Sorry I got a little MIA with the last couple weeks of AAF updates. Once free agency and the combine arrived, I got pretty wrapped-up in that like everybody else, so forgive me.This past weekend was a wild one as the Arizona Hotshots knocked off the remaining unbeaten squad Doug Flutie Color Rush Jersey , the Orlando Apollos, 22-17.The Birmingham Iron squeaked out a close victory over the San Diego Fleet, 32-29, and the San Antonio Commanders won a very lop-sided game against the Atlanta Legends Trevor Williams Color Rush Jersey , 37-6.Below are the former Chargers who made their presence felt during the most-recent slate of AAF matches.DT Tenny Palepoi - Salt Lake City Stallions3 total tackles, 2 sacks, 3 quarterbacks hitsCB Steve Williams - Salt Lake City Stallions3 total tackles, 1 tackle-for-lossRB Kenneth Farrow II - San Antonio Commanders9 carries for 35 rushings yards and a touchdown2 catches for 1 yardK Nick Rose - San Antonio Commanders1/1 field goals Dan Fouts Color Rush Jersey , long of 23 yardsQB Mike Bercovici - San Diego Fleet17-34 passes for 311 yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptionsRB Terrell Watson - San Diego Fleet8 carries for 38 rushing yards and a touchdown2 catches for 17 receiving yards and a touchdownWR Nelson Spruce - San Diego Fleet3 catches for 23 receiving yardsTE Ben Johnson - San Diego Fleet3 catches for 9 receiving yards and a touchdownK Nick Novak - Birmingham Iron2 of 3 field goals, long of 44 yards The Chiefs listed safety Eric Berry as doubtful for the first 10 games of the regular season while he was sidelined by a heel injury that kept him from practicing or playing.Berry has been on the practice field the last couple of weeks Lance Alworth Color Rush Jersey , which changed his listing to questionable but didn’t lead to him playing against the Raiders or Ravens. A report over the weekend indicated that he’d take the final step back to the lineup against the Chargers this Thursday, but head coach Andy Reid said on Monday, via Nate Taylor of , that nothing is definite.Reid would only say “there’s a chance” that Berry will play his first game since Week One of the 2017 season this week. Reid added that he knows Berry wants to get out there.Berry’s absence hasn’t really held the Chiefs back as they’ve clinched a playoff spot and are on track for the top seed in the conference. That probably doesn’t make anyone in Kansas City any less eager to see if Berry can regain his past form over what’s left of this season.
Hey Brandon Dunn Color Rush Jersey , look another mock draft.s, these are the things you read to spurn the thoughts ruminating in your head. This mock draft is by Houston’s own Lance Zierlein. It’s his first one. He has the Texans taking a left tackle. The same one Dan Kadar mocked Houston to take. Zierlein had the following to say about the Texans adding Greg Little (OT—Ole Miss):I don’t know anything about this class. What LZ is saying may be true about it being easier to find quality corners outside the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. I still feel better about Houston’s offensive line than most, but I do want additional competition at the position, and the Texans need to direct their efforts to upgrade the secondary. What’s also interesting are the other players selected in this mock who could be in the mix for Houston. Lance has offensive tackles Jawaan Taylor going 11th, Jonah Williams 14th, and Andre Dillard 16th.He has defensive backs Greedy Williams as the first DB off the board at 13th, DeAndre Baker 29th, and Byron Murphy going 32nd. If you are looking to watch on future Texans prospects Dylan Cole Color Rush Jersey , these lads are a good place to start. This is the Deshaun Watson the Houston Texans have been waiting for all season.Watson matched his career high with five touchdown passes to lead the Texans to their fifth straight victory, 42-23 over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. The second-year quarterback has played well at times this year but hadn’t had a breakout game while dealing with rib and lung injuries over the past few weeks. The Texans (5-3) have left their 0-3 start behind with their longest single-season winning streak since reeling off six victories in a row in 2012.“I think we’ve got the best offense in the NFL,” receiver DeAndre Hopkins said. “What we put up tonight against a pretty good defense, what we’ve shown in these past five games that we’ve won, we’re up there with the best of the best.”More Miami Dolphins newsDolphins star DB Xavien Howard doubtful for Sunday’s game at VikingsDolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) expected to play Sunday vs. VikingsDolphins likely need to follow up ‘Miami Miracle’ with sweep of remaining 3 opponents to make playoffsKenyan Drake scores on wild final play as Dolphins stun Patriots 34-33Dolphins star DB Xavien Howard to miss matchup against Patriots with knee injuryWatson threw touchdown passes of 13, 2, 73, 49 and 2 yards to give him 34 career scoring passes Trevor Daniel Color Rush Jersey , moving ahead of Dan Marino (32) for second-most in NFL history after 15 games.“This offense can be very explosive,” Watson said. “We can do a lot of good things, put a lot of points on the board.”Miami’s Brock Osweiler, who had one tough season in Houston after signing a $72 million contract in 2016, threw for 241 yards with an interception in his third straight start in place of injured starter Ryan Tannehill.Kenyan Drake had a touchdown run and touchdown reception for the Dolphins (4-4). They lost for the second straight week.“I’m fairly irritated right now,” Miami coach Adam Gase said. “I’m going to re-evaluate everything this weekend and figure out how to get better on defense, figure out how to sustain drives and get the ball into the end zone on offense.”Rookie Jordan Thomas caught the first two touchdown passes of his career, Hopkins had 82 yards receiving and two scores Demaryius Thomas Color Rush Jersey , and Will Fuller added 124 yards receiving and a touchdown.Texans running back Lamar Miller, who grew up in Miami and spent his first four seasons with the Dolphins, had 133 yards rushing and a touchdown for his second straight 100-yard game.Houston led by eight when Watson threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Hopkins on the first play of the fourth quarter to make it 35-20.Watson found the speedy Fuller in front of the defense for a 73-yard touchdown that left Houston up 28-17 late in the third quarter. It was the longest touchdown pass of Watson’s career and the longest reception of Fuller’s. Fuller has caught 11 touchdown passes in 11 career games with Watson. The Dolphins used a 41-yard field goal to cut the lead to 28-20 with less than a minute left in the third quarter. That score came after a drive featuring a crazy 46-yard pass by Osweiler . He threw the ball to Jakeem Grant, who lost it after being hit by two Texans defenders, but it sailed down the field and into the hands of DeVante Parker for the big gain.A 58-yard run by Miller got the Texans to the 9-yard line early in the third quarter. Houston extended the lead to 21-10 when Watson found Thomas again, this time on a 2-yard pass. The Dolphins used some trickery later in the third quarter when Osweiler pitched a lateral to Danny Amendola, who threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Drake to cut the lead to 21-17.INJURIESHouston CB Johnathan Joseph injured his ankle in the first quarter and didn’t return. … ILB Zach Cunningham left in the first quarter with a knee injury and didn’t return. … Fuller left the game after injuring his knee in the fourth quarter.THE CATCH THAT WASN’THopkins scored his second touchdown on a 2-yard reception with about eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, but his most impressive play of the night came on a catch that didn’t count . Hopkins reached back and grabbed the ball with one hand and weaved it between his legs in the air before crashing to the ground. But it was brought back after he was called for pass interference.“I knew the guy had my other arm https://www.texansfanshop.com , so I couldn’t put my other arm to catch the ball, so I knew I had to pin it up against something just to hold onto it,” Hopkins said.ANTHEMMiami defensive end Robert Quinn again raised his right fist during the anthem as he has done in past weeks.UP NEXTDolphins: Host the New York Jets on Nov. 4.Texans: Visit Denver on Nov. 4.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Call Odell Beckham Jr. the eternal optimist. When the New York Giants‘ flashy wide receiver was asked Friday what he hoped his 1-7 team would do for the remainder of the season, Beckham didn't pull any punches."I think the goal is to win eight games, go 9-7 and go to the playoffs," Beckham said. Even though no NFL team has ever pulled off such a comeback?"It's not an easy task," Beckham added. "But that's the goal. We want to win every game and I want to do everything I can to help that. The Giants have been there before, gone 9-7 and got into the playoffs. Anything is possible. It's not impossible to win eight games. It wasn't impossible to lose seven. Anything can happen."Beckham remained upbeat as his team prepared to face the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California on Monday night. He was certain his team is ready to turn it around Saquon Barkley Color Rush Jersey , albeit in miraculous fashion — provided the Giants do a better job of scoring touchdowns."We've lost a lot of close games that we just didn't pull through," Beckham said. "We know what situations we're in when we are in those close games. We just haven't found a way to pull them through. It's easy to sit up here and be like we want to win eight games knowing that it's very tough to do. You just got to pull it all together now."I know we're not in a very good situation, but you just got to make the most out of that."Beckham signed a five-year, $95 million contract, with approximately $65 million guaranteed, during training camp in August, so he's the new face of the franchise moving forward. He was asked if he felt he had any pressure to be the one who kick-starts the offense."Not any more than I ever have," said Beckham, who has caught 61 passes for 785 yards and two touchdowns this season. "Hopefully I can start catching some of these things and start taking them to the crib, making bigger plays. I put more on myself. Whatever happens is what's going to happen, but I know that my mentality is not going to be to quit. I'm not going to be out there not trying to go hard every play. Any chance that I get, that's just always how I'm going to be."Beckham was also asked if the Giants could eliminate some problems in scoring touchdowns once they get inside the opponent's 20-yard line."I think that any chance I get, and all of us get a chance to take something to the house, it's time to go," he said. "There's no more holding back, playing it safe Sterling Shepard Color Rush Jersey , or waiting for the next play, because you don't know if you're going to have a next play, and that's just the mentality we have to take. Any chance I get now, and I catch one of these slants, there's no motion wasted. It's just got to be somebody has got to come catch me. You trust your training, you trust your speed — somebody has got to come catch me. I'm trying as much as I can to make these plays, explosive plays, and we all need to do that."Fellow wideout Sterling Shepard also recognizes his team's struggles in the red zone."Explosive plays are always good themselves, but if you can take them all the way, then that obviously is better for the team," said Shepard, who has 40 receptions for 542 yards and two touchdowns. "You just take them as they come and some of them will pop, some of them won't, but an explosive play all around is good for the team. I think it's we're just not being assignment sound. I feel like one guy is always off or two guys off when we get into the red zone, and that can kill your chances of scoring."Beckham Jr. is befuddled why the Giants aren't scoring more."Not to say that the opportunities haven't been there, but they've been limited Darian Thompson Color Rush Jersey ," he noted. But Beckham feels the tide is about to turn for him personally."I don't know, but towards the back end of the season, I feel like I do better," Beckham said. "As the season goes on, people's bodies start to break down. I really try to maintain and I really try to be better than I was in Week 1 or Week 10. I feel a lot stronger going in towards the back end of the season. I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life. Now, it's just time to do that."NOTES: Coming off a bye, the Giants had a full team at practice Friday. WR Jawill Davis (concussion), who had been out, returned to practice, so he will more than likely be the Giants' main return option on punts and kickoffs Monday. Starting LB Alec Ogletree (hamstring) returned to practice, as did OT Chad Wheeler (ankle). . Olivier Vernon said that there was no difference in preparing to face 49ers QB Nick Mullens, who will be making the second start of his pro career. "We have to disrupt him and make him feel uncomfortable," Vernon said. "There's not a whole lot of film to watch on him, so we just have to have the mindset to get after him and get him out of a comfort zone."

