Packers-Vikings Fantasy Reaction: Adams Color Rush Geronimo Allison Jersey , Graham set the tone on offense It was a game marred by bad penalty calls and bad field goal kicks. with the Minnesota Vikings after an offensive shootout. The Packers tied, but hopefully they helped you capture a fantasy win. Aaron Rodgers may be injured, but his fantasy value remains high and that showed with the performances the pass catchers were able to have. There were points all around so let’s take a look at whose stock is rising and whose took a dip after Week 2.Trending UpJimmy Graham, TEAfter a down opening week, Graham was active in the passing game and valuable in PPR leagues. He saw eight targets and brought in six of those for 95 yards. Those targets were second on the team in Week 2. He hasn’t found the end zone yet in a green-and-gold jersey (he had a TD called back due to penalty), but if he maintains that target share, they could be coming. Packers DefenseDespite allowing a ton of points, the Packers defense (and special teams, for fantasy purposes) continue to look like they’re piecing things together. They scored a touchdown early in the game on a blocked punt. However, they’ll need Kevin King back on the field or to take more chances with the rookie corners. King went down with an injury before the second half which altered the secondary. In the second half, Kirk Cousins proceeded to throw for 293 yards and three touchdowns. Stefon Diggs scorched Davon House and Kentrell Brice failed to make a key play on a lucky touchdown pass to Adam Thielen. I’m not saying they were perfect, but they already look better than last year and more games together could make this defense start to look very interesting in fantasy. Flag them on a watch list. Davante Adams, WRAdams has been averaging 20 points per game over the first two weeks and doesn’t appear to be slowing down. He brought in eight targets for 64 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets. He continues to lead the team in targets Color Rush Antonio Morrison Jersey , averaging 10 per game, and again proved that the Vikings defense isn’t going to be a roadblock in his fantasy value. He’s currently in the top-10 of WR for fantasy points and will likely move up on that list given some of the outlier players who’ve scored more than him in two weeks. Trending DownRandall Cobb, WRThis isn’t panic mode for Cobb yet and by no means should you drop him to the waiver wire. He just had a low-production week and compared to last week’s performance he struggled to break anything big. He saw only six targets bringing in four of those for 30 yards. In order to protect Rodgers, the Packers are going with quicker routes and quicker passes which should benefit Cobb. However, a large target share going to Graham and Geronimo Allison emerging as a WR2, Cobb’s fantasy relevance could start to be touchdown dependent. Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery, RBsNeither have done much to separate themselves in the running back battle while Aaron Jones’ return from suspension looms. Williams’ 3.4 yards per carry has made it difficult to take the pressure of Rodgers to pick up big chunks of yardage. Montgomery is also only averaging five fantasy points per game so his value with dip even further with the return of Jones and short yardage targets going elsewhere. Aaron Jones provides the most explosion in the run game for the Packers and the highest upside going forward. That Aaron Rodgers did not get a final opportunity to pull off another final drive victory on Sunday was demoralizing for Green Bay Packers fans. For the Chico, California native, it had to be just as frustrating not to be able to display two-minute heroics in front of a home-state audience that has witnessed Rodgers’ success at all levels. Even in college, Rodgers propelled a Cal Golden Bears team to a 4-2 record against intrastate rivals USC, UCLA, and Stanford during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Rodgers’ performance before he was replaced due to injury in a three-overtime win over Southern California in 2003 was during the height of the Trojan dynasty and it was USC’s only loss of the season. Although the Golden Bears lost the following year in the rematch, Rodgers still completed 85% of his 34 passes in the top-ten showdown. As a professional, Number 12 has also been reliable against California-based squads Color Rush Tramon Williams Jersey , though quarterback wins may be a debatable statistic. The Packers under Rodgers carry a 2-0 regular season record against both the Oakland Raiders and the former San Diego Chargers, while owning a 4-2 mark against the San Francisco 49ers. The Packers are also 3-1 on the road in these games with Rodgers at the helm. The Packers had a chance to move to 9-2 against teams in Rodgers’ home state with a win against the Los Angeles Rams. Unfortunately, the team’s first matchup against the Rams since their relocation from St. Louis did not go as planned, and the Packers lost their first game versus a California opponent since September 2013 against the 49ers.Although the Packers have dropped two close playoff contests to the 49ers, the regular season marks have been remarkable for Rodgers. It was just two weeks ago that the franchise quarterback threw for 425 yards and two touchdowns as part of walk-off win over the 49ers, complete with an improbable Rodgers-led final scoring drive. Even with a less Earth-shattering 286 yards and single scoring strike against LA on Sunday, Rodgers’ stats against California teams are enough to win plenty of games. In the 11 regular season matchups, Rodgers has averaged 290 yards, two touchdowns, and a 105.5 quarterback rating as calculated by Pro Football Reference. Only once has Rodgers posted a rating below 93.0, while his 90-plus rating in each of his playoff losses is certainly not a shabby mark either. In many ways, the loss at the hands of the undefeated Rams was a tough pill to swallow. The Packers battled in a seesaw game for 58 minutes only to be eliminated by an unfathomable special teams blunder. They fell to 3-3-1 as they near the mid-season point with another difficult road contest awaiting in New England. A win over a dominant NFC foe could have been a momentum swing for Green Bay. But while the Packers took a blow to their postseason chances, Rodgers also suffered an uncommon blemish to his career track record in his home state and missed an opportunity to showcase his last-second skills once again on Fox’s America’s Game of the Week.
