Flowers opened his career at left tackle and struggled for most of his first three seasons. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is planning to fight a pair of lawsuits filed against him stemming from an incident at a Florida apartment complex last spring.Ophir Sternberg is seeking damages against Brown Jerome Bettis Jersey , claiming that objects thrown by Brown from the 14th floor of an apartment building came close to striking Sternberg's father and Sternberg's 22-month-old son in April. The lawsuit claims Sternberg's son was "extremely traumatized" by the event.A second lawsuit filed by the owner of the apartment building is seeking more than $15,000 in damages from Brown.Brown told police that the incidents occurred after a gun and $80,000 were stolen from the apartment. Brown said in a statement on Thursday the lawsuits contained "false claims" against him."The facts will soon come out that prove my innocence James Conner Jersey ," Brown said. The latest is celebrity chef Stefano Tedeschi — known as “The Sports Chef” — filing a lawsuit against Brown for a $38,000 unpaid bill for his services according to an ESPN report. The suit was filed on July 30 in Osceola (Florida) County court, so it’s hard to say why it wasn’t revealed until now.Tedeschi claims he has prepared food for several NFL players including Larry Fitzgerald, Drew Brees and Jameis Winston Antonio Brown Jersey White , among others.Brown tweeted out a message this morning, shortly after the report surfaced. Hard to say whether it has anything to do with the report, but it’s interesting considering the timing and the message.Follow @LeviDamien After JuJu Smith-Schuster defended Ben Roethlisberger‘s leadership last week, Antonio Brown responded with a message about his former teammate.“Do not listen to any NFL player who haven’t got paid yet! they going to get paid even if it’s compromising integrity or anything ! sad but true,” Brown wrote on social media.Smith-Schuster Bo Jackson Jersey White , though, said the receivers do not have a beef.“That’s my guy,” Smith-Schuster said, via TMZ Sports. “[Everything’s good between us] always. There’s no bad blood.”After the Steelers traded Brown to Oakland, Smith-Schuster offered praise for Roethlisberger https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-carr-jersey , writing on social media: “I was so blessed to enter the league and play with a Hall of Fame QB as a 20-year old. Ben has taught me so much, he’s a true Leader and I can’t wait to rock with my guy this season.”It appeared to set off Brown, but Smith-Schuster maintains that he and Brown are good.
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning recently reunited Von Miller Jersey White , more than three years after Manning won the last installment of their rivalry. Since then, we’ve been waiting for another rivalry of that type to emerge. It hasn’t. And perhaps it never will. The planets lined up perfectly for Brady and Manning to develop a relationship that resulted in 17 contests in the 15 years that their careers overlapped. Both played for teams that dominated their divisions, ensuring that they’d play each other virtually every season. By making it to the playoffs so consistently, they also increased the chances of crossing paths in the postseason.Other quarterbacks will have a hard time doing that. It’s a given that they need to be roughly the same age. If they’re in the same division, however, the quarterback rivalry easily will take a back seat to the broader rivalry between the teams. Also, they become less likely to meet in the postseason, where quarterbacks rivalries take on greater significance. But whether it’s Russell Wilson vs. Cam Newton (which briefly seemed like it could become the new Brady-Manning a few years ago) or Patrick Mahomes vs. Baker Mayfield or Mahomes vs. Deshaun Watson or Watson vs. Mayfield, their teams need to dominate in their divisions the way that Brady’s Patriots and Manning’s Colts/Broncos did.Currently, that’s going to be hard to do. There are simply too many good teams in both conferences, and Brady continues to be the only guy with a clear chance to continue to win his division every year. And it’s clear that, with Manning gone, Brady has no real rival. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes finally gets to face a team in an environment that’s familiar to him.The Chiefs‘ hotshot quarterback takes his record-setting show to Denver on Monday night to face the Broncos, the team he made his debut against in Week 17 last season. But whereas that game was mostly meaningless, with Kansas City assured of its playoff positioning and the Broncos’ season over, the trip back holds plenty of significance for both clubs. The Chiefs are 3-0 with two of those victories coming on the road, where their second-year star has been downright dynamite. The Broncos (2-1) are just a game back in the AFC West.“I mean, every game I go in I know that the defense is going to have some surprise they’re going to try to throw at us Royce Freeman Jersey ,” Mahomes said. “I know that defenses in this league are good and that defensive coordinators are going try to find ways to distract us and keep us from doing what we do.“But I know that if we run the game plan the right way and I get the ball out of my hands and to those guys,” he said, “there is a chance for success.”Especially if there’s a team he’s seen before. Then again, maybe it’s not such an advantage for Mahomes that he’s seen Denver already. The Chargers, Steelers and 49ers went into their games against Kansas City largely blind, unsure of what the strong-armed passer could do. The Broncos saw it firsthand last year, when the Chiefs rested their starters in their regular-season finale and Mahomes led a come-from-behind win.“He’s playing well. He’s got a bunch of weapons, and again, they have a good scheme also,” Denver coach Vance Joseph said.“You combine a quarterback’s arm talent with the skilled players he’s throwing to and with Andy Reid’s system, it makes it a tough out.”More broadly, the Chiefs have been an impossible out for the Broncos lately. They have won five straight in the series, including two in Denver and a Christmas Day rout in Kansas City.“They’ve got an explosive offense right now and their defense is making plays, too. For us, we’ve just got to go out there and play our game,” Broncos defensive tackle Shelby Harris said.“Last week is last week, I’m not really worried about that anymore,” he added. “Go out there and just focus on just doing what we have to do: sticking to our keys and making plays.”Indeed, the Broncos are coming off a road flop in Baltimore in which they blew a 14-10 halftime lead. And now the task is a Chiefs team that has scored at least 38 points in each of its games John Elway Jersey , with a quarterback in Mahomes who has an NFL-record 13 touchdown passes in the first three weeks.“They’re averaging almost 400 yards a game and almost 40 points,” Joseph said. “The quarterback is playing at a high level. He’s got multiple weapons. Along with Reid’s system, it’s going to be difficult for us to get them stopped.“We’re looking forward to the challenge, but being a six-point underdog, I’m not surprised. They’ve won the last three times in Denver. They’ve beaten the Broncos five straight times. I’m not surprised they’re favored. That means nothing.”As the Broncos try to end their streak of futility, here are some things to know:FAST STARTSThe Chiefs have scored on their first possession in every game this season, and they led San Francisco 35-7 late in the first half a week ago. Those quick starts stand in contrast to the Broncos, who have trailed entering the fourth quarter in each of their games.THE CASE FOR CASEThe Broncos gave Case Keenum a two-year, $36 million contract to play at the same level as he did last year in Minnesota. But so far Keenum is faring no better than Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler or Paxton Lynch. He’s completing just 61 percent of his passes with three TDs and five interceptions, including three in a Week 1 win over Seattle.TRACKING TRAVISChiefs tight end Travis Kelce is coming off back-to-back 100-yard receiving games, and he’s been good against Denver in the past. s or more have come against the Broncos.MEDICAL REPORTBroncos cornerback Tramaine Brock should be available after leaving last week’s game against Baltimore with a groin injury. His running mate, Adam Jones, was also expected to practice this week after being inactive for the Ravens with a thigh injury. Both would come in handy against Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins and the rest of the Chiefs’ receiving group.WHAT A RUSHThe Chiefs had four sacks last week against San Francisco, more than double their total the first two weeks combined. But there’s a good chance they’ll be without pass rusher Dee Ford, who left last week with a groin injury, leaving it to Justin Houston to pick up the slack.
