCS -- Verlander, Scherzer and Anibal Sanchez -- have combined to allow two runs and six hits with 35 strikeouts in 21 innings. Still, the Tigers have fallen behind because their bullpen blew a four-run lead late in Game 2 and the offence came up empty at home on Tuesday. Detroit stranded runners on first and third in the first, then wasted Jhonny Peraltas leadoff double in the fifth. Peralta reached third with one out, but an overanxious Omar Infante struck out and Andy Dirks grounded out. Napolis homer was the first run allowed by Verlander since Sept. 18 -- he pitched six scoreless innings in each of his last two starts in the regular season before blanking the opposition for 21 innings in the playoffs. "We won a game with four hits tonight. It says a lot about this team," Gomes said. P.K. Subbans status remains a hot topic among Canadian hockey fans while Subbans play is of more interest to Team Canadas executive director, Steve Yzerman. Yzerman and company are guarding the specifics of their discussions, however, its believed Subbans stock is on the rise. MIAMI -- LeBron James leaped onto a courtside table as the postgame celebration was starting, thumped his chest and punched the air. Next stop: The Eastern Conference finals. Again. James scored 29 points, Dwyane Wade added 28 and Ray Allen delivered two huge plays in the final seconds as the Heat rallied to beat the Brooklyn Nets 96-94 on Wednesday night, winning the second-round matchup 4-1. "Its always been like that for us," James said. "Its never easy. Its never easy for us." Sure looks easy, though. It was the 10th straight series win for the two-time defending NBA champions. "When we met the first day for prep we said the No. 1 key, overwhelmingly the No. 1 key in this series, was great mental stability," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "Thats what it was down the stretch ... incredible focus." Incredible defence, too, when it was needed most. Down by eight with less than five minutes left, the Heat forced Brooklyn into nine straight missed shots while peeling off a 12-0 run to take the lead. Allens 3-pointer off an assist by Mario Chalmers with 32 seconds remaining was the go-ahead moment, and the Heat wouldnt trail again. Allen disrupted Joe Johnsons dribble on the games final play, James then swatted the bouncing ball out of everyones reach, time expired -- and the Heat advanced. "Give the Heat credit," Nets coach Jason Kidd said. "They were attacking there in the fourth quarter. We were attacking. Both teams were attacking. They made plays, they made shots and we didnt." Chris Bosh scored 16 and Allen finished with 13 for Miami. Johnson had 34 points, Paul Pierce scored 19 and Deron Williams had 17 for the Nets. Its the sixth trip to the East title series in the last 10 seasons for Miami, which is bidding for a fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals -- something only the Lakers and Celtics franchises have accomplished. James is heading to the East finals for the sixth time in eight seasons, the first two of those trips coming with Cleveland in 2007 and 2009. The Heat will next face either fifth-seeded Washington or top-seeded Indiana. The Pacers lead that series 3-2, one win away from setting up a rematch with Miami that seemed like an absolute certainty for much of the season. "Obviously, we thought this was a game we should have won," Johnson said. Brooklyn led 49-42 at the half, with Miami missing 15 of its first 16 tries from 3-point range. The Nets closed the half on an 8-0 run and the lone bright spot in the opening 24 minutes for Miami was Wade, who had 20 points -- more than any other two players to that point combined -- on 7-for-12 shooting. "He has a way, right? Hes a playoff warrior," Spoelstra said. Eventually, barely, Miami broke through. But it took most of the second half to get there, since whenever Miami tried to put together a run Brooklyn found a way to keep things together. -- A layup from James late in the third got the Heat within three; a minute later, the margin was eight again. -- A free throw from James with 9:03 left cut Brooklyns lead to 77-73; less than a minute later, it was 82-73 after a 3-pointer by Pierce. -- A 3-pointer by Bosh made it a four-point game again; two Brooklyn possessions and zero Miami stops later, it was 86-78 after a sensational step-back jumper by Johnson. And when Johnson connected on another tough shot with 4:49 left, it was 91-83 and the Nets could sense that the night would be theirs. Then the Heat scored the next 12 points, and that was enough. Barely, but enough. "For us, it was just about getting stops," Wade said. "We knew offensively that we needed to execute, but we knew we werent going to win the game unless we got some stops." For the Nets, more than $180 million in salary and luxury tax was supposed to bring a championship. Instead, billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov got only a trip to the second round as his return on a massive investment. Brooklyn lost centre Brook Lopez to a broken foot after 17 games, struggled through the first two months of the season, then turned it on after Jan. 1. "We fought back and hung in there this year," Williams said. "A lot of people counted us out." Some big decisions -- mainly regarding the futures of Pierce and Kevin Garnett -- will have to be made by the Nets. Pierce will be a free agent; Garnett has a year left on his deal, though its been speculated he will consider retirement. Garnett left without comment. "Emotions are too fresh right now," Pierce said. Miamis future is more clear. The East finals await. NOTES: Wade had 12 points in the first quarter, his highest-scoring output from an opening period in his last 179 regular-season and playoff games. ... Both of Johnsons 30-point games in these playoffs came on the road. He had 32 at Toronto on April 30. Thomas Rawls Jets Jersey . On Saturday night, Winnipegs strong offense was again accompanied by some fantastic pitching which gave the Fish a commanding victory. Trumaine Johnson Jets Jersey . Wilfried Bony hit the bar and had a good penalty appeal for a push by Tottenham captain Michael Dawson turned down in the first half, before getting Swanseas consolation late on. Nathan Shepherd Jets Jersey . -- The Tampa Bay Lightning are disappointed, though not discouraged.COLUMBUS, Ohio -- So much for the undercard. Now No. 3 Ohio State must take on the heavyweights in the main events remaining on its schedule. Lenzelle Smith Jr. scored 17 points and LaQuinton Ross added 15 to lead the Buckeyes past overmatched and undermanned Louisiana-Monroe 71-31 on Friday night. An announced crowd of 18,534 didnt see much drama after the Buckeyes rolled to a big lead -- scoring the first 12 points of the game and the first 15 of the second half -- to turn it into a landslide. Many left before the end. Not even the players really enjoy playing such lopsided games. "The better competition, the more exciting the games are for us," Ross said. "Sometimes during the non-conference as you play some of these teams that are not as good as you are, you actually play down to (their level). Thats not good for teams. Thats not what youre supposed to do. Definitely when we come out in Big Ten play, its going to be teams that are just as good as us and were going to have to play better." Amedeo Della Valle chipped in with 14 points for the Buckeyes (13-0), who have won their first 13 games in a season for the fifth time in school history (1961, 62, 91 and 2011). Ohio State opens Big Ten play on Dec. 31 at Purdue. After not facing a ranked opponent up to now, the Buckeyes will be tested by the likes of No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 5 Michigan State, No. 22 Iowa and the rest of the conferences bullies. "We tell our guys, Youve got 18 battles coming up (and) the wars decided in March," coach Thad Matta said. "Just from the standpoint of the challenges that lie ahead, thats what guys sign up for when they come to play at Ohio State. Theres going to be some tremendous battles every night we take the floor." The Buckeyes won each of their first 11 games by double digits. They had far from an easy time of it in their most recent game. Down by eight points in the last minute, they went on a 14-3 run over the last 48 seconds to beat Notre Dame 64-61 on Dec. 21 at Madison Square Garden in the finale of the BlackRock Gotham Classic. In that game they scored 17 points in the first 19:12 of the second half and 14 in those last decisive 48 seconds. "We got a win but we didnt execute and we didnt do the things that we needed to do in the Garden," Smith said. "Today was about establishing ourselves. We know whats getting ready to come down the pipeline starting in the Big Ten. ... So we just wanted to come out strong, get baack to our system and what works for us, and being on top of our game.dddddddddddd" Smith said if the non-conference season did anything, it marked the Buckeyes as a team that no opponent will overlook. "Everybody else is watching now," he said. "Everybody cant wait to knock us off in the Big Ten." Friday nights game was a mismatch of epic proportions. Jayon James led the Warhawks (3-5), who have lost their last four, with eight points. They hit just 19 per cent of their shots from the field (10 of 54) and 17 per cent on 3-pointers (3 of 18). Ohio State came into the game fifth in the nation in scoring defence (55.9 points) and 13th in field goal percentage defence (.379). They went a long way toward padding those numbers while holding the Warhawks to 20 points on 23.3 per cent shooting in the opening half. The game was never in doubt after Ohio State bolted to a 12-0 lead in the opening 4 minutes. The Warhawks didnt score until Tylor Ongwae hit a baseline drive at the 15:34 mark. Ross got things going early with eight of the first 12 points, hitting his only two attempts from the field, including his lone 3, and adding a perfect 3 for 3 at the free throw line. Up 41-20, the Buckeyes