but not for why you think The Miami Dolphins believe they will return to their 2016 form Stephone Anthony Jersey , when the team finished 10-6 and in the playoffs, in large part because they will see Ryan Tannehill on the field for the first time since December 2016. Tannehill returns to the helm of head coach Adam Gase’s offense, ready to pick up where he left off when Calais Campbell hit him in the knee and costing him the end of 2016, and ultimately all of 2017.All across the media, prior to the NFL Draft, there was talk about how Miami needed to pick one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s selection process, replacing the oft-injured Tannehill. The Dolphins, however, looked forward to Tannehill’s return, realizing that the quarterback who would play with blood in his urine and had not missed a game, prior to the knee injury, since being drafted in 2012, would be the right choice to lead the team in 2018. That decision has led to months of speculation that Miami is in trouble this season and that Tannehill is the biggest concern on the roster.NFL.com’s Gil Brandt released a list of the top five most and least enviable QB situations in the NFL on Thursday, and the Dolphins made the list among the least enviable. But not because of Tannehill.“Tannehill was playing the best football of his career when he went down with an ACL injury in late 2016,” Brandt explained. “Based on their decision not to draft a quarterback this year T.J. McDonald Jersey , the Dolphins must be confident Tannehill -- who was also robbed of his 2017 campaign -- can thrive running an up-tempo attack this season. I love Tannehill, and I think he’s better than people give him credit for; he’s athletic, smart and capable of winning.”Brandt’s comment about Tannehill playing his best football just prior to the injury is correct, with the quarterback coming up three games short that season, but finishing the year with career highs in completion percentage, yards per attempt, and passer rating. The Dolphins appeared to be finding their groove with Tannehill and head coach Adam Gase, only to see it ripped away when Tannehill’s ACL partially tore. The Dolphins in 2018, however, have a giant question mark at the backup quarterback position. David Fales appears to be the favorite to win the role as the second-string passer, but Brock Osweiler is also in the competition. The Dolphins have Bryce Petty on the roster as well, but he has not worked his way up the depth chart mid-way through the preseason. This is where Brandt has issues with Miami’s quarterback situation. “However, the backup situation is dicey, to put it delicately,” Brandt continued. “Osweiler seems to be a mess. He throws a lot of interceptions (27 in 29 games over the last three seasons) and William Hayes Jersey , perhaps more troublingly, hasn’t looked good this preseason despite having been reunited with coach Adam Gase, who was his offensive coordinator during his time in Denver. Fales and Petty (who is dealing with an oblique injury) do not inspire much confidence, either.”It seems like an accurate representation of Miami’s quarterback situation - Tannehill is solidly the starter and should be better than most people seem to think he will be, while the rest of the position is still a question mark. The Oakland Raiders hired Mike Mayock to be the general manager on the final day of 2018, and if you’re like me, you’ve followed his work on the NFL Network over the last 14 years. I, for one, appreciated the level-headedness in his analysis. He only did 1 mock draft per year so he didn’t sensationalize what he did. In terms of TV draft personalities, he was my favorite. The game of football seemed to emanate from his pores.Let’s take a look at the last 8 years and see who fared better at drafting for the Miami Dolphins: Mike Mayock or the Dolphins? Hopefully obvious Context to this exercise: we can’t account for every contingency. Mayock does propose trades in his mock drafts, but, for example, he can’t account for a gas mask bong video coming out because a player’s social media account got hacked moments before an NFL Draft.2011: Mayock - Mike Pouncey/Dolphins - Mike PounceyAdvantage: Wash2012: Mayock - Ryan Tannehill/Dolphins - Ryan TannehillAdvantage: WashThis is boring so far.2013: Mayock - DJ Fluker/Dolphins - Dion JordanAdvantage: Mayock. OK, not so boring anymore. The Dolphins could’ve drafted a kicker at #3 in the 2013 NFL Draft and had better return, so this isn’t so much an endorsement of Mayock as it is an indictment on the Dolphins. Honestly Akeem Spence Jersey , I can’t really fault the Dolphins, either. I was drooling after watching his “Sports Science” segment on ESPN. Ironically enough, the Dolphins defiled the Oakland Raiders in trade compensation, but my oh my did we choose wrong, though.DJ Fluker certainly had a more accomplished college career, but had what I’d call a solid NFL career. Played well initially at right tackle, then had to make the move to right guard. He played for the Seattle Seahawks this year (poorly) after a brief stint with the New York Giants in 2017. 2014: Mayock - Cyrus Kouandjio/Dolphins - Ja’Wuan JamesAdvantage: Dolphins. Cyrus Kouandjio would end up getting drafted in the 2nd round by the Buffalo Bills, had a few injuries, got released, signed with the Detroit Lions for about two months then got released, and has been a fringe player (much like Sam Young for the Dolphins) with the Denver Broncos as the team has signed him then released him on two separate occasions. He is currently unemployed.Ja’Wuan James has been a solid if unspectacular right tackle. Well, I guess, is there any other kind of right tackle? I’ve been harsh on him in the past, but the Dolphins exercised a 5th year option from his rookie contract and heads to the negotiating table this off-season.2015: Mayock - Kevin Johnson/Dolphins - DeVante ParkerAdvantage: Wash. My pent-up Dolphins frustration makes me want to give the nod to Mayock, but both players have disappointed in their own right. 2016: Mayock - Shaq Lawson/Dolphins - Laremy TunsilAdvantage: Dolphins A.J. Derby Jersey , slightly. Mayock, like everyone else on planet Earth, didn’t anticipate Tunsil dropping to the Dolphins, as he had him going 6th in a proposed trade between the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens. I give Tunsil the slight nod for the overall body of work, but Lawson probably had the best single season (2018), including two sacks and a forced fumble during the 3,142-17 Week 17 ass kicking in Orchard Park, New York.I ultimately believe that Tunsil has the higher ceiling and better prospects at being upper echelon at their respective positions, but as of this writing, it’s a close call in my opinion. 2017: Mayock - TJ Watt/Dolphins - Charles HarrisAdvantage: Mayock. TJ Watt has 20 sacks; Charles Harris has three. Harris will have more opportunities to prove himself, but the chances of Harris catching up with Watt’s career arc seems bleak at this point. 2018: Mayock - Tremaine Edmunds/Dolphins - Minkah FitzpatrickAdvantage: Dolphins, slightly. You could rightfully say that this is a premature stance: we just witnessed both players’ rookie seasons. Minkah played much better at boundary than I expected, although had a few warts later in the season. Edmunds ended up with 121 tackles and the same amount of interceptions (2) as Minkah, with one of those interceptions coming in that 126,789-17 defeat against the Buffalo Problem Drinkers in Week 17.As someone who had Edmunds as the highest ranked LB in the 2018 NFL Draft Josh Sitton Jersey , I loved his size and range coming out of Virginia Tech. During draft season, I remember thinking to myself that he might need one year to dissect an NFL playbook and the nuances that go into it. I think the best might be yet to come for Edmunds. At the same time, Minkah might be the best player on the Dolphins already. He’s shown the athleticism and versatility that put him in the top 10 conversation. Perhaps the most important of all, he appears poised for leadership, one of the last people in the building honing his craft through film study, and it’s not his fault the Patent Office screwed up: there’s only one “FitzMagic” and it’s most certainly not Ryan Fitzpatrick. Do the Dolphins move him back to free safety or will the new coaching staff continue the transformation to a boundary corner? I think it’s an important question to answer before we know what to expect in 2019.ConclusionWash: 3Dolphins: 3 (although 2 of those were “slightly”)Mayock: 2It’s close, although Dolphins technically win by quantity, isn’t it prudent to weigh the sheer vastness of the “wins”? Dolphins have 2 slight wins and 1 convincing win; Mayock has 2 convincing wins, and by far the most convincing win in 2013. This is a wash for me, ladies and gentlemen. What would you say, Phinsider? Mayock or Dolphins?