As a tackle for the Giants Dwayne Haskins Jersey , Ereck Flowers was a big bust, a ninth overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft who was cut in 2018. Now he’s getting a chance to play guard in Washington, and he may prove that with a position change he can become an NFL starter.Washington assistant head coach Bill Callahan currently has Flowers penciled in as a starter.“Oh, yeah, I think so,” Callahan said when asked if he plans to open training camp with Flowers as the starting left guard, via the .Callahan said tackles who move to guard can have great success with some time to adjust.“I see a lot of potential when we’ve moved tackles inside,” he said. “I think it gives us size, it gives us power. I think those are really good traits for the running attack and pass protection.”It’s safe to say Flowers’ days as an NFL tackle are done, but as a guard Flowers will get a chance to show the Giants they gave up on him too soon. The free-spending Buffalo Bills are using their sizeable salary-cap space to provide quarterback Josh Allen an overhauled offense entering his second season. The Bills continued their major foray into free agency on Tuesday by agreeing to sign receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley and offensive linemen Ty Nsekhe and Jon Feliciano.A person with direct knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press that Brown agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract. A second person told the AP that Beasley agreed to a four-year, $29 million contract. A third person said Feliciano agreed to a two-year contract. The people spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity because the signings won't be official until the NFL's new year begins Wednesday.Nsekhe's agent Wes Martin Jersey , Vince Taylor, said his client agreed to a two-year, $14.5 million contract, with $7.7 million guaranteed. The deals come a day after the Bills agreed to sign center Mitch Morse, running back Frank Gore and tight end Tyler Kroft. Buffalo confirmed Tuesday that it signed cornerback Kevin Johnson to a one-year contract. The Bills' main focus has been addressing needs on offense to upgrade a unit that finished 30th in yards gained during Allen's rookie season and was hampered by a lack of established receivers and a patchwork offensive line.Buffalo entered the signing period with more than $70 million available to spend under the salary cap after spending the previous two offseasons purging its roster of high-priced players. The overhaul coincided with coach Sean McDermott's hiring in January 2017 and was followed by general manager Brandon Beane taking over five months later.Beane has taken a bold approach in rebuilding the Bills by spending the past two years trading away veterans — including defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, offensive tackle Cordy Glenn and quarterback Tyrod Taylor — and stockpiling draft picks. After a 6-10 finish, Beane in January said he intended to be "judicious" in filling holes in free agency, while continuing to add talent in the draft next month, when the Bills are scheduled to have 10 picks.Johnson, speaking on a conference call with reporters Tuesday, was impressed by the new additions."I think you can see this is a team on the rise," he said. "We're just trying to add to this culture Womens Bryce Love Jersey , and they've got a good one in place. And like I am, I'm sure the other guys are ready to come in here and work."Brown is a speedy downfield threat, and Beasley is a proven underneath slot receiver. They join a team whose two top returning receivers were Zay Jones, entering his third year, and Robert Foster, an undrafted rookie last season.Brown had 42 catches for 715 yards and five touchdowns last year in his only season with the run-oriented Baltimore Ravens. The Bills targeted Brown in free agency a year ago, but he turned them down in part because Buffalo was unsettled at quarterback after trading away Taylor and before drafting Allen in the first round.Brown spent his first four seasons with Arizona, where he combined for 173 catches for 2,515 yards and 17 touchdowns. His best season was in 2015, when he had 65 catches for 1,003 yards and seven TDs.Beasley spent his first seven seasons with Dallas and had a 65 catches for 672 yards and three touchdowns last year. Beasley's most productive season was in 2016, when he had 75 catches for 833 yards and five touchdowns.Running back LeSean McCoy took notice of the offensive line additions by posting a note on his Twitter account that read: "It's always good signing fat boys hahahahah welcome welcome."Morse is listed at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-terry-mclaurin-jersey , the 33-year-old Nsekhe is listed at 6-8 and 330 pounds, and Feliciano is 6-4 and 325 pounds. Nsekhe has five NFL seasons of experience dating to 2012 with the then-St. Louis Rams. He spent the past four seasons with Washington, where he had 16 starts in 54 games playing behind tackles while also getting playing time at guard.Feliciano spent his first four seasons with Oakland, where he had eight starts in 48 career games. The Raiders selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 draft.Johnson joins a defense that allowed the second-fewest yards last season and will compete for the starting job opposite Tre'Davious White. Johnson's first four seasons in Houston were hampered by a series of injuries, including a pair of concussions that forced him to miss the final 15 games of last season."All that stuff's behind me," he said. "I think I learned that I don't got any quit in me. I went through a lot of things, adversity as far as dealing with injuries. And every time, I came back strong from it."Johnson is reunited with Bills defensive backs coach John Butler, who held the same role in Houston from 2014-17.

Pavely-USA TODAY SportsWhile many NFL football fans cling to those immediate draft grades and consider their contents gospel, it seems rather ridiculous when these ‘experts’ grade a selection who has yet to step foot onto an NFL field. With that said, it doesn’t seem as ridiculous to go back and look at the 2016 NFL Draft to see just how these players, who are nearing the end of their rookie contracts, have done throughout their first few seasons in the NFL.Dane Brugler of The Athletic, decided to go back and not only grade the classes, but give the best player James Conner Jersey White , best value, etc. According to Brugler:So, what did he think about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2016 NFL Draft class? Let’s take a look!Pittsburgh SteelersGrade: C1 (25) Artie Burns, CB, Miami (Fla.)2 (58) Sean Davis, SS, Maryland3 (89) Javon Hargrave, DT, South Carolina State4 (123) Jerald Hawkins Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , OT, LSU6 (220) Travis Feeney, LB, Washington (Free Agent)7 (229) Demarcus Ayers, WR, Houston (Free Agent)7 (246) Tyler Matakevich, LB, TempleBest player: Javon HargraveA two-time Defensive Player of the Year in the MEAC, Hargrave had a strong pre-draft process Jerome Bettis Jersey , catapulting him into the top-100 conversation. That positive momentum carried over to his NFL career where he has been a three-year starter and important piece of the Pittsburgh front.Best value: Tyler MatakevichSpecial teams might not be sexy but it keeps some players on NFL rosters, and Matakevich is a prime example. Over the past three seasons, his 29 tackles on special teams rank second-best in the NFL. Considering his impact, Hargrave is arguably the better value, but let’s give some love to the special teamers.Biggest miss: Artie BurnsThe Steelers were reportedly set to draft William Jackson at No. 25 before the Bengals pulled the rug out from underneath them and drafted the former Houston corner at No. 24. Desperate for cornerback help, Pittsburgh drafted Burns, who has shown flashes of first-round talent but very little consistency, taking a step back in Year 3 last season. It is difficult to disagree with the above assessment of the team’s 2016 draft class, but Brugler went a step further and spoke to Steelers’ beat writer for The Athletic James Conner Jersey , Mark Kaboly, to get his insider view on the draft class. Here is what he had to say:Is Kaboly right? Has this class been a total disappointment? Hargrave is coming off a season where he had 6.5 sacks in a part-time role, but at a time when fans thought they had three starting defenders in the first three rounds of the draft, this class certainly lacks the luster fans expected immediately after the draft process concluded. What do you think of the 2016 class? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below! Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier will remain under contract for another year as he continues to recover from the severe spinal injury he suffered late in the 2017 season.Shazier’s salary in 2018 was guaranteed for injury, so there was never any risk that he would lose pay last year, but the Steelers announced today that he will remain under contract this year as well. he’s not ready for that and he will go on the Physically Unable to Perform list. The Steelers’ announcement said Shazier will be paid a salary, accrue another season toward his pension, and will continue to get the health insurance that all active NFL players receive.鈥淲e will continue to support Ryan鈥檚 efforts to return to play https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-terrell-edmunds-jersey ,鈥?said General Manager Kevin Colbert. 鈥淎lthough he won鈥檛 be able to help us on the field in 2019, his leadership, insight, and emotional support have always been very valuable to us, and we look forward to his contributions in our pursuit of a championship.鈥漈he Steelers chose Shazier in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft and he played four years in Pittsburgh before the serious injury he suffered on December 4, 2017.