opened the second half the same way they did the first -- on a run. Amazingly, ULM coach Keith Richard benched his starters at halftime and did not play them at all in the final 20 minutes. "The only way to make things happen is by playing hard. Im about tired of it. Its been going on at certain times during different games," Richard, who didnt attend a postgame news conference, said in a statement issued by the sports information office. "Those guys just arent going to play. Were not in a good place right now obviously after the last two ball games, mentally or physically." The Warhawks finally ended a 15-0 Ohio State run and a scoring drought of 9:50 when Chinedu Amajoyi hit two free throws at the 10:40 mark for their first points of the second half. It was all about getting ready for the next game for the Buckeyes. "I wouldnt say we got done everything we needed to get done but we definitely got better every time we stepped on the floor," Smith said, analyzing Ohio States first 13 games. "Just looking back to how we started the season until now, weve come a long way. I know we still have a long way to go. "Thats what we need to work to, getting ready for this game coming up on the 31st." BERLIN -- Gegard Mousasi forced Mark Munoz to tap out in the first round on Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Munoz vs. Mousasi at Germanys O2 World Berlin. Mousasi (35-4-2) showed resilience after a disappointing February loss to top contender Lyoto Machida. Munoz (13-5) wasted little time working inside for a takedown, but Mousasi showed ample defence, earning top position in an early scramble. Munoz eventually worked back to his feet, but Mousasi was always a step quicker with his movement and more accurate with his strikes. As Munoz continued to press for a takedown, Mousasi battered him with elbows and eventually moved to his opponents back. Bloodied and battered, Munoz tapped out at the 3:57 mark of the first round when Mousasi applied a rear-naked choke. "I worked a lot on the rear-naked choke and the guillotine," said Mousasi. "I set it up with punches, and I was able to get it. Hes a wrestler, so he always comes forward. I wanted to pick up the angles and slowly pick up the pressure." In the nights co-feature, C.B. Dolloway (15-5) made his case for a top-10 ranking with an impressive win over Frances Francis Carmont (22-9), a Tristar Gym fighter who lives in Montreal. Carmont used powerful strikes to batter Dolloway in the opening stages of the fight, kicking hard to the body and firing big right hands. Unfazed, Dolloway began to taunt his opponent and hang his chin before unleashing a crisp left hook that dropped Carmont to the floor. Dolloway pounced to finish, but Carmont quickly recovered and moved back to his feet. The two continued to trade strikes throughout an entertaining first round before Carmont scored a late takedown. However, Dolloway swept immediately to the top and finished the round in top position. Dolloway looked to work the body in the second, while Carmont continued to attack the legs and body with powerful kicks. Dolloway eventually worked inside for a takedown, moving to his opponents back and securing the dominant position. An alert Carmont tried to work for a kimura, but Dolloway kept his arm tucked and again finished the frame in a dominant position. In the third, Carmont initially looked for a takedown, but Dolloway defended the move and countered with one of his own. As blood trickled down his face, Dolloway advanced to his opponents back, but Carmont defended a choke attempt and worked back to his feet. A relentless Dollaway turned back to his wrestling, bringing the fight to the floor and moving quickly to mount. The pair scrambled for the remainder of the fight, but it was Dolloway who again was in top position at the bell. In the end, Dolloways effort was enough to earn him one of the biggest wins of his career by unanimous decision with scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28. "Im exhausted, but I feel on top of the world," Dolloway said. "Francis was hard to get to, and he was a little bit more difficult to get past than I thought he would be. I took a while to adjust and to get into the fight. Now Ive just got to keep working. This is what I want, so Ive just got to keep on working to get there." In a middleweight matchup that failed to live up to expectations, Sean Strickland (15-0) earned a controversial split-decision win over Luke Barnatt (8-1). The contest played out at a moderate pace with neither athlete truly taking control of the pace. Strickland was the crisper striker in the early going, and scored an early takedown in the second frame. But along the way, Strickland suffered a broken hand, and it limited his offence for the rest of the contest. Barnatt picked up his offensive volume in the latter stages of the bout, but he never truly put together any significant combinations, and Strickland was awarded a split-decision win with scores of 28-29, 30-27 and 29-28. UFC president Dana White immediately posted on Twitter, stressing that he felt the wrong man was awarded the victory. "I should have pulled the trigger more," Strickland admitted after the win. "In the third round, I was pretty much useless. I know my cardio was there though, going into the fight, and I knew I could push the pace. I just gave Luke Barnatt a lot of respect. Hes a tough guy." In the nights first main-card contest, Swedish featherweight Niklas Backstrom (8-0) picked up a victory in his UFC debut, submitting Finnish veteran Tom Niinimaki (21-6-1) in the first round. Niinimaki worked hard to get the fight to the floor, but once there, Backstrom scrambled first for a guillotine choke and then transitioned to his opponents back. Once in place, Backstrom locked a sneaky rear-naked choke, forcing a tap from Niinimaki with 45 seconds left in the first round. "Life is weird you know; you just have to work the hardest that you can and then everything will fall into place," an emotional Backstrom said. "This has been a really, really big dream for me. Everything happens so fast in the UFC." Presnel Kimpembe Jersey . -- One shot came out of bottom of a cactus, the other from the base of a desert bush with rocks scattered around it. "It was the not knowing, that was the hard part," said Hinchcliffe, who qualified second for the 500 after being cleared to return. "As a racing driver, were all control freaks basically, and not knowing and having your future in someone elses hands like that in a sense, it was very nerve-wracking." Hinchcliffe sustained a concussion when struck in the head by debris from another car in the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 10. He missed five days while waiting to be cleared and then qualified second, despite limited practice time. "You feel like youre falling behind," the 27-year-old Canadian said Tuesday at an Indy Car event in Milwaukee, site of a race in August. "The nature of this sport is, the guys that win are the guys that work harder than the other people. Thats in life. Thats a pretty universal truth. So, Ive always lived by that and Ive always worked very hard. Ive always tried very hard. It was so counterintuitive that in this case, to do the best job and to try the hardest, it was to do nothing." After most of Fridays practice was rained out, and one day of qualifying runs on Saturday, Hinchcliffe averaged 230.839 mph in Sundays qualifying, which was the fastest until Ed Carpenter averaged 231.067 mph as the last driver to attempt to qualify. "Basically, I had a day," Hinchcliffe said. "If I couldnt have a single run before attempting to qualify, they probably wouldnt have felt comfortable putting me in a car. "But, I did get one run on Friday and then I think we did one run on Saturday morning. So, I think my first qualifying attempt was like my ninth lap of the month." Carpenter shared the Milwaukee appearance with Hinchcliffee.dddddddddddd Carpenter said he was glad that Hinchcliffe was cleared to race. "It would be torture," Carpenter said. "Honestly, all the drivers were so happy that he was able to make it back, because to have to miss that race of all races. Every one of us waits the whole year to get back to Indy every year. "It wouldnt be fair for any driver to have to sit out for an injury." Hinchcliffe agreed that the fact that it was the Indianapolis 500 as opposed to another race made it more difficult. "Racing is difficult to compare to other sports for a lot of reasons in a lot ways," Hinchcliffe said. "For us, this our playoffs, this is our Super Bowl, this is our World Series. Nobody wants to be sidelined for any race, but if you have to be sidelined for one, good god, anything but the 500." As part of the event at the Milwaukee Mile, fans were allowed to walk the oval behind a slow-moving minivan carrying Carpenter and Hinchcliffe. The drivers faced backward out of the van and answered questions from track officials and fans in an informal conversation. "That was really impressive," said Hinchcliffe, adding that he had never been part of an event like that. "I think it gives the fans a unique perspective on everything and gave them an opportunity to ask a lot of questions, which was great. And actually get out on the racing surface. It was very cool." Scott Gerloski, 51, who lives in the Milwaukee area and described himself as an avid race fan, appreciated the chance to meet and talk with the drivers in an informal setting. "Its a great way to connect with the fans," Gerloski said. "It just made me have new favourite drivers in the sport. I dont follow Indy as closely as I once did only due to driver unfamiliarity, but these two guys I know now. I know these guys, I like these guys and Im going to pull for them." CALGARY - The Calgary Flames were sellers heading into Wednesdays NHL trade deadline, but buyers had yet to open their wallets a day out. The showiest items on Calgarys lot were forwards Mike Cammalleri and Lee Stempniak. Both will