de linebacker Dee Ford after the best season of his career Steven Nelson Jersey , though that could be just the first step in their dealings with him.The decision was made on Saturday, a person familiar with it told The Associated Press, three days before the league’s deadline for franchising players. But the Chiefs have discussed signing Ford to a long-term deal, and they are open to trade possibilities as they switch their base defenses. The person spoke to The AP on condition of anonymity because the move was not finalized as the paperwork awaited filing. ESPN.com was first to report the Chiefs had made the decision. The franchise tag for an outside linebacker next season is just over $15.4 million, a number the Chiefs could easily fit under the salary cap. But general manager Brett Veach has made it clear since taking over last year that he is open to making any moves that help the overall club. That could mean a long-term contract — the deadline for doing that with a franchise player is July 15 — or trading away one of the league’s top pass rushers.“He had an outstanding season. He was at the top of his game,” Veach said during his year-end discussion with reporters. “When we drafted Dee a few years ago, all those things that we envisioned for him, he kind of showed that he was that player.”But that also came in former defensive coordinator Bob Sutton’s scheme, which is built around a 3-4 base. The Chiefs fired Sutton after an AFC West-winning season culminated in an overtime loss to the Patriots, and hired Steve Spagnuolo to implement a 4-3 scheme.“The one thing he can do Tony Gonzalez Jersey , and we all know this, he is an explosive football player that makes a lot of plays,” Spagnuolo said recently. “He’s had some production and if he is here with us, I’ll be excited to have him and be excited to work with him.”Ford was the Chiefs’ first-round pick in 2014 out of Auburn, but he struggled with injuries and the adjustment to the NFL his first couple seasons. He only played in six games with two sacks in 2017, but had a career-best 13 sacks and forced seven fumbles this past season. That performance made the franchise tag a palatable option.“Obviously, Dee is a player that has done so much for us, in particular last year,” Veach said. “We have a special thing brewing here and I think everyone wants to keep this thing rolling.”The Chiefs also have a decision to make with fellow outside linebacker Justin Houston, who had nine sacks in 12 games last season. He carries a salary cap hit of $21.1 million Derrick Thomas Jersey , a number the Chiefs would like to drive down either by restructuring his deal or potentially releasing him.“I would say that he’s under contract for this year and next year,” Veach said at the NFL’s scouting combine this week. “Again, our plan is to play with him and we look forward to having him on our roster. There’s a lot of dialogue and I think everything is fluid for the next few weeks until we get into the start of the league year. We’ll kind of handle that — the information we get, what’s real, what’s not real — and it’s a good problem to have because he’s a great player.” When Bill Belichick was asked Monday what he liked about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, his answer sounded a lot like everyone else's this season."Pretty much everything," Belichick said of the second-year player as the Patriots began preparations for Sunday night's matchup with Kansas City (5-0)."He gets the ball to all of his receivers quick, quick release, sees things quickly, can extend plays Christian Okoye Jersey , got a great arm, got a fabulous arm, can throw the ball out of the stadium."It was glowing praise from a coach that has a track record of finding ways to make things difficult for young quarterbacks.Belichick will now turn his attention to the 23-year-old Mahomes, who has been the talk of the NFL, throwing for 1,513 yards, 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions through five games. He appeared in just one game last season, leading the Chiefs to a three-point victory in their regular-season finale against the Broncos. But it was enough for Kansas City to believe Mahomes could be their quarterback and played into its decision to trade Alex Smith to Washington in the offseason.Mahomes has taken control of Andy Reid's offense, using his legs and arm to lead a group that is averaging a league-best 35 points per game.Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said during his weekly radio appearance on Boston's WEEI that young quarterbacks such as Mahomes and rookies Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield Marcus Allen Jersey , Josh Allen and Josh Rosen are taking advantage of the early opportunities they've gotten."A lot of those guys are being thrown into the mix," Brady said. "Some of those guys are playing really well. It's pretty awesome. I was a fourth-string quarterback when I was a rookie, so I was sitting in the stands, eating nachos before games. I wasn't playing. ... Some other guys have had those chances. And when you're thrown into the mix it's really impressive."It will be a big challenge for New England's defense, which is giving up 366 yards per game and had trouble defending the pass during a 1-2 start to the season.Patriots cornerbacks coach Josh Boyer said one of the underrated parts of Mahomes' game is his ability to use his legs to set up deep passes."With Mahomes in particular, one, he can make all the throws he needs to make, has a very strong arm. He also has a great ability to extend plays, whether he's going to do that running or extending it and scramble to give his receivers time to get open," Boyer said."So Larry Johnson Jersey , we've got to do a great job being where we need to be, using our help in coverage if we have any, and making sure that we're tight on receivers in competitive situations."Cornerback Stephon Gilmore said he expects Mahomes to be a handful to defend."He's a great quarterback," Gilmore said. "He's playing really good right now. He's making some big throws and he's got a lot of good weapons around him. They're 5-0 for a reason."
would sit against the Arizona Cardinals Mike Pouncey Color Rush Jersey , the rumor has been put to rest following a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.Gordon was a limited participant during Thursday and Friday’s due to some lingering knee and hamstring issues. It was noted that coaches wanted to rest him for “maintenance” in the same way he sat out the game in London against the Titans. However, it looks like Gordon did a well-enough job to plead his case which means the fourth-year back will look suit-up against the Cardinals in order to help his team right the ship following their loss last Sunday to the Denver Broncos. So far this season, Gordon is currently fifth in the NFL in rushing yards with 741 on 143 carries. His yards-per-carry average is currently on pace to set a career-high at 5.2 which would absolutely crush his career YPC of 3.8. With half the season done, who do you hand the offensive player of the year award to right now?Michael Peterson: Melvin Gordon. Has increased his career YPC to 4.0 and has strung together 100-yard games for the first time in his career. On pace for 20 touchdowns and over 1600 yards.Jason Michaels: Philip Rivers can’t double dip. We’re going to give it to Melvin Gordon Isaac Rochell Color Rush Jersey , who has officially taken off. He was serviceable in most games last year: really good then not. This year he is consistently very, very good.Ruben J. Gonzalez: We’ve have got to go ahead and give Melvin Gordon his props because he is running as free as he’s ever been. He’s not going to juke you in the open field, but his deceiving speed might allow him to scoot on by you. It’s taken him a few years for him (and the coaching staff) to figure it out, but he’s here now and its all for the best.Jake Hefner: Melvin Gordon - His game continues to get better. His versatility in both the run and pass game https://www.chargersfanstore.com , gives so much flexibility to the offense. The Chargers are giving every opportunity to Gordon to get into space beat defenders down field. There’s no doubt he has become a game changer for this offense.Mike Murray: Mike Pouncey, his athleticism at the center spot is a huge factor in Melvin Gordon’s success. On many of the big Charger runs you will see Pouncey destroying someone at the second level to break them free.Jamie Hoyle: I think you could make the case here for Philip, Melvin Gordon and Mike Pouncey, but I’m going to go with Gordon. He is the lynchpin of the offense Chargers Customized Color Rush Jerseys , as everything runs more efficiently when the offense runs through him. He’s been a lot of fun to watch this season.Lou Gorini: The offensive player of the year is every Chargers fan favorite player, Melvin Gordon. Gordon has been the solution to the Chargers red zone woes. He simply has a knack for finding the end zone. He has been a major contributor not only in the rushing game but the passing game as well. The Chargers finally put a competent offensive line in front of Gordon and he goes ahead and awards them with his highest YPC season ever at 5.4. He is the reason why Rivers has had a perfect passer rating on play action passes.Richard Wade: This has to go to Melvin Gordon. He is not just playing way better than he ever has before. He is one of the most productive, most efficient running backs in the entire National Football League. For years now, he has been productive when they threw him the ball. This year Chargers T-Shirts , he’s a monster in the passing game. Add to that his work as a runner and Gordon is putting up numbers we have not seen since LaDainian Tomlinson left.Who is your offensive player of the first half of the season?
