A look at what’s happening around the majors today:GETAWAY DAYWith both teams chasing an NL West title Freddie Freeman Jersey , the Diamondbacks and Rockies wrap up their pivotal four-game series. Colorado leads the division by 1½ games over the Dodgers, while Arizona is 3½ back. Clay Buchholz (7-2, 2.01 ERA) makes his first career start at Coors Field against Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland (14-7, 2.91), who is 8-2 at home this season. Colorado won 5-4 Wednesday night on DJ LeMahieu’s two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning off Yoshihisa Hirano. It was LeMahieu’s first career walk-off homer. “Just a great moment,” he said. “That was awesome.”NO DAYS OFFClinging to a one-game lead in the NL Central, the Cubs have a one-day pit stop in Washington to make up Sunday’s rainout. They’re not happy about breaking up their homestand and losing a scheduled day off, because it means going 30 straight days without one. “Playing 30 consecutive days is the difficult part,” manager Joe Maddon said. “For me, I don’t think that’s been discussed enough regarding whether to play or not.” Mike Montgomery (4-5, 3.85 ERA) faces Joe Ross, who makes his season debut for a Nationals team that’s won five straight and is closing in on the slumping Phillies for second place in the NL East.NOT A FAIR FIGHTThe surging Athletics go for a three-game sweep of the Orioles, the worst team in the majors. Oakland embarrassed Baltimore 10-0 on Wednesday night to improve to an AL-best 34-15 since the All-Star break and close within a game of the New York Yankees for the first AL wild card. The A’s have won six straight overall and are 5-0 against the Orioles this season. Baltimore has lost six in a row to fall to 41-104 http://www.bravesfanproshop.com/authentic-bobby-cox-jersey , the eighth time this season the Orioles have dropped at least six consecutive games.PERMUTATIONSThe Dodgers are closer to the NL West lead than they are to a wild-card spot, but they could make progress on both fronts this weekend against the Cardinals. Los Angeles enters a four-game series at St. Louis trailing the Cardinals by two games for the second NL wild card, and the Dodgers have ace Clayton Kershaw pitching the opener. Rookie left-hander Austin Gomber (5-0, 2.93 ERA) goes for the Cardinals. “That’s a big series for us,” Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal said. “There’s a chance to make some moves in this series.”RUNAWAYThe NL East race between the Braves and Phillies has been close for much of the season — but no more. Five straight wins by Atlanta and five consecutive losses by Philadelphia have given the Braves a 7½-game lead with 16 remaining. Both teams are off Thursday before Atlanta hosts Washington this weekend and Philadelphia welcomes the last-place Marlins to town. One glimmer of hope for the Phillies: They have seven games left against Atlanta, including a three-game set to end the season. WASHINGTON (AP) — Essentially throwing in the towel on a disappointing season, the Washington Nationals traded second baseman Daniel Murphy to the Chicago Cubs and first baseman Matt Adams to the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday.Despite a roster that boasts such stars as Max Scherzer and Bryce Harper, Washington went into a three-game series at home against Philadelphia with a losing record of 62-63, 7½ games behind the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves.General manager Mike Rizzo and ownership gambled at the July trade deadline, standing pat and expressing faith in the roster as constituted. The Nationals trounced the New York Mets 25-4 that night, but are 9-10 since, including a 2-5 road trip through Chicago and St. Louis that featured a 4-3 loss at Wrigley Field on a two-out, walk-off grand slam.“We felt that coming off that road trip and into this most recent homestand was a time that was a litmus test for us … and we felt that the timing was right to make the vital decisions that we had to make http://www.bravesfanproshop.com/authentic-bob-uecker-jersey ,” Rizzo said. The deals came three weeks after the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, and the Nationals aren’t getting much in return. For Murphy, who was hitting .300 since his return from knee surgery, the Cubs are swapping Class A infielder Andruw Monasterio and a player to be named or cash. For Adams, the Cardinals are sending $50,000 to Washington.“These are tough decisions, to trade a ultimate professionals like Daniel Murphy and Matt Adams is never easy,” Rizzo said. “We felt this was the best way to facilitate what we are trying to do not only in 2018 but beyond.”The 33-year-old Murphy was a big hitter during his time in Washington. A postseason star in 2015 with the Mets, he signed with the Nationals that winter and was an All-Star the next two years. Murphy missed the first 64 games this season but hit in 11 straight before being stymied by Miami’s Jose Urena on Sunday.“My thoughts are it’s really bittersweet,” Murphy said. “I sat at this podium probably 2 1/2 years ago. The Washington Nationals were the only offer I had. They took a chance on me three years ago and I feel very disappointed in myself that it kind of came to this point, I guess would be the easiest way to describe it.”Asked how close the team came to including Harper — a free agent after the season — in the Tuesday deals, Rizzo said: “You have to get a deal that makes sense to trade one of the elite players in the game.”Harper, who struggled for much of the first half Tyler Flowers Jersey , won the Home Run Derby during the All-Star festivities at Nationals Park. Since the break he is hitting .350 with seven home runs, 25 RBIs and 21 runs scored in 28 games.“I’ve been part of this organization for seven years and I look forward to coming in and doing my job every single day and I had no fear of being traded or let go on waivers or anything like that,” Harper said. The Nationals were coming off two consecutive division titles under manager Dusty Baker, who was fired after last season and replaced by rookie skipper Dave Martinez.Murphy expressed support for Martinez, without even being asked about him.“Right man for the job here in DC,” Murphy said. The Nationals’ high-water mark came on May 30 when they defeated the Orioles for their sixth straight win to improve to 33-22. They haven’t won more than three straight games since.“We’re definitely not in an ideal spot,” veteran first baseman Ryan Zimmerman said. “We had a chance a couple of times to gain some ground and couldn’t really string together many wins in a row.”Given the moves, Martinez was asked how he convinces his team that the three games against the contending Phillies are still big.“What’s funny is that I’ve had guys already come in the office and I don’t think I need to convince them,” he said. “They know what we are playing for and they’re all in.”To fill the spots created by the departure of Murphy and Adams, the Nationals recalled infielder Adrian Sanchez and outfielder Andrew Stevenson from Triple-A Syracuse.