be unrestricted free agents this summer. Interim general manager Brian Burkes theory for slow business was shoppers were temporarily preoccupied elsewhere. Other forwards said to be on the market were New York Rangers captain Ryan Callahan, Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler, Matt Moulson of the Buffalo Sabres, Ales Hemsky of the Edmonton Oilers and Thomas Vanek of the Buffalo Sabres. "I think theres a logjam thats been presented or created by two, three, four players thats going to paralyze the rest of the league," Burke told reporters Tuesday at Scotiabank Saddledome. "Youll see other deals happening but I think the hold up for a high-end forward has kind been captivated by two, three, four players. "I think were on the backburner for a lot of teams right now. Doesnt mean nothing is going to happen, but thats where we are today. "Weve been in discussions with every team in the league and what theyre trying to do. We have some unrestricted free agents we will move if the price is right. Im not close on anything that makes sense for us." Trade speculation in Calgary has centred on Cammalleri, but with a record of 23-31-7 and destined for a fifth straight season out of the playoffs, the only Flames that Burke considered off limits were captain Mark Giordano and rookie sensation Sean Monahan. "When youre in the place we are in the standings, your list of untouchables should be either nonexistent or tiny," Burke said. Burke, the Flames president of hockey operations, stepped in as interim GM when he fired Jay Feaster on Dec. 12. He intends to hire a new GM. But Burkes mandate is to speed up Calgarys rebuild by whatever means necessary: trades, spending to the cap or the signing of free agents. "You cant be waiting for the next guy," Burke said. "Were going to do what we can to improve. If that means theres a few less decisions for the new guy, thats fine. "The dynamic of the trade deadline is, you want to show your players first and foremost, if youre close, you want the room to feel youve done something to add. You want the players to believe management is trying to make the team better." Only the Buffalo Sabres have scored fewer goals than Calgary in the NHL this season, but upgrades are needed both up front and on the blue-line. Cammalleri, 31, scored 39 goals and had 43 assists as a Flame and a linemate of Jarome Iginla in 2008-09. Cammalleri is in the final year of a five-year contract paying him $6 million annually. With the right linemates, Cammalleris offensive skills and experience make him an attractive rental for a playoff push. "Things change very quickly in the business," Cammalleri said. "When it comes to that, I think you understand why certain things take place and why they might be thinking along certain lines. "I feel my best hockey is ahead of me and I feel great about my game. Whether its here, or whatever happens, Im not concerned about my ability to help my team out." Stempniak, also 31, is in the second year of a two-year deal that counts $2.5 million against the salary cap. He has eight goals and 15 assists in 52 games this season. His wife gave birth to twin girls following the Olympic break and he could be on the move Wednesday. "I know thats a very likely possibility and have sort of braced myself for that," Stempniak said. "Ill either get a phone call or I wont get a phone call. "It could be two big life changes in the span of five days, but its part of the business. Thankfully on the family front, everything is going well there and everyone is healthy. Thats the most important thing. Whatever else happens, you think you can deal with it." Defenceman Chris Butler, whose salary is $1.7 million this season, is also scheduled for unrestricted free agency in July. Burke said he prefers adding a player who can upgrade the Flames immediately over acquiring draft picks. Calgary has a healthy dose of cap space to take on unwanted contracts as part of a deal as well. "I hope to be up here in a year talking about buying players, not selling players. Were selling," Burke said. "That being said, if we can salvage a hockey deal out of this were going to do that. "If we can turn our cap space into assets were going to do that. It could be a very important day for the franchise, the next 24 hours, but its not the same as when youre adding to try to make a push." The Flames host the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday. Coach Bob Hartley said Joni Ortio will get the start in net. Ortio was called up from Abbotsford, B.C., when goaltender Karri Ramo injured his knee Feb. 2. The Laval Rouge et Or defensive back/kick-returner gained the invitation following his showing Sunday at an NFL regional combine in Baltimore.Jake Peavy can give the San Francisco Giants a commanding lead in the World Series on Wednesday when he takes the ball for Game 2 against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Its been a tale of two seasons for Peavy, who was just 1-9 with a 4.72 ERA and 20 home runs allowed in 20 starts for Boston before he was traded to the Giants. Since hes been in San Francisco, though, reunited with former manager Bruce Bochy, Peavy has resembled the pitcher who won an NL Cy Young Award with the San Diego Padres in 2007. Peavy pitched to a 2.17 ERA and won six of his 12 starts with the Giants after the late-July deal. Hes also carried that into the postseason, surrendering just two earned runs in 9 2/3 innings in two starts. The 33-year-old hurler will try to follow another marvelous outing from Madison Bumgarner in Game 1 on Tuesday. Bumgarner continued to cement his status as the best postseason pitcher in baseball on Tuesday in Game 1, as he gave up one run over seven innings and the Giants rolled past Kansas City, 7-1. Hunter Pence provided the offense with a two-run home run and Pablo Sandoval reached base safely for the 24th straight postseason game with an RBI double in the first inning. San Francisco has now won seven straight World Series games. The winner of Game 1 has gone on to win 10 of the last 11 World Series and 15 of the past 17, with 2002 (San Francisco defeating Anaheim) and 2009 (Philadelphia defeating New York) being the lone exceptions. However, the last five road teams to win Game 1 have lost Game 2. Bumgarners only mistake was a two-out home run to Royals catcher Salvador Perez in the seventh inning, which ended his MLB-record scoreless innings sstreak on the road at 32 2/3 frames.dddddddddddd It was just about going out and making pitches and executing, Bumgarner said. I know thats a boring answer, but for me, thats all it is, is Im just trying to make pitches and take all that other stuff and push it aside and just concentrate on moving the ball around, getting ahead, and getting outs and getting us back in the dugout. The Royals saw their postseason winning streak come to an end at 11 games, as they fell for the first time in nine tries in these playoffs. We didnt expect to come in here and sweep the San Francisco Giants, Royals manager Ned Yost said. We knew that this was a series that was going to go deep. We know how tough they are. They swung the bats really well. The Royals, meanwhile, will turn to 23-year-old rookie Yordano Ventura, who has been battling some shoulder issues. He left his ALCS start versus the Orioles with tightness in his right shoulder after allowing four runs and five hits in 5 2/3 innings. After pitching to a 3.20 ERA during the season, Ventura has allowed seven runs in 13 innings this postseason. Of course, Ventura almost ended the Royals postseason chances when he served up a three-run home run in relief of Shields in Kansas Citys wild card game. He bounced back with a marvelous ALDS effort against the Los Angeles Angels, though, before being roughed up by the Os. For me, another thing I focus on is to live day by day, Ventura said with Game 3 starter Jeremy Guthrie serving as his translator. Really, what happened (against) Oakland, I had moved past that. These teams actually met in the regular season, as the Royals completed a three-game sweep at Kauffman Stadium. Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma didnt make any excuses for goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury a day after a stunning 4-3 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round series. Bylsma explained that he wasnt particularly pleased when Fleury misplayed the puck late in the third period on a sequence that allowed Brandon Dubinsky to tie the game with 24 seconds to play. "Typically the rule of thumb (when) the pucks on the glass is to stay in the net," Bylsma told reporters on Thursday. "This one was on the glass bouncing and Marc knows he should have stayed in the net." Fleury gave up the winner in overtime on a Nick Foligno wrist shot and the Penguins are tied 2-2 with Columbus heading back to Pittsburgh for Game 5. Bylsma was just as upset at the fact that Pittsburgh surrendered a 3-0 road lead in Game 4 and eventually lost the game. "The work and compete and the battle level has probably been the most troubling thing for our team," he said. Last night (to) get up three goals in the game and they were the team that worked...the most troubling, its got to be raised." Outside of goaltending, Bylsma called for more production from all of his players, including stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. "Theyre our best players," he added. "We need more from our whole team. And we need more from them." Fleury looks to get the nod in goal again on Saturday, as Bylsma said there were no injury or lineup updates to pass along before Game 5. Despite finishing 16 points ahead of the Blue Jackets in the regular season, Bylsma said he expected nothing less from his first round opponents. "We expect this to be tough, we expect it to be a tough series...were in a battle with Columbus, no matter who it is... we can go out there and win this series and move on and we know its going to be tough." It sure looked as if it was going