e against the Pittsburgh Steelers last year Kareem Jackson Color Rush Jersey , the New England Patriots unleashed the Gronk: tight end Rob Gronkowski was targeted four times on the eventual game-winning drive (a series that spanned just five plays in total), registering three catches for a combined 69 yards. On top of it, he also caught a critical two-point conversion after Dion Lewis’ go-ahead touchdown. His performance during New England’s 27-24 win last season was just the latest in a string of outstanding games Gronkowski has produced when going against the Steelers. In six meetings with Pittsburgh’s defense, the future Hall of Famer combined to catch 39 passes for 664 yards and eight touchdowns. In short: Gronkowski was near unstoppable every time New England met the Steelers since 2010.Naturally, the 29-year old will be a priority target for Pittsburgh on Sunday. “It is a serious job to work to minimize his impact on the game,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said about the matchup earlier this week. “He’s a dangerous man. He’s Gronk. He’s a vertical matchup. He’s a big-time play-maker. He’s good with the ball in his hands after the catch. He’s a big-time competitor.”Last year, the Steelers tried slowing Gronkowski down by using more man-coverage concepts against him. The plan did not work: he finished the game with nine receptions for 168 yards and, as noted above, was indefensible on the game’s final drive. Tomlin knows that he presents a serious challenge for his team again this year, despite not producing at the same level this season as he did in years past.“Gronk has missed some time this year but he’s finding his rhythm,” the Steelers’ head coach said. “He has been playing the last several weeks. You know the matchup issue he is for everybody globally and he is, and has been, for us in the past. We’ll be thoughtful about putting together a plan to minimize him and his impact on the game. When you play a guy like him it’s going to take multiple people and multiple techniques.”Gronkowski himself is aware of the fact that the Steelers will be focusing on him tomorrow. “I feel like they’ll throw a lot of things,” he told reporters during a press conference on Thursday. “I mean, I’ve seen a lot from them before — a lot of coverages, a lot of split-safety, post-safety, man, zone. They switch it up a lot, too Benardrick McKinney Color Rush Jersey , and so I’ve had a couple guys before — like a linebacker covered me one time, a safety or a corner.”“To tell you the truth, they actually mix it up a lot and you’ve got to be prepared for it all, whatever coverage, whatever guy it is,” Gronkowski continued. No matter what the Steelers have thrown at him in the past, he has countered it effectively and provided a reliable target for quarterback Tom Brady — who himself has a history of playing well against the team — in each of his six matchups versus the Pittsburgh defense.Tomlin, meanwhile, knows that Gronkowski has been a problem his team was unable to solve over the past few seasons. “As far as stopping him, it’s not as easy as A-B-C,” he said. “We haven’t been a part of it. We’re looking to be.” HOUSTON (AP) — Deshaun Watson was sacked more than any other quarterback during the regular season.Houston's struggles to protect him continued in the wild-card game on Saturday and it contributed to a 21-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.Watson, who was sacked 62 times in the regular season, was sacked three times and hit eight more times in a disappointing playoff debut. He finished with 235 yards passing with a touchdown and an interception. He addressed the pass rush when he was asked about some low throws he made on Saturday."The pressure was there," he said. "I couldn't step into my throws. It wasn't where I was sitting there by myself with a full pocket. Guys were in my face and I was trying to make throws like that.""I don't think any quarterback can step into that throw and get their full strength and their lower body into it," he continued. "A lot of balls can be low. That was it, really."Houston's passing game was also hampered by a shoulder injury to star receiver DeAndre Hopkins in a first half where they fell behind 21-0. Hopkins was second in the NFL with a career-high 1,572 yards receiving in the regular season, but was limited to five catches for 37 yards on a day he said that he sustained a Grade 3 AC strain of his right shoulder.Hopkins acknowledged it being difficult to play through his injury and was in so much pain after the game that he winced repeatedly during the simple task of trying to zip his jacket. He lamented Houston's slow start."I'm very disappointed," he said. "That's a good team that came out and jumped on us early. We just couldn't fight back."The Texans (11-6), who overcame a 0-3 start to win the AFC South Jordan Akins Color Rush Jersey , didn't score until rookie Keke Coutee grabbed a 6-yard touchdown pass to cap a 16-play, 89-yard drive that included a fourth-down conversion that cut it to 21-7 with about 11 minutes left.Coutee, who returned after missing five games with a hamstring injury, was a bright spot on a tough day for Houston, grabbing 11 receptions for 110 yards. The Texans led the NFL with nine comeback wins this season, but their attempt at a rally ended on their next possession when Watson's pass on fourth-and-10 from the Indianapolis 24 fell short with about four minutes left.Despite their early exit from the playoffs, coach Bill O'Brien expressed optimism for the team after he fell to 1-3 in four playoff games."I just didn't do a good enough job getting (the) guys ready to play," he said. "Doesn't change my feelings about this team … I think there is a bright future for the organization when you have the players we have."Watson, who played his first full season after tearing a knee ligament after seven games as a rookie last season, agreed with his coach and said Saturday's game didn't shake his belief in his abilities."My future's bright," he said. "I'm not going to lose any confidence in myself, what I can do … just go back to work, keep this feeling in the back of my mind, go back to work this offseason, regroup next year."The Texans were limited to 105 yards rushing and allowed 200 as they played from behind from the first series on. Running back Lamar Miller said the huge early deficit affected what they could do offensively."It makes it difficult," he said. "It makes us one-dimensional just trying to hurry up and try to put points on the scoreboard. I think the second half the defense did a great job of doing their job and us on the offensive side of the ball we just didn't finish."Andrew Luck threw for 191 of his 222 yards and two touchdowns in the first half to allow the Colts to build the big lead.Luck threw for 863 yards with six touchdowns as the teams split two meetings in the regular season. He picked up right where he left off in this one, when he found Eric Ebron on a 6-yard TD pass on their first possession. The Colts made it 14-0 on a 2-yard run by Marlon Mack later in the first quarter.Houston went for it on fourth-and-4 from the Indianapolis 45 on its second possession and Watson was intercepted by Kenny Moore II. It was his first interception since he threw two against the Redskins on Nov. 18.The Colts got to the 17 after that before J.J. Watt deflected Luck's pass and he was intercepted by Brandon Dunn. But the Texans couldn't move the ball and had to punt.Indianapolis pushed the lead to 21-0 when Luck connected with Dontrelle Inman on an 18-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. The Texans had a fourth-and-1 from the 9 late in the second quarter and went for it again instead of settling for a field goal. The gamble didn't pay off when Watson's pass to Hopkins was low and bounced in front of him in the end zone."Our red area has been horrendous for the whole year," O'Brien said. "We have had a lot of trips there, but we haven't been able to score touchdowns down there. That was the case today."
Hours after his team won the Super Bowl Miami Dolphins Jersey 2019 , s was hired Monday as head coach of the Miami Dolphins.Flores helped the Patriots shut down the high-scoring Los Angeles Rams for a 13-3 victory in the title game Sunday night in Atlanta, and then flew to Miami to seal his deal with the Dolphins.“It has been a whirlwind 24 hours,” Flores said with a smile at a news conference that drew two dozen cameras.“Looking at this crowd here, you’d think we won the Super Bowl,” Miami owner Stephen Ross said. “I’ve never seen this many people in this room. … To me, you start an organization by signing a great leader. They decided on Jan. 11 to offer the job to Flores, the Patriots’ defensive play-caller, but had to wait until New England’s season ended to complete an agreement.“I wasn’t in a rush to become a head coach,” said Flores, 37. “I had a good job in New England. I’m thankful I’m part of this organization now. We’re going to do everything possible to build a winner here.”While preparing for the Super Bowl, Flores also began to hire a Miami staff. The group is expected to include former Colts and Lions head coach Jim Caldwell as assistant head coach, Patriots receivers coach Chad O’Shea as offensive coordinator and Packers assistant Patrick Graham as defensive coordinator.Flores, the son of Honduran immigrants, grew up in Brooklyn and has spent his entire coaching career with the Patriots. He joined them in 2004 and became their de facto defensive coordinator a year ago after Matt Patricia left to join the Lions as their head coach.Flores is the ninth former assistant to Bill Belichick to become a head coach.