After a solid start to a road trip Vladislav Namestnikov Jersey , the New York Islanders realized that sometimes the best road to success is simply to read and react as the game unfolds. The Islanders look to change their fortunes in north Texas as they wrap up a road trip Sunday night against the Dallas Stars ahead of the league’s three-day Christmas break. After limiting the Colorado Avalanche and Arizona Coyotes to a total of two goals in the first two games, New York (17-13-4) quickly ran out of gas in a 4-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday when they blew a two-goal lead after the first period.Article continues below ...“We played a good 20 minutes to start and after that we were just flat,” said Islanders winger Anders Lee, who is tied with center Brock Nelson for the team lead with 12 goals. “The last 40, we’re all just kind of fighting the puck a little bit and fighting the play of the game. You try to work through that, try to get back on it, try to get pucks to the net.”Eight Islanders have collected at least one goal on the road trip Bobby Ryan Jersey , but the best performer may be Ryan Pulock. The defenseman has five of his 13 assists on the season over the last three games.New York hasn’t fared well in recent years when visiting the Lone Star State. There’s always room for improvement and you come in ready to go,” said Bailey, who registered assists in four straight games and six of his last seven.Dallas (18-15-3) goes for a sweep of the season series after getting two goals each from Esa Lindell and Alexander Radulov in a 6-2 win on Nov. 18 in New York. The Stars are just 2-5-0 when facing Metropolitan Division foes in 2018-19.Coach Jim Montgomery’s team also has a quick turnaround after a 2-1 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. Radulov assisted on Jamie Benn’s third-period goal before picking up his second game-winner of the season with 10 seconds left.“Now we have to take a rest, adjust a little bit and get ready for tomorrow before the little break,” Radulov said. Both Benn and Radulov are riding point streaks. Meanwhile, Radulov has three goals and one helper in his last two meetings with the Islanders.Dallas will need them to keep producing. In the back ends of games on consecutive nights, the Stars are 1-5-0 this season.Dallas also looks for its third win in four games after a season-high four-game skid. SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) Harri Sateri is making the most of his opportunity in net for the Florida Panthers.Sateri made 26 saves for his fourth consecutive win while filling in for injured goalie James Reimer, and the Panthers beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-1 on Tuesday night. The 28-year-old Sateri made his NHL debut on Jan. 20 and is quickly making his mark.”My confidence is going up all the time when you get those wins and good games,” he said. ”I feel like I’ve been pretty consistent.”This past Monday Craig Anderson Jersey , Sateri was named the NHL’s Second Star of the Week.”This is a dream. I’ve been working for this all my life and now I’m here and I’m winning. It’s just awesome,” he said.Sateri’s play could make the decision on who to start when Reimer returns a difficult one.”It’s his net right now. He’s playing fantastic and the team’s got a lot of trust in him,” Panthers coach Bob Boughner said. ”That’s going to be a tough decision the coaches will have to make, but those are great decisions when you have that kind of depth.”Aleksander Barkov scored twice for Florida, including the go-ahead goal late in the second period. Jamie McGinn also scored for the Panthers.Markus Granlund scored for the Canucks, and Jacob Markstrom stopped 37 shots.Barkov gave the Panthers a 2-1 lead with 3:52 left in the second. I put it in.”Markstrom tried to be patient on the play.”I waited as long as I could so he wouldn’t put it on my forehand and make me look stupid,” the goalie said. ”I thought I had it good but it trickled through my pad and glove.”Barkov added an empty-net goal with 41.5 seconds left to make it 3-1.Barkov has 14 points in his last 13 games and is tied for the team lead with Jonathan Huberdeau and Vincent Trocheck at 18 goals.”We’re doing the small, little things pretty well right now,” Barkov said. ”Our goalie has been standing on his head all the time and giving us a chance to win.”The Canucks tied it 1-all on a short-handed goal by Granlund, who grabbed a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated in and put the puck between Sateri’s pads with 8:20 left in the second.”I was kind of surprised that I was all by myself and I was able to take it in,” Granlund said.McGinn put the Panthers ahead 1-0 on his power-play goal with 3:32 left in the first. McGinn pushed the puck from the right side to the center of the crease and it bounced off the blade of Vancouver defenseman Christopher Tanev and into the net.”We had a lot of guys who were a half a step behind Jean-Gabriel Pageau Jersey ,” Vancouver coach Travis Green said. ”We weren’t on our toes and we weren’t playing quick enough.”NOTES: Reimer returned to practice Monday for the first time since injuring his groin on Jan. 23 in Dallas. NEW YORK (AP) For New York Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton Authentic Derek Forbort Jersey Kids , the NHL trade deadline brought mixed emotions on Monday.Gorton said it was ”difficult” to trade captain Ryan McDonagh and forward J.T. Miller to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Vladimir Namestnikov, two prospects and two draft picks. But the return, prospects Libor Hajek and Brett Howden, and Tampa Bay’s first-round pick in 2018 and a conditional first-round pick in 2019 are ”exciting” for a franchise in the midst of a rebuild. He made sure to stress, though, that this was simply the beginning. There’s a lot of work here,” Gorton said on a conference call. ”We’re trying to build a team. We’re adding these assets and doing all these things, but listen, there’s a lot of work to be done.”There’s a lot of players out there that we need to be watching, finding out what’s going on in the draft. There’s a lot of opportunity to grow as a team and make our team better. That’s our goal, that’s our mission. I feel like we’re just starting.”New York has three first-round picks in June’s draft. The Rangers also have two second-round picks, two third-round picks, a fourth Youth Dion Phaneuf Jersey , a fifth and a sixth for a total of 10 picks. The deal continued the Rangers’ rebuilding process. They have acquired defenseman Rob O’Gara and a 2018 third-round draft pick from Boston for Nick Holden; prospect Yegor Rykov and a 2018 second-round draft pick from New Jersey for Michael Grabner; a 2018 first-round pick, a 2019 seventh-round pick, prospect Ryan Lindgren, Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey from Boston for Rick Nash; and now Namestnikov, Hajek and Howden.”You look at these opportunities when they come along and maybe we take advantage or get an opportunity because teams feel they can win and we can make these deals,” Gorton said.As the Rangers head to Western Canada for a three-game road trip against Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, they are 25th in the NHL with a 27-30-6 record and 60 points.Whereas New York is looking toward the organization’s future, Tampa Bay is bolstering its roster in an attempt to win the franchise’s second Stanley Cup.In acquiring McDonagh, the Lightning are acquiring a top-pairing defenseman who has one year left on a six-year, $28.2 million contract signed prior to the 2013-14 season. He joins a defensive group which includes Victor Hedman, rookie Mikhail Sergachev, and McDonagh’s former teammates in New York Drew Doughty Jersey , Dan Girardi and Anton Stralman.Right wing Ryan Callahan, who also played with McDonagh with the Rangers from 2010 to 2014, is also a member of a Lightning team which leads the Eastern Conference with 87 points entering Monday night.McDonagh has 26 points (two goals and 24 assists) in 49 games this season, and 238 points (51 goals and 187 assists) in 516 regular-season games. He has 10 goals and 31 assists in 96 playoff games.”It’s a very difficult thing to do. It’s a player we view as a really special Ranger, he (was) the captain of our team. He (was) here for a lot of good times and played a lot of good hockey for us.”A special person off the ice. Involved off the ice in charities, and a great family. A player we traded for if you think back was sort of a time where things started to change in the right direction for us,” Gorton said of McDonagh.”Difficult, as you said. J.T. has been a good player for us, too. I wouldn’t want to undercut him.”Definitely emotional to see him go.”