The Warriors will try to sweep the series tonight on the road against the Blazers, whose superstar point guard Damian Lillard is playing through a serious rib injury. So far the Blazers haven’t been able to handle Golden State’s tenacious D or their double team traps on Lillard, and their own defense has collapsed in the face of a relentless offensive assault from the Warriors. Golden State has been down big at the half of each of the last two games, only to come back and win both. Can Portland prolong their suffering tonight, or will the Warriors put them away once and for all? Find out on ESPN at 6 PM Pacific. Marshawn Lynch and Bruce Irvin helped win a Super Bowl in Seattle before becoming stalwarts in Oakland.Sebastian Janikowski rewrote the record book for the Raiders before booming long kicks for the Seahawks.Seattle defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. and Oakland offensive line coach Tom Cable spent the past few seasons doing the same job with the other team. When the Seahawks and Raiders kick off in London on Sunday, it will be a reunion of sorts — even though the game will be played several thousand miles from home.“I’ve always enjoyed the most playing against the people I like the most. There’s guys on the club, coaches and all kinds of connections,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “There’s just connections across the board. It just makes it fun. If you’re competitive and you like competing against the best and your friends. I do. I just look forward to it.”Both teams have more pressing issues than seeing old friends. The Seahawks (2-3) are already three games back in the NFC West and the Raiders (1-4) have struggled all season in the first year in Jon Gruden’s second stint as coach.“I just don’t like to lose,” Gruden said. “I think we have work to do. I’m depressed. I’m tired. I want to win. I want to do better.”Here are some other things to watch:BEAST MODEThe Seahawks will finally get a chance to tackle Lynch, who starred for the team from 2010-15 and helped Seattle win a Super Bowl. Lynch was mostly off-limits at practice, although linebacker Bobby Wagner recalls getting scolded by Lynch for hitting him as a rookie and dislocating Lynch’s finger while trying to punch the ball out. There will be no limits on contact Sunday.“Never got the chance to tackle Marshawn Womens Derek Carr Jersey ,” Wagner said. “Talked a lot of trash. We finally get to go against each other. So it’s going to be fun.”RUNNING AWAYAny question about Seattle’s commitment to the run has been answered by the productivity of the last three weeks. The Seahawks have seen a running back rush for 100 yards in three straight games for the first time since late in the 2012 season. Chris Carson had 100-yard games against Dallas and Los Angeles, and Mike Davis had 101 yards against Arizona. Most impressive was the 190 yards rushing against the Rams, when Seattle averaged 5.9 yards per carry. Even more shocking, the Seahawks got those yards on the ground without a single yard coming from quarterback Russell Wilson. For the first time in his career, Wilson didn’t have an official run play against the Rams.“We made a big turn. It’s taken us longer than I would’ve wanted to get to this point, but we feel like we can play the game that we want to play and the style we want to play it regardless of where we’re going,” Carroll said. “We’ll find out, let’s go see if we can take it across the ocean and do it as well, but that’s really important to us.”WEST COAST GOING EASTThe matchup between the Seahawks and Raiders is just the second in London between teams from the Pacific time zone. The Rams and Cardinals played last year in an NFC West game, with Los Angeles rolling to a 33-0 win. Take away that Los Angeles-Arizona matchup a year ago and teams from the Pacific area playing in London are 2-3 all-time. Both wins belong to San Francisco, beating Denver in 2010 and Jacksonville in 2013.Both teams opted to spend part of the week at home, with the Seahawks leaving Wednesday and the Raiders on Thursday.TARGETINGDoug Baldwin caught a dump-off pass from Wilson for a 1-yard gain on Seattle’s second offensive play against the Rams. It was the only target and only catch for Seattle’s leading receiver in each of the past four seasons. Baldwin has been bothered by issues with both knees early in the schedule. He missed most of training camp because of an unspecified issue with his left knee Womens Antonio Brown Jersey , then suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee in the season opener against Denver. Baldwin has just six catches for 42 yards and no TDs in the three games he’s played.“It’s frustrating because I want to be more a part of it. I want to be part of the party, too,” Baldwin said.FREQUENT VISITORFew players or coaches have been part of more games in London than Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson. He will coach his seventh game there, having gone 3-3 on previous trips with Tampa Bay (2009, ’11), Oakland (2014), Jacksonville (2015, ’16) and the Rams (2017).“He leads the league in London trips, so he’s going to be my tour guide,” said Gruden, who added he doesn’t believe he’ll have much time for sightseeing.
Broncos cornerback Chris Harris‘ representatives have been talking to the team about a new deal https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-phillip-lindsay-jersey , but it remains unclear whether they’ll be able to bridge the gap in a way that results in a new deal for the veteran corner. Some believe that the issue has been exacerbated by the arrival of Kareem Jackson as a free agent this offseason. Jackson is a year older than Harris and hasn’t made All-Pro or Pro Bowl teams like Harris has over the course of his career, but the Broncos signed him to a three-year deal with an $11 million annual salary while Harris is set to play out his deal.On Thursday, Jackson said he doesn’t think he’s in “the middle” of Harris’ dispute with the team and wants to be playing alongside Harris in the secondary.“At the end of the day, it’s a business,” Jackson said, via KUSA. “Obviously, he wants to get paid to have some type of stability so he can take care of himself and his family. The rest of the guys, we just have to work accordingly. If he’ll be here, we’d definitely love him to be here. But we understand it’s a business and sometimes things happen that we all may not want to happen.”While Harris would likely be pushing for a new market whether Denver signed Jackson or not, the sting of not having a new deal may be a little worse given the one they handed someone else in March. So that is how the Denver Broncos 2019 season ended. Not with a “bang” or a “pow,” but with a whimper in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs at home. For my regular readers, let me extend some apologies for the lack of my normal game review this week.Frankly, I was appalled by what I witnessed on Thursday night, and I honestly don’t care to revisit the game in any serious depth.Instead, I’m going to pan the camera back a bit and talk big picture with Broncos Country. How bad is this loss? How bad is this team honestly? What are the real problems plaguing the Denver Broncos and keeping them from being relevant?I’ve always been a fan first in my writing and that won’t really change moving forward Phillip Lindsay Jersey White , but I feel like I’m waking up to reality...and it is a cold, ugly place. How bad was this loss? For most NFL teams, a loss like this even taking us to 2-5 wouldn’t be a big deal. It is just one game after all. There’s a lot of football left to be played. Just shake it off and move on to next week. But the Broncos aren’t a normal NFL team. This loss was the end of the 2019 season. It will likely spell the end of Emmanuel Sanders and possibly Chris Harris, Jr and Derek Wolfe in Denver (that is if John Elway is going to start doing the right thing at any point this season). The Broncos aren’t a playoff team. They don’t have an answer at QB (unless you like having a QB like Flacco that just mails it in instead of trying to win a game - like we saw Thursday night). How bad is this team honestly?I don’t think either side of the ball is that far off from being competitive honestly. I do think Denver has some holes on both sides, though, and they will need a solid offseason to plug them.On defense, the Broncos lack answers at cornerback in a really bad way. That will get worse in the offseason as CHJ takes his leave (because I think he’s got maybe a 5 percent chance at best of re-signing here). They are going to need some depth at DL and hopefully upgrades or depth at ILB. If you are keeping score at home, that means we are pretty set in my mind at the OLB and safety positions and at least have starting quality players across the defensive line and at ILB (thank you Mike Purcell and Alexander Johnson). On offense, the Broncos have some very real holes on the offensive line at both tackle positions (until Ja’Waun James proves he can handle it and stay healthy) and at right guard.I’d add that I’m not in love with Connor McGovern at center. He may be better kicked out as a guard. The other very VERY big problem for the Broncos is that they have no answer at QB.Joe Flacco has been promising this season, but in a game that the Broncos needed to win in order to have a serious shot at doing something this season, his game shrank tenfold as the threw opportunities away, failed to try to adjust the offense to slow down the blitz, and ran himself into sack after sack. Add to that that the Denver Broncos have no serious idea how good or bad Drew Lock is and you have about the equivalent situation that the Broncos have been in for the past two years at the QB position.Until an answer is found at QB, the offense is going to be a weakness for this team.So what is the real problem? The real problem for the Denver Broncos is that Joe Ellis and John Elway are pretenders trumpeting the “Bowlen Standard” but not actually living up to it.I was as excited as anyone about John Elway getting involved with the team when he did. I loved him hiring John Fox, finding a way out from under Tim Tebow Womens Phillip Lindsay Jersey , getting Peyton Manning to sign with us, and forging a defense for the ages to take us back to the Promised Land in Super Bowl 50.But that was a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. And this team has been swirling into the toilet over the past few years at an alarming rate. Was it the weaknesses at QB? Was it the changes at coaching? Has the team just lacked players who can live up to the NFL standard?Yes to all of that. And yes to trying constantly to make early-round draft picks turn into NFL players when they are not (Shane Ray, Ty Sambrailo, Paxton Lynch, Adam Gotsis, Garett Bolles, Brendan Langley, and Isaac Yiadom come to mind). By the way, if your GM is making players play regardless of how bad they are in the coach’s mind, that’s a big problem. What I’m getting at is that this team is a mess and the guy calling the shots for it is John Elway. If you want an answer at what is going wrong, I think it starts and ends with the VP/GM of the Denver Broncos. I was never a fan of a coach (Mike Shanahan) meddling too much in the GM arena, and I’m of the same mind about a GM meddling too much in the coaching arena. Why did I even mention Joe Ellis?Because he’s the only guy that can do anything to hold John Elway accountable for the past three years, and he’s not doing it. From the outside John Elway Jersey White , it looks like Ellis is quite content to let Elway run this team into the gutter while they both get paid handsomely for quipping about the “Broncos Standard.”The Cure to What Ails This TeamThe Broncos used to have a soul. Sadly, it died on June 13 of this year. More than anything, this team needs a legitimate owner (because, no, the trust is not that at all ... it is a far cry from it). One of the most maddening things to see both last year and this year is a player at LT who is not up to par starting week after week with no accountability to his poor performance. He just gets to clock in, use the same broken technique play after play, hold and cost this team drive after drive, and not have to answer for any it.Well, that’s the same situation you have at the very top of the Denver Broncos organization. Joe and John have gotten the Broncos to the point they are now and they get to keep coming to work week after week, year after year while this team and its fans are starving for winning football, not having to answer for any of it. a hearty congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs and their fan base. That was a hell of a job playing NFL football away from home. Your team prepared to play football, your coaches came up with some superb ways to ensure victory, and your team outplayed ours in every facet of the game from start to finish.I look forward to one day being able to say the same about the Denver Broncos.