to be a long night for the Houston Rockets. Then everything changed in the third quarter. Howard got back on track and a pair of role players stepped up to help Houston rally for a 97-90 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday. The Rockets trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half before scoring 33 in the third to go on top. San Antonio used an 11-3 spurt to pull within two in the final minutes, but Howard and Jeremy Lin helped Houston hold on for the win. "We just kept grinding it out," Rockets coach Kevin McHale said. "We changed a couple of things defensively and the guys kind of dug in and got stops." Howard had 23 points and 16 rebounds for Houston, which enjoyed a 55-39 advantage on the glass. Terrence Jones scored 21 points and Lin added 18 points and eight assists while starting in Hardens spot. Harden, who leads the team with 23.7 points a game, was out with a bruised left thumb. "I know I missed a lot of shots early," Howard said. "I didnt lose focus. I got a little frustrated because I wanted to make those shots, especially against Tim (Duncan). But I just tried to stick with it and show the team that no matter what Im going to battle." Boris Diaw scored a season-high 22 points for the Spurs, and he also had 11 rebounds. Tony Parker added 17 points and Duncan had 12 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks. Houston was clinging to a 90-88 lead with less than two minutes left when Howard had a dunk and Lin made a jumper. Duncan had a layup on the other end, but Lin sunk a pair of free throws to secure the victory. Houston has won all three meetings with the Southwest Division-leading Spurs to secure the season series for the first time since 1996-97. They have one scheduled game left on April 14 in Houston. San Antonios 90-point performance ended a streak of 15 straight games with at least 100 points and sent the Spurs to consecutive losses for the first time this season. The last time they were held below 100 was a 111-98 loss to Houston on Christmas Day. The Spurs got within six on a hook shot by Diaw early in the fourth quarter. Lin then scored five quick points to extend Houstons lead to 81-70.dddddddddddd Houston was up by four points with four minutes left in the third quarter when San Antonio resorted to the "Hack-a-Howard" defence, fouling the centre every time the Rockets got the ball. Howard made 13 of 25 foul shots on the night, leaving him at 52.2 per cent from the line for the season. "I figured they were going to do it," he said. "Im just glad I made most of them." Duncan lamented that the tactic backfired for the Spurs. "Thats what he had to do to get us out of it," Duncan said. "He made free throws and he hurt us with them." The Spurs employed the strategy on eight straight possessions, with Howard making 10 foul shots while they had six points as Houston extended its lead to 70-62. Diaw made a jump shot at the end of the third quarter to cut Houstons lead to 72-64 entering the fourth. The Rockets opened the second half with an 11-2 run, capped by a two-handed dunk by Howard, to take their first lead of the game at 50-48. Lin started the run with a 3-pointer and also had two free throws in the surge. Manu Ginobili made four free throws for San Antonio before Houston scored six straight points to take a 56-52 lead. Ginobili and Chandler Parsons then exchanged rim-rattling dunks in rapid succession. The 36-year-old Ginobili injured himself on his jam and was soon limping and holding his upper left leg. He remained in the game for a bit before walking off the court and into the locker room at the next timeout. The team said he had tightness in his left hamstring. He missed time earlier this month with the same problem. San Antonio led by 10 points in the second quarter before Howard made his first basket of the night after starting the game 0 for 8. The bucket was the first of five straight points for Howard with San Antonios only points in that stretch coming on a layup by Marco Belinelli, helping Houston close to 46-39 at halftime. Houston struggled early without Harden and San Antonio jumped to a 9-0 lead thanks to five points from Diaw. The Spurs pushed the lead to 21-6 with about five minutes left in the first. BATA, Equatorial Guinea - Host Equatorial Guinea made it to the semifinals and a referee only just made it out of the stadium in one piece as the African Cup of Nations descended into angry chaos on Saturday.Equatorial Guinea beat Tunisia 2-1 in extra time to make the last four of the continental championship for the first time, and after being helped in a big way by a hotly-disputed penalty call by the referee in the last minute of normal time.Mauritian referee Rajindraparsad Seechurn was chased by furious Tunisian players, who aimed punches and kicks at him, and only just made it to the safety of the tunnel at the end of the match with a riot police escort.Congo and Republic of Congo had earlier served up a roller-coaster second half in their quarterfinal, with Congo coming back from 2-0 down with four goals in the last 25 minutes to win 4-2 and reach the semis for the first time in 17 years. But the drama of that game was completely outdone by the evenings second quarter at Bata Stadium. With Equatorial Guinea trailing 1-0 and going out of its home tournament, Seechurn awarded it the hugely contentious penalty in the last minute of normal time, when Ivan Bolado appeared to dive to earn the game-changing spot-kick. Javier Balboa slotted in the penalty deep in stoppage time to send the game to extra time, and also curled in a brilliant winning free kick in the 102nd minute. But from the moment the penalty was awarded to deny Tunisia, there was a succession of ugly scenes.Players and coaching staff members clashed near the dugouts, the Tunisian team lost their heads and kicked, tripped and pushed their opponents on the field, and Seechurn had to run for cover at the end, chased by many of Tunisias furious players. The players were battered back by riot police as they also tried to get down the tunnel to the referee. All the while, 35,000 crazed Equatorial Guinea supporters roared and stamped their feet on the metal floors of the stadium to celebrate their teams historic progression to the last four.At the moment, Im the happiest man in the world, Equatorial Guinea coach Esteban Becker said.Tunisia coach Georges Leekens — who had angrily faced up to Esteban on the sidelines during some of the numerous melees — said his team was cheated. At the end, its no good for football, he said. Its very difficult to accept.Earlier Saturday at the same stadium, Congo also made it to the semis, but only after defensive lapses had let in Republic of Congos Dore Ferebory for the opener in the 55th minute, and again when Thievy Bifouma swept in a loose ball seven minutes later for a 2-0 lead.It seemed that was that, and Congo goalkeeper Robert Kidiaba yelled furiously at his defenders.Less than 20 minutes later Kidiaba was crying for joy and hugging one of the defenders after his team launched a thrilling comeback. Then, he was bouncing across the field with his renowned bum-shuffle celebration.Congos progress revived memories of a bygone era, when it was champion of Africa in 1968 and 1974 and one of the continents soccer powers. It has only made the semis once since 74.Dieumerci Mbokani began the fight back for the class of 2015 almost straight away, tapping in after being set up by Yannick Bolasie. The Canadiens began their current swing with a 3-2 regulation loss in Calgary, but have responded with consecutive victories in Edmonton and Vancouver. Both wins came by identical 4-1 scores. After downing the Oilers on Thursday, Montreal recorded its second straight 4-1 win Saturday against the Canucks. Max Pacioretty started the scoring early in the first period for the Canadiens, who will open a five-game homestand when they play their next game this Thursday against Columbus. Lars Eller tallied his fifth goal of the season, while Tomas Plekanec and Josh Gorges also lit the lamp for the Canadiens. Carey Price turned aside 39 shots for Montreal. "We played an excellent third period, our special teams played really well, we blocked a ton of shots...it was a complete effort by everybody," Price said. Ellers game-winning goal was an odd one to say the least. Vancouver defenseman Dan Hamhuis misplayed the puck behind the net and it went on to bounce off botth of Roberto Luongos skates and into the net.ddddddddddddEller was the only Montreal player close to the net and he was credited with a short-handed goal that gave the Habs a 2-1 lead. While Montreal attempts to end its current road trip on a positive note, the Jets hope to keep heading in the right direction on the clubs current six- game road trip. Winnipeg lost its third straight regulation game in the opener of this homestand, a 4-1 setback against Dallas on Friday, but rebounded with Sundays 3-0 victory over the winless New Jersey Devils. Al Montoya turned aside all 24 shots he faced in his season debut, backstopping the Jets to their first win since the second game of the season. Ondrej Pavelec started the first five games of the season before getting a breather on Sunday. Despite Montoyas strong showing on Monday, Pavelec expects to get the start tonight. Evander Kane scored two goals on Sunday for Winnipeg, while Michael Frolik added a pair of assists. "I take it upon myself to be one of the leaders in this room and on the ice," Kane said. "Whatever area I feel I need to lead in, whatever the situation is in the game I want to do that and I try to do that as much as I can." After Tuesdays tilt, the Jets will close this homestand with games against St. Louis, Nashville and Washington. The Canadiens have won five straight and eight of the last nine meetings with the Jets franchise. Montreal also has taken two of three in Winnipeg since the Jets relocated from Atlanta and the Habs have won three of the past four road meetings in this series overall. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars have ruled out rookie receiver Marqise Lee for the third consecutive game. The second-round draft pick wont play Sunday against Pittsburgh because of a strained right hamstring. The Jaguars (0-4) also are expected to be without Cecil Shorts III, who injured his left hamstring in last weeks 33-14 loss at San Diego. Shorts missed the first two games with the same injury. Lee, meanwhile, caught eight passes for 73 yards the first two weeks. Without him, fellow rookies Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson have stepped up. The Jaguars also expect second-year pro Ace Sanders to pick up extra snaps against the Steelers. Sanders returned to practice Wednesday after missing the first four games for violating the NFLs substance-abuse policy. Kevin Hogan Redskins Jersey . Craig Anderson stopped 46 shots in his first game back since being injured Mar. 10 as the Ottawa Senators beat the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 on Friday. "We found a way to win and thats all that really matters," said Anderson. "It felt good to come back from my whatever injury. Got back in there, get back in the saddle and it was good to see a lot of shots so you didnt have time to think and you just kind of read and react so it was really good." Clarke MacArthur had a goal and two assists to lead the charge while Erik Condra, Cody Ceci, Milan Michalek and Kyle Turris each scored for the Senators (30-29-14) Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa and Brent Seabrook scored for Chicago (42-18-15). Antti Raanta faced 29 shots. Chicago has lost three of its last four outings and captain Jonathan Toews says there are too many mistakes happening when his team has possession of the puck. "Id say there was some good moments where we did have control of the puck where we were getting point shots and second efforts and some of the things were looking for when were playing good hockey," said Toews. "Other than that it was sloppy turnovers, sloppy mistakes that we really need to get out of our system. We need to get those plays out of our game. Its as simple as that. We need to play some character hockey. Frustrating way to lose." Toews wasnt alone in thinking the Blackhawks failed to show their best effort. "I didnt like our game," said Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville. "We had a good start and obviously giving up a shorthanded (goal) right off the bat they got some momentum off it and played well." Ottawa scored twice in the third and killed off a 34 second two-man advantage to hold off the Blackhawks before a crowd of 18,922 at the Canadian Tire Centre. Turris made it 4-2 with a power-play goal at the six-minute mark of the third and MacArthur scored his 23rd of the season midway through the period to make it 5-2. "I thought we competed better," said MacArthur. "We had a little lapse in the second, but youre playing Chicago and theyre going to make a push, but we were able to make plays in the third and not clam up.dddddddddddd" Frustration started to set in for Chicago midway through the third when Andrew Shaw speared Zack Smith. Shaw was assessed a major and game misconduct for his actions. After the game Smith admitted he was less than impressed by the play. "A spear is always looked upon as pretty bad for someone to do," said Smith. "Its kind of a cheap shot, especially where he was aiming, but you saw the replay." The Blackhawks made it 5-3 with a shorthanded goal at the 17-minute mark as Seabrooks shot from the point just trickled across the goal-line. Ottawa jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but by the end of the second it was a one-goal game. The Senators were outshot 23-5 in the middle period. Chicago got on the board midway through the second with a power-play goal as Sharp took a great pass from Jonathan Toews and tipped it past Anderson. Hossa made it 3-2 when he scored with 41 seconds remaining in the second period. Hossa intercepted a pass at the Ottawa blue-line, cut through two defencemen and squeezed the puck past Anderson. Ottawa had made it 3-0 just 23 seconds into the second as Michalek tipped in a shot off a pass from Spezza. "I thought we had a little more confidence," added MacArthur. "I thought overall we had a little lapse and those are going to happen, but we answered back in the third which is big and I thought our (defencemen) moved the puck a lot better, especially in the third when we were under pressure." The Senators held a 2-0 lead after the first 20 minutes. Condra made it 1-0, scoring shorthanded midway through the first. And Ceci made it 2-0 in the final minute of the period as he scored from just inside the blue line. Notes: The Senators were without D Chris Phillips who missed his second straight game and RW Bobby Ryan (sports hernia, out for season). LW Matt Kassian was a healthy scratcha The Blackhawks are without RW Patrick Kane (lower body, two weeks), LW Bryan Bickell (upper body, day-to-day) and D Michal Rozsival (lower body, day-to-day). MINNEAPOLIS -- Brian Dozier has been everywhere for the Minnesota Twins during a breakout season for the sweet-swinging, slick-fielding second baseman. So it was no surprise that he had his fingerprints all over an eventful ninth inning against the Chicago White Sox. Dozier started a superb double play in the top of the inning that snuffed out Chicagos chances of taking the lead and then delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the frame to lift the Twins to a 5-4 victory Friday night. "The walk-off hit, it is what it is, but thats probably one of the best feelings Ive had in a while, to be honest with you," Dozier said of his defensive gem. The White Sox had already scored twice off closer Glen Perkins (3-0) to tie the game, and manager Ron Gardenhire decided to walk Gordon Beckham to load the bases with one out. Conor Gillaspie sent a high chopper in Doziers direction, and he had to make a split-second decision whether to come home with the throw or try to start the double play. He zipped a throw to shortstop Danny Santana, who fired a laser to Joe Mauer at first base that ended the inning. "Hats off to Danny," Dozier said. "If he doesnt have an AK-47 attached to his body, we probably dont turn the double play." Kurt Suzuki had three hits and an RBI and the Twins picked up Perkins, who blew his third save in 21 chances. In the bottom of the ninth, Daniel Webb (4-1) walked Eduardo Escobar and Sam Fuld with one out and Escobar beat the throw home with a beautiful slide to win it. The play was confirmed upon review. "I thought there was no way he made the plate, because I felt his hand on my cleat," White Sox catcher Adrian Nieto. "The replay showed he reached back with his right hand. So, he did a great job." Dozier, who is in consideration for the All-Star game thanks to his 15 home runs and stellar defence, was mobbed by his teammates after the big hit and cheered loudly as he exited the field. "Hes into the game pretty good," Gardenhire said. "Hes a fun player to watch play baseball." Beckham and Jose Abreu homered for the White Sox. Escobar drove in two runs and Ricky Nolasco gave up two runs and six hits in 5 1-3 innings to help the Twins to their second straight win after a five-game losing streak. Hector Noesi gave up four runs, six hits and struck out four in seven innings for the White Sox, who lost for the sixth time in the last eight games. Nolasco got off to an inauspicious start when Beckham and Abreu hit 825 feet worth of home runs off him in the first inning for a 2-0 lead. Beckhams was a screamer into the second deck in left field while Abreus landed in the bullpen in left-centre for his 21st of the season, drawing boos from an impatient home crowd. But the offence picked him up. Escobars 22nd double of the season scored two in the three-run second inning and Suzuki drove in another to make it 4-2 in the third. Nolasco settled down after that, not allowing a runner past first base over the next four innings. But the right-hander who was brought in to stabilize the top of a lacklustre rotation has often run into problems with a big inning later in his starts and Gardenhire didnt take any chances when two hitters reached base with one out in the sixth. "I was lucky to give up just two runs to that lineup with the stuff I had," Nolasco said. NOTES: The White Sox had their 23rd multi-homer game of the season. They are 18-5 in those games. ... Twins RF Oswaldo Arcia returned to the lineup after getting two days off to try and clear his head during a 2-for-32 slump. He went 0 for 3 and was hit by a pitch. ... RHP Kevin Correia (3-8, 5.29) will take the mound for the Twins on Saturday against RHP Andre Rienzo (4-4, 5.67). DJ Chark Jaguars Jersey . LOUIS -- Alexander Steen scored a power-play goal with 59. President Vladimir Putin has hit out at the decision to ban Russian track and field athletes from the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio. Putin described the exclusion of the athletes as discrimination and part of a deliberate campaign. And Putin also said that medals won in Rio would be devalued due to the absence of Russian participation. Your colleagues from other sports powers realise that the value of their medals will be different, Putin told track and field stars such as Yelena Isinbayeva and Sergey Shubenkov. This victory will have a different taste - or no taste at all.And the Russian president added: The current situation does not only go beyond the legal sphere, it goes beyond common sense. We cannot accept indiscriminate disqualification of our athletes with absolutely clean doping histories. We cannot and will not accept what in fact is pure discrimination. Pole vaulting great Yelena Isinbayeva will have to sit out the Rio Olympics Putin was speaking after the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) had confirmed that the ban on the athletes would remain in place. The suspension was imposed in November due to systematic state-sponsored doping by Russia and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld that decision last week.Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko wrote to the IAAF on Monday in an attempt to get the ban overturned but was told there were no grounds for further review.Putin spoke to the Russian team on Wednesday, before they fly out on Thursday, and dozens of the track and field athletes who are not eligible to compete in the Rio Games also attended. Its obvious that the absence of Russian competitors, leaders in many disciplines, will lower the intensity of the fight and that means the spectacle at the upcoming events, said Putin.More than 100 Russian athletes - including all but one of the track and field team - will miss the Olympics but the country has avoided being totally excluded. Vladimir Putin delivers a speech during a meeting with Russian athletes at the Kremlin The International Olympic Committee (IOC) sparked fierce criticism on Sunday when it resisted a blanket ban in favour of allowing individual sports federations to make the call on which Russians can go to Rio.And Russias Olympic team could number more than 200 after fencing, triathlon and volleyball became the latest sports to declare the countrys athletes eligible to take part in the Games on Wednesday. Gicquel moves on to face sixth-seeded Jarkko Nieminen of Finland, who advanced with a 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) win against wild card Pierre-Hugues Herbert, despite the Frenchmans 23 aces.Paul Pogba seems set to return to Manchester United. But he is just one of many world stars who could have been playing at Arsenal... It has been another frustrating summer at Arsenal with a number of Arsene Wengers transfer targets already turning down moves to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners missed out on Leicester striker Jamie Vardy earlier in the window, while long-term reported target Gonzalo Higuain left Napoli for Juventus in a £75m deal. They are just the latest in a long line of players Arsenal have missed out on during Wengers tenure in north London, with the seemingly Manchester United-bound Paul Pogba, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on the star-studded list of names who got away. Here we take a look at the XI Wenger might have had… Joe Hart Wenger tracked Joe Hart while he was on loan at Birmingham Wenger was first drawn to Harts talents following a loan spell the goalkeeper had with Birmingham during the 2009/10 season. The Frenchman enquired about the England internationals availability but there was one slight problem, Harts parent club Manchester City.I remember when Hart played at Birmingham, I asked about him and they told me he is at Man City. I thought he would be the keeper there. He has something that is needed for a goalkeeper to play at a big club and I am not surprised he made it as No 1. - Wenger in 2011.Raphael Varane Raphael Varane was scouted by Arsenal while he was at Lens Varanes rise from Lens to Real Madrid has seen him make 93 appearances for the Spanish giants and win 29 caps for France. But Arsenal could have had the 23-year-old at their disposal had Wenger and his scouts acted faster when the player was plying his trade at Lens.Im happy for him because hes carving out a role at one of the worlds best clubs, which is remarkable. Yet at the same time, when you are in charge of a club like Arsenal, you have to wonder why this player is not playing for us. He was at Lens, and we might well have caught him there. - Wenger in 2013.Gerard Pique Arsenal were interested in Gerard Pique at the time they signed Cesc Fabregas In the summer of 2003, Arsenal signed a 16-year-old Cesc Fabregas from Barcelonas La Maisa academy, but it could have been even better for the Gunners.Pique, who starred in the same youth team as Fabregas, was also on Wengers radar but the Frenchman could not get the deal over the line.A year later the central defender joined Manchester United and spent four years at Old Trafford before moving back Barca. It was at a period where Fabregas came. We wanted to take Fabregas, Messi and Pique. It worked only for Fabregas. - Wenger in 2014.Vincent Kompany Vincent Kompany was chased by a host of Europes top clubs while he was at Anderlecht Before Manchester City signed the Belgium international in 2008, Kompany was one of the hottest prospects in European football.Wanted by Barcelona and Real Madrid as a 20-year-old at Anderlecht, Kompany was also identified by Wenger as a potential replacement for Sol Campbell. However, the Frenchman was beaten to his signature by Hamburg.I had meetings with Emilio Butragueno at Real Madrid, the club leaders at Barcelona and by Arsene Wenger himself at Arsenal. But heading to an absolute top club immediately was not the right solution because Vincent is someone who feels alone in an environment where he is not properly valued. Vincent is not a third or fourth choice. - Kompanys agent Jacques Lichtenstein in 2014.Gareth Bale The Gunners turned Gareth Bale down because they already had two left-backs on their books Arsenal were tracking Real Madrid forward Bale at Southampton alongside England star Theo Walcott.Walcott made the move to the Emirates Stadium in 2006 with Bale joining north London rivals Tottenham in 2007, and Wenger has since admitted he made a huge mistake in not signing the Welshman. We didnt take him as we had Ashley Cole and Gael Clichy and didnt want another left-back. I must confess it was a huge mistake as he can play in midfield. He struggled at the start at Tottenham, then they moved him to midfield and he has done exceptionally well. The career of a player sometimes depends on playing in the right position. - Wenger in 2013.Lionel Messi The Gunners tried to sign Lionel Messi alongside Pique and Fabregas As previously mentioned, Wenger tried to sign three players from Barcelonas academy in 2003 but the Frenchman could not prise Lionel Messi away from the Nou Camp.I think in the end he was not so keen to move. It was not completely down to a flat in the end, it was down to the fact that Messi was comfortable at Barcelona. - Wenger in 2014.Paul Pogba Arsenal were interested in Paul Pogba when he left Manchester United in 2012 There has been a massive scramble for Pogbas signature this summer and it looks like Manchester United are closing in on their man in what is expected to be a world-record transfer fee. However, Arsenal could have landed the France international when he was preparing to leave Manchester United in 2012, but the Gunners were too slow out of the blocks and Pogba moved to Juventus. Is Pogba still improving? Would Manchester United be getting the finished article in Paul Pogba? Things happened very quickly. We were interested in him. We tried to get him to come here. But he very quickly signed for Juventus. - Wenger in 2014Yaya Toure Yaya Toure featured for Arsenal in a pre-season friendly against Barnnet in 2003 Arsenal already had Yayas brother Kolo in their ranks and they were very close to adding the former after he had a trial with the club in 2003.dddddddddddd.However, the Gunners could not beat Metalurh Donetsk to the Manchester City midfielders signature because he did not have a passport.Wenger has since admitted it was a huge blow to miss out on the Ivory Coast international, who did wear an Arsenal shirt in a pre-season friendly against Barnet in 2003, but revealed it was beyond the clubs control.Lets not forget that Toure had an agreement with us - and its not because we did not want to sign him that he went to Ukraine. We have made mistakes, but he is not a mistake. - Wenger in 2014.Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United beat Arsenal in the race to sign Cristiano Ronaldo Another Ballon dOr winner that got away, Ronaldo had a tour of Arsenals training ground in 2003, where he was impressed by Wengers approach and what the club could offer him. However, Arsenal failed to get the deal done with Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz using his Portuguese influence to help lure Ronaldo to Old Trafford. My biggest regret, I was so close to signing Cristiano Ronaldo, and not only did I not get him he signed for Manchester United, so that of course still hurts today. - Wenger in 2014.Didier Drogba Didier Drogba scored 15 goals against Arsenal during his time at Chelsea Arsenal have suffered at the hands of Drogba over the years but it could have all been avoided for the small fee of £100,000.Wenger was well aware of the talents of Drogba, who has scored 16 goals against Arsenal during his career, through his time at La Mans but thought he was not ready for a move to the Premier League. We watched Drogba very carefully when he was at Le Mans and his value was just £100,000. But we felt at the time he might not be completely ready… Looking back now, of course it was a mistake. - Wenger in 2009.Luis Suarez Arsenal bid £40m and a pound in an attempt to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool in 2013 Described as the biggest mistake of Wengers managerial career by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, Arsenal missed out on Suarez after bidding one pound over his £40m release clause. The offer did not go down well with Liverpool and after speaking to club captain Steven Gerrard, Suarez, who was thought to be keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium, stayed at Anfield. He almost fired Liverpool to the title in the following season before moving to Barcelona for £75m. Highlights from the Avaya Stadium as Arsenal warmed up for the new Premier League season by beating the MLS All-Stars Im very happy with what I did. There again, the details will maybe come out one day - maybe not in my book, but somebody elses book! I know only one side of the story, but we always had fair relations with Liverpool, we kept in touch over that period. It was not meant to be provocative at all - it could be