NASHVILLE Rashaan Evans Jersey , Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans had everything they needed to cap coach Mike Vrabel’s debut season with a second straight playoff berth.Except a healthy quarterback.Marcus Mariota watched from the sideline as Blaine Gabbert was intercepted twice in the final 9:05 Sunday night in a 33-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts that snapped the Titans’ four-game winning streak and ended their season.“We got to do a better job and figure out how to try to take the next step,” Vrabel said. The Titans, who finished 9-7 for a third straight season, had listed Mariota as questionable for this game with neck and foot injuries. Mariota sat out one practice and was limited in two others, throwing the ball well enough that the fourth-year quarterback appeared on track to at least test himself in pregame warmups.Mariota never took the field in pregame warmups, the decision already made for the No. 2 pick overall in the 2015 draft not to even dress for a win-and-in game to wrap up the regular season.Vrabel declined to share any details on the seriousness of Mariota’s injury or when the decision was made not to play the quarterback. An ESPN.com report cited anonymous sources that Mariota was at risk of permanent damage to a nerve hurt by the stinger that knocked the quarterback out of last week’s win against Washington.Vrabel said only that Mariota was as disappointed as his teammates over the loss.“We made a decision that Marcus wasn’t going to play tonight,” said Vrabel. “We’ll continue to evaluate him and try to worry about his health and every one of those guys’ health — Marcus included.”Gabbert said he didn’t know for certain that he would make his third start of the season until Sunday morning. Gabbert was 18 of 29 for a season-high 165 yards with a TD pass.“It’s tough,” Gabbert said of the loss. “You want to go out there and perform well for the guys, lead the guys, get a win and get into the race. But I didn’t do enough. We didn’t’ do enough, and our season ended tonight.”Some of the Titans said after the game that they knew early in the week that Mariota might not be able to play.Center Ben Jones said Mariota would have played if he could have and his teammates love him to death.“Trust me, Marcus is one of the toughest guys on this team, and if he could have played, he definitely would be out there,” Jones said. “We respect the hell out of him for what he does for this team and what he plays through. He’s one of the toughest son of a guns on the team.”Linebacker Wesley Woodyard said the Titans had a chance to win, even without Mariota.“They made more plays than us,” Woodyard said. “On defense, we didn’t do a good job of getting off the field in the first half. You’ve got to start fast against a team like that.”With Gabbert making his third start of the season for Mariota, the Titans struggled for much of the game to do much on offense. Derrick Henry took the first offensive snap for Tennessee in the wildcat, and he ran for 93 yards. But the Titans held the ball for only 3 minutes, 50 seconds of the first quarter with Indianapolis (10-6) having a 139-15 edge in total offense.Only linebacker Jayon Brown’s interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter and then stripping Colts running back Marlon Mack of the ball kept the Titans within 17-10 of the Colts at halftime. The Colts outgained the Titans 436-258 Harold Landry Jersey , the seventh time this season that Tennessee didn’t reach 300 yards of total offense. Now the Titans will clean out their lockers Monday.“As a whole, this game should eat us up all the way until next year,” Woodyard said. “We can build off this. You can learn a lot when you lose.” The three rookie receivers of the Green Bay Packers had a mixed debut.J'Mon Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown had their moments, but also showed room for improvement in the Green Bay Packers' 31-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night.Valdes-Scantling, a fifth-round pick from South Florida, had the best game of the three, catching five passes for 101 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown from No. 4 quarterback Tim Boyle.Brown, a sixth-round pick from Notre Dame, had four catches for 61 yards, including a slick 28-yard catch-and-run to help set up Valdes-Scantling's touchdown.Moore, a fourth-round pick from Missouri, had the toughest game of the three, catching three passes for 27 yards and dropping what would have likely been a long touchdown pass. Valdes-Scantling also dropped a pass."I thought they did a really good job getting off the line of scrimmage," coach Mike McCarthy said Friday."I thought their releases and attacking leverage, the young guys, frankly, did better than some of the veterans (after watching) the video. But what do we do at the end of the route? Those are things that you just need live reps. Getting out of the cut, getting to the right breaking point, catching the ball."As has been the case throughout camp Corey Davis Jersey , the young receiver who stole the show was Jake Kumerow. He isn't a rookie. He's in his fourth training camp after two years on the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad and after spending time on the Packers' practice squad at the end of last season.Kumerow, who has drawn praise from star quarterback Aaron Rodgers throughout camp, put an exclamation point on the game with a 52-yard touchdown catch from Boyle. But while the 26-year-old Kumerow came from Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater, he's had the advantage of NFL camp experience and has avoided the inconsistency the three rookie draft picks have exhibited. That inconsistency drew Rodgers' ire late in the week after a particularly sloppy practice on Tuesday that McCarthy called "our worst practice of the year."After that practice, Rodgers, who ran the scout-team offense because he wasn't going to play against the Titans, listed players who were doing things the right way, but left the three rookie receivers off that list. While he never mentioned them by name, he left little doubt which players he was referring to for making repeated mistakes.Valdes-Scantling had a leaping 51-yard catch on a deep pass by DeShone Kizer in the third quarter. He also made a nice in-the-air adjustment to pull down Boyle's pass on the touchdown, which gave the Packers a 24-10 lead with under four minutes left."Definitely. That's our leader," Valdes-Scantling said when asked if he took Rodgers' criticism to heart. "You've got a Hall of Fame quarterback over there, and if he's telling you that you're not doing it right, you've got to change what you're doing. It's just that we've got to be pros all the time. Can't be pros for just three-fourths of practice, you've got to be it all the time. That was the only thing."Moore's biggest disappointment came in the second half, on a deep ball from Boyle on third-and-8 from the Green Bay 35-yard line. While Moore did a terrific job of getting open on the go-route, he dropped the ball at the Titans 29-yard line. Had he caught it, it likely would have been a 65-yard touchdown."I'm going to move forward for sure," Moore said. "But it's definitely going to put a fire up underneath me and definitely have me dig deeper."

It bugs me having to be on the sidelines while the defense is out there. When I got my shot at corner in the Pro Bowl, it was really to put people on notice that I can defend with the best of them. Literally.”The NFL’s last two-way player was Roy Green, a Cardinals defensive back who added receiver in 1981 before becoming a full-time wideout the following year. The NFL’s next two-way player definitely won’t be Mike Evans.Whether anyone was actually fooled by the effort remains to be seen.

