VANCOUVER - The B. Jermon Bushrod Jersey .C. Lions and Calgary Stampeders will put on a quarterbacking show Friday in their final game of the 2014 CFL regular season at B.C. Place Stadium. Both clubs plan to use two signal-callers as they get ready for the playoffs. Kevin Glenn will start as usual for the Lions (9-8) as they attempt to lock up third place in the West Division. But rarely used backup John Beck, the leagues oldest rookie quarterback at 33, will also see action. Catch the all the action on TSN Radio 1040 starting at 5:30pm PT. Its one of those situations where Im going to let (Glenn) play as much as he needs to, said Lions coach Mike Benevides. I dont have any thoughts of having a sequence in and out. Backup Drew Tate will start for the Stampeders (14-3), who have secured first place and a bye to the Western Final at home. Starter Bo Levi Mitchell will see limited duty as Calgary attempts to bounce back from an upset loss to Winnipeg during a snowstorm at home last weekend. With a win, the Lions can clinch third and a road game against the Edmonton Eskimos. If B.C. loses, a possible cross-over to the East Division playoffs could result. To be honest with you, as anybody says, nobody really cares (about playing in the West or East), as long as we get an opportunity, said Benevides. But I do think that, in order to have any sort of momentum and feel the way we should feel as a football team, or need to feel, we have to find a way to play well (Friday). While using multiple quarterbacks, both clubs will also make numerous lineup changes as they attempt to make up for embarrassing losses. The Lions are looking to bounce back after an embarrassing 37-3 loss in Edmonton last weekend. Glenn said its important for the Lions to play well even though the Stampeders will not be as strong as usual. The 14-year veteran said he understands his team needs to rest him, but he also has a strong desire to play. He does not need considerable playing time to tune up for the playoffs. Its the time that (coaches are) willing to give, he said. Ive been in this league long enough to know that I dont necessarily have to play the whole game to be ready, if thats the given situation and they want to play other guys, to see other guys. Beck, a former NFL journeyman was initially slated to be No. 3 but moved into a backup role after Glenn assumed the No. 1 role in wake of Travis Lulays shoulder troubles. Beck could see his most minutes yet behind centre. Thats exciting for me, said Beck. So whatever happens, happens. Nothings really been set out (in terms of) specifics. B.C.s other most notable change on offence will see running back Stefan Logan assume the starting tailback role after he missed four games — two due to injury and two more after being displaced from the roster. Linebacker Adam Bighills absence (hand) will be the most significant one on defence. Despite the fact that the game is shaping up as a quasi-exhibition contest due to all of the lineup changes, B.C. defensive back Ryan Phillips said the Lions have a renewed sense of urgency in wake of the one-sided loss to Edmonton. Were not looking at this game as a meaningless game or anything like that, said Phillips. Every game counts. Meanwhile, Calgary general manager and coach John Hufnagel plans to play QBs Tate and Mitchell on a 50-50 or 60-40 basis depending on how the game goes. Hufnagel chose to start Tate in order to give him added pressure in case he has to play in the post-season. The Stamps want to play well heading into a bye in order to avoid a repeat home loss in the West Final after they fell to eventual Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan last year. We definitely dont want to have that happen again, and (we want to) just take advantage of the opportunity that we all have (Friday), said Tate. The Stamps will try to regain their offensive momentum without CFL rushing leader Jon Cornish, who had to leave Saturdays game against Winnipeg in the second quarter after bouncing his head off the McMahon Stadium turf. Martell Mallett will see the lions share, so to speak in his place, said Hufnagel. While many teammates are rested, Calgary receiver Marquay McDaniel will return after being out since Sept. 13 with a broken wrist. (The game) might not mean anything, but it means something to me just being out there, said McDaniel. Tom Savage Saints Jersey . Yet now its time for the most important pick of them all; the Grey Cup. The thought of going 5-0 with the correct choice is quite intoxicating, I dont think I have ever gone perfect in my CFL futuristic playoff speculations and would take great pride in guessing - I mean analyzing - correctly. Marcus Davenport Saints Jersey . The 26-year-old slider from Calgary posted a time of 50.464 seconds, 0.573 seconds back of leader Natalie Geisenberger. The German led the overall World Cup womens standings this season and continued her dominance by putting down a track record time of 49. http://www.shoptheofficialsaints.com/Elite-Tom-Savage-Saints-Jersey/ .Y. - The New York Yankees made it official Saturday, announcing the completion of a seven-year deal with free-agent outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury and a one-year contract for returning starter Hiroki Kuroda.St. Louis Blues 3 Winnipeg Jets 1 (Jets 31-20-9, Road 15-16-3) – The previous four games between these two teams this season were all decided by one goal, and for the most part so was this one. With the win the Blues become the first team to hit the 100 point mark (101) as they upped their record to 20-0-2 in games within the Central Division. This was a physical, feisty affair with 100 penalty minutes handed out at 19:59 of the third. The Jets are now six points behind Phoenix for the final playoff spot, as the Coyotes were 4-3 winners in Los Angeles. The First period was scoreless as the Jets, playing on back to back nights, put together a very solid 20 minutes, outshooting the Blues 7-6. St. Louis got the games first goal early in the second, as Brendan Morrow notched his 11th of the year. The Jets managed only five shots on goal in the second. The Jets tied the game early in the third. With the teams playing four on four, Evander Kane set up Eric ODell on a two on one. ODell went to his backhand to score his third. Zach Bogosian also drew an assist. In the back half of the period Kane was called for slashing giving the Blues their second power play of the game. David Backes was the recipient of a fortunate bounce to score his 22nd of the year and give the Blues a 2-1 lead. Mark Stuart blocked a shot, with the puck deflecting to the front of the net and right onto the stick of Backes. With Al Montoya on the bench for an extra attacker, Backes and Jacob Trouba were chasing a puck into the Jets zone, there was some contact between the two, Backes went to the ice and the officials ruled it an automatic goal feeling Trouba had tripped Backes. As time was running out a number all the players on the ice ended up in the corner in the Blues zone, gloves off and fists flying as emotions from this physical game hit the boiling point. Rick Leonard Saints Jersey. The Blues again kept the Jets to just five shots on goal making the final tally 25-17. 3-1 was the final. The Blues did score another with under a second to go, again with Montoya on the bench, but it was eventually ruled play had been whistled down because of the melee in the Jets zone. The power play goal by Backes was the first given up by the Jets in 40 shorthanded road situations. The last time on the road the Jets gave up a power play goal was January 21st in Anaheim. They then went eight road games where the PK was perfect. The Jets outhit the Blues 40-26, with Stuart leading the way with nine. He also led the way in blocked shots with seven. Andrew Ladd led the way in shots on goal with five. Jacob Trouba led in ice time at 24:38. Blake Wheeler led the penalty count with 15 PIM. Jets are now 1-6-1 in the second game of back to backs, as the game ended three in four nights, while the game Wednesday vs Colorado (TSN Jets, TSN 1290) ends a difficult stretch of five games in eight days. For coach Paul Maurice the Jets got the start they wanted. "We had a really good first, on the road, played the night before." On the penalty to Kane in the third, "We cant be in the box there. Thats the bottom line. That gets called in this league. We have to be responsible for our own play." On the 3-1 goal, Coach Maurice felt the wrong call was made. That it was incidental skate contact by two players going after the puck. For the Jets it was the same lineup as it was against Dallas, with a chance that Jim Slater and Ondrej Pavelec will be able to return to the lineup Wednesday.