“Two things that stand out immediately when you meet Brian are his football intelligence and leadership skills Kiko Alonso Jersey ,” Miami general manager Chris Grier said in a statement. “If you talk with anyone who has played for him or worked with him, you will hear about his ability to lead and get the most out of people. Brian sets a high standard for his players and coaches, and we are completely aligned with our vision on how to build a successful organization.”Flores becomes the NFL’s fourth minority head coach for 2019, which is half the total of last season. Diversity advocates have questioned the effectiveness of the Rooney Rule requiring teams to interview at least one minority candidate for any head coach or general manager vacancy.A former Boston College linebacker, Flores also coached offense and special teams with New England. He has a long relationship with Grier, who took charge of football operations in the recent organizational shake-up.Both started as scouts for the Patriots, the Dolphins’ longtime nemeses in the AFC East. Flores will report to Grier under the team’s new, more streamlined leadership structure.Flores becomes Miami’s 10th head coach since 2004, including three interim coaches. He is leaving a team that won its sixth Super Bowl since 2002 to join a franchise that has not won a playoff game since 2000 and plans to rebuild after another dismal season. The Dolphins went 7-9 in 2018 to miss the playoffs for the 15th time in 17 years. MIAMI (AP) As part of an attempted upgrade on offense https://www.49ersfanshop.com/Garrett-Celek-Jersey , the Miami Dolphins even decided to switch snappers.sed Thursday as part of an offensive line makeover. Miami also acquired center Daniel Kilgore in a trade with San Francisco, and four-time Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton agreed to terms on a two-year deal that could be worth nearly $18 million including incentives, said his agent, Jack Reale.Pouncey, 28, has been plagued by serious problems with both hips, and at one time said he feared the issue might be career-ending. But last season he played in all 16 games for the first time since 2012.The Dolphins also sealed their deals with former New England Patriots receiver Danny Amendola and former Kansas City Chiefs wideout Albert Wilson. They re-signed defensive back Walt Aikens, a standout on special teams, and re-signed long snapper John Denney, who has been with Miami since 2005 and turns 40 in December.Quarterback David Fales agreed to terms on a one-year deal and could win the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill. Fales threw for 265 yards in last season’s finale against Buffalo and won praise from coach Adam Gase.Pouncey became the fifth starter jettisoned by Gase after a 6-10 season. Five-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was released, as were linebacker Lawrence Timmons and tight end Julius Thomas Arik Armstead Jersey , and three-time Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry was traded.Changes on offense were expected after Miami ranked 28th in points last season.Pouncey, a first-round draft pick by the Dolphins in 2011, made the Pro Bowl in 2013-15. But he never played in a playoff game and was at the center of team’s bullying scandal in 2013.Kilgore is a seven-year veteran who started all 16 games for the 49ers in 2017. Last month they signed him to an $11.78 million, three-year contract extension, but he became expendable when San Francisco signed free agent center Weston Richburg to a $47.5 million, five-year deal this week.As part of Miami’s trade with the 49ers, the teams swapped seventh-round draft picks.Sitton, 31, spent the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears and made the Pro Bowl most recently in 2016. He played for the Green Bay Packers from 2008 to 2015 and has 137 career starts.Amendola signed a $12 million, two-year contract, and Wilson received a $24 million Frank Gore Color Rush Jersey , three-year deal. They’ll combine to replace Landry, who has a $16 million franchise tag for this year.Amendola, 32, is a nine-year veteran with 426 receptions, including 61 last season. Since 2013, he has played in 13 postseason games with Tom Brady. The San Francisco 49ers will likely fill their top needs during the NFL draft that is a month from now. That shouldn’t prevent the team from continuing to improve their depth on the roster. Here are two players that the team could look at on each side of the ball.OG-Andy LevitreLevitre is 33-years old and is coming off of a torn triceps injury. A similar injury that forced the former Atlanta Falcons starting left guard to miss time in the 2017 postseason. You aren’t bringing in Levitre to start, though. You are bringing in the veteran that has proven he can get the job done in the NFL. Prior to Levitre being injured, he was widely regarded as one of the top guards in football. There’s no telling if he is still that player, but with the familiarity in Kyle Shanahan’s offense https://www.49ersfanshop.com/Bradley-Pinion-Jersey , Levitre can certainly provide some much needed depth at guard. If he wins a starting spot, I don’t think you’ll see anyone complaining. Especially with the contract Levitre will command coming off of an injury and entering his 11th season. Levitre could also mentor guys like Laken Tomlinson, Mike Person, and Josh Garnett.LB-Jamie CollinsWhen you watched Collins play for the Cleveland Browns in 2018, it was evident he simply wasn’t interested in being a part of that team. A change of scenery would be welcomed for the versatile defender. Collins has the type of skills a team like the 49ers should covet. Not only can Collins run and cover, but he can play on the line of scrimmage as well. Last year for the Browns Collins played 255 snaps on the defensive line. Collins had four sacks on 140 pass rush snaps. For reference, Ronald Blair was second on the 49ers in sacks last year with 5.5. He rushed the passer 338 times. With no more Cassius Marsh, the team could use a third pass rusher that can bring more to the table than just one trait. Collins is the type of athlete you bet on. San Francisco would be wise to incentivize Collins contract. The effort was an issue in 2018, the talent was not.

He’s recorded about 4,000 receiving yards in 80 games. The 28-year-old’s agent, Blake Baratz shared the news via Instagram. Over the past two seasons, Thielen has emerged into one of the top-wideouts in the game. He became the first player to record 100-yards receiving in eight consecutive games to start a season Garrett Bradbury white jersey , last year. Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson reported in March that the Vikings were having talks about an extension for Thielen. Back in February, Thielen’s agent was also hopeful the two parties would be able to work out a deal. Thielen was an undrafted free agent from DII Minnesota State-Mankato before he signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2013.

Please let us know in the comment section below. As well as this post being the question of the day post it will also serve as a live thread to discuss, like in all the other non game live threads, pretty much whatever you so wish so long as it falls within the parameters of the site’s rules. If you are not sure as to the site rules (or maybe for whatever reason you have never even seen them) there is a full post covering the site rules as well as some other helpful hings under the tab at the top of the page labeled “LIBRARY”. Doing your best to follow the site rules will not only make the site enjoyable for everyone but will also keep you and Bill from getting close and personal with one another. There is an enduring truth about living in a large city: its citizens are way too intense about their sports teams. Out on the West coast, fans at Dodgers-Giants games have been beaten, stabbed and shot for supporting the wrong baseball team. Here in Chicago, a visiting Steelers fan was blinded in 2009 by some folks who attended the game for the home team; they spiked his drink with antifreeze during the post game festivities. As long as people who are losers in their daily lives count on their favorite teams to somehow bail them out and make them winners, there will always be incidents like this, although, thankfully, they are relatively rare. Voodoo success can never take the place of real success Mike Hull Jersey , but that doesn’t stop some folks from trying. When you live on the North Side of Chicago, the running joke is that you either despise the Cubs or you just haven’t been here very long yet. As you might imagine, since I live here, I almost want to see Chicago lose this game more than I want Miami to win it. It may not be easy. The Bears come in with the second ranked defense in the NFL -- just 2.3 yards per game behind the league leading Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Dolphins have the NFL’s 30th ranked offense. If Miami is to win this game, they’ll have to do it by using their 22nd ranked defense to shut down, and force turnovers from, Chicago’s 24th ranked offense. I’ve long regarded Kansas City’s head coach, Andy Reid, as one of the very finest offensive minds in the game, and first year Bears head coach Matt Nagy was hired from Reid’s staff last January, which means that unless second year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky makes enough mistakes for the Dolphins to turn into meaningful points, the Bears figure to be a tough out on Sunday. As impressive as Chicago’s offense looked against Tampa Bay two weeks ago, the turnaround veteran defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has engineered on defense for the Bears has been nothing short of spectacular. For as long as I can remember, the Chicago Bears have always employed a 4-3 defensive alignment. Like the ridiculous zone blocking scheme the Dolphins use on offense Matt Haack Jersey , the 3-4 defense generally fails more often than it succeeds. Fangio, though, probably runs the 3-4 better than anyone not named Bill Arnsparger, Dick LeBeau or Bill Belichick. In the 2015 draft, the Bears and Dolphins both took receivers in the first round and defensive tackles in round two. Although both Kevin White and DeVante Parker, like virtually every other wideout drafted high that year, have fallen woefully short of their draft billing, as did Miami’s second round pick, Jordan Phillips, the Bears did manage to land a stud nose tackle in the second round, in former Florida State Seminole Eddie Goldman. At 6’4”, 320, Goldman is a load inside and represents a roadblock in the middle of the Bears’ defensive line against Miami’s undermanned OL. Chicago smartly signed him to a four year contract extension last month. The strength of any 3-4 defense is, of course, its linebackers Stephone Anthony Jersey , and the Bears may have the best quartet in the NFL. Three of them, Leonard Floyd, Roquan Smith and Khalil Mack, are former high first round picks, and Mack looks like a lock for NFC defensive player of the year right now. Expect several highlight reel type plays from him on Sunday. Former Bronco Danny Trevathan rounds out the unit, at RILB. This is what happens when a team makes a multiyear commitment to upgrading its defense and has an experienced coordinator on the sidelines; they’re very tough to beat. The Dolphins finally got serious about that side of the ball in the past couple of years, but they still have a ways to go. Only a ridiculous prime-time comeback by Green Bay in the first game of the season, helped at least in part by some questionable officiating, separates the Chicago Bears from an undefeated record after four games. Vegas has them favored by three; I think we’ll all be thankful if the Dolphins can keep it that close. Still, with their backs against the wall after two embarrassing losses, I think that, win or lose, we’ll see a good effort from Miami on Sunday. It should be an exciting game.