Over the past six seasons with the Jaguars (2013-15), Chicago Bears (2015) Womens Tarvarius Moore Jersey , Atlanta Falcons (2016-17) and Philadelphia Eagles (2018), he has appeared in 84 games (seven starts) and registered 59 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one pass defensed on defense to go along with 43 tackles and two fumble recoveries on special teams. On the six-year anniversary of their 42-13 Sunday Night Football thumping of the San Francisco 49ers to a clinch a playoff berth back then Womens C. J. Prosise Jersey , the Seattle Seahawks turned in a terrific 38-31 SNF win over the Kansas City Chiefs to get themselves back into the postseason after missing out in 2017. Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson got off to relatively slow starts, but delivered the exciting quarterback duel that was advertised. In the end, the Seahawks offense made the biggest plays they needed to make to hold off KC, and we can all celebrate a glorious win against the likely favorite to win the AFC.Let’s get to Winners and Losers right now!WinnersDoug BaldwinHealthy-ish Doug changes the Seahawks offense so damn much. He’s my biggest winner especially since you can see he wasn’t at 100%. Seven catches for 126 yards, a touchdown, and for all intents and purposes a game-sealing diving one-handed catch on a 2nd and 19... after being held! It has been so enjoyable watching Dougie play from day one, and he will go down as one of Seattle’s greatest ever receivers.Tyler LockettFour catches for 99 yards puts him on the cusp of 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career. He need 101 against the Arizona Cardinals. His final 45 yards from this game came on an astonishing long throw by Wilson into tight coverage. Lockett’s contract-extension raised some eyebrows at the start of the season... I think Tyler has proven himself out there.Russell WilsonSeattle’s notorious slow starting and low-volume passing attack might forever deny Russell Wilson a legitimate shot at winning a league MVP award, but he’s our damn MVP and I don’t give a shit what the league thinks. 18/29 for 271 yards and three touchdowns, no turnovers, 57 yards rushing, clutch throw after clutch throw, it was a dazzling second-half performance in particular. He now has 68 touchdown passes to just 17 INTs since 2017. That’s a 4:1 TD-INT ratio! Ed DicksonBelieve it or not, that 3rd and 15 catch was Seattle’s first 3rd and 15 conversion all season, and that led to the Baldwin score. He had a touchdown of his own in the 4th quarter on a diving catch in the back of the end zone, which was also impressive. Chris CarsonA well-earned 1,000 yard season for Carson, who rushed for 116 and two more scores. He has established himself as one of the best RBs in the NFL. Yes, Carson lacks breakaway speed and an ability to get 40-50 yard runs, but he does everything else so well. The hype from 2017 training camp is more than realized as we near the end of the 2018 season.Dion JordanI didn’t think I’d be putting him on here at all, to be honest! He had the only sack of Patrick Mahomes and a critical forced fumble on Damien Williams on what proved to be Kansas City’s only offensive possession with a lead. Jordan has had a quiet year but he had very important contributions.Delano Hill and Akeem KingHill had a fumble recovery late in the 1st half as the Chiefs tried to score in the one-minute offense, while the seldom-used King was slotted as an extra DB and played tremendously. Both guys helped hold Travis Kelce to just 5 catches for 54 yards, which is extremely impressive. I’ve been very critical of Hill but he fared well, as did King.Brian SchottenheimerI detest running it on 2nd and 10 as much as any other Seahawks fan, but I wanted Seattle to be aggressive in the final quarter, and they were really damn aggressive. They threw it on 2nd and 12 as well as 2nd and 19 on their final scoring drive. The 2nd half in particular was an adjustment to go away from effectively playing for 3rd and manageable, and it unleashed the best of Russell Wilson. Kudos to Schotty for his gameplan and the late-game playcalls that showcased this offense at its finest. Also praise for the Nick Vannett touchdown design, which was either an RPO or a well-worked play-action that had the Chiefs fooled completely.Pete CarrollHe may be questionable with the challenge flag. He may be careless with timeouts. He may run a little too much for your liking, or not go for it on 4th and inches enough when the analytics says go for it. Pete Carroll is the best coach in Seahawks history, and this team went from 4-5 into a playoff spot clinched with a week to spare. They have had a winning record in seven straight seasons, to go along with two NFC Championships and a Super Bowl win. These are the types of wins that other Seahawks coaches before him simply could not consistently replicate.LosersBrian SchneiderSpecial teams is a trashfire. Another missed kick by Sebastian Janikowski, terrible kick coverage that gave the Chiefs the final three points of the contest, it’s just not a good unit.I’ll always be thankful for the 2010-2013 years, but it’s time for this Brian to go. Imagine how much worse the DVOA would look if not for Michael Dickson, and even he had a couple of clunkers on Sunday.Sebastian JanikowskiOfficially, Janikowski missed only one field goal. Unofficially, he missed two field goals but got roughed on the second miss, which left him limping the rest of the game. Janikowski is 20/25 on field goals this season Shaquill Griffin Jersey , and 80% is close to the bottom of the pile for qualified kickers. Hopefully he’s alright, but the missed kicks as of late are a concern.Run defenseI’d like to thank the Chiefs for only calling four rushing plays the entire 2nd half, and had five rushes total after halftime. Damien Williams was gashing the Seahawks defense and got 103 yards on 13 carries, but his 1st half was 11 carries for 91 yards. Outside of that, even though they gave up 31, it never felt like the Seahawks defense was playing poorly overall.Final NotesI wasn’t paying close enough attention but it felt like outside of a false start, Ethan Pocic had an okay game. He was shifted to left guard when JR Sweezy got hurt, and it looks like he stayed there for the 2nd half. DJ Fluker went to right guard and came away seemingly unscathed, which is a relief. George Fant had two penalties, one a needless hold, but nothing egregiously bad for him. The o-line fared much better in pass protection in the 2nd half than in the 1st half.Shaquill Griffin’s lack of awareness hurt him on that Damarcus Robinson touchdown. He looked like he could’ve made a play on the ball or pushed Robinson out of bounds, but did neither. Apart from that, Mahomes didn’t pick on him that much at