— PITTSBURGH (AP) Sidney Crosby doesn’t really have an explanation for how he does what he does. He just does it.So if you’re looking for clarity on how the Pittsburgh Penguins star managed to knock a pass from Jake Guentzel out of the air , deflect it forward to the front of his stick before tapping it by one of the best goaltenders on the planet to spark his team to a 5-3 win over Montreal, look elsewhere.”You try to finish plays out in practice,” Crosby said after the 406th goal of his career, one unlike the 405 that came before it. ”Sometimes it works out that you can do it in the game and sometimes it doesn’t. Fortunately http://www.officialkings.com/authentic-adidas-dustin-brown-jersey , it did today.”Montreal rallied from a two-goal deficit to take a 3-2 lead 14:24 into the third on Jacob de la Rose’s fourth goal of the season. The advantage lasted less than a minute. Guentzel chipped a pass to Crosby and Crosby did the rest.”Are you surprised, really?” said Price, who finished with 34 saves in his return after missing a month due to a concussion. ”It was a great play. I tried to hit it and he got it first, then he batted it back in. That’s pretty impressive.”And pretty necessary for the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, who avoided dropping both games of a back-to-back against also-rans Montreal and the New York Islanders.”It was a huge goal for us,” Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan said. ”It was an answer to the goal that they got to gain the lead to go in. To go in after two periods with a tie game was really important for us.”Derick Brassard put the Penguins in front to stay by beating Price 2:38 into the third period and Crosby became the third active player with 700 career assists when he set up Guentzel for an insurance goal with less than 2 minutes to play.”It was a weird second period but I think after the second we knew it was a big two points for us,” said Guentzel, who had a goal and two assists. ”We needed to come out in the third and I think we did that tonight.”Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist also scored for the Penguins, who drew within two points of idle first-place Washington in the Metropolitan Division. Casey DeSmith finished with 27 saves and happened to have a pretty good view of Crosby treating the puck like a yo-yo.”That was one of the cooler things I’ll see,” DeSmith said. ”It was perfect timing, too, right at the end of the second, get it right back Jake Muzzin Jersey , I think that was a huge goal.”Jonathan Drouin, Nikita Scherbak and Jacob de la Rose scored for the Canadiens but Montreal lost for the ninth time in 10 games.”It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, it sucks to lose,” Montreal forward Brendan Gallagher said. ”I don’t think anyone in here is happy with how it’s been going lately. You come to the rink everyday with the expectation that you’re going to win a hockey game and too many times, I think we’ve left disappointed. It’s been tough.”The Penguins are in the midst of a sluggish stretch in which they’ve mixed performances where they look very much like a team capable of winning a third straight Cup with clunkers like their 4-1 loss to the fading New York Islanders on Tuesday night. Sullivan chastised his players afterward for yet another lethargic start and lackluster play in the defensive end.Barely 24 hours later, the start was better after Malkin and Hornqvist gave the Penguins a 2-0 lead, but the play in their defensive zone was iffy at best.Drouin scored off the rush late in the first period to give the Canadiens momentum. Scherbak tied it 8:19 into the second with a gorgeous short-handed deke by DeSmith. Montreal briefly took the lead when de la Rose followed his own shot, skating by three guys in black sweaters to tap in his own rebound.Crosby, however, responded in a way few of his peers can.”You’re really sure what he’s going to do,” Guentzel said. ”I think he amazes you every night.”NOTES: The game featured a rarity: two penalty shots. VANCOUVER Adidas Matt Bartkowski Jersey , British Columbia (AP) Vancouver Canucks forwards Henrik and Daniel Sedin announced they will retire at the end of the season. The 37-year-old twins disclosed their plans Monday in a letter on the team’s website before addressing media later. The Sedins are in their 17th season in the NHL, all with Vancouver. They led the Canucks to within one game of winning the 2011 Stanley Cup.”There’s been a lot of talk,” Henrik Sedin said at Rogers Arena. ”We felt the longer the season went, it became clearer to us this was going to be our last year.””It’s a happy day for all of us,” Daniel Sedin added. ”We’re really comfortable where we’re at.”They relived the tough early times when they were criticized for being too slow and soft, the high-flying glory days, the crushing defeats, and the last three seasons that have seen the Canucks lose more combined games than any other team in the league.”It’s always tough losing,” said Daniel Sedin, who along with his brother will play just three more NHL games. ”But with the team we had, you have to stay positive Adidas J.T. Brown Jersey , you have to keep playing the right way, and trying to teach the young guys.”Heading into the final year of their contracts, the Sedins penned an open letter in the fall stating their desire to remain with the only franchise they’ve ever known – even if it meant forgoing the chance at a Stanley Cup elsewhere.”We know we had the best jobs in the world,” Henrik Sedin said Monday. ”We tried to treat it that way. … We haven’t looked too far ahead or we haven’t looked back. I’m sure we will after this is done.”The twins said in their letter Monday that they originally wanted to wait until after this season to make a decision, but they decided the time was right to make the call.Selected second and third overall at the 1999 draft after the Canucks made a series of trades to grab both brothers, the Sedins have been the faces of the franchise for more than a decade. However, it wasn’t initially a smooth transition from Sweden to North America.”There’s lot of people that believed in us early on that were part of this organization,” Henrik Sedin said. ”If they would have listened to a lot of voices out of this room, it would have been easy to trade us because we didn’t live up to the hype.”The Sedins would eventually do so to become one of the most fearsome duos in the league, with what sometimes seemed like a telepathic ability to find each other with passes. Their vision and ability to find each other on the ice often left opponents shaking their heads.”We’ll miss them as people and as players,” said Canucks president of hockey operations Trevor Linden Adidas Adam Pelech Jersey , who played six