He reached this mark by capping off his time in college with a 2.5 sack effort against the University of Hawaii in the 2018 Hawaii Bowl. This was good enough for him to pass the previous collegiate leader https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-terry-mclaurin-jersey , former Arizona State alumnus Terrell Suggs, who had a total of 44 sacks. Before he was terrorizing quarterbacks at the FBS level, Jaylon was considered a three-star recruit coming out of West Feliciana High School in Saint Francisville, Louisiana. He decided to stay in-state and accepted an opportunity to play for Head Coach Skip Holtz at Louisiana Tech University. Aside from racking up more sacks than anyone else in college history, he also brought home many other accolades during his time with the Bulldogs, including All-Conference USA (all four years on campus) and AP All-American (2018).Jaylon received an offer to play in this years Senior Bowl and played well during the game, but he did not do much to separate himself from the other edge defenders in Mobile in the week leading up to the game. Due to a simple battery misdemeanor charge over four years ago, the NFL did not allow Jaylon to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine. While many scouts do not believe that this infraction will have a negative effect on his draft stock, he was not able to compete against other members of this draft class in Indianapolis. Instead, Ferguson had to wait until Louisiana Tech’s pro day to show off his athletic ability. The word coming out of Ruston, Louisiana is that Ferguson did not have a very good day. He showed average numbers for his position (4.75 40 time Montez Sweat Jersey , 24 reps on the bench and a vertical of only 32 inches) and most rumored that he looked stiff for a pro athlete.StrengthsHeavy handed; has very active and violent pawsDoes an excellent job of converting speed to power Plays with good instincts and clearly knows how to get to the quarterbackDoes well in being able to get off of blocksHas the functional strength to set the edgeWeaknessesDoes not have great bend for an edge defender and often looks stiffCan be late getting out of his stance and can get too upright He appears to be just an average athleteNeeds to add more counter moves for the pro levelPlayed against subpar talent in Conference-USALet’s See His WorkHow He Would Fit The RedskinsThe fact that the Redskins will be looking to add a talented edge defender in the draft may be one of the league’s worst kept secrets. The team allowed Preston Smith to walk in free-agency, which has created a void across from Ryan Kerrigan. The Skins currently employ Ryan Anderson (a second round bust to this point) and Cassanova McKinzy at the position, but neither are starting material and probably shouldn’t be counted on for larger roles. So with a clear need, will the Redskins target Ferguson with one of their second day picks? Even though he has enormous upside and a knack for reaching the quarterback, many scouts have him pegged as strictly a 4-3 defensive end. With his limited athleticism, he may not be a fit as a 3-4 outside linebacker. a good portion of games we should be seeking a prospect who can stay on the field as much as possible. If he can’t be counted on to drop into coverage (regardless of what his trainers think in the above clip) when we need him to, he would become just a mere role player for us. While Preston in no way exceled in coverage, he could get the job done more times than not. This squad has a history of taking 4-3 defensive ends and turning them (attempting too, anyways) into 3-4 linebackers, but I am not sure that this a trend that should continue. Not with all of the edge talent that fits our scheme in this deep defensive draft. Will Bruce and company see it that way next week?Stay tuned Skins fans.
Pittsburgh’s effort to concoct a strategy for tagging and trading running back Le'Veon Bell is a luxury that the Steelers can’t presently afford. Because they currently have a pot boiling far more violently than the elixir of loose ends relating to Le’Veon Bell.As noted by Dan Katz a/k/a Big Cat during Friday’s Womens James Conner Jersey , the Steelers should be far more concerned about resolving the situation with receiver Antonio Brown. Bell won’t be playing for the Steelers again; Brown still could. That’s where the team’s focus currently should be.Not that there will be an easy solution. Brown wants out, and the Steelers should welcome him back only if he will commit to ending a chronic habit of tardiness and defiance. So how can they crack down on a guy who doesn’t want to be there?Maybe the passage of time will help. Maybe it won’t. Regardless T. J. Watt Jersey White , the time they’re wasting on coming up with a scheme for finagling a draft pick for Le’Veon Bell is time they could be investing in devising the best strategy for moving forward with Brown, either with Brown as a member of the team or with Brown traded to the highest bidder. Steelers owner Art Rooney II has twice cast doubt on wide receiver Antonio Brown‘s return to the team for the 2019 season without ever expressly ruling it out.One of Brown’s offensive teammates is not giving up hope that they’ll be sharing a huddle again next season. Center Maurkice Pouncey said from the Pro Bowl that “a great phone conversation or a sitdown” could lead to a resolution that leaves all parties feeling good about continuing the relationship. He believes the same thing is true of Brown and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Terrell Edmunds Jersey White , who reportedly had a disagreement that led Brown to walk out of a practice and get benched for Week 17.“ there’s a reason it’s being brought up so much Womens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey ,” Pouncey said, via ESPN.com. “Rightfully so. I agree everyone has opinions and everybody can talk about things. But I honestly think Womens T. J. Watt Jersey , and I’ve been playing football a long time, things will get worked out. They are the best duo in Steeler history. If you don’t want to talk to two Hall of Famers who have played with each other and did so much together JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey White , I just don’t understand what team is anymore.”Rooney said that Brown has not had contact with the team since the end of the season and that would obviously be a necessary step toward any reconciliation.

