For those players and coaches who aspire to make a positive impact on the world, July can be the busiest, craziest month of the year.Sports Illustrated published a fascinating piece on the Lynn Family Foundation and their work in Tanzania this year. Headed by the Chargers’ coach and his wife Stacey Bell (an NBC New York news anchor), the Lynn Family Foundation seeks to improve life for hundreds of children in Tanzania by building new schools. In Lynn’s own words,The area in question is a rural village in Africa, where children are often pushed into the workforce at an early age. With little or no educational experience, the children have an even harder time rising out of poverty. Lynn aims to help curb that cycle by building schools and hiring teachers that can help equip students to aim higher and dream larger.Construction began last year on 50 acres that the Foundation had secured with the local Maasai tribe. Construction of this first phase finished very recently, and Lynn was excited to come visit and see the fruits of his labors.Plans are already underway to begin construction on a middle school and then a high school in the coming years. Watching the reactions and the positive impact of this first school will surely energize Lynn for the future. After achieving his bachelor’s degree at age 49, Lynn spoke to his players about not being defined only by football. He urged them to use the free time built into the NFL offseason to pursue endeavors outside of the game, and he hopes that his actions serve as an example to the young men on the Chargers’ team.In Anthony Lynn’s mind, having an impact off the field can help mold people into better players. It is clear, however Womens Corey Liuget Jersey , that any on-field benefits pale in comparison to the players’ potential impact on their fellow man.-Jason “July’s kinda’ nice, after all!” Michaels Can this veteran find a way to capitalize on Tyrell Williams’ departure?" />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesHorizontal - WhiteBolts From The BlueBolts From The Blue, a Los Angeles Chargers communityLog In or Sign UpLog InSign UpFanpostsFanshotsSectionsChargersOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 322 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections San Diego Chargers Daily LinksSan Diego Chargers NewsSan Diego Chargers OffseasonSan Diego Chargers HistorySan Diego Chargers HumorFiled under:Latest NewsLos Angeles Chargers NewsChargers OffseasonChargers 90-in-90: WR Geremy DavisNew,21commentsCan this veteran find a way to capitalize on Tyrell Williams’ departure?PDTShareTweetShareShareChargers 90-in-90: WR Geremy DavisPhoto by Sean M. Haffey/Getty ImagesThere has been a log-jam at the wide receiver position over the last couple years and a number of capable wideouts have had to sit back and work in the background as Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams, and Travis Benjamin kept all the playing time to themselves. Now that Tyrell has officially moved up to Oakland, there are a decent amount of snaps to go around to a lucky player who can separate himself from the pack. Davis is right up there on the short-list along with last year’s sixth-round pick, Dylan Cantrell, as well as Artavis Scott.Even with Travis Benjamin currently sitting at third on the depth chart, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the team use a heavy rotation to start the regular season (apart from Allen and Williams, of course.)Basic InfoHeight: 6-3Weight: 211College: University of ConnecticutExperience: 5Years with team: 3Contract Status“Geremy Davis signed a 1 year, $895,000 contract with the Los Angeles Chargers Dan Feeney Jersey , including a $25,000 signing bonus, $25,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $895,000. In 2019, Davis will earn a base salary of $805,000, a signing bonus of $25,000 and a roster bonus of $65,000, while carrying a cap hit of $735,000 and a dead cap value of $25,000.”- Spotrac.comThe GoodDavis fits the mold of the tall http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-watt-jersey , physically-imposing wide receiver that the Chargers have loved so much over the past couple years. When Dontrelle Inman was with the team, he was mostly used in 1-WR sets and utilized for his effort as a blocker. I believe that’s what has helped keep Davis around. He has yet to catch a pass in the regular season since he was with the New York Giants in 2015, but he always tends to show out in the exhibition games prior to the season. He is also a veteran who can provide spot duty in a pinch. If something were to happen to a receiver in front of him on the depth chart, he wouldn’t be the worst guy to have waiting in the wings. The BadNo matter how good he consistently looks in the preseason, Davis has yet to catch a pass in a regular season game over the last three full seasons. To his name, he only has two catches for 21 yards. That’s no bueno no matter how you look at it. Maybe he just needs the right opportunity? Maybe he’s just a preseason All-American? We just don’t know at this point. I think Davis is going to have to show out one more time during this year’s exhibition games to finally show the staff that he can hang if given a legitimate workload.Odds of making the team/What to expect in 2019I think Davis is close to a sure-thing when it comes to making the final 53. He’s been nothing but consistent and available and those two things are high up on the coaches’ priorities. The team really didn’t bring in or draft anyone that seems automatically better than Davis, either. Cantrell and Scott seem to be the only guys in the room that could potentially push Davis down the depth chart so, at worst, he could be the team’s sixth and final wide receiver on the active roster.Fun Fact: Davis was a standout player for the UConn Huskies from 2011-2014. He finished his career with 165 catches for 2,292 yards, both of which were school records in the FBS era at the time. He currently sits at 6th all-time in receptions and receiving yards in school history while holding the single-game record for receptions in a game at 15. As a junior, he became the first wideout to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a season since 1988.