seasons with the Sedins. ”Happy for them because I know this is a decision they’ve come to for the right reasons.”Two likely Hall of Famers when their numbers are eventually called, Henrik Sedin has 1,068 points (240 goals, 828 assists) in 1,327 regular-season games, while Daniel Sedin has 1,038 points (391 goals, 647 assists) in 1,303 outings.Henrik added 23 goals and 55 assists in 105 playoff games, with Daniel adding 25 goals and 46 assists in 102 games.Henrik won the Art Ross Trophy as the league’s top scorer in 2009-10 with 112 points. He also won the Hart Trophy as league MVP that year.Daniel won the Art Ross in 2010-11 with 104 points. He also won the Ted Lindsay Award as the league MVP voted on by the players.”When they dropped the puck, we wanted to be on the ice Adidas Thomas Hickey Jersey ,” Henrik Sedin said. ”We wanted to be the go-to guys.”The Sedins plan to stay in Vancouver for the time being and are looking forward to spending more time with family.”Going on the road, leaving the kids home, family, that’s been the toughest part,” Daniel Sedin said. ”It will be fun to be around them a lot more.”The core that got so close to a Stanley Cup title in 2011 has been slowly stripped away, with the Sedins among the only players left. With players like Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat at the front of a new wave under the leadership of rookie coach Travis Green, the Sedins said they feel they’re leaving the franchise in good hands. The Canucks also now have some holes to fill. Daniel Sedin has 21 goals and 31 assists in 78 games this season, while Henrik Sedin has three goals and 45 assists in 79 outings – a combined 100 points Vancouver will have to replace.”It’s the right time for us to leave,” Henrik Sedin said. ”We’ve been part of a coaching staff and a group that we really enjoyed working with.”The Canucks host the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday before the Sedins’ final home game Thursday against the Arizona Coyotes. The twins will then wrap up their careers Saturday at Edmonton.”It’s a chance for us to thank the fans,” Daniel Sedin said. ”We told our teammates this morning they should be regular games. Their 28 wins at the Pepsi Center in the regular season tied the franchise mark held by the 2000-01 squad that went on to capture the Stanley Cup.”We have lots of confidence here,” said MacKinnon , whose team has dropped 12 straight to the Predators. ”The building has been a lot of fun this year.”Colorado isn’t the only team hoping a change of scenery provides a change in momentum – Toronto returns to friendly confines down 2-0 in the series against Boston (7 p.m. http://www.arizonacardinalsteamonline.com/josh-rosen-jersey , NBCSN). The New Jersey Devils are in the same boat versus Tampa Bay (7:30 p.m., CNBC) heading into their first playoff home game since 2012.Then there’s the San Jose Sharks, who are sitting pretty after two road wins against Anaheim (10:30 p.m., CNBC). Now at home, the Sharks get last change and the opportunity to dictate matchups.”It’s a nice luxury being at home, having those matchups,” Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. ”The bigger advantage is the crowd and the environment and being able to sleep in your own bed.”For New Jersey, climbing back in the series boils down to this – avoiding big early deficits. They trailed the Lightning 3-0 in Game 1 and 5-1 in Game 2 before staging a comeback.”We need to play as a group,” said coach John Hynes, who plans to make some lineup changes. ”We can’t have passengers.”MacKinnon said the Avs need to clean up the little things against a savvy Predators team.”We’re in a tough spot right now,” MacKinnon said. ”Two games at home. CALGARY http://www.officialcapitals.com/authentic-adidas-evgeny-kuznetsov-jersey , Alberta (AP) — Mark Giordano has been defying his age all season. The 35-year-old defenseman had three more assists Wednesday night and the Calgary Flames kept right on rolling with a 5-3 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.“Just trying to put pucks on net, jump in when I can,” Giordano said. “Playing on a pretty good power play with pretty good players, trying to move the puck around to those guys and get it in their hands and when you do that with those types of players, they reward you.”Mikael Backlund, Mark Jankowski, Elias Lindholm and Michael Frolik scored for Calgary (28-13-4), which is 6-1-1 in its last eight games. Matthew Tkachuk added an empty-net goal for the Flames, who have a two-point lead over Vegas atop the Pacific Division.Giordano had the primary assist on Lindholm’s power-play goal that broke a 2-all tie at 12:57 of the second period and Frolik’s deflection that made it 4-2 halfway through the third.“He’s one of the best I’ve ever met. I couldn’t be happier that I have a chance to play with him,” Frolik said. “He’s been unbelievable, especially this year. He’s really driving the bus on the back end now.”Johnny Gaudreau added two assists for the Flames to extend his point streak to six games.Giordano has 303 career assists, moving him past Joe Nieuwendyk into fifth on the franchise list.Nathan MacKinnon ran his point streak to eight games with a goal for Colorado (20-16-8). Erik Johnson and Mikko Rantanen also scored as the slumping Avalanche dropped to 1-6-2 in their last nine games.“We’re not finding ways to win right now, whether it’s a save at a key time or a goal at a key time,” said Gabriel Landeskog, who fired 12 shots on David Rittich — the most by an NHL player in a game this season. “We’re generating plenty of chances and we allowed only 16 shots. When you do that you’ve got to be able to win.”Rittich Jakub Vrana Jersey , sharp all night, made 32 saves to improve to 16-4-3.“He was awesome, again,” Giordano said. “It’s the timely saves that are huge, to be honest. When you’re tied or you’re up one and he’s keeping that same score line. He’s been doing it all year and again, another big night by him.”Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov, tested only 15 times, fell to 11-9-5.“We have to help them more,” Rantanen said, defending Colorado’s goaltending. “It’s been our problem lately. Not just the last two games, even before that. We score enough goals to win, but we can’t give up seven or five goals every night.”Colorado has been struggling to kill off penalties. Because I thought for the most part that we were really good tonight,” Colorado coach Jared Bednar said. “It feels like defensively we have to play a perfect game right now because we just aren’t getting any puck luck at the other end.”UP NEXTAvalanche: Colorado is 0-2-0 on a five-game trip to Canada that continues Saturday night in Montreal.Flames: Host the Florida Panthers on Friday night. WINNIPEG Michael Ferland Jersey Womens , Manitoba (AP) Tyler Myers could sense his Winnipeg Jets teammates struggling to fight after getting down by two goals to the Washington Capitals. Then came the pushback: Bryan Little scored to make it a one-goal game midway through the third period and Mark Scheifele supplied his second of the night with 15 seconds left to send it into overtime.Myers fired the final shot, with the veteran defenseman taking a backhand pass from Scheifele and putting the puck over Braden Holtby’s glove 3:35 into overtime for the 4-3 victory Tuesday night.”We had moments where we didn’t have much life on the bench, but we managed to flip that switch, get it back going again and I thought it was a great team win,” said Myers, who scored his sixth goal of the season.Scheifele’s 17th goal with 15 seconds left was scored short-handed and through traffic. Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien had been called for slashing Jay Beagle with 1:17 left.”It just shows that we battled so hard,” Scheifele said. ”We battled right to the end. That was top to bottom, first line to fourth line. It was an awesome feeling.”Bryan Little scored his 12th for Winnipeg (33-15-9). Byfuglien added two assists.Connor Hellebuyck stopped 24 shots for the Jets, who were playing the seventh of a 10-game homestand. Niklas Backstrom, Andre Burakovsky and John Carlson scored for the Capitals (32-17-7), who still extended their point streak to four games (2-0-2).Holtby made 40 saves and became the second goalie in franchise history to play 20,000 minutes. Olaf Kolzig played 41 William Karlsson Jersey ,260 minutes.”They created their chances but it shouldn’t matter,” Holtby said. ”A 3-1 lead and a goal lead with 1:17 on the power play, doesn’t matter what happened in the game before that. I know we had a couple opportunities to put it into the empty net. Just move it around on the power play killing time. We just got a little arrogant, in a way, and tried to make fancy plays. It burned us. We deserved that.”Byfuglien set up the game’s first goal when he spun around Burakovsky in Washington’s end and sent the puck toward the net. Scheifele poked it in after it bounced off Holtby’s pad at 14:41.Backstrom tied it up with 23 seconds left in the period off a rebound from an Alex Ovechkin shot.Burakovsky made up for being outplayed by Byfuglien when he scored the go-ahead goat at 11:22 of the second off a sharp-angled rebound of a Lars Eller shot.Carlson scored his 10th goal of the season at 7:01 of the third. Evgeny Kuznetsov picked up an assist, extending his team-high point streak to eight games with two goals and nine assists. Little closed the gap at 11:30.”It’s a hard lesson to learn,” Washington coach Barry Trotz said. ”I thought in this building, this is a pretty hostile building. BOSTON (AP) — Rick Middleton raised his No. 16 to the TD Garden rafters Thursday night Cam Ward Jersey Womens , nearly three decades after playing his final game with the Bruins.Middleton, nicknamed “Nifty,” spent 12 seasons with the black and gold from 1976 to 1988, scoring 402 goals and totaling 898 points. The right wing ranks third in goals and fourth in points in Bruins history.“I’ve had four months to think about it, and I hate repeating myself, but honestly, I believe it is the biggest honor that certainly a retired athlete can get in his career,” the 64-year-old Middleton said before the Bruins faced the New York Islanders. The Bruins announced in July that Middleton’s number would be the 11th retired by the team, the first since longtime forward and current Bruins president Cam Neely’s No. 8 was hoisted to the rafters in 2004.In all, 19 players have worn No. 16 for the Bruins — including center Derek Sanderson, who Middleton said he wore the number in honor of. Kaspars Daugavins was the last to wear it in 2013.“In the last six or seven years, I’ve been seeing that it’s not out there; nobody’s wearing it http://www.islandersfanproshop.com/authentic-adam-pelech-jersey ,” Middleton said. “All of a sudden, it happened. In July, a phone call in July; I never thought it would ever happen that way, but I just have to thank Cam so much for doing it. … It culminated tonight.”Middleton was joined by Neely, Ray Bourque, Johnny Bucyk and Terry O’Reilly — whose numbers have all been retired by the Bruins — along with former Bruins coach Don Cherry at center ice for the pregame ceremony.A first-round draft pick of the Rangers in 1973, Middleton played his first two seasons in New York before being traded to the Bruins. The three-time All-Star led the Bruins in goals for six consecutive seasons from 1978-84. He scored a career-high 51 times in the 1981-82 season, the same year he took home the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.Middleton holds the NHL record for most points in a playoff series, totaling 19 (five goals, 14 assists) in a 1982-83 second-round series against the Buffalo Sabres. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jonathan Quick and Anze Kopitar have been teammates since they were drafted together 13½ years ago by the Los Angeles Kings, so the synchronicity of their milestone achievements Saturday night just felt right. And though 300 is a nice, round number Anders Lee Jersey , they were even more excited about a sharp win that propelled the Kings out of the NHL cellar.Quick earned his 300th victory and Kopitar scored his 300th goal while Los Angeles escaped last place in the overall league standings with a 4-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers. The Kings’ captain and their longtime starting goalie were the foundation of two Stanley Cup championship teams in Los Angeles, where they’ve been on the NHL roster together since late 2008.A few minutes after Kopitar got his milestone goal in the third period, Quick finished up his own landmark win along with his 51st career shutout.“Feels pretty good,” said Kopitar, the fifth player to score 300 goals for the Kings. “I was hoping it was going to come a little bit earlier than that, but it’s here, and I’m proud of that. … It’s great for Quickie. He’s, in my mind, the best goalie in the world. It’s very comforting to have him back there, and a privilege to play in front of him.”Quick made 16 saves and combined with his defense to end the five-game scoring streaks of Edmonton stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.“As far as 300 wins, it’s just a group of guys that I’ve been lucky enough to play with,” Quick said. “Hopefully we keep going. We want to win some more games. For Kopi Andrew Ladd Jersey , that’s awesome. He’s more of a playmaker than a goal-scorer, so 300 goals, that’s a lot.”Kyle Clifford, Tyler Toffoli and Jeff Carter scored during a dominant first period in the Kings’ sixth win in nine games since mid-December.Mikko Koskinen yielded three goals on eight Kings shots before Cam Talbot replaced him in the first period for the Oilers.Edmonton coach Ken Hitchcock castigated his team after its seventh loss in eight games.“We had one player show up and play,” Hitchcock said. “Darnell Nurse was our best player by a mile … and that’s all we had. We didn’t compete. Their best players were their best players. We didn’t compete. This is on everybody. When you have one player that competes at a high level in a game like this, it can’t be acceptable. There’s been too much of this go on in the first 41 games. We win one, and then we take our foot off the gas, and that’s exactly what we did.”The poor first period was a rerun for the Oilers, who also struggled early against Arizona on Wednesday before rallying to win.