ENGLEWOOD Dalton Risner Jersey , Colo. (AP) — Joe Flacco still has it.The 34-year-old quarterback showed off his strong right arm Tuesday as the Denver Broncos kicked off their three-day minicamp , throwing frozen ropes over the middle and deep passes down the sideline.“He looks like a Super Bowl MVP to me,” Von Miller said. “Today he had a play-action, rolled out to the right and threw the ball from the opposite 20 to the opposite 15. Now, I don’t know how far that is.”Sixty-five yards — and just out of wide receiver Brendan Langley’s reach.“He threw the ball far,” Miller said. “He can throw 80 yards, easy.”Another time, Flacco hit rookie tight end Noah Fant in stride for a 50-yard gain.Asked afterward how far he can still throw it, Flacco said, “I have no idea. I hope I don’t have to throw the ball too, too far. You want to get the ball out and throw it in rhythm. So, hopefully, 50 yards downfield and you won’t push it down much further than that.“But I would think that the air up here, you actually can get a few more yards further. I mean, I have no idea how far I can throw a ball up here. I haven’t really tried and I don’t really plan on going out there and trying to do it.”Well, he did it once.Back in the playoffs in 2012, he hit Jacoby Jones with a 70-yard touchdown throw in the final minute of regulation that sparked Baltimore’s stunning double-overtime win over Peyton Manning and the Broncos.“That gets pumped up,” Flacco said. “If you go back and look at that throw, it was only like 50 yards. It could have been more. Jacoby didn’t think the ball was coming to him. I was getting ready to wind up and fire it. Next thing you know I had to kind of take some off. I don’t think I threw the ball that far there. But, whatever you want to say, it sounds good.”What the Broncos want to get out of their three-day minicamp that caps their offseason program is confidence that Flacco can hit his targets all over the field, short, medium and long. The Broncos’ hopes of ending a three-year playoff drought rest on Flacco being the steady veteran they thought he was when they traded for him this offseason and not having to rush rookie Drew Lock.So far, coach Vic Fangio likes what he sees in Flacco.“He still has a big arm, the ball still comes out of his hand with a lot of liveliness to it,” Fangio said. “It’s a very catchable ball. I think the guys like playing with him. I’ve been happy with Joe.”Of course Womens Noah Fant Jersey , Flacco flashed Tuesday during 7-on-7 drills and without the likes of Joey Bosa or Chris Jones bearing down on him. But his passing prowess is a welcome change after the Broncos quartet of Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch and Case Keenum over the last three seasons. The key come September is keeping Flacco upright, and that’s why the Broncos are excited about the changes they’ve made up front, drafting LG Dalton Risner, signing RT Ja’Wuan James and hiring O-line coach Mike Munchak, who will try to fix LT Garett Bolles. When Manning visited the Broncos practice last week he mentioned how having Fangio as his defensive coordinator early in his career in Indianapolis made him a better quarterback because Fangio tried to win every practice.“There’s no doubt, you can see it, man,” Flacco said, suggesting Fangio still has a bit of that defensive coordinator in him as he transitions into being a head coach for the first time.“I think it’s a good thing. It creates that competition every day in practice,” Flacco said.Flacco said he was a bit awed by Manning’s visit.“I don’t really know Peyton that well. So, it’s still cool for me,” Flacco said. “He’s still a guy that I grew up watching play. Now, I’m on the same football field as him. So, I really don’t lose sight of that. Shoot, it’s Peyton Manning, I’m still watching him do Nationwide commercials, just like (everyone else). So, anytime I get a chance to talk with him it’s pretty neat.”Some of Flacco’s teammates have said similar things about how they grew up watching him, especially members of his exceptionally young receiving corps. Not that it makes Flacco feel old.“I forget. I think I’m 23, too,” Flacco said. “And it really does happen. I’ll be sitting in there and we’ll be shooting the breeze in the cafeteria or locker room or whatever and you really do forget, oh my God, these guys are 10 years younger than I am, at least some of them. It doesn’t really dawn on me. I really don’t see it that way. Everybody wants to talk about age. But in this sport it really doesn’t matter that much. It’s just about going out there and performing.” The Broncos aren’t ready to make a quarterback change Womens Dre'Mont Jones Jersey , primarily because they don’t think they have an option that’s ready. As tempting (and easy) as it would be to move on from Joe Flacco after a 2-5 start, there are a few practical realities preventing them from doing so.Second-round pick Drew Lock is expected to start practicing again soon, in hopes of returning from the broken thumb that landed him on injured reserve. But they haven’t started the clock on him yet, perhaps because the boss isn’t sure he’s prepared to play anytime soon.Via Nicki Jhabvala of TheAthletic.com, Broncos General Manager John Elway said during an interview on KOA that he’s still thinking about the future of Lock.“I will say this: The most important thing for a young quarterback is not to put him out there before he’s ready,” Elway said. “So that is the most important thing and if he’s not ready, we’re not going to put him out there. That is the key thing. And as you know dealing with quarterbacks, it’s a very tough thing because if you don’t put him in a situation where he has a chance to be successful and he’s not successful, the whole roof will cave in. So we have to make sure that Drew is ready when he does get in there, if he does get in there.“We’re still in the process of evaluating that. He is not ready to go right now, I will tell you that.”Elway recalled his own experience, in which he was benched during his fifth game in 1983, only to get the job back four games later because of injury.“Really the four games I was benched, I learned a hell of a lot more than in the four games I played just because it’s such a big step,” Elway said. “me a second chance that year, so I was able to come back and had a different viewpoint of it after I sat for those four games.“So I think that’s why with young quarterbacks, it’s always good for them to see what it’s all about and the step that it takes instead of throwing them right into the fire, because very few of these guys have a lot of success early. They’re going to take their lumps. As I did and as most quarterbacks do, they’re going to take their lumps, and they have to be able to withstand that, and they got to be able to withstand the negative stuff that’s going to come with the part that he continues to get better.”Of course, the atmosphere Elway created (they’re 2-5 and their best wide receiver just asked to be traded and was) is the negative one that might stunt Lock’s growth, which might make it best for Lock to wait.

I have gotten into so many debates with posters over the years stating that the old ground-and-pound mentality would only get you so far in today’s NFL, and that you absolutely NEED a franchise-type quarterback, legit wide receivers and an explosive, complete running back to keep defenses honest and put of yards and points.Fans have argued against this; sometimes even getting rather miffed by the idea that offense wins championships in the NFL. Well, last year, with our first and only season(or I guess I should say half-season) of Alex Smith under center, we saw a true ball-controlled offense focused on running the football and not turning the ball over, with solid defense played behind that. The result - an early 6-3 record, and a NFC East division lead....then things fell apart....but, there is more to this story. Some of the most ardent supporters on Hogs Haven of developing a solid run game, and ball controlled offense, with an solid defense behind that sort of flipped. And why was that?Didn’t the fans finally get what they wanted(even though it was only for half of the season)?Apparently not!Take a look at some of these comments below from our readers when it came to talking about Alex Smith and the early 2018 offense(these are just some recent one’s I’ve pulled - trust me when I say there were MANY more):We had a running gamePeterson and the defense won those games. Smith gets credit for not turning the ball over. That’s what he did to help us to 6-3, but when we faced high scoring offenses like New Orleans, Colts, and Atlanta you saw that Smith couldn’t keep up. He can’t compete with QBs like Luck, Brees, and Ryan. He’s not in that category and never will be. And Smith takes so many sacks and holds the ball too long because he can’t read a blitz. It’s simple.Posted by handyman434 on May 10, 2019 | 3:36 PM up replyrec (3)flag We were at 6-3 in spite of Smith. His main contribution was not making too many mistakes. They let the running game work and leaned on the defense. If either the defense or running game had a bad day, we lost.Posted by BillZBubb on May 10, 2019 | 4:39 PM up replyrec (6)flag Hummm... High scoring offenses, and “not being able to keep up”.“If either the defense or running game had a bad day, we lost”.So let’s examine this a bit further:There were 8 team in the NFL who had over 6000 total yards of offense in 2018. 8 TEAMS! Baltimore had 5999, so we can essentially say 9 teams!Guess what dominated the stat sheet for all 8 of those teams - Yep...passing yards. All but one of those team’s passing yards more than doubled their rushing total. And the lone team to not do so, the Saints, were just 8 passing yards off that mark. Want to know something else? 5 of those 8 teams made the playoffs(the Ravens did too and they were just one yard away from 6000), 4 of them were represented in their conference championships, and the two teams who went to the Super Bowl, the Rams and Patriots, were ranked second and fifth respectively in total yards. Looking again at those 8 teams who totaled over 6000 yards of offense, only 2(Falcons and Bucs)had losing records. No team in 2018, who had less than 5500 total yards of offense and did not have their passing yards more than double their rushing yards had a winning record. Actually, no team who finished with less than 5500 total yards of offense had a winning record in 2018. Going back to championships, over the last three seasons, the teams who won the Super Bowl all were in the top 7 in the league in total offense, and none had less than 5850 total yards that season. Only the 2017 Eagles, who went on a magical and unconventional playoff run with Nick Foles at quarterback Womens Dwayne Haskins Jersey , didn’t more than double their running output in passing yards. No team who has won the Super Bowl in the last five years has had less than 5600 total yards of offense, and only the previously mentioned 2017 Eagles didn’t double their rushing yards by air yards accumulated. This offensive output is not a NEW trend; it’s been this way for a while now. Simply put - teams who can move the football, and do so effectively have a greater chance of making the playoffs, winning their conference and bringing home a championship verses those who choose to play more conservative with a ground-and-pound, ball controlled approach and solid defense behind that. Now, before I let you have fun with this debate, let me just say this - defense is VERY important. You are not going to win consistently without a good defense. However, this debate, if you choose to participate, is more about having an explosive offense. So, for all these years, and for all those people who begged for the Redskins to get back to that old-school ground-and-pound approach, with a HEAVY dose of the running game, and an offense that limited turnovers...Why were you so down on what a healthy Alex Smith brought to this team over the first half of 2018?Is it because what you may have THOUGHT you wanted really wasn’t going to cut it against some of the NFL’s best?Have fun, and debate your asses off! Monday that the Raiders brought Richie Incognito in for a workout but it remains to be seen if he will sign on. Gruden said the plan is to add competition to the position and let the best man win. Cotton will join the battle for left guard plays out this spring and summer. Despite Kolton Miller‘s struggles last season, Jon Gruden still believes in his left tackle. In fact Derek Carr Jersey White , he believes in Miller so much that the Raiders coach made a big prediction.