all. Same for Tre Flowers.Seahawks two-minute drills are still lousy, but that didn’t matter in this game.JD McKissic got a single pitch play and went for 6 yards. I’d love to see him involved in the offense more, especially as a receiver. The Seahawks are going to the playoffs and you better believe Enemy Reaction is coming your way on Christmas Eve. Go ‘Hawks! SAN JOSE Patrick Maroon Jersey Womens , Calif. (AP) — Alex Galchenyuk finally broke out of a prolonged slump, and the Arizona Coyotes are suddenly making strides.Galchenyuk scored two goals in regulation plus the only one in a shootout as Arizona defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-3 on Sunday.Acquired in a June trade with Montreal for Max Domi, Galchenyuk hadn’t scored in 16 games and had just three goals all season going into the game. But the 24-year-old center, drafted third overall in 2012, got his first goal since Nov. 11 when he flicked a backhand past Sharks goalie Aaron Dell on a breakaway at 15:31 of the first period. I don’t know if we really held them at bay. They tied it up, but we were able to kind of hit the brakes after that happened and keep ourselves in it and then get a big shootout win.”Hertl recovered the puck behind the net and scored on a wraparound to tie it 3-all at 13:53 of the third. Hertl also scored early in the third to even the game at 2 before Garland gave the Coyotes a 3-2 advantage at 6:06.Heed scored on the power play in the first period, his first goal of the season in his third game for San Jose.Dell turned back 23 shots.“We found a way to get a point,” Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said. “Disappointed we didn’t get two. I feel like the break’s coming at the right time. I think it’s been a tough month for us, (with the) travel. I feel like our team’s running on fumes a little bit. GLENDALE Nazem Kadri Jersey , Ariz. (AP) The last-place Arizona Coyotes are 7-2-1 in their last nine games, an encouraging run book-ended by comeback victories over the Minnesota Wild.”They’ve had a rough year, so when they get down it’s easy for them to go, ”Oh, jeez we’re down again,”’ Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said. ”But once they get ahead or tied, they start to believe, and they’ve got some good speed out there.”Arizona turned on that speed in the second period Thursday and beat Minnesota 5-3 to end the Wild’s five-game winning streak. While the Coyotes are 19-34-10 overall, they are 10-7-5 in their last 22 games. NEW YORK (AP) — After scoring his first career hat trick Ryan Johansen Jersey , Joel Armia was more concerned with the Montreal Canadiens getting another win.Armia had three goals and the Canadiens beat the New York Rangers 4-2 on Friday night for their fourth victory in six games.“It feels good,” Armia said, “but I think for our group it doesn’t matter who scores the goals right now. Edmonton fired Peter Chiarelli on Wednesday in an indictment of his roster moves in three-plus years as general manager, with the Oilers in striking distance of a playoff spot during another losing season. The team announced Chiarelli’s abrupt dismissal in the aftermath of its third consecutive loss. Edmonton has lost 12 of its past 16 games going into the All-Star Break. The Oilers are 14-14-2 since firing coach Todd McLellan and replacing him with Ken Hitchcock.CEO Bob Nicholson will oversee hockey operations and the search for Chiarelli’s replacement. Nicholson said at a news conference in Edmonton that Keith Gretzky will assume GM responsibilities for the time being, including the point role ahead of the Feb. 25 trade deadline.Nicholson said the Oilers, who are three points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, still believe they can make the playoffs but won’t sacrifice the future to try to make quick fixes. He said the organizational decision was made this week to fire Chiarelli, who was told at the second intermission of a loss Tuesday night to Detroit so he could quietly leave the arena.Nothing else about Chiarelli’s tenure in Edmonton was quiet. He was hired in 2015 after the Oilers won the draft lottery and selected star Connor McDavid. He was heralded as the right executive to get the Oilers back to respectability. They’ve made the playoffs just once in McDavid’s three seasons despite him putting up 329 points in 258 games http://www.officialdevils.com/authentic-adidas-cory-schneider-jersey , leading the league in scoring twice and winning the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP.“There’s something in the water here in Edmonton that we don’t have right,” Nicholson said at the news conference. “And we got to get that figured out.”Chiarelli is the second GM to be fired this season. The Philadelphia Flyers dismissed Ron Hextall in November and named Chuck Fletcher his replacement.Nicholson said Hitchcock will remain coach for the rest of the season as Edmonton tries to close the gap and qualify for the postseason with 32 games left.Moves made by Chiarelli along the way contributed to the Oilers struggling for much of the first four seasons of McDavid’s career. Chiarelli traded 2010 top pick Taylor Hall to the New Jersey Devils one-for-one for defenseman Adam Larsson. Hall won the Hart last season and led the Devils to the playoffs. He signed Milan Lucic to a $42 million, six-year contract that now appears to be unmovable. The big winger has 96 points in 214 games with the Oilers, including just five goals this season. And he traded 2008 first-round pick Jordan Eberle to the New York Islanders for Ryan Strome, who he sent to the New York Rangers earlier this season for Ryan Spooner. The Oilers put Spooner on waivers Monday.Chiarelli was expected to give the woebegone Oilers steady leadership with McDavid. He won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011 but made similar personnel mistakes in Boston, most notably a failed trade of Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars that contributed to losing his job.Edmonton had missed the playoffs in nine consecutive seasons before replacing Craig MacTavish with Chiarelli. A trip to the second round of the playoffs in 2017 looked like the start of success, but the Oilers finished 17 points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference despite McDavid putting up an NHL-best 108 points to win the Art Ross Trophy.Last summer, Chiarelli did little to improve the roster around McDavid. The result was 11 losses in their first 20 games that led to the firing of McLellan and later a series of reactionary moves. Beyond the Strome for Spooner deal, Chiarelli sent 24-year-old forward Drake Caggiula to Chicago for bottom-pairing defenseman Brandon Manning. This week, he signed goaltender Mikko Koskinen to a three-year contract extension worth $4.5 million a season.