“What has to change for us (is) we’re a situation-motivated team,” Hitchcock said. “I’ve only been here 20 games, and I see the situation motivates them. We lose, we get embarrassed Anthony Beauvillier Jersey , we get motivated, and that isn’t a playoff team. That isn’t a playoff attitude, and we have to change. But this can’t be acceptable. … I don’t know what it is, but we’ll figure it out.”All-Star Drew Doughty had two early assists for the Kings, who are on their first sustained stretch of strong play after languishing at the bottom of the league for much of the season. With these two points, Los Angeles moved above Ottawa, Philadelphia and St. Louis while pulling even at the bottom of the Pacific Division with Arizona, albeit with more games played. They’re small but vital movements for the Kings after a dismal first half of the season that included the firing of coach John Stevens. The Kings ranked 30th in the 31-team NHL with only 22 first-period goals before they got three more past the Oilers.Clifford put the Kings up just 3:15 in when he took a pass at mid-ice, skated around Caleb Jones and flipped in his sixth goal. Toffoli scored after Doughty kept an Oilers turnover in the zone and set up the forward for only his second goal in 25 games.Carter then chased Koskinen with his eighth goal of the season.NOTES: Kings F Carl Hagelin returned from a 20-game absence with a knee injury. Three more RBs went down against the Jets last week(sorry Martez Carter, you were definitely making the list this week). Bibbs keeps scrapping for a spot, even with the arrival of Adrian Peterson.OG Isaiah WilliamsWhat is the easiest way to get nominated for gor the Mason/Brennan Preseason Hype! Shawn Lauvao returned to the field with the starters last week, but Isaiah Williams has many fans hoping he makes the team over some of the other retreads from last year.CB Greg StromanStroman is still riding a hype wave from being part of the reason we were able to get rid of former Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick. DB Adonis AlexanderI'm just going to leave what I wrote about Adonis last week here until he actually plays in a game. Alexander has been injured Washington Redskins Womens Hoodie , hasn’t done much of note in camp, and didn’t play against the Patriots(or the Jets). You can’t spend a 6th round pick next year, and just give up on a physical specimen like Adonis can you?WR Maurice HarrisMaurice Harris should be the starter! He just needs more chances! Did you see that one catch last year! Mo has earned some legit hype in camp and preseason this year, but injuries keep on catching up to him and he won't be on the field in the Broncos game, a big week for the Mason/BrennansOLB Pete RobertsonPetey didn't make the cut last week, but he's back and still trying to get you to remember his name.ILB Jerod Fernandez If you get two sacks in a single preseason game, you're pretty much a lock to be nominated here. WR Cam SimsCams Sims is officially a Hype! STUD, and has already been compared to Julio Jones after two preseason games in the NFL. He won't play tonight but does he even have to, some fans already have him replacing Josh Doctson as the starter. Sims is "raw as can be" according to Jay Gruden but he makes big catches against little defenders that get people excited!WR Trey QuinnHe’s back Womens Customized Washington Redskins Jerseys , but he never really left did he? Mr. Irrelevant got his own video package from the Monday Night Football crew on Thursday night, and a feature on the Bleacher. He also did that whole catching the ball thing that WRs get paid for. Quinn’s nomination this week tests the heights of the Cam Sims hype. Veteran linebacker Junior Galette will visit the Los Angeles Rams this week.Galette will arrive Sunday night for a workout Monday with the Rams, coach Sean McVay confirmed.McVay says "there's a good possibility" the Rams will sign Galette if the workout goes well.Los Angeles could use another edge rusher and outside linebacker, with Samson Ebukam and Matt Longacre currently expected to start at the position in coordinator Wade Phillips' scheme. The 30-year-old Galette spent the past three years with Washington, but missed the 2015 and 2016 seasons due to torn Achilles tendons. He had three sacks last year while playing in all 16 games as a pass-rush specialist.McVay was an assistant in Washington in 2015 and 2016, as was Rams linebackers coach Joe Barry.Galette has 34 1/2 career sacks with New Orleans and Washington, but he also has been in trouble off the field. He was suspended for two games in 2015 for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy in an alleged domestic dispute, and he was arrested last year in Mississippi after a conflict outside a spring break event at a baseball park. The Ravens offense made a little history in Sunday’s victory over the Broncos. With touchdowns on their three trips into the red zone Authentic Tony Jefferson Jersey , Elias Sports Bureau reports that they have become the first team in league history to score touchdowns on their first 12 red zone visits in a given season. Alex Collins ran for one of the scores while Buck Allen caught one touchdown and ran for another. That balance has been in place through the first three games. They’ve scored six touchdowns on the ground and six through the air and seven different players have been responsible for the touchdowns, which quarterback Joe Flacco noted while discussing the successful start to the season.“We’ve had a good mix,” Flacco said in his postgame press conference. “I think we’ve probably thrown the ball in six times and run the ball in six times. If you can do both of those things, especially when you get down tight inside the 5-yard line … that helps a lot. It takes a lot of pressure off your offense. We’ve got good playmakers, and we put a lot of pressure on the defense with the guys that we have out there.”The Ravens can keep the streak alive in Pittsburgh next Sunday night.Quick Hits: Week 1 The quest for the Lombardi begins tonight. Below are some of the biggest storylines for each team ahead of Week 1.Falcons at Eagles: The Eagles remain a front runner in the NFC, but Nick Foles looked more back up quarterback than Super Bowl hero at times during the preseason. Can Philadelphia keep the party going and take down Atlanta, even without the talents of Carson Wentz? Or will Matt Ryan and the Falcons return to their 2016 form when they were the second ranked offense in the league? Bills at Ravens: In a twist of fate, Baltimore gift wrapped the Bills a playoff berth last year, ending a postseason drought that dated back to the 1999 season. However, while the Ravens have looked to revive the career of their wavering franchise quarterback, Buffalo shipped their starter to Cleveland and is relying on Nathan Peterman, who has a 38.4 career passer rating. Can the Ravens breathe new life into their offense and support their respected defense headlined by an aging Terrell Suggs? Or will the promise of the offseason additions fall flat at home? Jaguars at Giants: After a tumultuous 2017 campaign, Eli Manning is back at the helm and the drama surrounding Odell Beckham Jr.’s contract has been resolved. Jacksonville corner Jalen Ramsey has dominated offseason conversations, calling out quarterbacks and receivers around the league, becoming a walking source of bulletin board material. Will Beckham Jr. live up to the bag he secured or will Ramsey back up his extensive self endorsement and shut down the star receiver? Buccaneers at Saints: As a starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick has a 48-70-1 career record. By comparison http://www.ravenscheapstores.com/nick-boyle-jersey-cheap , New Orleans’ Drew Brees has a 142-106-0 record. After losing in heart breaking fashion to Minnesota in the divisional round, can the Saints ride the wave of the Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram duo in 2018? Can Tampa Bay weather the storm with Fitzpatrick or are they doomed with or without a troubled Jameis Winston? Texans at Patriots: Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are no stranger to bouncing back from a Super Bowl loss. They begin their quest for a sixth championship and a third straight Super Bowl appearance against Houston. Can the Texans rely on a healthy J.J. Watt and Deshaun Watson to pull off Week 1 shocker like the Chiefs did in New England last season? Or will the Patriots, despite the departure of Malcolm Butler and suspension of Julian Edelman, assert their dominance? 