“at left tackle in football,” Gruden said, via Scott Bair of NBCSportsBayArea.com. “He’s not only healthy, he’s in great shape. He’s gotten a lot stronger. He’s added some weight, some muscle. And he’s still a real flexible athlete that can run and change direction and being in the second year in the system we expect a lot of good things.”Miller, the 15th overall pick in 2018, allowed an NFL-high 16 sacks and a league-worse 65 pressures, per Bair. Miller dealt with multiple knee sprains but refused to blame injuries for the rough start to his NFL career. But Miller added that being healthy this season “will help tremendously.”Miller, who now weighs 328 after weighing 310 at the 2018 Combine, will stay at left tackle with free agent signee Trent Brown moving to right tackle.“It felt good staying left [tackle],” Miller said. “But, of course, I’m a team player. The oft-rumored pick for the Broncos will be visiting Dove Valley."According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis Royce Freeman Jersey , the Denver Broncos will have former Missouri quarterback Drew Lock in for a pre-draft visit/workout.Lock has long been rumored to be the apple of John Elway’s eye and mocked to the Broncos consistently throughout the draft process. So it is not surprising to see Lock make a pre-draft visit/workout along with Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins. One or both could be there at 10th overall and the Broncos are still searching for their “quarterback of the future” so it makes sense that they are doing their due diligence on both. Lock played four seasons at Missouri and was a four-year starter for them during his college career there and he improved each and every season while there. During his four-year career at Missouri, Lock totaled 12,193 yards passing, 99 touchdowns and 39 interceptions. He completed 56.9% of his passes and also rushed for 437 career yards and total 9 career rushing touchdowns. This past season for Missouri, Lock totaled 3,498 yards passing, 28 touchdowns, 8 interceptions and completed 62.9% of his passes. A pretty solid senior season for the potential first-round pick.Whether or not the Broncos go quarterback at 10th overall remains to be seen but Lock certainly is in play if he’s available for them. This pre-draft visit/workout could help sway them one way or another as well so we shall wait and see there. Standouts from the defensive secondary from the Broncos training camp practice at Broncos Stadium at Mile High." Denver Broncos Training CampBroncos training camp observations: A look at the secondaryNew,16commentsStandouts from the defensive secondary from the Broncos training camp practice at Broncos Stadium at Mile High. MDTAs fans poured into Broncos Stadium at Mile High John Elway Jersey , the realization set in that Bradley Roby and Joe Woods are no longer here and it is the dawning of a new day for the Denver Broncos secondary.Players noticed the opportunity they have in front of them, with spots opening up and Vic Fangio’s defense taking on a new look from the one Vance Joseph had. When I went out to Broncos Stadium at Mile High on Saturday, I tried to notice what players were taking full advantage of that opportunity, with stars like Bryce Callahan sitting out and allowing other guys to step up.The first number to stand out at practice was 25. None other than Chris Harris Jr. The absence of Emmanuel Sanders was immediately obvious, as Sanders is the only Broncos receiver that gives Harris Jr. any sort of trouble outside of Courtland Sutton’s jump balls. Harris Jr. showed maximum effort, even on a deep post to Sutton. It seems without the effort given by Harris Jr. the Broncos secondary would be torched. Harris Jr. is willing to trade big penalties for touchdowns, making it clear he would rather set up again and prevent other teams from getting in the end zone, even if it means lining up on the goal line. The Broncos’ corners close quickly. It’s obvious there is an emphasis on providing help both in the run game and quick-pass game. Isaac Yiadom is a name that took advantage of Bryce Callahan sitting out after having his foot stepped on, and it was clear Yiadom is not afraid to play off in coverage. Yiadom trusts his speed and ability to close on receivers Womens Joe Flacco Jersey , lining six to seven yards off at some points.I also saw Will Parks getting some reps as an emergency punt returner, along with Devontae Booker. The work he was getting was on the side, and Brendan Langley and Nick Williams were getting the full-team reps, but it could be a sign that the punt return team is still being tinkered with.Su’a Cravens is a big fan of contact. He is noticeably improved at reading opposing playmakers’ body language to determine when to lay the boom. Cravens will need to continue to flash big-play ability, and possibly force some turnovers in the preseason, if he is going to make this Broncos team.Dymonte Thomas is often in the right position. On a particular play, Thomas was clearly letting the fans celebrate a catch over the middle and putting on a show. If it were a real game, Courtland Sutton might not have been able to get up after the hit Thomas spared him from receiving. The Broncos are still vulnerable in the middle of the field. Josey Jewell can be a liability at times, and Broncos Country will be frustrated all year with leaks in the middle. The veteran Flacco picked apart Denver’s Cover-2 coverage to finish practice Joe Flacco Jersey White , and Drew Lock looked extremely decisive with his throws.Shamarko Thomas is not only willing to help in the run game, he was simply lock-down on the outside during goal-line situations. The Broncos should often have the one-on-one advantage in jam coverage, and I expect Thomas to read the play well and make some game-changing plays on Sundays for Denver.Linden Stephens was stuck with the impossible task of covering the 6-foot-4 Courtland Sutton on the goal line. Sutton is not afraid of sticking his shoulder down and running over a defender, and Stephens stood tall as Denver set up a goal line screen for Sutton, a play Broncos fans can look forward to after having success with it when Demaryius Thomas or Brandon Marshall were catching that pass.
Count me as someone who is officially off the Quarterback-in-the-first-round train.First Dwayne Haskins Jersey , I do not want to see the Redskins spend valuable resources to trade up in the 2019 NFL Draft for a signal caller. The Skins are already going to be tight against the salary cap for 2019 due to the Alex Smith contract. They can create some room by obvious cuts and re-structures, but that money will be needed to fill in gaps in free agency. Aside from that, the team will need all the draft picks they have to fill in with young, inexpensive talent. Second, I’m not really sold on many of the projected first round quarterbacks in the 2019 NFL draft. The guy I like most is Drew Lock, but there is a very good chance he’ll be long gone by pick 15. Dwayne Haskins, who has a boat-load of potential, SHOULD be the first quarterback off the board, but even he is not a plug-and-play guy. Daniel Jones is way too inconsistent for me at number 15, and I in no way, shape or form want any part of the 5’9” 185 pound Kyler Murray. For me, that leaves the Redskins with a few options. We can sign a cheaper veteran free agent signal caller on a one year deal to compete with Colt McCoy for the starting position in 2019, and look at the 2020 NFL Draft to select our future franchise quarterback. The other option; and this is the one that intrigues me the most Dwayne Haskins Redskins Jersey , is to draft a “developmental” quarterback with one of our third round picks (assuming we get a compensatory third rounder). My target in the third round?... Jarrett Stidham! To me, the 6’3” 215 pound Stidham was grossly under-used at Auburn. He also didn’t have the best playmakers surrounding him on offense. This contributed to the junior having a sub-par statistical 2018 season for the Tigers. In 2017, Stidham completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 3158 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. On almost the same number of passing attempts in 2018, Jarrett saw his completion percentage drop to 60.7 percent, while throwing for 2794 yards and 18 touchdowns against five interceptions. He has never been one to throw a lot of interceptions, but the drops in efficiency and yardage were a concern for a quarterback who was supposed to take that next step. Some of these concerns are valid, but when I studied his tape, I saw a lot of things that really stood out to me - and I developed my man-crush.When I evaluate a quarterback, I look primarily at three things: Accuracy, arm strength and ability to improvise either in or outside the pocket.Below are some clips that highlight these areas of Stidham’s game.Accuracy:To me, accuracy is the most important attribute a quarterback can have. The ability to throw an accurate, catchable ball in the NFL is what seperates the good ones from the average ones.Below you see Stidham set his feet in the pocket, recognize one-on-one coverage on the outside https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-dwayne-haskins-jersey , and deliver a perfect ball in the endzone. In this clip, you see the motion to help recognize what coverage the defense is in, and the perfect ball placement in the Tennessee secondary that allows his receiver to run after the catch. Arm strength:Arm strength is an attribute a successful NFL quarterback can’t be without. As is different from college, the ability to drive the ball downfield into tight windows is crucial at the professional level. If you don’t have the ability to stretch the field vertically, defenses won’t respect your offense.Below you see an example of how the football just jumps off Stidham’s hand with ease. The ball placement here is excellent too. The throw below is the definition of arm strength. Not only does this illustrate Stidham’s ability to go through his high-low progressions, it also shows off his accuracy and arm talent. Ability to improvise:Ability to improvise when the protection breaks down is a trait all the great quarterbacks seem to have. We saw Patrick Mahomes do this numerous times this past season. In the NFL, you are not going to have a perfect pocket every time, so this ability has to be present in your quarterback. If that player is a statue back there, or tends to panic under duress, bad things will happen. Below, you see an example of this ability to make plays happen under pressure from Stidham. Two things impress me here; first, the escape-ability to elude the rush, and roll to his left. Notice after the spin how his head immediately goes back to his progressions. Second is the 35 yard dart he throws without even having his feet set Womens Dwayne Haskins Jersey , and the accuracy of the pass. All three of the attributes I mentioned above are on display in this one play! After studying a lot of tape on Jarrett Stidham, I believe he’s a great fit for the Redskins somewhere in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has all the intangibles of a future franchise quarterback in this league. He just needs some fine-tuning to his game to bring everything together. If the Redskins were fortunate enough to be able to land Stidham in round three, there should be no pressure for him to start immediately. He could sit and learn behind a veteran like Colt McCoy, and possibly even have Alex Smith around to mentor him as he learns what it takes to be a professional in this league. in this draft, and I think he’d be an amazing fit here for us in D.C. Washington running back Derrius Guice was expected to be a big part of the offense after he was chosen in the second round of last year’s draft, but he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason. Now the team is pointing to training camp for Guice’s return.Head coach Jay Gruden said today that Guice has made good progress, and having him ready to play is more about getting him in the right shape than about healing his torn ACL.“Derrius is coming along very well. We’re just trying to make sure that leg — his quad and everything — is full strength before we let him go. That will probably be another thing we’ll wait for training camp as well,” Gruden said.Washington may have a crowded backfield with Adrian Peterson returning after leading the team in rushing last year, Guice back on track, Samaje Perine and Chris Thompson both expected to have a role, and fourth-round rookie Bryce Love recovering from a torn ACL of his own.