interpreted like that, but it was not our purpose. - Wenger in 2013.SubsZlatan Ibrahimovic Zlatan Ibrahimovic was offered a trial at Arsenal Ibrahimovic was a teenager when he met Wenger to talk through a potential move to Arsenal, but things did not quite go to plan as Wenger only offered the Swedish striker a trial. But Zlatan doesnt do trials...Arsene gave me the famous red and white jersey - the No 9 shirt with Ibrahimovic on it and I was so pleased I even posed for a picture wearing it. It was a fantastic moment for me. So then I waited for him to convince me that I should join Arsenal. But he didnt even try. He never actually made me a serious offer, it was more, I want to see how good you are, what kind of player you are. Have a trial. I couldnt believe it. I was like, No way, Zlatan doesnt do auditions. - Ibrahimovic in 2012.Ronaldinho Ronaldinho played with Lionel Messi at Barcelona Arsenal were working on a deal to bring the Brazilian star from Gremio to north London in 2001.With the deal to bring the two-time World Player of the Year to the Premier League almost done, work permit issues scuppered the transfer and left Wenger bemoaning the rules. We could have got Ronaldinho before he went to PSG. I met his brother, who is his agent, a long, long time before he went to PSG - when he was 20 - but we just could not get him to England because of the rules here. - Wenger in 2007.Dimitri Payet Wenger decided against signing Dimitri Payet The West Ham forward took the Premier League by storm last season, scoring nine goals and laying on 12 assists. He continued his excellent form at Euro 2016, scoring three goals as France went all the way to the final. And his form was no surprise to Wenger, who admitted watching him many times when he was at St Etinne before deciding against signing him.He was a top talent, always. But [he] had periods of being up and down. Ive looked at him many times. Ive known him for a long time. He played at Saint-Etienne and we watched him many times. - Wenger in 2016. MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Dante Cunningham was arrested early Thursday on allegations of domestic assault and was being held without bail pending charges while his team left for a two-game road trip in Florida. Cunningham was booked into Hennepin County Jail just after 6 a.m., according to police records. The woman involved in the incident at Cunninghams suburban Minneapolis home did not require medical treatment, police said. The Timberwolves issued a statement saying they were aware of Cunninghams arrest and were in the process of gathering more information. "The Minnesota Timberwolves organization takes the matter very seriously and does not condone the type of behaviour that is associated with this situation," the statement read. "However, we need to let the legal process run its course, and will have further comment at the appropriate time." The team left for Miami on Thursday afternoon. The Wolves play the Heat on Friday and the Orlando Magic on Saturday before returning home. The 26-year-old Cunningham has been one of coach Rick Adelmans most trusted bench players over the last two years and is the primary backup to Kevin Love at power forward. He has played centre in smaller lineups and has been able to guard almost every position besides point guard for a defensively challenged team. In his fifth year in the league, Cunningham is averaging 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds this season. He is set to become a free agent on July 1 after completing the final year of his contract that pays him $2.1 million this season. Cunninghams arrest further depletes an already thin frontcourt for the Wolves. Center Nikola Pekovic has been bothered for the entire second half of the season by a sore right ankle while Ronny Turiaf just returned from a bruised right knee that caused him to miss 19 games. In an unrelated move, the Timberwolves waived veteran point guard A.J. Price on Thursday. Price played sparingly in 28 games for the Wolves this season, averaging 1.6 points. He had been unavailable recently after having an emergency appendectomy. Before Price was waived, the Wolves had the maximum 15 players on their roster, meaning they could not bring another player in. Cutting Price gives the team the flexibility to add a player, but Price was informed of the decision on Wednesday night after the Timberwolves defeated the Memphis Grizzlies and hours before Cunningham was arrested. Keith Magnuson Jersey . Terry came from Boston along with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce but has appeared in just 35 games after a knee injury, averaging 4.5 points on 36 per cent shooting. Evans was a favourite of fans but not coach Jason Kidd, who used him in just 30 of their 51 games. The Mariners ace allowed just one hit over eight innings while striking out nine, and Robinson Cano backed him with a two-run homer as Seattle earned a 3-0 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Sunday. Duncan Keith Jersey . -- First baseman Carlos Pena and outfielder Brennan Boesch have signed minor league deals with the Los Angeles Angels.CLEVELAND -- Browns starting Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron will not play in the home opener against New Orleans because of an injured right shoulder. The Browns will also be missing starting linebacker Barkevious Mingo, who missed practice this week with a shoulder injury. Cameron, who caught 80 passes for 917 yards and seven touchdowns last season, hurt his shoulder during training camp and then re-injured last week after making a 47-yard recepttion against Pittsburgh.dddddddddddd Cameron did not practice this week. Jabaal Sheard will start in place of Mingo, a first-round draft pick in 2013. As expected, Browns running back Ben Tate is out with a sprained knee. Rookie Terrance West will start in his place. West rushed for 100 yards last week. The only notable lineup change for the Saints is fullback Austin Johnson starting for Erik Lorig, who has an ankle injury. RENTON, Wash. - Where others saw discord and dissention, and another Super Bowl champion headed down the path of an early end to their season, Pete Carroll saw a challenge.A challenge not much different from what Seattle went through on its way to the title a season ago. Call it the Seahawks version of the Super Bowl hangover.Theres an obvious effect because youre unique in what youve done, and we addressed it from the first meeting we got back here and ... we figured it out; it just took us a long time, Carroll said. It just took us longer than we would like, but the thing that happened this year just happened in different order than it did last year. After starting the season 3-3, the Seahawks closed with a six-game win streak to finish 12-4 and earn home-field advantage through the playoffs. The Seahawks will host either Detroit, Arizona or Carolina in the divisional round next Saturday. It was a stunning turnaround, considering Seattles pedestrian start to the season and the surprise October trade of Percy Harvin to the New York Jets.I hate to keep going back to last year, but we did win the Super Bowl last year. And through that process at the end of the season when you go through the parade and get the ceremony and get the ring, it makes you forget how hard it was to get to that point, to reach the mountaintop, Seattle wide receiver Doug Baldwin said. I think a lot of that pressure we had at the beginning of the season when we were 3-3 — from the media, from ourselves — we kind of let that feed into the negativity and forgetting that it wasnt easy last year.Seattle has already bucked the recent trend as the first Super Bowl champion to reach the post-season since Green Bay won the NFC North in 2011. That was the first layer of history the Seahawks had to overcome. Now is the chance to be the first team since New England in 2004 to repeat. When I went into this year with the thought that this is a very unique chance at showing that you can handle all of that, Carroll said. Its been difficult for people, and the history of it shows you that its hard to come back and get yourself back into this kind of position again. But being a Super Bowl winner has not equated to post-season success recently for those that have gotten back to the playoffs. The last defending champion to win a post-season game was New England in 2005. The Patriots beat Jacksonville in the wild-card round before being ousted by Denver in the divisional round. Since the Patriots win in 2005, four other defending champions have reached the playoffs. Three were division champions — Indianapolis in 2007; the Giants in 2008; Green Bay in 2011 — who were knocked off at home in the divisional round. New Orleans was a wild-card team in 2010 and lost at Seattle.Thats the next piece of history for the Seahawks to try to overcome. Many have pointed to the trade of Harvin as the turning point for Seattles season. The deal went down on a Friday as the team was leaving for St. Louis, and the Seahawks struggled in the first half of their 28-26 loss to the Rams. In-season trades in the NFL are scarce enough. Even rarer is an elite team giving away a key player rather than acquiring a need.Only four trades were made in-season in 2014, including Harvin being sent to the Jets. New England made a pair of deals, getting linebackers Jonathan Casillas from Tampa Bay and Akeem Ayers from Tennessee. St. Louis acquired safety Mark Barron from Tampa Bay.The only other team in the last three seasons to trade away a starter in-season and make the playoffs the same year was Philadelphia. It sent defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga to New England in late October 2013.It would be far too simplistic to say Seattles turnaround was tied solely to the Harvin trade, but it did refocus the team offensively. Through the first five games with Harvin on the roster, Seattle averaged 28.2 carries and 149.8 yards rushing per game. In the 11 games after the trade, with the Seahawks relying more on the running of Marshawn Lynch, they averaged 34.9 carries and 183 yards rushing. Not surprisingly, the Seahawks went 9-2.I think we returned to the strength of knowing our guys, how to use them, and how to implement their strengths, Carroll said. We always talk about unique qualities that players have, and we may have lost connection with some of that.