GLENDALE Jacob McQuaide Jersey , Ariz. (AP) — what’s ailing the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams (11-3) are the NFL West champions again, and have the NFC’s second-best record behind New Orleans (12-2). But Los Angeles has lost two in a row, 15-6 at Chicago and, last week, 30-23 to Philadelphia. So the Cardinals (3-11), 1-6 at home and at the bottom of the NFL standings under first-year coach Steve Wilks, would seem a welcome opponent when the teams square off Sunday in Arizona’s final home game of its difficult season.Of course, Rams coach Sean McVay would never say that even if he thought it was true.“That’s certainly not our attitude,” he said. “Our attitude is that we have a lot of respect for this football team and for coach Wilks, and we’ve got to be ready to go. There’s a lot of great players on both sides – proven, high-caliber players Dominique Easley Jersey , some Hall of Fame players, perennial Pro Bowl players. We’ve got to be ready to go.”The Cardinals were gashed for a season-worst 215 yards on the ground in their 40-14 blowout loss at Atlanta last week. The could mean a big day for Todd Gurley, if he’s healthy. McVay indicated on Wednesday he expected his prolific running back to play after being limited by knee inflammation this week.“We expect that if he progresses the way that we anticipate, that he’ll be ready to go,” McVay said.Gurley didn’t have a big day statistically but ran for three touchdowns in Los Angeles’ 34-0 home rout of Arizona in Week 2.Jared Goff threw for 354 yards in that game, but is going through a rough stretch. In the last three games, he’s thrown for one touchdown and been intercepted six times.“I think each game is independent of each other,” he said. “I don’t think there’s one singular thing. Look at last game, made a couple dumb plays that hurt us and you can’t do that.”The Rams are two-touchdown favorites. Here are some things to consider about the game:FITZGERALD’S FINALEThis might be Larry Fitzgerald’s final home game of his spectacular 15-year NFL career. Then again, it might not.Fitzgerald, as is his custom Troy Hill Jersey , was not at all forthcoming on the subject of his retirement when the subject was broached Thursday.“If I decide to retire, I’ll let you guys know, seriously,” he said. “So I don’t know why we keep asking these questions. You know me. I’ve been answering for the last three years. Nothing’s going to change.”In other words, when he decides, he’ll let everyone know.Fitzgerald has caught a pass in 226 consecutive games and recently passed Jerry Rice’s record for most catches with one team. With a TD catch on Sunday, he’d have 19 in his career against the Rams. Only Rice has more against a single team, 25 against Atlanta and 20 against the Rams.GOFF’S CONFIDENCEGoff said he thought that toward the end of the Philadelphia game, the Rams got back to being themselves on offense.“I felt like we moved the ball really well and we were able to build off some things there and able to kind of take what the defense was giving us,” he said. “I felt like I learned a lot in the last game and was able to grow.”Goff said it’s not that defenses are figuring them out.“I think it always comes back to us, just doing what we do — executing Michael Brockers Jersey ,” he said. “Defenses are going to present different looks every game and that’s no excuse. It happens every game. It’s happened every game we’ve played this year. So, it just comes down to us executing and being our best and just really focusing on the details.”RAM BACKSWith Gurley’s status a bit shaky, the Rams signed veteran running back C.J. Anderson this week.Even if Gurley plays, there could be some action for Anderson.“Could really see him playing a role this week,” McVay said, “very sharp, cerebral player. He’s played in some systems very similar in terms of the verbiage, some of the things we try to emphasize specific to the running game and in protection.”PHAROH SWITCHReturn specialist and wide receiver Pharoh Cooper went from a Super Bowl contender to a leading candidate for the No. 1 draft pick this week when he was waived by Los Angeles and claimed by the Cardinals.“It’s going to be great to see all those guys,” he said of facing the Rams so soon. “I’ve built so many relationships with them. That’s still family over there, but at the end of the day I play for the Cardinals now.”HOLIDAY SACKSArizona defensive end Chandler Jones is donating $20,000 for every sack he gets in the final two games — against the Rams and Seattle — to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He has 5 1-2 career sacks against Los Angeles and 8 1-2 against the Seahawks. The Oakland Raiders are exploring playing a preseason game in Canada and joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams this summer Ethan Westbrooks Jersey , according to Michael Gehlken of the .A game north of the border in Canada could be the first of two times the Raiders will leave the states to play a game in 2019. The team is already scheduled to play the Chicago Bears in London during the regular season. Per the report, it would be a Raiders home game that would be moved to the Canadian site if the game is scheduled. The Raiders are, begrudgingly, set to play one final season in the Bay Area before moving to Las Vegas for the 2020 season. Efforts to find an alternate home site for games this fall after their lease with the Oakland Coliseum expired proved fruitless. However, the London and Canada games would mean the team would play just eight home dates in Oakland instead of the standard 10 for the preseason and regular season. A postseason appearance would potentially add to that number, obviously. The Canadian preseason game would also mean one fewer game with the dirt baseball infield of the Coliseum as well. The report points to Regina, Saskatchewan and Mosaic Stadium as a possible site for the game. The field plays host to the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Rogers Centre in Toronto played host to several games – exhibition and regular season – featuring the Buffalo Bills from 2008-2013. BC Place in Vancouver was the last stadium outside Toronto to host an NFL game of any kind as the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers met in the 1998 preseason.Additionally, the Raiders are also trying to set up joint practices with the Rams. The team held practices with the Detroit Lions last year as well. The Rams also held joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens last August.

All offseason, the Chiefs coaches and front office have been talking about safeties that are versatile and have some man-coverage ability. Tyrann Mathieu fits that bill but the Chiefs may be looking to upgrade the second safety position next to him. This is where a player like Darnell Savage comes into play, with his experience as a slot defensive back and safety. Versatility is paramount with Savage, as he’s had a ton of reps in the box, kicked out into the slot and even played at deep safety. No matter where he’s playing Larry Johnson Jersey , Savage’s elite athleticism shows up and he has instincts to read and react to plays in front of him. He has the best closing burst of any player in this draft class (and maybe the last few) and eliminates space or angles offenses think they have. Savage shines in pass coverage, ranging from his ability to play man coverage from the slot or buzz around in underneath zones. He shows a good eye for finding the ball and even baiting quarterbacks into throwing into windows he can make a play on. His aggressive play style allows players behind him. At the Senior Bowl, he was the first choice for nearly every practice to play deep safety and acquitted himself well, showing promise that he can build on his range to make the transition in the next level. The Chiefs will be in an exciting position for taking a safety in this draft because there are quality players who can play every type of role you could as, and it will just be a matter of which one they want. Pairing a player like Savage with Mathieu Joe Montana Jersey , who plays similarly and shares many of the same strengths, could create some very interesting wrinkles to the defense but also could the Chiefs with one of the smaller safety tandems in the NFL. SEATTLE (AP) —ss and usually a forgettable exercise for veterans.Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner hasn’t forgotten what happened this past August when the Seahawks were facing the Los Angeles Chargers. It was late in the first quarter when Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers decided to take a timeout because he didn’t like the play against Seattle’s defensive alignment. But the part that Wagner remembers: Rivers knew the exact name of Seattle’s defensive call.“He called timeout and was like Dan Feeney Color Rush Jersey , ‘Dang, they’re running strong something,’ and I’m like we just changed the name yesterday, how’d you do that?” Wagner recalled. “Maybe he just luckily chose that, I don’t know. It was kind of funny, I’m like how did he know the name? The quarterbacks know the play, they never know the name of the play.”Knowing the play didn’t really matter back in August, but it will Sunday when the surging Chargers face the equally improving Seahawks. Los Angeles (5-2) has won four straight and is coming off a bye week following its 20-19 win over Tennessee in London. The Seahawks (4-3) have won four of five — including a victory in London — and the game against the Chargers starts a stretch with six of the final nine games at home for Seattle. And Rivers is the introduction to a challenging month of elite quarterbacks the Seahawks will face and challenge Seattle’s overhauled defense that has climbed its way back to being among the best in the NFL halfway through the season. After Rivers, the Seahawks will face Jared Goff, Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton in consecutive weeks.