With the 2018 season over in disappointment Jerome Bettis Jersey , the Steelers are sitting at home and are left to wonder what could have been. With an epic second half of the season collapse, the Steelers missed the playoffs and the drama that has pervaded throughout the locker room has been nothing short of toxic. It very well may cause them to move on from key elements of their super bowl hopes, and with it, this team fades further from their goal of a super bowl. With Ben Roethlisberger nearing the end of his career, how can they maximize their window? Here it is, a full offseason plan. Re-signing PhaseThere are lots of tough decisions here of who to let go and who to actually keep, so this was probably my toughest section to do, honestly.RB Le’Veon BellI just don’t know how you can bring him back at this point unless it is on some type of super discounted deal. Bell will test the market and get paid far outside of what the Steelers would want to pay him overall. He is as good as gone.OG Ramon FosterIf he can be got at a reasonable price, I still believe Foster is more than worth it to bring back. Foster is one of the better guards in the NFL and still keeps the core in tact together. His locker room presence alone is a big reason to keep him around.OL Matt FeilerFeiler was a rock star as he filled in for Marcus GIlbert and likely earned a multi-year extension by doing so. He can play inside or at RT, but regardless, he is incredibly valuable as depth. OL BJ FinneyFinney is the heir to the Ramon Foster throne, and if he does happen to leave, Finney would be a fantastic replacement. He is straight up solid and would start for most teams in this league. Re-sign, obviously. LS Kameron CanadayCanaday was solid, and his name was never said, bring him back. DL L.T. WaltonWalton didn’t get a hat for most of the season, and it is really murky as to what his role on this team is at this point. When he did play, he did nothing of note, so there is little to no incentive to bring him back. ILB L.J. FortFort was a key cog on the defense this year and deserves a multi-year extension. So, he should be extended, as he proved to be the best ILB on this team as the season progressed. With Fort giving the Steelers more security in the middle of the field, it should be a premium to keep him.DL Tyson AlualuThe Steelers will need defensive lineman depth James Conner Jersey , and will likely have to address it through the draft, but Alualu is a great depth piece and spot starter. This is a pretty easy bring back. P Jordan BerryHe is extremely mediocre, but got better towards the end of the year. Bring in competition and let him compete. OLB Anthony ChickilloIncredibly meh and nothing special, but the Steelers are so needy at OLB depth wise that Chickillo almost has to be brought back. I wouldn’t bring him back otherwise, but it is certainly somewhat essential to bring him back.CB Coty SensabaughSensabaugh was a fantastic fill-in after the woes of CB2 in the early season with the collapse of Artie Burns, and he should be brought back as a fantastic depth piece. Sensabaugh graded out incredibly well for PFF, and is a valuable piece to have there. S Nat BerheHe is coming off of a torn pectoral and is nothing more than a special teams guy, there is no reason to bring him back here. TE Xavier GrimbleA solid 3rd TE who needs to learn how to carry a football, but regardless, he is a really, really good blocker and that is extremely desirable as a third TE.TE Jesse JamesThe obvious answer to bring back the Outlaw. He is the peak of solid and can catch and block extremely well. The question is did he price himself out of Pittsburgh? I would bring him back at the right price, but I am not overpaying.CB Mike HiltonHilton is probably priority #1 in the offseason. With this team being bare at CB outside of him and Joe Haden, Hilton getting an extension is a natural step. He didn’t have a great end to the season, but he has more than earned that extension. WR Justin HunterComing off of a season-ending injury and I just do not see the reason to bring him back. He is mediocre at best and this is a deep WR draft. He can be replaced. WR Eli RogersRogers was fantastic in the limited games he played this year, and the Steelers, if they have the opportunity, should keep him in Pittsburgh as well. He adds another weapon to the dynamic offense and really opened up the playbook.OLB Keion AdamsAdams is still developing and a solid depth guy, he should be brought back to see what he can be in Year 3.RB Stevan RidleyFumbleitis alert, Ridley is nothing special and honestly was meh most of the year. If it was up to me, he wouldn’t be back.ILB Ryan ShazierNo idea here. But his locker room presence and positive influence is enough for me. Bring him back.WR Derrius Heyward-BeyGreat veteran presence, but honestly, kinda useless otherwise. He was not even that good of a gunner this year. I would let him walk https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-terrell-edmunds-jersey , but if he wants to be a coach, he can come right on aboard. Other Contracts and MovesSean DavisDavis has straight up earned this extension, man. He had a few lackadaisical plays, but with another offseason at single-high under his belt, I anticipate that Davis will begin to really come into his own and become even more of a contributor, especially with ball skills starting to show up more. Javon HargraveHargrave finally broke out this year and when he saw snaps, he made more than the most of them. Hargrave is naturally a 4-3 3 technique, but he has embraced his role and has begun to get 5 technique reps and has wrecked the line with them. He is integral on the line and is a great player to have going forward. Get him an extension.Morgan Burnett and Jon BosticThese two guys were brought in but, honestly, as the rest of the plan unfolds, they just do not have a place on the team. Releasing them would give us some much needed cap space, and thus, they are natural moves.Ben RoethlisbergerNegotiations are already underway with Big Ben to come back for beyond 2019, and we will take that into account as well. Roethlisberger’s extension would free up some more cap space as well.Trade Antonio BrownI can’t believe I have to type this out, but we have to do this. So, the Steelers trade him to the 49ers for the 49ers’ 2nd, 4th, and a future 4th. This is a realistic looking deal, as there is no way the 2nd overall is actually in play, but in a deep class, this is a super nice haul.Bud DupreeRescind the 5th year option and re-negotiate to a cheaper deal. Free AgencyThe Steelers, facing a closing window Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , should theoretically take a bit more of a proactive approach here in free agency, just for logic sake.Sign ILB Jordan HicksYou wanted a big play, well, here it is. Hicks has unfortunately dealt with some injuries, but he is an elite talent at ILB and likely won’t command all that much because of his injuries. Hicks is that low key type of signing the Steelers will make. This has high upside and low risk, so it is a natural fit.Sign IDL Henry AndersonThe Jets did not use Anderson all that much this season, but he logged an impressive 48 pressures out of that defense. He is an underrated player and will not command all that much money and can be an excellent player on that interior line, and it frees up a draft pick, too.Sign CB Pierre DesirDesir broke out finally in 2018 and was used heavily in the cover 2 and press man heavy scheme of Indianapolis, which meshes about as well as you could wish for it to do in Pittsburgh. This is a fantastic signing either as a starter or a great depth piece.Sign RB Mike DavisThis move is so underappreciated, but just go check out a short highlight film of Davis’ from this season and you will see an underrated back who can be an excellent rotational piece and do it all. Davis is a huge upgrade from Ridley and creates a great trio of RBs. The DraftA whole 7-Round mock draft that is streamlined with the AB picks. Let’s go.Round 1: CB Byron Murphy, WashingtonThe Steelers get a scheme versatile player and probably the best CB in the draft. Murphy, Desir, and Hilton create a great trio of future CBs after Joe Haden is gone, but for now, they are a lethal core of CBs that any team would die to have. Murphy has physicality and ball skills, and likely starts from Day 1.Round 2 (SF): WR Deebo Samuel, South CarolinaThe best player in Mobile becomes a Steeler. Samuel has legitimate pro bowl potential and would take all the pressure you could ever want off of JuJu Smith-Schuster. As a dynamic receiver, Samuel would be a big play machine. And this is highly beneficial to James Washington.Round 2: EDGE Christian Miller, AlabamaThe Steelers can focus on getting a pass rusher and dealing with some depth there with ILB