his retirement from football in a post on his instagram account on Monday night.“I want to officially announce my retirement from the NFL Jonnu Smith Jersey ,” Verner wrote. “I had a great eight-year run. I would not trade my experiences for the world. God has been so good to me while in the NFL. Allowing myself to compete against the best of the best. Despite his mid-round status, Verner quickly moved into a starting role just four weeks into his rookie season. He would start 72 out of 125 career games for the Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins.Verner did not play in the league last season after appearing in 15 games for the Dolphins in 2017.Verner made the Pro Bowl in 2013 and was named a second-team All-Pro after nabbing a career-high five interceptions for Tennessee. He had 15 interceptions in his career with 451 total tackles and six forced fumbles. T.Y. Hilton may mix his sports metaphors, but there’s no mistaking his toughness this season. The diminutive Colts receiver has pushed through a number of injuries all season, and lately it’s an ankle. But none of them, he said, would keep him from what he referred to a a “Game Seven” situation this week. The Colts will make the playoffs with a win over the Titans Sunday night, for their first postseason trip since 2014.“You know I ain’t missing [Sunday],” Hilton said, via Mike Wells of ESPN.com. “My same mentality. Just continue to get my body right and get ready for Sunday.”Hilton has barely practiced since initially injuring his ankle three weeks ago, and has been listed as questionable each week.“I ask him how he’s going to do it and he says he’s going to do fine,” quarterback Andrew Luck said. “I say, ‘OK, I know he’s going to do fine.’ If T.Y. says it, that means it’s going to be true.”They have reason to believe him http://www.thetitanslockerroom.com/authentic-quinton-spain-jersey , because he’s been listed on the injury report with ankle, shoulder, groin, chest, and hamstring issues, and continues to produce. He has 779 receiving yards in the last six weeks, and 21 catches for 422 yards the last three weeks.“I will tell you what, it’s unbelievable what he’s doing without practice,” Colts coach Frank Reich said. “I just think very few players could do what he’s doing. He has no mental errors when he goes out there. It’s like he doesn’t miss a beat. I just attribute that to A, just his elite physical ability. How smart he is, you can’t underestimate how smart of a football player T.Y. is. He just understands the game, and then just how tough he is. I think he’s a rare bird in that regard.”So if the Colts are down in the bottom of the ninth, you know who Luck will be looking for.
Bucs Get Mauled In Chicago Demar Dotson Jersey White , 48-10 If you took the Bears this week at (-3.5), kudos to you. What was thought to be a very winnable game turned out to be the exact opposite as the Bucs allowed 38 points in the first half on the way to a blowout loss. It was the second straight week that the defense gave up 30 or more points in the first half, but the story of the day was Mitchell Trubisky. He torched the Bucs, going 19/26 for 354 yards and six touchdowns. The Bears came out using a lot of misdirection and play-action in order to take advantage of an aggressive Bucs defense. The game couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for Trubisky and the offense as they drove right down the field and scored after Trubisky found a wide open Trey Burton for a 39-yard touchdown to give the Bears their first lead of the game, 7-0.Tampa Bay took the field and went three-and-out on their first offensive possession. The defense was able to sack Trubisky on the Bears’ next offensive drive, but that was basically the only thing they’d do right for the remainder of the game. An offensive holding penalty on O.J. Howard stalled the Bucs’ next drive and Chicago drove 73 yards in seven plays as Trubisky threw a dime to Allen Robinson II in the back corner of the endzone to increase the Bears’ lead to two touchdowns, 14-0.Ryan Fitzpatrick finally got the offense rolling when he hit DeSean Jackson over the middle of the field. The 48-yard pass brought the Bucs to the Bears’ 17. But Tampa Bay’s red zone woes continued and the Bucs had to settle for a field goal to cut the Bears’ lead to 11, 14-3. Chicago responded right back, except with a left hook rather than a jab. Get ready to hear this a lot - Trubisky found Tarik Cohen six plays later over the middle for a 9-yard touchdown to put the Bears up 21-3 with no intentions of looking back. And they didn’t. Khalil Mack sacked Fitzpatrick on the next play, killing the Bucs’ chance at an answer. This time, it took Trubisky and co. just five plays to score on the next drive thanks to back-to-back blown coverages by the Bucs. Josh Bellamy was wide open for a 20-yard touchdown pass and now the Bears led Carlton Davis Jersey , 28-3.The explosive plays kept coming for the Bears and there was absolutely nothing the Bucs’ defense could do to stop them. Jason Pierre-Paul and other leaders of the defense were seen on the sidelines visibly upset and frustrated with the lack of effective play. Their frustrations continued after another Bears touchdown pass from Trubisky - this time to Taylor Gabriel - piled it on, 35-3. The rout was on as Dirk Koetter watched helplessly from the sidelines. The 2-0 start to the season was now a distant memory and the Bucs’ issues were starting to show through in the worst way. Just to show that they weren’t done, Cody Parky hit a 50-yard field goal to send the Bears into halftime with a five touchdown lead, 38-3.The Bears recorded eight plays of 20 yards or more of the first half. Trubisky finished the half with a perfect 158.3 passer rating after completing 14 of 18 passes for 289 yards and five touchdowns. The second half saw Jameis Winston replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick, but it was to no avail. The smothering Bears defense aka Mack, hit Winston as he was throwing the ball which led to an interception by linebacker Danny Trevathan. Chicago took advantage of the short field and a defensive pass interference call on Ryan Smith helped take them to the Bucs’ 31. Trubisky had all day to throw on the next play and found Cohen again down the sideline for a 28-yard pass. Gabriel caught his second touchdown pass of the day off of a jet sweep from Trubisky and extended the already insurmountable lead to 45-3. The Bucs were able to finally get in the endzone in the fourth quarter. Winston found Cameron Brate for his second touchdown in as many weeks and the lead was back to only five touchdowns, 45-10.Parkey added more insult to injury, nailing his 46-yard attempt late in the fourth quarter as the Bears were running out the clock to make the score 48-10.The Bucs now head into their bye week at 2-2 on the season. While that would’ve been considered a victory before the season started, it has to be a disappointment considering how the season started out. Stats from the game:The Bucs were bad in the red zone again. It’s becoming one of this team’s staples. They went just 1-3 when inside the 20. Every possession - except the final one - that the Bears scored on lasted no longer than three minutes, 34 seconds. DeSean Jackson finished with 112 yards on five receptions and now has three 100 yard games on the season.Tampa Bay allowed over 450 yards of total offense, exceeding their yearly allowance of 430 yards per game. Khalil Mack recorded yet another strip-sack and he now has one in every game this season.Fan disappointment and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We all get disappointed for some reason or another when it comes to our favorite sports teams. Part of being involved physically and emotionally as a fan makes it all worth it. As fans http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-jacquizz-rodgers-jersey , disappointment is a shared commodity and it’s the ability to express these feelings out loud that makes a sports community so amazing. I asked our readers, fans and my own personal friends via twitter for their most disappointing items in relations