49ers at Vikings: Even after overachieving in 2017, the Vikings decided to pivot by bringing in Kirk Cousins to team up with star receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Will Kirk Cousins prove Washington wrong and deliver in Minnesota? Or will Jimmy Garoppolo continue his coming out party and remain undefeated as an NFL starter and bring renewed optimism to a 49ers team that struggled prior to trading for the former Patriots back up? Titans at Dolphins: With the departure of Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker have both a great opportunity and a great burden to support Ryan Tannehill’s return. Will they be able to step up? The Titans made several moves this offseason, bringing in former Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees, signing running back Dion Lewis and inserting Malcolm Butler into the secondary. Will these moves be able to put Tennessee over the top? Bengals at Colts: With Andrew Luck back in the lineup, can the Colts right the ship? Or will Luck’s once promising career finally flame out if he cannot stay on the field in 2018? It seems as if every year Marvin Lewis is on the hot seat, yet he is never ousted in Cincinnati. Is this the year Andy Dalton brings him the postseason success that has evaded the Bengals or will the Lewis era finally end after another disappointing season?Steelers at Browns: The buzz has been palpable surrounding Cleveland, despite coming off a win-less season in 2017. Will Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, Carlos Hyde, Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward shine against a top tier opponent or will Pittsburgh’s experience and stifling defense stall the process? How will the Steeler’s offense compensate for Le’Veon Bell’s likely absence? Chiefs at Chargers: Both teams seem to flirt with proficiency but fail to fully realize their potential each season. Is this the year that Kansas City is able to translate the talents of Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt, alongside new quarterback Patrick Mahomes, into a playoff run? Can the Chargers utilize Philip Rivers’ shrinking window and finally emerge from their middle of the pack status? Seahawks at Broncos: Both franchises have secured a Super Bowl victory in the last five seasons Authentic Mark Andrews Jersey , but it feels like both organizations are further away from returning to the mountain top. With the Legion of Boom dismantled, can Russell Wilson’s brilliance carry Seattle? Still in search of a true heir at quarterback, can Von Miller and the Denver defense drive their success?Cowboys at Panthers: The Cowboys premier unit -the offensive line- is looking a little worse for wear. With that in mind, will Dak Prescott be able to rebound from his sophomore slump? Similarly, can Cam Newton get the protection he needs to succeed? With the suspension saga behind him, can Ezekiel Elliott emerge as the best running back in the NFL?Redskins at Cardinals: It is unlikely that either franchise is going to make a lot of noise this season in the highly competitive NFC. Can David Johnson, Patrick Peterson and Chandler Jones float an otherwise lacking roster in Arizona? Will Alex Smith be able to bring his regular season consistency to Washington or will not resigning Cousins haunt the Redskins? Bears at Packers: It is no secret that Green Bay’s ability to compete hinges on the health of Aaron Rodgers. With the support of emerging talent Davante Adams and veteran Jimmy Graham, can the Packers climb back to the top of the NFC North with a Week 1 divisional victory? Or will the Bears pull off a huge upset in Mitchell Trubisky’s sophomore season? Jets at Lions: After trading Teddy Bridgewater to New Orleans, the Jets are clearly all in on rookie quarterback Sam Darnold. Can he get off to a hot start with help from number one wide receiver Robby Anderson? Or will Matthew Stafford begin his elusive campaign for a playoff win with a home opener victory? Rams at Raiders: If teams received a trophy for offseason transactions, the Los Angeles Rams would have emerged with the recognition. Despite all the hype last season, the Rams still failed to secure a playoff victory in 2017. Can Jared Goff continue his development with the support of new additions Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks? With the preseason overshadowed by Khalil Mack’s hold out (which ultimately ended in a trade to Chicago), can Jon Gruden start his second tenure in Oakland off on the right note?
Kickers and punters normally fly below the radar http://www.pantherscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-david-mayo-jersey , so let’s hit pause and spotlight the many contributions kicker Graham Gano and punter Michael Palardy have made in helping the Panthers jump out to a 5-2 record. In my professional assessment, these guys are kicking butt. Graham Gano’s rehabilitation tourLet’s face it, most of us around here were pretty ticked last year when the Panthers chose to keep riding with Graham Gano over Harrison Butker. Butker was drafted in the seventh round in 2017 and had a solid preseason, but Carolina decided to put him on the practice squad where he was predictably poached away by another team, the Kansas City Chiefs. While it was difficult to watch Butker take his youthful potential and rookie-scale contract to Kansas City last year, Gano (then age 30 with a $4.0 million cap hit) responded in 2017 by connecting on a league-leading 96.7% (29 of 30) of his kicks and earning his first Pro Bowl selection. He’s been even hotter in 2018 by going 11-for-11 through Week 8. That’s right, Graham Gano has made 40 of his last 41 regular season field goal attempts. He’s also a machine at drilling kickoffs out of the back of the end zone and preventing returns. All things considered, Graham Gano has arguably been the NFL’s best kicker over the last season and a half. (Side note: He’s somehow missed two extra points in 2018, so there’s still some room for improvement.)Gano has not only been consistent Womens Ian Thomas Jersey , he’s been clutch as well. His miraculous 63-yard game winning field goal against the New York Giants could end up being a season-saver for the Panthers. The incredible kick tied for the longest game-winner in NFL history and fell just one yard shy of the NFL record of 64 yards. Michael Palardy’s house partyBut Graham Gano isn’t the only Panthers kicker who’s hot right now. Punter Michael Palardy is having a great season as well. According to Pro Football Focus, Palardy was the NFL’s top rated punter heading into Week 8’s game against the Ravens. Palardy then had a great game against Baltimore. Of his three punts in Week 8, one was downed at the one yard line (with a huge assist from Curtis Samuel) and another went out of bounds at the eight yard line. With data taken from NFL.com, 53.6% of Palardy’s punts have landed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line which is the second highest percentage in the NFL, trailing only Cincinnati’s Kevin Huber at 54.5%. Palardy’s accuracy and touch have consistently caused opposing offenses to start with terrible field position and allowed the