“The biggest difference is you used to go in — and this is not by any means slighting the roster, the defensive lineup now — but you used to go into that game, and you could just say, who is on Seattle’s defense Kyle Emanuel Color Rush Jersey , and you could write out every one right because they had been together for so long, back-to-back Super Bowls, won the Super Bowl against Denver,” Rivers said. “Now there’s just been so much change on that defense, but there’s still the same scheme, and there’s plenty of names that you can recognize. So it’s a good group.”The Chargers should get running back Melvin Gordon back after he missed the win in London with a hamstring injury. Gordon has combined with fellow running back Austin Ekeler to have 1,283 yards from scrimmage and the pair is averaging 6.65 yards per touch.Seattle’s running backs are providing and equally important contribution to the Seahawks recent success. Chris Carson has become Seattle’s primary runner and posted his third 100-yard game in last week’s win over Detroit. Beginning with Week 3, only the Los Angeles Rams have more carries or yards rushing than the Seahawks — and Los Angeles has played one more game.“I think they know what’s working. That’s kind of their formula,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. “They have been averaging about 30 rush attempts a game and it’s working.”Here’s what else to watch as the former AFC West foes meet for the 51st time overall:200 STRAIGHT FOR RIVERSRivers will make his 200th consecutive regular-season start. He’ll be the fourth quarterback and the eighth player since the merger to reach that milestone. The 15-year veteran is off to one of the best starts of his career. He’s second in the league with a 117.8 passer rating and tied for third in touchdowns with 17.“Obviously, you want to be able to out there and help. It’s not just be out there. You want to play at a high level, and that’s been up and down over 199, but being out there means something,” Rivers said.THE OTHER QBWhile much of the focus has been on the quarterbacks Seattle is about to face Brandon Mebane Color Rush Jersey , the Seahawks’ own QB is playing pretty well.Russell Wilson posted the first perfect passer rating in Seahawks history last week against Detroit when he completed 14 of 17 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns. With the focus on the run game, Wilson’s task passing has become efficiency and taking advantage when opportunities are presented. In the past three games, Wilson has nine TD passes on just 61 pass attempts.BIG PLAY WILLIAMSWith most opposing defenses continuing to double-team Keenan Allen, Chargers WR Tyrell Williams has emerged as a big-play threat. Six of his 10 receptions in the past three games have been for 26 yards or more and three have gone for touchdowns. According to Sportradar, four of those receptions have been on go routes with the other two being post routes.HEAVY HEARTSSunday will be the first home game for the Seahawks since the death of owner Paul Allen, who died on Oct. 15. He was 65. Allen was responsible for purchasing the team and keeping the Seahawks in Seattle, along with the construction of CenturyLink Field.Seattle’s first coach, Jack Patera, also passed away earlier this week at age 85. This is a great time of year to be thankful for what we have, where we have been, and what the future holds. Although the Chargers have lost their way a bit in recent years, the month of December still holds such incredible promise! This advent calendar is an attempt to hearken back to these days of December joy. Each day will bring a new advent from the Bolts’ history that makes it wonderful to be a Chargers fan.Dec. 03: December Football is Coming Back! Can you feel it? It’s in the air. Not quite fall, but not quite spring. AH YES Michael Schofield Color Rush Jersey , winter! Chargers football has often been a force to be reckoned with in the winter.Philip Rivers has led the charge in regards to this late-season renaissance.Since taking over as quarterback of the San Diego Chargers in 2006, Rivers has helped lead them to a 35-17 record in games played in December and January. In 2016, it was 35-14. After the smoke cleared from 2017’s odd resurgent year, the record stood at 40-15. The Chargers won all but one of their games last December, but their loss to the Chiefs was what kept them out of the playoffs (oh, and an 0-4 start). In 2018, the Chargers are 1-0.Clearly, from this growing sample, you could make out the trend that has gained real steam again. The Lynn years are a marked improvement over the McCoy years (in a variety of ways). The Chargers were, and again are, incredibly successful on the field come December.Well, until recently...As recently as 2014, NFL.com had this to say:As of today Tyrell Williams Color Rush Jersey , Tom Brady is now at 59-12 (.830) in post-November regular season football. Philip Rivers is now third on the list with 40-19 (.677).From 2013 to 2016, the Chargers posted a 2-13 record for post-November football. Outside of that stretch, they have a .863 average. Yow!But this is NOT an article on how sad they have been lately, it’s a celebration of how successful they have historically been in this month!2006 - 5-0 (Philip Rivers begins starting for the Chargers)2007 - 5-02008 - 4-0 (you’re starting to see where this December stuff comes from, aren’t you?)2009 - 5-02010 - 3-2 (Philip Rivers marks his FIRST December loss)2011- 4-12012 - 3-22013 - 4-1 (Mike McCoy begins his tenure)2014 - 1-32015 - 1-42016 - 0-5 (We’ve seen enough of the real McCoy)2017 - 4-1 - Anthony Lynn’s first year.2018 - 1-0 - Unbeaten world championsI don’t care who you are, that’s impressive. During Rivers’ first 8 years with the franchise, they went 33-6 in December. No, let’s reduce that further. In Rivers’ first 4 years with the Chargers, they did not lose in regular-season football after November. That just does not happen! With an incredible win over the Steelers on Sunday Night Football this year, the Chargers look well-oiled for another fantastic December. There are some really tough teams yet to go, but they’ve already hurdled what most consider to be their second biggest challenge on the 2nd-half schedule.-Jason ”December to Remember events are a limited time celebration” Michaels

(AP) — Eric Reid’s return to the NFL created a buzz around the league on Thursday, six months after he filed a grievance alleging collusion by the NFL to prevent teams from signing him because of his participation in racial injustice protests during the national anthem alongside former San Francisco 49ers teammate Colin Kaepernick. Some NFL players were excited about the 2013 Pro Bowl safety signing a one-year deal with the Panthers, but were quick to point out they believe Kaepernick should be back in the league as well.Kaepernick congratulated his Reid on Twitter , saying Reid “should have been signed the 1st day of free agency. … He was the 1ST person 2 kneel alongside me. Eric is a social justice warrior, continues to support his family and communities in need.”Browns running back Carlos Hyde, who played with Reid and Kaepernick in San Francisco, was stunned to hear his former teammate had been picked up by the Panthers.“For real?” Hyde said following Cleveland’s practice. “I’m so happy for him. It’s been too long. I kind of felt like they was doing him the same way they were doing Kap, so it’s good to see E-Reid got signed and Kap should definitely be up next. It would be a real good thing then.”Said Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett Kareem Jackson Color Rush Jersey , “It’s about time.”As for Reid, who filed his grievance in May, he was mum during the hoopla on Thursday, declining comment through the Panthers and not weighing in on social media except to re-tweet Kaepernick. The 26-year-old Reid said in March that he doesn’t plan to protest during the national anthem this season. The Panthers have a bye this week and next play at home on Oct. 7 against the New York Giants.Kaepernick, who filed his grievance in October 2017 and remains a free agent, began protesting racial and social injustice during the 2016 preseason by kneeling during the national anthem. Reid later joined the quarterback. After that other players around the league joined in, much to the displeasure of President Trump, who Tweeted at players to “Find another way to protest. Stand proudly for your National Anthem or be Suspended Without Pay!”That sparked a polarizing political debate that divided some NFL fans.Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills knelt during this year’s season opener against the Titans.“I’m just happy for (Reid), excited to see him get out there on the field and be the impact player we all know he is,” Stills said Thursday. “Obviously I feel like he should have been signed the first day of free agency.”Stills said he spoke to Kaepernick Benardrick McKinney Color Rush Jersey , his close friend, on Thursday.“He wants to play. He’s good enough to play. He deserves to play,” Stills said. “I don’t see why a team won’t sign him, or hasn’t signed him.”The decision by the Panthers to sign Reid comes less than three months after David Tepper bought the team from conservative owner Jerry Richardson.Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said he wasn’t concerned about Reid’s past protests, telling The Associated Press it was a “football decision” — and one that was approved by Tepper.“Every decision we make we communicate with” Tepper, the GM said. “Everybody we sign we ask if he has the skill set, does he fit into our system, and if he can help us win football games — and we feel the answer is yes.”Eric Reid’s younger brother, Justin, who plays safety for the Texans Jordan Akins Color Rush Jersey , said he is “immensely proud” of what his older brother stands for “in trying to have a voice for the voiceless.”When asked if he believes his brother was not signed earlier by NFL teams because of his decision to protest, Justin Reid said “I’m going to try and defer away from that.”Reid is expected to start right away after the Panthers placed starter Da’Norris Searcy on injured reserve last week with a concussion. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Reid played the first five seasons of his NFL career with San Francisco after the 49ers selected him in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. He has started 69 games.“He’s a physical safety with good ball skills and he makes plays and he has experience,” Hurney said. “He’s a young player with skins on the wall. He has played at a very high level.”Forty Niners defensive coordinator Robert Saleh confirmed Thursday they inquired about signing Reed this week after injuries to Jaquiski Tartt and Adrian Colbert.“E-Reid is familiar with our system and we know him, are comfortable with him,” Saleh said. “Obviously, it didn’t work out, but any time you have the opportunity you explore it.”