to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so we can discuss together and take a collective sigh of relief because after all, we’re in this together. It didn’t take long for a response that should make us all take a step back and think aloud came about. As JC states below, why can’t fans, the media or anybody outside of One Buc seem to give these guys a chance? Adding on to @jcdelatorre ‘s tweet above, it seems as if the team of late has sucked the fun out of being a fan and dreaming big. It’s a brand new season, the defense and offense have had their share of improvements via the draft and free agency, so why is there not more optimism at least locally about this team? Then again, @jcdelatorre did back up our very own @GilArciaBucs who feels the team may see double digit wins in his record prediction. Jameis Winston was sure to come up in some way shape or form and @A_Katzman83 didn’t mince words in his take. A sore topic for sure but one worth mentioning because this dead horse hasn’t quite been beaten enough. Many fans have stuck of for Jameis or gone out of their way to defend the quarterback’s actions and accusations against while at Florida State. Some have felt the need to defend his on field play as well and to each their own on all accounts. What most of us fans can agree on is this, when news first broke (and then the suspension) that Jameis may have been involved in an incident with an Uber driver that involved some misconduct, we all pulled a little hair out of our scalps and asked “WHY?!?!?!?”. So don’t worry Andrew Noah Spence Jersey White , you’re definitely not alone on this one. No response hit home quite like this one here from @BeckerBoy. We all remember the glory days when defense ruled this team and struck fear into the hearts of opposing fan bases when they knew their offense had to go up against Sapp and company. Defense was suppose to be this teams identity for generations to come much like the Steel Curtain in Pittsburgh. But as @BeckerBoy states below... it’s quite the opposite lately. The way the team has performed since the dominating defense vanished is just sad. The offense is inconsistent, the defense at times is a leaking faucet that only keeps gushing worse and worse. The kicking game... let’s not even go there actually. The team as a whole has failed. Nothing would be better than a winning season to cure all the disappointment among the fan base. That word finds it’s way into another piece here, huh? Winning. 7 letters but it almost seems as if it’s a 4 letter word around these parts. If this team, this staff, this ownership and these players could just find a way to put it together in 2018 and win, win big, win often... these fans would have a lot to cheer about and would soon forget about the recent disappointment that surrounds their sports fan lives. Come on Buccaneers, let’s set the sails and win some ball games.
was released DeForest Buckner Jersey , I remember fans anticipating a prime-time showdown between the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers. Oakland was coming off of a disappointing season, but hired Jon Gruden and the arrow was pointing up. Across the Bay, the 49ers found a franchise quarterback and strung together five wins to close out last season, building intrigue for 2018.Many thought that the Raiders and 49ers would wind up on opening weekend, but instead the league pushed them back to a Week 9 Thursday Night Football slot. Well, eight weeks into the season and the only similarity between the two teams is the one in the win column. So how did we get from “one of the best games in the schedule” to “a battle for the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft?”The Raiders’ summer was as choppy as the Pacific Ocean, filled with linebacker Khalil Mack trade rumors and odd veteran signings. On the flip side, the 49ers’ biggest storylines were Reuben Foster’s legal issues and Jimmy Garoppolo’s rendezvous with a female friend. Yet, before the season even began, San Francisco lost their starting running back Jerick McKinnon for the season and Oakland pulled off a blockbuster deal, sending Mack to Chicago for multiple draft picks. With a healthy Derek Carr and co., the Raiders are sitting at 1-6. However, in Santa Clara Jimmy Garoppolo Jersey , a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo had led the 49ers to a 1-1 record before getting hurt late in the fourth quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs. With backup C.J. Beathard under center, San Francisco has lost five straight games in maddening fashion. The 49ers’ scoring offense is ranked 23rd in the NFL, while the Raiders’ scoring offense is further down the list at 27th. On the other side of the ball, San Francisco’s scoring defense is ranked 28th, while Raiders trail three spots behind. To this point in the season, Oakland’s dysfunction has been rather inexplicable. They’ve been healthy at major positions and revamped their coaching staff, yet continue to struggle on both sides of the ball. Against the Rams, Chargers and Seahawks, the Raiders only managed to put up 13, 10 and three points, respectively. Their only win on the season is a three-point OT victory against a Cleveland Browns’ team led by rookie Baker Mayfield in his first start. On the other hand, the 49ers’ issues have been more explicable, as it’s mostly self-inflicted. Kyle Shanahan’s offense has 18 turnovers on the season George Kittle Jersey , ranking 29th in the NFL. Careless giveaways have been the difference in most of their games. Outside of a blowout loss at the hands of the Rams, the 49ers have lost every other game this season by less than 11 points.Oakland had high expectations coming into the season, but instead they’ve regressed, trading two of their three best players for multiple first-round picks. It’s setting up for a full rebuild in Oakland, with Gruden planning on using the first part of his 10-year contract to construct the roster per his wishes. For the 49ers, they were coming into Year 2 of a rebuild, but happened to take a step back with injuries to their best offensive players. The front office has identified major areas of need, primarily pass rush and offensive playmakers, but will have the ammunition to do so after this lost season. While both teams come into Thursday with one win, it’s evident that one team has a plan to address their future, while the other seems to be winging it. The 49ers have a collaborative partnership between John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan, while Jon Gruden is seemingly a one-man show in Oakland. The only similarity that the Raiders and 49ers share eight weeks into the season is the number in the win column. Outside of that, their path to this point couldn’t be any more different. You’d think at this point hearing about San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle getting accolades like making Pro Football Focus’ team of the week would get redundant Jason Verrett Jersey , but it’s the little things to make this season shine dagnabbit! So with that said, he’s back on PFF’s Team of the Week for Week 9. And it’s a good thing. He made it on that stupid catch and run alone. Kittle finished his night with 108 yards on just four receptions and a touchdown. An average of 27 yards per reception. Send it. Here’s what Pro Football Focus had to say about the selection:The 49ers have had some draft picks that may have been head scratchers but Kittle’s pick is absolute genius on the decision of Kyle Shanahan and Shanahan was surprised Kittle went as late as he did.Currently, PFF ranks Kittle first in yards/route run — two spots ahead of Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce, however, beats Kittle in total yards with 741 vs. Kittle’s 692. In terms of PFF’s receiving grades, Kittle ranks third behind Kelce and O.J. Howard. Next up is the New York Giants. Kittle has consistently performed all season, but the Giants could present a modest challenge. Football Outsiders ranks them eighth in the NFL in defending tight ends. Who knows how this quarterback or offensive situation will shake out for 2019, but one thing is for sure, Kittle is a crucial piece for it.