Panthers defense to pin back their ears and go on the attack. This week Pro Football Focus released their Midseason All-Pro team and Michael Palardy is their first team All-Pro punter. Here is what PFF had to say:Kickers and punters are normally afterthoughts unless they shank a kick or otherwise fail to do their one specialized job. Graham Gano and Michael Palardy are the exceptions this year. Their consistently excellent play has been an integral part in keeping the Panthers in the playoff hunt. Let’s just hope they can stay this hot for the rest of the season and throughout a deep playoff run.Where were you when the Panthers shocked the Rams in double overtime? This week at SB Nation we’re talking about the memories we have of amazing moments from our favorite teams’ past. The Carolina Panthers—being a young franchise—certainly have a smaller pool to choose from than some of our more longstanding teams in the NFL, but just because we haven’t been around as long as some of the other guys doesn’t mean we don’t have a few outstanding moments to reflect on every now and then.Perhaps the greatest memory that Panthers fans have is from a single play in one of the most exciting playoff games in NFL history. If you’ve been a fan of the Panthers for longer than a decade you already know what I’m talking about—hell, you figured it out when you saw the image I used for the article on the home page—but, for those of us who weren’t around back then, I’ll provide a brief history of what I believe to be the most exciting moment in Panthers history: X-Clown.The Panthers were in St. Louis to face the Rams (aka ‘The Greatest Show on Turf’) for a spot in the NFC Championship Game. It was a back-and-forth affair for most of the afternoon Youth Kawann Short Jersey , and as fate would have it the score was tied 23-23 at the end of regulation. The two teams would need to settle this in overtime. Here’s a quick summary of the overtime period:The Panthers had the ball to begin the second overtime period. It was 3rd and 14, and you probably know what happened next. But, if not—this is for you.Jake Delhomme to Steve Smith. 69 yards. Touchdown. Panthers win!The Panthers would go on to beat the Eagles in the NFC Championship game to advance to their first Super Bowl in franchise history (but we won’t talk about what happened in that game). The Rams were never the same after that loss, and would head into a downward spiral that lasted over the next decade that eventually saw them leave St. Louis for Los Angeles, where they made the playoffs in 2017 for just the second time since losing to the Panthers.Where were you when Smitty caught that pass from Delhomme and scampered into the end zone, Panthers fans? I was where I always am during Panthers games—sitting on my couch. What about you? Were you watching at home? Were you one of the lucky fans who got to see that moment live? Miami Dolphins fans rooting guide for Week 4 The Miami Dolphins are 3-0 on the season and looking to continue to put distance between themselves and the rest of the AFC East. The playoffs are still a long way away Reshad Jones Jersey , but as the first quarter of the season comes to an end, Miami could be 4-0 with a three-game lead over the New England Patriots, who most considered the favorite to win the division before the start of the season. As we do each week, we take a look at the NFL’s schedule and decide which teams winning best helps Miami’s chances for the playoffs. The basic rules for most of the game is that you root the Dolphins, for NFC teams over AFC teams, and you do not root for teams in the AFC East. Later in the year, when strengths of victory and the surprises of the season - “bad” teams being good and “good” teams being bad - this will adjust, but we are still early in the season so those basic rules likely apply.Jets at Jaguars - 1pmThis game hits on two reasons to root against the Jets. The first being the obvious fact that it is the Jets, and therefore you should root against them 99.9 percent of the time. The other being a presumption that the Jaguars will win the AFC South, which would keep them from claiming a Wildcard position, a good thing for Miami. Root for: Jaguars.Dolphins at Patriots - 1pmRoot for: Dolphins.Eagles at Titans - 1pmThe Dolphins have already defeated the Titans this year, which could lead to an argument that a Tennessee win is actually good for Miami as it increases their strength of schedule/victory tiebreaks. That said, I would rather see the Titans fall away from the Wildcard than trust that tiebreaks - which can get wonky if more than one team is involved - would push Miami into position. Root for: Eagles.Texans at Colts - 1pmThe Dolphins still play both of these teams Authentic Ja'Wuan James Jersey , so they can get the head-to-head tie break for both. That means, the question is which of the two teams do you see as a more-likely Wildcard competitor for Miami? At 0-3, the Texans have put themselves into a tough hole, while the Colts are only a game better at 1-2. For this week, we will say the Colts have the better chance at the Wildcard. Root for: Texans.Bills at Packers - 1pmThis one is pretty straight forward. Even with the Dolphins playing the Packers later in the year, go ahead and hope to see the Bills fall further behind in the AFC East. Root for: Packers.Lions at Cowboys - 1pmThe odd NFC versus NFC game that impacts Miami. The Lions come to Miami in Week 7, so the better their record, the better the tie break for Miami with a win. Root for: Lions.Bengals at Falcons - 1pmThe Bengals are in the lead in the AFC North, but it does not feel like they will stay there - Pittsburgh and Baltimore should be able to make a run at them, right? In that case, Bengals losses make sense to get them away from the Wildcard. Root for: Falcons.Browns at Raiders - 4:05pm Miami holds the head-to-head tiebreak on the Raiders after last week. Like the Texans and Colts game, this is a team with one win (Cleveland at 1-1-1) against a team with no wins (Raiders 0-3). Both teams could find themselves with outside shots at the Wildcard, so we will root for the team that could help Miami in strength of schedule/victory tiebreaks and against the team with a win. Root for: Raiders.49ers at Chargers - 4:25pmEasy one. Root for the NFC against the AFC. Root for: 49ers.Ravens at Steelers - 8:20pmIf the Bengals are going to fall out of the AFC North lead Youth Kenny Stills Jersey , one of these two will do it (sorry Browns, not ready to believe there yet). The Ravens are tied with Cincinnati right now, but I think the Steelers are more likely to rebound and take control of the division than anyone else. This game is pretty much a toss-up at this point. Root for: Whichever you think will win the Division (I will go Steelers).Chiefs at Broncos - 8:15pm MondayThis is another game where it really does not make a lot of difference. One of these two seem to be the future AFC West winner, while the other will likely be in the Wildcard hunt. It might make more sense to see the Broncos lose so that they have two losses on the year, but I will look at it a different way. If the Chiefs lose, they fall from the ranks of the undefeated. In Miami, that is an important thing. Root for: Broncos.Games not impacting DolphinsBuccaneers at Bears - 1pmSeahawks at Cardinals - 4:05pmSaints at Giants - 4:25pmThe Splash Zone 8/3/18: Notes From Miami Dolphins Training Camp #7 Xavien Howard took over practice yesterday as the third year cornerback was picking on Ryan Tannehill.