Due to some fresh faces, Rosenthal elected not to rank every team in the NFL. It didn’t take long to get to San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch. He came in at No. 22 on the list. Here’s what was said about him:I think it’s fair to mention foul balls here. It’s tough to truly judge Dante Pettis because he didn’t get an entire season with Garoppolo. We’ve seen the good Garoppolo can do, now we just need to see it for a full season.I don’t think anyone would argue that we would have liked to see more out of Thomas. Mike McGlinchey was a good pick, but there were quite a few impact players that were rookies last year. Should Lynch be penalized for that? That is also tough, as we don’t know if those players would flourish in different scenarios. I don’t think Lynch gets enough credit for here for George Kittle, Matt Brieda, or Richard Sherman. They also have a starting guard in Laken Tomlinson, and got a 1,000 yard season out of Marquise Goodwin. I know it’s easy to just look at the top picks and judge, but if you’re going to judge on sample size Richard Sherman Color Rush Jersey , you have to dig a little deeper.Should Lynch be listed higher? Caroline Darney of Streaking the Lawn enlightens us on the 49ers sixth round selection"We did this last week with the San Francisco 49ers first-round pick Nick Bosa. Today, it’s time to learn more about rookie CB Tim Harris. Caroline Darney of Streaking the Lawn is here to help fill us in on the athletic cornerback from Virginia.1) If Harris didn’t have his injury history, where would he have been drafted?Caroline: This is an outstanding question, and I’m not entirely sure! Harris came to Virginia as a local guy from Richmond (Varina HS) and was a four-star ESPN/Rivals.com prospect. He improved year over year until the back-to-back injury issues in 2016 and 2017, but I’m not sure he improves as much as he does if not for the adversity faced in the injury. Harris worked so incredibly hard after those two seasons he had cut short, and that hard work paid off. I think he performed better in his final season than the sixth round pick indicates, but hesitation around injury history will do that. Just on performance, I’d put him closer to the late-third to mid-fourth range (that could be the total UVA homer in me, though)? Virginia’s secondary as a whole -- especially Juan Thornhill and Bryce Hall -- was outstanding last season. Harris was a huge part of that. 2) What is your most fond memory of Harris? It may seem weird, but my favorite Tim Harris moment came in the final game of his career at Virginia as the Hoos dominated South Carolina, 28-0 https://www.49ersfanshop.com/Jaquiski-Tartt-Jersey , in the Belk Bowl. Harris not only had a pick in the game, but had a perfect pass break up in the end zone to keep the shutout alive (21 second mark of this video). Harris had some struggles early in his career getting beat off the line and giving up plays exactly like this, so I just love it as a way to cap off his tumultuous and trying career. It may not seem like a huge play, but just what it meant as a fan who had followed his career...it was a heartwarming moment for me. 3) What’s something UVA fans might know about Harris that us 49ers fans wouldn’t know?Tim Harris has a really strong network of good DBs in the league! He played alongside Maurice Canady (who is now a cornerback with the Baltimore Ravens) in high school and college, and is close friends with Ant Harris (safety with the Minnesota Vikings) from their time at Virginia. Additionally, he met Richard Sherman (who I think you’re familiar with...haha) at a youth football camp in Richmond. 4) What’s one area Harris needs to improve the most if he wants to see the field for the Niners?I’d love to see his speed and quickness off the line improve. At 6’1”, 205, he’s not the tallest out there, but he’s strong and physical. He posted a vertical jump of 39” at the UVA Pro Day, so not too shabby. 5) What’s it say about his character to be able to fight through what he has and still get drafted? This kid just does not quit. It’s tough enough after one season-ending injury, but to get your waiver Mike Person Jersey , come back, and play not even ONE full game before suffering ANOTHER season-ending injury? That’s brutal. Not only did he not give up, but he came back stronger and better than he was at the end of his junior season. His final year in Charlottesville (with a new coaching staff, mind you) was his best of his career as he hit career-highs in tackles and interceptions. 6) Harris will contribute for the 49ers because he ___?Will never stop working hard. That sounds so cheesy, yes, but he has the drive to keep working until he gets the job done. He’s the type of player that will use the resources available to him, including learning from current players and working hard with trainers and coaches. Couldn’t be happier for Tim, and I hope he crushes it for you guys.

Some say the best center prospect in the last few drafts.Let’s break down his game. He’s a Smaller, Strong, Athletic CenterGarrett Bradbury’s Measurables If you look at Bradbury’s measurables on the right, two things stand out.He did very well in all the athletic drills, along with the bench press. On the other hand, he’s a relatively small offensive lineman, even for a center, with short arms, except for having pretty big hands. In this way, he is comparable to Jason Kelce Minnesota Vikings Jerseys 2019 , who’s been one of the best centers in the league the past several years. In general, while Bradbury has good core strength, being on the smaller side without quite as much girth in his lower half, he has to work a little harder to sustain his anchor against big bull rushers. And with short arms, he needs good hand technique to mitigate that against longer defenders who try to extend and stack him.All that tends to make him more of a finesse blocker - using good technique and strength- to get the job done.Having said that, he’s tough, physical and plays through the whistle.Excellent Technique and AthleticismFortunately for Bradbury, his technique is excellent across the board, so his size issues haven’t shown up on tape much.In fact, as a zone blocker, Bradbury is thought to be elite in his skill set.Whether footwork, hand placement/usage, movement skills, balance, grip or flexibility, Bradbury is excellent in every facet in terms of technique and athletic ability. As an outside zone blocker, which NC State ran a lot of, Bradbury stands out for his ability to make “reach” blocks. What this means is that on a zone run to the left side Olisaemeka Udoh Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , when the center has a defensive tackle lined up outside his left shoulder or in the gap to his left, he needs to get out in front of him to prevent his penetration into the backfield and then seal him off from the run lane.Given the defender’s position advantage, this isn’t an easy task.It requires a good burst/initial quickness after the snap to get the jump on the defender, then excellent footwork and body control to maneuver into position to frame the block effectively.Bradbury is as good as they come in this skill set. Here is an example on film:This is the type of run block the Vikings will ask Bradbury to make as part of their outside zone run scheme.New and Improving CenterBradbury is also relatively new to offensive line and the center position, having switched from a tight-end when he arrived at NC State as a freshman. He played left guard his first two seasons (only 38 snaps his first year), before moving to center in 2017, where he started his final two years.According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Bradbury improved every year in both pass protection and run blocking. In pass protection, he progressed from a 75.1 grade in 2016, to an 82.5 in 2017, to an 84.6 in 2018.Meanwhile his run blocking grades improved from 68.8 to 78.2, to 83.3 last season.Last season, PFF credited him with a 98.5% pass blocking efficiency, having given up 2 sacks, 1 QB hit, and 10 pressures over 512 pass blocking snaps. This ranks only 28th best among center prospects in this draft class. This is where his size and arm length issues show up the most, having more difficulty anchoring and sustaining blocks in pass protection. As a run blocker, Bradbury is at the top of his position in positively graded run block % - or really good run blocks. He is about average in avoiding negatively graded run blocks Youth Alexander Mattison Jersey , or blocks where he lost the rep. Overall, he was the 2nd best graded center in run blocking, and 7th graded pass blocker, with the 2nd highest overall grade among centers last season.Having been a center for only two seasons, and an offensive linemen for three plus, Bradbury has come a long way toward learning his position. In fact, his technique is already well ahead of most more well-seasoned college veterans, and he appears to be as NFL-ready as any offensive linemen in this year’s draft.Beyond that, Bradbury appears to be an excellent fit in the Vikings outside zone scheme, which seems likely to benefit him as he begins his career as a pro. Here are some scouting reports on various aspects of Bradbury and his game:RUN BLOCKINGBradbury’s body control, core strength, movement skills and intelligence check very important boxes for teams looking for immediate center help. His pass-pro tape against Clemson proves he can hold his own against a variety of pass-rush flavors while his strength and athleticism make him scheme flexible. He is a candidate to become an early and long-time starter in the league.- Lance ZierleinA true technician that is intentional about playing with leverage, body positioning and hand placement. Highly effective taking advantage of blocking angles and working combo blocks. Finds leverage points and does well to exploit them but isn’t necessarily a consistent people mover in drive block situations. Does well to maximize his play strength by playing with consistently sound technique and timing. - Joe Marino TDNElite zone blocker with outstanding burst and footwork to reach technique from A to B-gap with ease. Has been the best zone blocker in college football for maybe two seasons now. Outstanding quickness, hand placement and football IQ to consistently identify and reach targets in a timely fashion. Made everyone around him better on the offensive line with his ability to assist on first level and still gets to his target on the second level. Only concern is the lack of scheme diversity at N.C. State, all zone there. - John Ledyard, TDNFinesse blocker. Effective in lateral situations and fully capable of steering defenders with his hips and hands, but isn’t going to drive anyone off the line of scrimmage. Has good foot action to try to sustain forward momentum and positive framing. - Kyle Crabbs, TDNPASS PROTECTIONTakes consistent pass sets and effectively frames rushers. Has excellent foot speed which enables him to stay square and mirror rushers. Keeps rushers at the end of his reach with a usually well-timed and located punch. Highly effective help blocker when uncovered.- Joe Marino Super Bowl Alexander Mattison Jersey , TDNGood luck beating him on his edge unless you get him off-balance first. Power rushers succeed in pushing him back slightly, but is almost never overwhelmed and gives inches slowly, not feet. Does a great job keeping his base proportionate and recovering when he faces an unexpected rush.- John Ledyard, TDNLikable foot cadence to gain depth out of his snaps and angle into an assistance role in the pocket. Has a bit of a soft anchor and as a result struggles to gain his footing against head up nose tackles in protection. Most effective in slide protection.- Kyle Crabbs, TDNCOMPETITIVE TOUGHNESSA three-year starter at center after converting from tight end as a redshirt freshman, Bradbury has been an outstanding pivot for N.C. State, dominating as a run blocker while growing into a very consistent pass protector. Truthfully, there is very little to dislike about Bradbury’s tape, as he rarely loses a 1v1 exchange and has a remarkable combination of traits and technique that should make him an early and impactful starter in an NFL zone scheme. The only thing that may bump Bradbury down the board is that N.C. State is almost exclusively a zone blocking team, which could limit the number of scheme fits for him if NFL teams are concerned he can’t operate as effectively in gap/power offenses. I believe Bradbury can be a dominant center across the board with his traits, smarts and technique, but for zone heavy teams he can become one of the best centers in football. Top 10 player in the 2019 class.Effort is terrific. Has good results in long reach blocks thanks to hustle, short area quickness and second effort. Physical play strength is adequate but not an asset, nor is his ability to drop the hips and absorb power rushes in one on ones. - Kyle Crabbs, TDNPhysical and tough to finish every rep strong. Works his tail off to get to targets in space and at least get a piece of them. Has had a few opportunities to get downfield and throw blocks and always shows maximum effort. Looks for work when uncovered and will hammer interior defensive lineman in pass pro support.- John Ledyard, TDNLast, here is a link to a nice scouting report on Bradbury by former defensive end Stephen White.Scouting FilmBelow is some tape on the NC State offensive line the past season.Bradbury is #65.