I’ve written about how the Seattle Seahawks should release tight Ed Dickson and the response has proven to me that this is one of those fun times where my opinion is in..."A few times this offseason I’ve written about how the Seattle Seahawks should release tight Ed Dickson and the response has proven to me that this is one of those fun times where my opinion is in the minority. There is probably no “right answer” either Womens Alex McGough Jersey , it’s just my opinion. I think people often try so hard to say things that appeal to the masses, only to realize that the thing that people really find appealing is honesty. And I honestly think the Seahawks need another change at tight end. It’s not even a major one.Last offseason, Seattle signed Dickson to a three-year, $10.7 million contract with $3.6 million in guarantees. This was a smart move for a team looking to get back to being a top-ranked rushing team again because Dickson represented the best of the best at blocking tight ends in the minds of many. He also caught 30 passes for the Carolina Panthers in 2017 with 437 yards and while he’s never been a consistent threat in the passing game, he’s proven in the past that he’s a sometimes-threat.He’s also proven that he’s usually not a threat at all. In four of the last five seasons, including 2018, he’s caught between 10 and 17 passes. In nine years, Dickson has crossed over 200 yards just four times and over 300 yards just twice. He has 15 career touchdowns in 134 career games. It’s not what he does. He’s not a dual threat tight end. He blocks. And despite the Seahawks accomplishing their goal of being among the NFL’s top rushing teams, I don’t know that it’s fair to say that Dickson was a notable reason why.FieldGulls’ own Matty F Brown was critical of his blocking at several points during the year. And okay, it’s maybe a missed block here and there. But remember what Ed Dickson is. En total. The entirety of what Dickson represents to an NFL team: He’s a blocking tight end. A blocking tight end. A blocking tight end is no better than a sixth offensive lineman, except he’s probably being asked to do less than the other five guys. You know who else is a blocking tight end? George Fant. An undrafted free agent who barely played any football prior to his NFL career. A blocking tight end is available out there on the free agent market, I guarantee it.But Dickson’s cap hit in 2019 is $4.4 million. Is that the cost of a blocking tight end?The Seahawks would save $2.6 million in 2019 by releasing Dickson, as well as clearing out $3.4 million in 2020. Given that they’d need to spend at least $400,000 or so on a replacement tight end (Tyrone Swoopes as an example), it really saves Seattle about $2 million to release Dickson http://www.seahawkslockerroom.com/authentic-ethan-pocic-jersey , but it’s still $2 million that they’ll probably need. What does it leave them on the roster? Will Dissly was everyone’s favorite option thanks to his local hero status at the University of Washington and his 105-yard NFL debut against the Broncos. We can’t predict how he’ll respond to his repaired patellar tendon, but it certainly means that the Seahawks need more options than just Dissly.Nick Vannett was fine sometimes in 2018, when he got the most extensive playing time of his career and caught 29 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns, but it’s tough to say that Vannett’s ceiling reaches much higher than this. He’s had his opportunities, and “number two tight end” does seem to be the height of his abilities. It’s possible that when Vannett becomes a free agent in 2020 (assuming he makes the team in 2019), he’ll struggle to compete for a professional job against tight ends who are younger, cheaper, and have more potential as blockers and receivers. Vannett is fine, but it hasn’t been a very ideal fit for him in Seattle. So how could I express concern for the health of Dissly and the abilities of Vannett and still suggest that the Seahawks should consider releasing Dickson, the presumed starter? Just because your best player at a position is limited it doesn’t mean that you should accept having a limited starter. Not in February.Seattle could target a tight end in the draft — which likely would not do much to help them at the position in 2019 because rookies rarely contribute significantly, regardless of draft status, mostly — or they could scan free agency and trades for more options. If an Ed Dickson was available last year, an Ed Dickson will be available this year. His skillset does not appear to be so rare that the team couldn’t test out other options. Maybe I’m wrong here. CALGARY Matt Martin Jersey Womens , Alberta (AP) — it was long-awaited and much-needed big night for the Flames‘ secondary scorers.Bennett scored twice, including the go-ahead goal late in the third period, and added an assist to lead Calgary to a 6-4 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night. On the go-ahead goal at 16:06 on the power play, Bennett was sent in on a breakaway on a pass from Derek Ryan, and fired a quick shot inside the post on Jimmy Howard, before toppling over the Red Wings goaltender.“The puck was bouncing, so I had a little bit of trouble corralling it,” said Bennett, who had his first three-point night of the season. “And once I finally did, I was pretty tight and I looked up and the first thing I saw was top glove-hand Seth Griffith Jersey Womens , so I just put it there as fast as I could.”Calgary finished 3 for 3 with the man advantage, with every goal coming from the second power-play unit, which hadn’t produced a goal since Dec. 2. Over the last six games, the Flames are 8 for 14 with the extra man.“I thought Benny had some emotional involvement in the game and that’s when he’s at his best,” Flames coach Bill Peters said. “Good to see those guys get rewarded because I know they’ve put a lot of time in at practice, working on the power play.”James Neal, also on that unit, had a goal and an assist for his first multi-point game of the season. Ryan ended up with a pair of helpers. TJ Brodie, who plays the point on that second unit, had an empty-net goal and two assists.“We want to chip in, for sure Jack Roslovic Jersey Womens ,” said Neal, whose fifth goal was just his second in the last 33 games. “That No. 1 unit takes a heavy load and rightfully so. For us, when we get a chance to get out there, we want to make something happen. It was good to see that go in tonight.”The Flames’ penalty kill also came through. After giving up a 5-on-3 goal early, they shut out the Red Wings the rest of the way while also producing the goal that made it 4-4 at 14:03.Mark Giordano joined the rush, took a slick feed from Ryan, and fired a shot that deflected off Niklas Kronwall’s stick and bounced past Howard. It was Calgary’s league-leading 15th short-handed goal.“When we go over the boards there with a 4-3 lead, we’ve got to at least keep the puck out of our net on the power play,” said Detroit center Dylan Larkin, who had two goals. “We’ve got to be smarter with the puck.”Detroit finished 1 for 5 on the power play.