more shored up than before. Miller has an incredible ceiling but is still polished enough to start from Day 1. He likely won’t, but by midseason, Bud Dupree should see the bench.Round 3: ILB Terrill Hanks Womens James Conner Jersey , New Mexico StateVince Williams is great, but his deal is not too friendly and he likely will be a cap causality shortly. L.J. Fort is already 29 and could be on the decline anytime for all we know. Hanks is a young, athletic former safety that has insane coverage skills and speed for the ILB position. He can develop for a few years and make a lethal duo with Hicks down the line.Round 4 (SF): TE Keenan Brown, Texas StateWe assume here that Jesse James simply gets outpriced and we cannot retain him. Even if we are able to keep him, Brown is a dual-threat TE that can move and block really well. He is TE2 now with future TE1 potential. If Vance McDonald ever gets hurt, Brown can fill in extremely well.Round 4: S Malik Gant, MarshallGant can play anywhere a DB could want to play but outside CB. He is technically raw, but he has more than enough instincts to be a dimebacker from Day 1, and as he fills his frame out into Year 2, he can become a legit do it all Box safety or even a fluid single-high.Round 5: WR Penny Hart, Georgia StateWhat is the issue with fully filling out this WR room? Hart is a little stick of dynamite that could make the roster due to his ability to play slot and contribute. He is an ideal 6th WR as he can take over for DHB’s gunner abilities too, as he was that at Georgia State. In the future, he can become more than just that. Round 6: IOL Hjalte Froholdt, ArkansasMike Munchak might be gone, but Shaun Sarrett is still here! So, we give him a chance to really develop the interior of this line with a project in Froholdt. If he sits for a few years, Froholdt can become a pro bowl level OG if he pans out completely. He is a high-upside pick all day.Round 7: P Tyler Newsome, Notre DameYou know this is such a Steelers move, it just might happen. He was drafted in the fourth round by Pittsburgh in 2013 after being a four-year starter at Oklahoma. He is the third all-time leading passer by yardage in FBS history with 16.646 yards as a Sooner. With a name like Landry Jones Derek Carr Jersey White , perhaps he’ll land with the Cowboys. Jones has thrown 8 touchdowns and 7 interceptions over his six-year career to go with 1,310 yards, mostly in mop-up duty for Ben Roethlisberger. For the Raiders, this move means that, shockingly, Nate Peterman is not only not the worst quarterback in the world, but wasn’t even the worst quarterback on the Raiders heading into camp. Peterman and Mike Glennon remain as the primary backups to Derek Carr.
So what did we learn?1. Shane Ray is as good as goneBefore the game word broke that Su’a Cravens and Shane Ray were healthy scratches for Dymonte Thomas and Jeff Holland. Thomas had a quiet game outside of one play Womens Noah Fant Jersey , but he made it count. As for Holland, he saved Mayfield from getting into the second level on a 3rd and 1 in the second half. He also had a few good rushes. Anyone who watched him in the preseason knew he just needed a chance, but sitting Ray for him said more about the 2015 first rounder than the undrafted rookie.Holland’s motor was evident on this rush in the 2nd. Great second effort to get to Mayfield. After Elway turned down the Ray’s fifth year option last spring, the writing was on the wall: the former Missouri Tiger had a put up or shut up season in front of him and limited opportunities to prove himself. He’s failed completely. Ray has been the primary rotation player on the Edge depth chart since Shaq Barrett was injured and still has all of 4.5 pressures on the entire season according to Sports Info Solutions. If his season is over, he’ll finish 2018 with 1 sack, 10 tackles and 1 QB hit. It will be interesting to see if what teams watch his 2016 tape and take a flier, unfortunately he never returned to that burgeoning star rusher that notched 8 sacks behind DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller. Cravens is easily the more peculiar inactive, while Ray is a free agent after the season, Denver inherited Cravens rookie deal when they traded for him from Washington. Initially I thought perhaps it had to do with the conditional 2020 6th round pick Elway gave Washington as part of the trade, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. In the end, it may well be due to performance as Cravens was one of the many Fly Zone members who struggled mightily to contain the Niners George Kittle last week. What makes the move even more bizarre is that Cravens was benched while Darian Stewart continue to play. 2. Sutton had a big first half, but disappeared in 2ndThe biggest play Sutton made tonight won’t be reflected in his traditional stats as he set up the first half touchdown when he drew a defensive pass interference penalty on Terrance Mitchell that gave the Denver O 1st and Goal from the 3. Two plays later Keenum found pay dirt. Sutton finished the 2nd quarter with 5 catches on 5 targets for 42 yards and the 25 yard penalty. It became his final statline as the Browns put the clamps down in the second half and DaeSean Hamilton was forced to try and carry the load. 3. The Broncos ground game is still stuck in neutralA week after averaging 2.8 yards per carry against San Francisco, the Broncos vaunted rushing attack averaged 1.6 tonight. Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman had moments, but could never provide the offense some degree of consistent production. Inevitably, the absence of Emmanuel Sanders and Denver’s rebuilt interior line has finally caught up to the team. Opposing defenses are using stunts to confuse the offensive line and coordinators in recent weeks are electing to sell out against the run, daring Keenum and what’s left of the Broncos pass catchers to beat them. 4. Tramaine Brock flew solo & Von made historyThe play after Taylor was ejected Von Miller made Broncos notched his 98th career sack, passing Simon Fletcher for the most in team history. The new all time sack record holder. Unfortunately Womens Bradley Chubb Jersey , the Fly Zone was down to Justin Simmons and Tramaine Brock on drive that put the Browns ahead for good.5. Keenum did all he could to play hero Early on things looked great. At one point I thought that this was the best half of football I’ve seen from Keenum, all things considered. He was throwing to the 4th and 5th string tight ends and completing passes to 3 rookies and a receiver who couldn’t make the Ravens a year ago. Keenum and the offense were methodical in the first half. Then in a 3 play sequence Tim Patrick and Matt LaCosse dropped passes before the left side of the offensive line collapsed and Keenum threw a prayer into the end zone. It was picked off by Jabril Peppers. All things considered, it was an understandable decision as Sutton had a chance. There was a big hiccup in the 2nd half when Keenum threw one of his uglier picks. But as veteran quarterbacks need to do, he responded with a money drive to get Denver into the red zone with less than 7 minutes to go.Hamilton stretched to get the first on this clutch play. After the Hamilton catch on 3rd down though, Musgrave went conservative with 3 straight runs. Joseph called for a field goal with 4:35 left on the clock to get the Broncos within 1 point. Following Hmailton’s big catch on third down the Broncos took the ball out of Keenum’s hands. After the one of the gutsiest performances I’ve seen from the Broncos, Keenum got the ball back with 1:49 left on the clock and the field to drive.who made a play after the catch to get the Broncos to the 50. Unfortunately, the Mile High Magic was all used up. 4th and Game, the Browns went man across and sent the house. This isn’t Minnesota. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Phillip Lindsay’s wrist injury appears to be a possible scaphoid fracture with ligament damage. That’s about as serious a wrist injury as it gets and Lindsay will face a lengthy recovery time. Mike Klis also reported that Lindsay will be getting a second opinion later in the week, but the MRI exam did show ligament damage with further tests needed to confirm the scaphoid fracture. A scaphoid fracture is a break in the scaphoid bone in the wrist and depending on the severity could have recovery times of between from six weeks to 24 weeks. Either way, Lindsay is in for a long rehab back and will miss the Pro Bowl in February. Lindsay, 24, finished with 1,037 yards on 192 carries and 9 touchdowns, which was enough to earn him Pro Bowl honors. He became the first undrafted offensive rookie to reach the Pro Bowl in NFL history. Here’s a big ole Mile High Salute from Broncos Country for Lindsay. Can’t wait to see you come back strong in 2019!