___Online:AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Devante Smith-Pelly Jersey . The Sioux Falls Canaries scored two in the seventh and three more in the eighth to come back from a 3-0 deficit and defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes 5-3 in front of 6,769 at Shaw Park on Sunday afternoon. John Carlson Jersey . In fact, with a few improvements, this could very well be a decent team over the next few seasons. I will go into more detail when digging into the Canucks Off-Season Game Plan, which will be coming earlier this year since they are part of the non-playoff contingent, there are some reasons to think this is a favourable situation for President of Hockey Operations Trevor Linden and whomever he selects to be the new general manager. http://www.authentichockeyshopcapitals.c...apitals-jersey/. Jones, from Winnipeg, built a 3-0 advantage after three ends by scoring two in the second and one in the third. Chinas skip Bingyu Wang cut that lead to 3-1 in the fourth before Canada added another three in the fifth for a 6-1 lead. Tortorella told The Vancouver Province hell be cheering for Team Sweden to win gold when they take on the defending Olympic champions on Sunday morning. "I hope Sweden wins, cause I dont think Hammer (Dan Hamhuis) is going to play, judging by whats happened.ATLANTA - Playing in the NFLs only division with no losing records, the Pittsburgh Steelers added another win to their resume. The Atlanta Falcons lost again, but still have a shot in the leagues only division with no winning teams.Ben Roethlisberger threw for 360 yards, LeVeon Bell ran for two touchdowns and the Steelers beat the Falcons 27-20 on Sunday.William Gay returned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown for the Steelers (9-5), who remained a half-game behind Cincinnati in the AFC North. The Falcons (5-9) fell out of a first-place tie in the NFC South but would win the division by beating New Orleans and Carolina the next two weeks. For the Steelers, who lost to the lowly Jets and Buccaneers earlier this season, this ranked as a quality win. This was a big win against a division leader, Gay said. Thats something that you try to get in December football.Bell was limited to 47 yards rushing on 20 carries by an Atlanta defence that focused on stopping the run. They did a good job of neutralizing our running game, although we were able to run it in crucial moments, short yardage and goal line, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. The Falcons have a must-win game next week at New Orleans. That is the situation that we are in, Atlanta cornerback Robert McClain said. Obviously, a win today would have put us in better shape but ... we have to get a win next week.Bell had five catches for 72 yards but was denied in his bid to become the first NFL player with 200 total yards in four straight games. It was tough sledding running the ball but that opened up other things, Bell said. They had a lot of guys up front, a lot of guys in the box.Bells second touchdown run, a 13-yarder early in the fourth quarter, gave Pittsburgh a 27-13 lead. The Falcons answered with Matt Ryans 4-yard scoring pass to Roddy White but couldnt prevent the Steelers from running the final 4:34 off the clock. Pittsburgh converted twice on thiird down, the clincher coming on Roethlisbergers 25-yard pass to Heath Miller on third-and-1 from the Atlanta 39.ddddddddddddAnytime you can finish the game with the ball in your hands and not let the other offence get on the field, thats the ideal situation, Miller said. Here are some things to know after the Steelers improved to 5-3 on the road and the Falcons fell to 3-4 at home:RING THE BELL: Bells breakout performance has paid off with the Steelers record for most total yards in a season.Bell passed Barry Fosters mark of 2,034 yards from scrimmage in 1992. He began the day with 1,924 yards. He added 119 yards to lift his season total to 2,043.Bell also set the team record for yards receiving by a Pittsburgh running back. He has 765 for the season. Ray Matthews had the old record with 762 in 1955.REWRITING THE RECORDS: Roethlisberger has 4,415 yards passing, surpassing his previous franchise record of 4,328 in 2009. Antonio Brown had 10 receptions for 123 yards, giving him a franchise-record 115 catches for the year. Hines Ward had 112 receptions in 2002.NO JULIO: Ryan completed 26 of 37 passes for 310 yards, even though he didnt have his top receiver. Julio Jones, who began the day on top of the NFL in yards receiving, was held out with a hip injury.INJURIES: Steelers safety Mike Mitchell returned after leaving with a groin injury. Tomlin said the other injuries were only bumps and bruises. Falcons cornerback Josh Wilson was escorted to the locker room with a hand injury.ROAD-FIELD ADVANTAGE: Steelers fans made up perhaps half of the crowd of 71,161. They showed up early and were waving their yellow towels before kickoff.I love and appreciate the support we get from our fans when were on the road, Tomlin said. Were used to seeing it, but it never gets old.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL___Follow Charles Odum on Twitter at www.twitter.com/CharlesOdum White NFL Jerseys Cheap Youth NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys 2020 Stitched NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Autographed Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Discount Jerseys ' ' '

ROME -- Real Madrid castoff Jose Maria Callejon scored in the first half and Belgium international Dries Mertens added a late goal as Napoli handed Serie A leader Juventus only its second loss of the season with a 2-0 victory Sunday. Still, Juventus has an 11-point lead over second-place Roma and is 17 points ahead of Napoli with seven rounds remaining. In the 37th minute at the San Paolo stadium, Callejon beat Juve midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah to redirect a cross from Lorenzo Insigne from the edge of the box for his 12th goal since transferring from Madrid in the off-season. Mertens sealed the result after collecting a long pass from Goran Pandev in the 81st and muscling off Claudio Marchisio before beating goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon with a long bouncing shot. Napoli is still hoping to edge Roma for second place and gain the last direct Champions League berth. "This is a very important win, because it keeps us close to Roma," Insigne said. "Were going to fight until the end." Juventus, which was without suspended Serie A scoring leader Carlos Tevez, struggled to create chances. The Turin powers only other loss was a 4-2 defeat at Fiorentina in October. Earlier, Mattia Destros early goal was key and Roma was fortunate when a penalty kick for relegation-threatened Sassuolo was waved off in a 2-0 win. Roma faces Parma on Wednesday in the resumption of a match from February that was stopped after eight minutes due to a waterlogged pitch. "No other squads will be playing," Roma coach Rudi Garcia said. "Weve got to take advantage of that." Elsewhere Sunday, fourth-place Fiorentina was held to a 0-0 draw at Sampdoria. Fiorentina winger Juan Vargas banged a free kick off the corner of the goal frame in the 78th and Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was sent off for protesting in the final minutes, grabbing an officials arm as he walked off the pitch. Parma remained one point behind Inter Milan in the race for fifth and the final Europa League berth after a 3-2 loss at Lazio. Antonio Candreva scored the winner for Lazio in added time of a match marked by poor defending on both sides. After Lazios Senad Lulic and Parmas Jonathan Biabiany traded goals in the first half, Miroslav Klose restored Lazios lead in the 67th and then Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti let the ball trickle in between his legs in the 81st for an own goal. Luca Toni scored twice after Marco Donadels opener in Hellas Veronas 3-0 win over Genoa and Alessio Cerci set up one goal for Omar El Kaddouri and scored another in Torinos 2-1 win over Cagliari. In Naples, only Buffon kept the hosts from scoring early on. Buffon stopped a close-range attempt from Callejon seven minutes in, Hamsik had a goal annulled for offside seconds later and Buffon tipped an attempt from Hamsik over the bar in the 10th. Buffon also blocked a powerful effort from Callejon in the 29th then stopped a dangerous free kick from Algeria fullback Faouzi Ghoulam in the 58th. Napoli was helped by vocal crowd support. "As always, the fans gave us a big hand," Insigne said. In Reggio Emilia, Destro had an easy time finding the target from the centre of the area in the 16th after getting set up by Belgium midfielder Radja Nainggolan, who stripped the ball from a defender just outside the area. Competing for a spot on Italys World Cup squad, it was the fourth consecutive match in which Destro scored, and it was his 10th goal since beginning his injury-delayed season in December. Sassuolo thought it had a chance to equalize in the 35th when referee Nicola Rizzoli -- Italys World Cup representative -- appeared to change his mind several times before denying the hosts a penalty for minor contact between Roma defender Mehdi Benatia and Nicola Sansone. Roma substitute Michel Bastos sealed the victory with a goal six minutes into added time after getting set up by Romas 37-year-old captain Francesco Totti, who replaced Destro in the 79th. Playing its first season in the top division, Sassuolo remained one point above last-place Catania, which visits Udinese on Monday. Matt Cullen Wild Jersey .