“We couldn’t get in the zone,” said Anthony Mantha Scott Mayfield Jersey Womens , who also had a goal. “We have to blame ourselves. We knew the way they were waiting for us at the blue line there and we just couldn’t handle their pressure.”Sean Monahan also scored for Calgary (31-13-5). The Western Conference-leading Flames extend their point streak to seven games (6-0-1). They’re 9-1-2 in their last 12 games.Anthony Mantha and Mike Green also had goals for Detroit, which began a three-game road trip.Relegated to backup duties lately, Mike Smith made 31 saves for Calgary to improve to 14-9-1. He has won nine of his last 11 decisions. Making his third straight start, Jimmy Howard had 30 stops for Detroit.Detroit went ahead 4-3 at 8:35 of the third when Gustav Nyquist got behind the Flames defense and, after mishandling the puck, passed it to Larkin, who scored his 20th.NOTES: Calgary’s Johnny Gaudreau had an assist to extend his points streak to 10 games to tie a career high. … Travis Hamonic (family illness) returned to the Flames’ lineup after missing two games.UP NEXTRed Wings: at Vancouver on Sunday night.Flames: at Edmonton on Sunday night. NEWARK Nicklas Backstrom Jersey , N.J. (AP) — Center to jeer Ilya Kovalchuk. The home team certainly didn’t give them a reason to cheer.Tyler Toffoli scored twice in 35 seconds early in the third period to spark the Los Angeles Kings to a 5-1 victory over the Devils on Tuesday night.Toffoli, who had the overtime winner Monday against the New York Rangers, helped send the Kings to their third win in four games.Adrian Kempe, Dion Phaneuf and Kovalchuk also scored for Los Angeles. Jack Campbell made 29 saves and Anze Kopitar had three assists. It was the first game in New Jersey for Kovalchuk since he left the Devils in 2013 to continue his career in Russia. He signed with the Kings as a free agent last summer.Kovalchuk was booed loudly when his picture appeared on the scoreboard as one of the Los Angeles starters. The hostile reception continued throughout the game whenever he hit the ice, and especially when he handled the puck.He returned the favor, scoring with 2:24 remaining to boost the lead to 5-1.“That’s not something you’re expecting, but that’s OK,” Kovalchuk said of the game-long razzing. “You know that’s their emotions, and that’s how they react, so that’s what I think. I was happy when I scored. That’s always the best answer.”Pavel Zacha scored for New Jersey, and Keith Kinkaid stopped 20 shots. The game was tied 1-all before the Kings scored three goals in the first 1:52 of the third period.Toffoli started the outburst on a power play 32 seconds in. He took a flip pass from Kopitar and rifled the puck under the crossbar before striking again just 35 seconds later.“To start the third period with the power play was huge, and we went in with the plan of getting the puck to the net James Neal Jersey Womens ,” Toffoli said. “Kopitar found me in the slot and we put it in. It kind of kept rolling from there. We took over the game in the first two minutes, and did a good job and did the right things necessary to win.”Phaneuf added his first of the season on a point shot that glanced off a New Jersey defender, and suddenly the Kings were in control.Kempe opened the scoring at 6:21 of the first period with a shot from the slot that handcuffed Kinkaid. It was the only goal of the opening period — and Kempe’s third in the last two games. The momentum shifted New Jersey’s way to start the second as the Devils fired nine of the first 10 shots of the period. The pressure paid off when Zacha evened the score at 3:31 on a sensational setup by Jesper Bratt. Skating behind the Kings net, Bratt fed a no-look backhand pass to the slot where Zacha slammed it home.It was another disheartening loss for the Devils, who have been unable to generate positive momentum in a season that has slipped away from them.“It seems like we put together a good game here and there,” captain Andy Greene said. “It’s not like we’re not working hard. They’re mental mistakes. It just seems when that happens, we’re getting busted for it. The goals are happening. We’re letting them in. We compound one mistake into two or three.”NOTES: Jeff Carter, who sustained a lower-body injury in the Kings’ victory Monday night over the Rangers, is sidelined day-to-day, according to coach Willie Desjardins. … Nate Thompson returned for the Kings after missing two games with the flu. … The game began a season-high four-game homestand for the Devils, who play nine games at the Prudential Center in February.UP NEXTKings: At the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.Devils: Host the New York Islanders on Thursday. ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Their hold on a spot in the playoffs hardly firm T.J. Oshie Jersey , the Minnesota Wild’s streak of six straight postseason appearances took a hit when captain Mikko Koivu tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee .For the 35-year-old Koivu, who has never advanced past the Western Conference semifinals and has just a 16-39 record with the Wild in the playoffs, this severe late-career injury was a most unwelcome development even for a determined, intense player like him.For the Wild, the absence of their second-line center and best defensive forward will be impossible to cover up.For general manager Paul Fenton it created an unexpected complication to an already unclear picture about how to approach the NHL trade deadline on Feb. 25. Is this a postseason-caliber team, with the opportunity to make some noise in a tournament that’s one of the most unpredictable in sports? Or are the Wild bound for mid-April vacations and a higher-than-usual draft pick? Throughout his first season on the job, well, Fenton has acknowledged his own uncertainty.Should he try to buy and bring in a veteran center for the final push? Or start selling to restock the prospect pool? Stay tuned was Fenton’s answer to that question on Thursday morning, before the Wild hosted Edmonton.“I’m going to watch them play here a little bit. I actually have meetings with our staff to talk about where we are and how we are going forward here,” Fenton said. “I’m not trying to be mysterious. You guys watch our team as much and you look at the standings. Everybody is in it. It isn’t like we can say ‘Yes,’ or ‘No,’ or ‘You’re definitely in Authentic Blake Wheeler Jersey ,’ or ‘You’re definitely out.’ It’s going to be a dogfight right to the end.”The Wild entered play Thursday in fourth place in the Central Division and in control of the first wild card spot, with one game in hand and a three-point lead on Vancouver. They haven’t produced a winning streak longer than three games since a five-game run that ended on Oct. 29, and in the first three games this month out of their bye week they snagged just two of six points.“It’s an opportunity for somebody else to step up and to make their mark,” Fenton said. The recently acquired Victor Rask will move up one line. Joel Eriksson Ek, who was recalled from the AHL after Koivu was hurt at Buffalo on Tuesday night, also will be heavily relied on.“We’re really going to miss Mikko, because he might be the best player this franchise has ever seen,” coach Bruce Boudreau said. “But if you sit and pout and go, ‘Woe is me,’ you’re going to be all done.”Koivu, who will have surgery Friday, did not speak to reporters. Fenton declined to speculate on his readiness for training camp in September http://www.officialhockeyjetsshop.com/authentic-adidas-bryan-little-jersey , but the typical recovery timeline for an ACL would put his availability for the 2019-20 season opener in doubt. That’s the final year on Koivu’s contract, with a $5.5 million salary cap hit.In the meantime, his defense will unquestionably be missed the most.“That’s my favorite part of his game,” goalie Devan Dubnyk said.Koivu missed just three or fewer games in eight of his first 13 seasons in the NHL. This one will be his career low for a non-lockout schedule.“I’m sure there’s a lot of teams in the league that play against this team that are thinking that, ‘Finally, we don’t have to play against that weight and size that he brings to the game,’ because he’s a very competitive guy,” Oilers coach Ken Hitchcock said. “I’ve seen him wear down a lot of good centers.”

Both teams are improving and pushing for a playoff spot.“I know it’s very early in the year, but these games become vitally important as they add up throughout the season. Our group will be excited about going there.”Since the Oilers also play at home on Sunday against the Vegas Golden Knights (8-10-1), McLellan has opted to start backup goalie Mikko Koskinen against the Flames before bouncing right back with netminder Cam Talbot the next night.“Two games, we’re at home and we’re on the road,” McLellan said. “One team went to the Stanley Cup Finals last year and the other team is a rival. We just decided that we would play Mikko on the road to experience the rivalry and Talbs at home in the back-to-back.”Although Flames bench boss Bill Peters announced on Friday that goaltender David Rittich will get the start against the Oilers, he added that he won’t be afraid to go back to Mike Smith, who let in the game-winning goal through his legs in the third period on Thursday to Montreal forward Artturi Lehkonen.“We’re going to keep putting him in there when the time is right and away you go Womens Kris Russell Jersey ,” said Peters of Smith. “He’ll get another chance and when you get the chance, seize the opportunity.”Rittich made 21 saves for his first NHL shutout against the Kings in Los Angeles in his last start last Saturday.“I feel good, but it’s another game and you have to be prepared for it,” said Rittich, who has a 5-1-0 record to go with a 1.91 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage. “What happened last game, it happened. Everyone in our locker room has to be prepared for another game. It’s going to be a great atmosphere here and we want to win.”In a one-for-one deal that was announced on Friday, the Oilers acquired Ryan Spooner from the New York Rangers in exchange for fellow forward Ryan Strome. While the bulk of contenders duke it out to secure playoff spots, the Tampa Bay Lightning sit comfortably atop the NHL with nothing left to play for.The Lightning clinched the Presidents’ Trophy and home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs with nine games left in the regular season. With no blueprint for how to play hockey games that don’t matter, they’re glad that eight of their final nine games come against teams currently in playoff position and turning this into a dress rehearsal for what could be a long run.“It helps with the teams that we have left on the schedule,” forward Adam Erne said. “They’re all going to be playoff-like games, and I think we have a playoff mentality and we know that we can’t just flip a switch once playoffs start. We want to prepare ourselves for the first round.”Tampa Bay is already 2-1-0 since clinching, faces Boston on Monday and in the season finale and has games left against Washington Colorado Avalanche Hats Authentic , Montreal and Toronto. There’s very little of the unpredictability of what to expect from opponents playing out the string — save for a game at cellar-dwelling Ottawa —and plenty of meaningful games to keep the Lightning from getting complacent. This is the first Presidents’ Trophy in Lightning history, so when he was asked how to handle clinching so early, coach Jon Cooper quipped, “I guess we’re going to find that out.”Cooper already should be in contention for the Jack Adams Award as coach of the year, but he shouldn’t have to do too much motivating considering the Canadiens, Bruins or Maple Leafs and Capitals could reasonably make up his team’s path to the Stanley Cup Final.“A lot of times the opponent brings it out in you Custom Colorado Avalanche Jerseys ,” Cooper said. “A lot of these teams will pull the best out of you, and we’ve just got to be ready for it.”Captain Steven Stamkos acknowledged it’s impossible to replicate playoff emotion in the regular season but said “there’s still some things that we want to accomplish.”Still possible is the single-season wins record of 62 set by the 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings — before the addition of shootouts and elimination of tie games — and the Lightning would have to win four of their final six just to tie.MVP candidate Nikita Kucherov should finish first in points by a lot, but he’s also seven shy of Alexander Mogilny’s single-season record for a Russian player. Countryman Andrei Vasilevskiy leads the league in victories by a goaltender and is also making a case to win the first Vezina Trophy of his career. There’s a lot of guys having great seasons individually and as a team we’re having a great season,” defenseman Ryan McDonagh said. “We want to see how well we can finish, too, and there’s a lot of pride in that. … Collectively as a team I think we’ve set ourselves up obviously for a great opportunity and we’re trying to understand that and really just try and gain some confidence here.”More than anything www.officialbluejackets.com , the Lightning don’t want to lose a step that could be costly in the playoffs. Cooper is unsure if he’ll rest any players down the stretch, and Stamkos doesn’t expect that at least until the final couple of games. The fact that most of these games will matter to opponents could affect Cooper’s decisions, too. But he and Tampa Bay’s focus is on getting 16 victories to win the franchise’s first title since 2004 and there doesn’t seem to be any lack of focus on that end goal with six games left in the regular season.“You want to make sure that you’re not giving any gimme games while you’re trying to rev up your engine again for the playoffs,” defenseman Braydon Coburn said. “You don’t want to be the team that’s limping in the playoffs just because you had a good record.”

Even the other night in Carolina, it wasn’t pretty, but we found a way.“Maybe that’s the difference between this year’s team and last year’s team.
